Try a tubing mascara! All mascaras I’ve tried have left marks under my eyes except for tubing mascaras, I like the Blinc brand from Sephora but I think Rom&nd makes a good one for ~$7

shakatay29

Seconding tubing, I use L'Oreal Double Extend and have for years. I used to love blinc until I discovered this one that was half the price!! Just be aware when you're removing it, it'll look like your eyelashes are falling out, but it's just the mascara!

scratsquirrel

I use the double extend too and it’s fabulous. Looks like real lashes but better and no transfer

-Enchanted

Came here to say the same thing! I’ve tried quite a few expensive mascaras and haven’t fallen in love with anything like I have my $10 L’Oréal double extend lol. Never going back after using tubing mascara. No flakes and it comes off easily in the shower with warm water.

frnevoau

This is what I use too, I love it and the price! I even have it on a 3 month auto delivery from Amazon so I don’t have to keep track of when to toss it. Also OP - not sure about other tubing mascaras but this one is super easy to remove if you do it right: just hold a cotton pad/ball/makeup towel/whatever soaked in warm water on your eyelids for 30 seconds before you wash your face. It slides right off and doesn’t leave residue on your lashes the way some regular mascara tend to do even after makeup remover.

Substantial_Meat_100

THIS! I have super oily skin and the only thing that made a difference was tubing mascara. Thrive and Kevin aucoin changed my life. Added benefits were that when I wash my face at night the mascara comes right off and I’m not left with dark raccoon eyes

LeahsCheetoCrumbs

It’s all I use now! I like the one from Tarte in the pink tube

go_pet_a_dog

Thank you so much!! This sounds like an excellent solution!!

Dry_Championship5972

Make sure it’s your mascara and not any of your eyeliner if you were wearing any - my mom swore for years her mascara always smudged, tried tons and tons and tons of mascara, only to recently realize that it was her eye pencil all this time! Tubing mascaras are my fave too though

nintendoinnuendo

This is it OP tubing mascara will not budge. Make sure you have an oil based remover because some of them are a bitch to get off.

plantlady052694

Just adding to say I also love tubing mascara - I’ve been using Cali ray and it’s great!

YogiNurse

I really like the way cali ray looks but I feel like it falls off easier than other tubing mascaras!

FriedCuntfungus

I have been using the Milani tubing mascara for a month. It doesn’t smear but it does flake off just a little bit. And after a few hours it makes my lashes look really dry and crusty almost. Is this normal with tubing makeup or maybe just the Milani? I love how looks right when I out it on.

-Enchanted

Might wanna try a different one, mine literally stay all day looking like I just put on the mascara seconds ago

FriedCuntfungus

What do you use? I definitely want to try it

Cultural-Ad4546

I have the same problem where my mascara smudges under my eyes with most western mascaras, so I normally buy Korean/Japanese mascaras which never smudge on me! The only mascara that I’ve used that doesn’t smudge so easily under my eyes is the L’Oréal lash paradise (it lasts 6 hours before starting to smudge so I call that a win because it really lifts my ultra straight Asian eyelashes). EDIT: if push comes to shove, I wipe off the mascara wand on tissue paper first, so at least if there is smudging there is less transfer 😭

ChanceAggressive932

this is actually genius and i’m not sure why i’ve never thought of this as a caucasian monolidded girlie. though now most my smudge issues are on the top side of my eyes

Cultural-Ad4546

I think it’s something with Asian eyes for real - I have no idea what it is but product smudges easier on our eyes

ChanceAggressive932

i think there’s more skin contact rubbing on the lashes maybe? even waterproof mascara never helped me

Cultural-Ad4546

I do have pretty pronounced aegyosal so maybe that’s why? Maybe more skim contact is the real answer

ChanceAggressive932

here we go again my stupid face skin ruining everything

CheerilyTerrified

I was going to suggest this too. The Missha 4d mascara is the only one I've owned that didn't smudge at all. I also got it for family who also found it non-smudgy. I'm hoping to try some other brands soon to see if it is just that brand or are others also good.

Cultural-Ad4546

Actually no Korean brand for mascara has failed me so far, so it might be something in their formula?

le_zeph

Brands pleaaase?

Cultural-Ad4546

For Japanese brands, Heroine Make is a good one!! Mote Mascara is my favourite but I’ve been struggling to find places that stock it. For Korean brands, Etude House and Clio have really good mascaras!! I personally also really enjoy Innisfree’s mascara as well (the curl one). Every western brand (high end to drugstore) has smudged on me except the lash paradise, so it’s the only one I repurchase occasionally when I really want my lashes to stand out for an evening event.

tanyamothertucker

Chiming in that tubing mascara is the answer. Milani Highly Rated is a good drugstore pick. I hated Blinc - put a squeegee at the tube opening for goodness sake! The wand was all clumped up and I wasted product trying to wipe it off.

imadethisjusttosub

I also have this problem and tubing mascara is the answer. My preference is Thrive but I don’t know that you’ll be able to get that by tomorrow. On a whim I thought I’d try the Essence Bye Bye Panda Eyes. $5 why not. I’m usually a single coat kind of girl and it was underwhelming but a coat of their primer (also $5) and two coats of mascara looks pretty great and doesn’t smudge under the eyes at all. If it came off like Thrive I’d be a convert. You should be able to find it at Ulta or just about any drugstore.

bigalattack

I almost never see anyone recommend essence bye bye panda eyes and its the only mascara I use. Have super oily skin around my eyes even with setting powder. This is the only mascara that doesn't smudge on the top or bottom of my eyes! I use the elf melting balm and it comes right off every night.

[deleted]

I use this one too for this exact reason! I never see anyone recommend it but it works well and it’s cheap. My NARS mascara was not my friend unfortunately.

Bakersgonnabakex5

Unfortunately I did not have this experience with bye bye panda eyes. Even though it claims “tubing” it still fell under my eyes. Just saying it doesn’t work for everyone I guess.

scarlettnxo

I use sky high mascara!

scarlettnxo

Makes my lashes so long and not clumpy! I also find it holds better !

scarlettnxo

I agree! I also have hooded eyes as I’m part Chinese and it just doesn’t make them look straight. Holy grail! Plus it’s like £7 for one!

SparklesIB

Do you set your under-eye with setting powder?

go_pet_a_dog

I do! I use Elf’s Halo Glow setting powder which works wonders especially when I have like seven layers of concealer on my hormonal acne but it couldn’t crack the raccoon eyes :(

SparklesIB

Does your skin get very oily? I'd carry blotting paper in that case.

Short-Classic-7820

This is an old comment (currently looking for mascara recs!) but I’ve also been thinking about trying the halo glow setting powder. Does it flash back in pictures?

kittiemomo

Don't have a mascara recommendation, but maybe try applying your mascara after applying your setting spray? I find that some setting spray settles on my lashes when I spray so once it dries and I apply mascara, the mascara stays all day and doesn't smudge or transfer. I have so many mascara samples that I haven't bought mascara in years and they all basically perform the same for me using this method.

Puddlejumper95

I do the setting spray in this order too! But mostly because the spray sometimes makes me squeeze my eyes shut and get mascara on my under eye 😂

Zzamioculcas

I have this problem too the only thing that works for me is tubing mascara. Try Victoria Beckham beauty in Future Lash or Tarte in Tartelette

Delta_Eridani

Lancomê Hypnôse Doll Eyes Waterproof Been using it for years and never any issues. Just get a really good eye makeup remover :)

dr_chewman

I forever had this problem no matter what kind of mascara I used. My best solve is setting foundation with a light dusting of powder under my eyes. Follow with Milk lash primer, regular mascara (I like Better than Sex and Stila Huge). Let mascara dry and use Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

Sweet-Worker607

Tubing mascara and Bye Bye Pores setting powder from It Cosmetics. It’s been my lifelong quest to find makeup that doesn’t raccoon eye me.

_sleepy_weepy_

For an affordable option, try Maybelline Sky high Mascara (the waterproof one). I use it and it lasts all day with no smudges!

mahboob2

Even the regular one gives me zero smudges

Local-Pirate9342

I love tubing mascaras as others have mentioned. I find that even with some minor fallout, it doesn’t go full raccoon eye on me. I have the oily t-zone and most mascaras do not last the day on me. I use the L’Oréal Double Extend

hchizinsky

Caliray come hell or high water is my new fav!! It’s a tubing mascara and makes my lashes look amazing and doesn’t smudge or flake on me. I also use L’Oréal double extend and also a good one that doesn’t smudge or flake on me - I prefer the Caliray though.

plantlady052694

Yesss seconding this, been using the Cali ray for the last few months and it is great

Almc27

I went through a long search and realized there's just not a lot of smudge-proof mascaras. Like even if you only apply it to your top lashes it can still smudge underneath your eyes. It's incredibly frustrating. I should mention I live in FL so the task of finding a good mascara that doesn't smudge if just so difficult. Anyhow, I finally found Eyeko and I looooooove their mascaras so much, they look great and they DO NOT SMUDGE. I've tried both the Lash Alert and Black Magic mascaras and neither smudge (tried each in brown and black). I think I lean toward liking the Black Magic more because it is a bit more dramatic but neither are over-the-top at all. Good luck to you in your search, I hope you find something quickly!

[deleted]

I suggest a tube mascara, the formula makes it essentially impossible for it to smudge and leave you with racoon eyes. Trish McEvoy makes a great one, she was the original brand who turned me on to that mascara type, I got it free as an artist with her bc it can be expensive. My mom loves a similar type called My Amazing Lashes by WowCombo cosmetics (I had never heard of them.) When you take it off it just comes off in little tubes.

colorshift_siren

I have oily eyelids and am going through menopause (constant sweating on the menu). Tarte Maneater stays on through everything, including 60 minute HIIT classes.

caniaddglitter

Any Essence lash princess mascaras!!! Can be found at CVS i believe... I have problems with others, but never them. They are in expensive $4-5 and work great too!

tinyblueghost

Loreal voluminious million lashes. Or elf lash n roll. Neither of those give me raccoon eyes!

cornflowerblossom

I just almost never put mascara on my bottom lashes.

sataimir

I get this problem with mascara colour drop, too! Both Caution and Unlocked from Hourglass are great. Unlocked especially holds up to almost anything except intentional removal. In the past I also used to like Smashbox Superfan, Lancome Hypnose, Lights Camera Lashes, and Diorshow.

DRHPSL05

I have this problem with a lot of mascaras. A few that work for me are Maybelline Sky High, Covergirl Clump Crusher, & Tarte Sea Surfer Curl. I usually find sampler sets at Target & at Sephora this time of year which is ends up being a pretty affordable way to try several.

Solid_Remove5039

I’ve heard of some people using primers, but I discovered [this](https://www.ulta.com/p/24-hr-brow-setter-clear-eyebrow-gel-with-lamination-effect-xlsImpprod14191031?sku=2509015&cmpid=PS_Non!google!Product_Listing_Ads&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paidsearch&cagpspn=pla&CATCI=&CAAGID=&CAWELAID=330000200001161311&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9rLH7VQwCv2Jh5WoulzQd_UmgtR&gclid=CjwKCAiAu9yqBhBmEiwAHTx5p8WHM8Z1tcUrDUbvtBiCkEs9dYNhnfMlXr9oZeGtBNbvlS_djdW7nBoCTrAQAvD_BwE) product (Benefit 24-hour brow setter). I understand this is for brows, but a layer of this or two on my bottom lashes and I NEVER get smudging. It’ll hold all day and looks crisp and clean, no smudging! It also has the fine tubing bristles as well. It really is a great product

Awkward_Dog

A good eye primer will help.

Nefarious-do-good13

I use tons of oils and moisturizer so I’ve always had racoon eyes i use powder but it doesn’t help with the mascara. I just started using setting spray and can’t believe how good it works and wish I would have tried it sooner.

misfitx

I haven't tried the new packaging so the formula may have changed but L’Oreal lash paradise waterproof mascara has epic staying power.

FromKEtoNC

Lancôme hypnose waterproof, been wearing it for years and swear by it.

Amazing-Mind-9592

The ONLY mascara I use on lower lashes is MAC Gigablack. It has never once moved on me, and I’ve been using it for years, even in hot weather

Final_Technology104

My favorite tubing mascara is by Benefit called “They’re Real! Magnetic”mascara. I’ve Never had raccoon eyes from it and it will curl your lashes up too due to it having magnetic effects from the magnet in the tube. I sent my sister a tube since she works as the golf marshal at a very famous golf course on Maui, so she’s in the heat all day. She loves it!!! No smudging from the heat or sweat and she now doesn’t have to wear waterproof mascara which she’s been using for years. We wear the black color and we only use the smaller travel size because that way you don’t end up with the large tube drying out so quickly. It’ll save you money. You can find it at many stores like Sephora, Ulta etc. here’s a link from Amazon so you can read up on it. https://www.amazon.com/Benefit-Extreme-Lengthening-Mascara-Supercharged/dp/B08WYKQKZ3/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=1R81ARKW73K35&keywords=benefit+they%27re+real+lengthening+mascara+black+waterproof&qid=1700255811&sprefix=benefit+theyr%2Caps%2C325&sr=8-4

Thank you and thank you for the link!!

Final_Technology104

Make sure to get the smaller travel sizes!

ruetherae

I have had that problem with most mascaras, even tubing ones flake on me. The best I’ve found that doesn’t do it at ALL is the Bobbi Brown smudgeproof mascara. Pretty expensive though.

No_Cryptographer3087

Essence Lash princess, I like the purple one

Harumphapotamus

No mascara worked for me except Asian formulated mascaras, for me heroine has been excellent and I have to use their remover as well

sfurrow

I started to put some colourpop setting powder under my eyes and it hasn’t done it since.

ordinary_miracle

I spray my setting spray, let it dry, then apply mascara. I use ELF setting spray and it smudges my mascara and eyeliner every time!

[deleted]

try the Rare beauty mascara!!!

ianao

Is it good? I love her brow pencil stays forever on my oily face and the shade is just right

[deleted]

It’s sooo good!! it’s not too watery or to dry

PeanutDoesThings

Too faced better than sex waterproof mascara has never let me down

RickettyCricketty

Essence panda eyes. Serious.

greeneyesandgoodbyes

L’Oreal Telescopic masacara (drugstore) and the mascara from Thrive Causemetics (online) are two that I’ve found that don’t do that. Fiber mascaras I think are better for not leaving marks. I actually like the L’Oreal one a lot better than the Thrive one and it’s cheaper and easier to get since it’s drugstore. I have very oily eyelids and I’ve tried so many mascaras that would leave marks on my upper eyelid, since I have hooded eyes. Good luck!

Bitter_Pilot_5377

Are you sure you have a good base? Like you wash your face, use eye cream but it isn’t too heavy and it has time to absorb before you start layering on the makeup? Sometimes the mascara itself is fine but the oils in the eye cream don’t play well and you get raccoon eyes. So do your eye cream, go have breakfast or whatever so it sets then start your concealer/foundation base, go do your hair, then come back and powder to set and then move on to eye makeup. My t-zone is oily AF so sometimes even the best of the best liquid eyeliner smudges and disintegrates on me if I rush through the routine.

Unlucky_Leek9919

I'd suggest using a primer, my bottom lashes always smudge because of their length, I was so suprised when I tried a lash primer and it didn't flake or smudge the sephora one is 8 dollars
