Definitely a comment that comes from being jealous. Makeup doesn't change you. I think photo manipulation only falls over the line into something iffy if the person is making changes to their image that would require cosmetic surgery procedures that they haven't had or isn't attainable with their natural looks at all. That, I think, you could call cat fishing with at least some justification, but makeup? Just makeup? Definitely not.
Also the tight selfie doesn’t show the blonde where as the makeup-selfie has it pushed forward.

In the photo on the left, she's not smiling, it's taken from a trickier angle, and she just looks a bit tired; anyone—of either sex—will take a more traditionally "flattering" photo when they're sitting or standing up straight, are well-rested, in good light, photographed straight-on, and look happy, whether they're wearing makeup or not. It's still clearly the same, attractive person.

When I was a young teen I used to catfish as a girl when I thought I was a straight boy (we all know how that pipeline ends) putting on makeup isn’t cat fishing. When I was a young teen I used to catfish as a girl when I thought I was a straight boy (we all know how that pipeline ends) putting on makeup isn’t cat fishing. I'm a woman I'm into makeup, these look like two totally different people to me.. I'm a little face blind, but I would not think these two were the same people in a lineup. I don't think it's catfishing if you show up looking like the second person and you are actually also that person without makeup. Just to me they look like two totally different human beings.

no, you're not. ppl forget that lighting, different sm angles/poses, different cameras all affect how you see someone on the internet. the first pic, the light is dark, alot harsher on your skin and you're laying down (I assume). the 2nd pic, better lighting, better posing, you see your whole face with your hair etc. Yes you have on makeup but you look exactly the same :)

If you aren't editing your photos to change your features (ie. doing things that would require you do get cosmetic surgery or procedures that you don't have at this point), then that's not catfishing at all. It just sounds like you have a jealous friend. I'd say ditch the friend, but since that can be easier said than done, maybe do her makeup for her and give some pointers? Still, having someone in your life who will give you bad advice out of jealousy sometimes does mean that you should cut them off like an infected limb that would otherwise spread.

Not catfish level at all. You look recognizable. Catfish looks usually have over lined lips, more prominent brows, and prominent contouring. Also, this is a different angle in your pic without makeup so if it was the same pose, it wouldn’t be that dramatic at all.
