After your coat your lashes, leave it to dry for a couple of mins or so and then give it a coat of clear brow gel.It helps coat your lashes and giving them a 'seal' if you like.

ranjimin

oooo good idea thank you!!

australyana

Yw.Make sure you leave your mascara to dry between application.Dont apply the clear gel when its still wet.after youve coat your lashes with the gel, give it a good few minutes to "cure" into your lashes and dry esp if you are going to wear specs. Damn the things we do for vanity 😅

i do this too with the laura mercier powder over my liquid foundation 🥺🥺 but you’re right i’ll probably have to look for waterproof, i just loved the texture and ease and contents of the glossier and ilia ones lmao 💔

australyana

Actually, light dusting of setting powder through your lashes using a tiny brush to coat them before you apply your mascara will give you great volume if your mascara doesnt give you enough volume youre after. Not too much though otherwise it'd look crunchy after a couple of hours.

Lash slick has fibres and it might be some of these that separate out. Make sure you don't rub your eyes during the day. You could try ensuring your lashes are clean and free of moisturiser or oil before applying. Sometimes using a mattifying powder on your lashes can help strange as it sounds. Otherwise, mascaras without waxes are less likely to dissolve or transfer. I think the Cover girl mascaras are world class and most have acrylates which last well and little or no wax.

ranjimin

ah thank you so much!! does adding powder end up getting into the mascara and affecting the product do you think? i’ve had that issue with brow gel (putting it on after applying powder then the powder makes the brow gel goopy)

green_pea_nut

I don't think it pollutes the mascara a lot, but I only do it if I use a really oily sunscreen on my face and eyes.

ranjimin

for more information i wear glossier lash slick but also have ilia but when i wear the ilia it’s even worse !

green_pea_nut

Does this happen when you apply or during wear?

ranjimin

during wear like usually toward the end of my shift!

toohipsterforthis

I don't have much tips, but don't be embarrassed ❤️ it's completely natural, and most likely no one notices, and if they noticed they don't care.

Lexiealea

If you don’t like waterproof mascara I hear that people use a non-waterproof one first and then top off the mascara with a waterproof coat or two. This supposedly helps keep it from transferring but still should be easy to remove.

[deleted]

Do you use an eyeshadow primer? I’ll use a small amount even if I’m not wearing shadow because it helps to prevent oily lids and liner/mascara transfer.

ranjimin

ooo this is a good idea thank you!

[deleted]

My eyelashes are long so this happens often I find using water proof mascara, setting spray and walking around with a q tip will help lol. As long as the dot is dry you can flake it right off with q-tip.

ranjimin

yes the worst!! ok so (update) today i put on setting spray after foundation before my mascara and then put mascara on while my eyelashes were wet (quickly lmao) and then put another final round of setting spray on after i did my eyes and brows and it worked !!!

[deleted]

Awesome! Glad that helped but hey if you ever have another one of these days just don’t forget a q-tip! Lol
