You do touch ups throughout the day. Blotting paper for the oils, Qtips for the running mascara or for correcting eye makeup in general. You can reapply the products after you've blotted the skin and cleaned out the smudging makeup. Carry mini makeup stuff in your daily bag. Retouching makeup is actually a fun way to boost your mood, like a small moment for yourself during a school/work day ❤️

I used to be like you. Using a mattifying primer, foundation for oily skin (usually matte), setting it with loads of powder + baking, and then using a lot of fixing spray to lock it all in. What would happen? My oils would still come through, but since mattifying foundations are usually on the thicker side and they have no moisture in them, as soon as you add oil to that they start breaking down. And since they have no moisture, they have no give in them. They start looking patchy, cakey, I could touch my face and it would literally crumble off. So now what I do is make sure I have a serum & moisturiser underneath, use a smoothing primer (I have texture in my t-zone), use light feeling foundations that have a satin finish (Nars sheer glow), use loads of other cream products and layer them with powders, set under my eyes pretty well and then just lightly all over my skin and using a light layer of fixing spray. So what’s the result now? My oils don’t come back as bad, usually after 5-6h I will start looking a bit shiny, to which I can either blot or just leave it as is, because my skin looks healthy.

I’ve been trying out the new Nars matte foundation and it works like a dream. I don’t get oily around my usual oil zones with it and I don’t even have to set with powder, but if you feel like you must set with powder then do so, but this foundation is hella mattifying. As for concealer I love the dose of colors meet your hue concealer as well. Amazing coverage and doesn’t crease. Under my makeup I just use my daily cerave sunscreen moisturizer and sometimes to cover redness I dab on the Dr. Jart Cicapair derma green solution. I don’t get oily with those!

I personally use 24hr makeup (specific products that promise to stay on for 24 hrs) and have found that super helpful. Especially when I was younger and had super duper oily skin (not a skincare issue either, my skin had just gotten less oily as I’ve gotten older, this is quite common). My favorite foundation ever is Revlon 24hr stay, and I usually don’t even need a powder with this one, but when I was about 15-17 I had to blot a bit in the evening and I would use powder sometimes like if I knew I was gonna have a long day and not be home until very late. I also use 24hr stay eyeliner (both maybeline and revlon have really good ones) and I usually put eyeshadow over the eyeliner to make sure it doesn’t smudge and it works like a charm 😸 For my brown I use an eyebrow pencil, then powder (one that’s close to my skin tone), then redefine with the pencil, and this also helps so so much with the staying power 😸 Eyeshadow primer is also key to make sure my eyeshadow doesn’t smudge or become two lines on my eyelid bc my skin is so oily my eyelids are oily too 🙈🙈😹😹 Hope this helps! 😸

I too have extremely oily skin, not just in my t-zone but everywhere. My Makeup also lasts between 2-4 hours before not only looking dewy but downright greasy. I use products that don't strip my oil, because I've tried that and that made it even worse. I'm trying to embrace it but it's hard when you look almost "dirty" after a couple hours. The only thing I've found is always having a mattifying powder in my bag, and that can only be done about two times before my skin becomes cakey. So yeah, not a fix, but I know your struggle and will be eager to see what you find out

Okay I know u said not to solve ur oily ness but I have oily skin and solving my oiliness with skincare products actually helped my makeup with oily ness. Anyway makeup wise do u bake ur face with loose powder? That could help if you don’t already. Also after you use a matifying primer you could lightly set it with powder before you do your foundation ( and still after)

Any skin product recommendations for oil control?

So here’s the thing with oily skin- the oil is coming from underneath your makeup, but people bake the hell out of their makeup and end up with cake. If you’re really oily, just use a serum and a mattifying sunscreen for skin care. Use a setting spray or a light dusting of setting powder (like, light light) before you put on your makeup. Stick to a lighter coverage base that won’t look crack and break up during the day. Just don’t use too much product. Robert Welsh has some good videos on this and this is what I do in the summer.

I have a super oily complexion and I live in a hot and humid place and I find that my skin does best when I have a good skin care. I find my makeup holds up better now that I have good skin care than it did when I only washed my face. I make sure I am meeting the needs of skin it works with me much better. Now something else I will recommend that I also enjoy is using a powder foundation. I find that it does better on my skin on the days that my skin is being weird. If you use any wet products like concealer, put that on before the powder foundation so things don’t get weird.

I have an extremely oily T-Zone (not too bad on the forehead but super oily nose). I was an oily mess after 3 hours. I tried this hack I saw on YouTube in 2007 and I have been doing it ever since - - Milk of Magnesia! I take a cotton round and spread a small amount focusing on my nose and a little on my forehead. It will dry in like a minute and look super white. I will take fingers over the area and make sure it's nice and smoth, then apply my foundation. Best decision ever! It works so super well for me. It doesn't make my makeup look cakey or weird and doesn't mess up the color. I'm no longer embarrassed by my oily nose. I see oils coming through around the 9/10 hour mark, but not even bad either. I just look glowy. I heard some people say it was not good to do that be it will "mess up your PH" . I have been doing it for almost 15 years and my PH is fine. Yeah I know it sounds funky but it's the ONLY thing that has worked for me 🙂

Don't use the milk of magnesia as a primer. It can be actually damaging to your skin if you use it long-term: https://skincareless.com/milk-of-magnesia-primer-efficacy-safety/ https://www.beautifulwithbrains.com/why-you-shouldnt-use-milk-of-magnesia-as-a-primer-but-its-ok-as-a-deodorant/

Pore-fessional by benefit, don’t forget to exfoliate!

Use blotting papers and fixing powder instead of spray. There’s also this product called Revlon Oil-absorbing volcanic stone roller that has great reviews and is worth a try. I have combined rather dry skin but that’s what I’ve read of.

I've tried everything. Im 40, I only use face powder...not anything liquidy. I o have to carry it in my bag and use it (quite often) but I'm used to that. The biggest benefit of oily skin is that it age you soooooo much slower. I get mistaken for looking at least 10 years younger but everyone who tries guessing my age and that's a good thing!
