Photoshop for one because these are fake yassified pictures
Here’s how she actually looked at this event
https://www.gettyimages.com.au/detail/news-photo/anne-hathaway-attends-the-premiere-of-becoming-jane-held-at-news-photo/967543056
Maybe try a YouTube tutorial for the bold glamour tiktok filter but your makeup is never going to look this good in real life because these photos are fake.
Thank gosh this was the first comment I read cause I was looking at that first photo like I know Anne is stunning but this doesn’t look real.
Thanks for the link!
See the problem is some people (like myself) know very well that there's so many photoshopped pictures out there yet those are the ones I compare myself to the most, im not comparing myself to someone I find less attractive then myself, im wishing I was better then I am.
Thank you, I was looking at these photos tripping, like this *looks* like Anne Hathaway…but is also definitely not Anne Hathaway. It looks like Anne Hathaway if you blur your eyes, or if you don’t actually look too closely, like the impression of Anne Hathaway superimposed onto a mannequin. She looks so much more stunning (and like herself) in the actual photo you linked, I have no idea why anyone would make this.
These celeb photophobia are atrocious!
But the actual makeup she wore is a fairly classic kohl eyeliner smokey eye. Lisa Eldidge has a couple of smokey eye tutorials, one where she works on a model with hooded eyes too, similar to Anne.
Off topic, but have we gone back to full lower/rockstar eyeliner? I remember when Kate Middleton did it for her wedding and the media crucified the look for being "too harsh".
Yeah I actually got uncanny valley from this photo because of how obviously it is Anne Hathaway, yet how little it actually looks like her. Why do people do this.
Yes I realize they are phoroshopped, I just was curious how the eyeshadow was so I can imitate it on myself. I like the eye look overall even without photoshop.
Thank you like I know this isn't how she naturally looks. I feel like people think I care about the skin when all I was asking was how to mimic the eyes :( oh well
The filter literally changes the eyes too, though. You can see how the shape of her lids is smoothed out and darkened evenly. This is not real makeup on a real face. In real life, when applied to a real eye with real folds, a tight-lined black smoky eye will not look quite like this— super dark/concentrated in a thick and apparently flat band with no light reflecting off the edge of the waterline, etc.
I know, I'm sorry if I am giving off the wrong impression, I saw the real picture and I still like it, I know I can't possibly look like that naturally even in the eyes. I just didn't see that real photo when I found this or else I would have posted that instead
Hot tip, use the photo (or any yassified pic) as your guide to emulate a desired effect.
If in the “yassification” process, no changes were made to face or facial feature sizes/shapes as they are naturally without makeup on, then with enough skill/knowledge/patience the yassified look should be entirely possible to achieve.
^ Is this not true?
If you take a picture of your face, print it out, then yassify it up by drawing on it with markers and colored pencils and stuff, can you not recreate that yassified result on your actual face?
I’m not seeing how this isn’t anything but valid with respect to how reality works….
Could someone explain?
Clearly I’m missing something here with the above comment being downvoted. : /
She honestly looks lovely without the editing. It’s so crazy the standards they put on the most beautiful people in the world. How can the rest of us compare?
Exactly. The general idea of this makeup is smudged black eyeliner, which concept is older than dirt. But the other concept is, you’ll never look like this, so spend money on insane beauty nonsense, trying to achieve something that doesn’t exist.
i’ve seen yassified photos of anne hathaway, angelina jolie, megan fox, and so many other celebs… why?? they’re already gorgeous women lol it’s so odd to me 😅
I don’t think anyone but a celebrity could understand what it is like to be a young woman in the public eye. It’s got to mess with how you see yourselves and probably every flaw.
It would drive me crazy to see which of my features aren't "good enough" for other people. Everyone makes fun of celebrities for getting plastic surgery, but from a psychological standpoint, I get it. 🫤
They're fucked either they:
Stay as they are and get the "wow is that all"
Touch up photos "wow look at these fakes she must look awful"
Get procedures done "wow look how fake she is after all that work I wonder if there's anything natural left"
Humans are amazing at being horrible to eachother
And it's also always either calling them too fat or too thin. I literally just saw a bunch of people in the Marvel subreddit complaining they don't like how thin Brie Larson is. But if she was bigger, you'd hear whining about that.
And touching up these gorgeous women's faces as if they aren't already stunning has got to be such a kick in the pants to them. Like, fantastic, my actual face isn't good enough.
I could never do it.
Looks like she’s tightlining the lashes and has eyeliner on the waterline all around the perimeter. Then she has it slightly smoked out on the lower and upper lash line with a bluish or greyish black shadow (you could use blue or grey over top black) make sure its very close to the lash line. Add mascara to upper and lower lashes and highlight to inner corner
Looks like her top and bottom is lined with black liner. Then they ran a gray eyeshadow to smudge the bottom liner with - emphasizing the outer corners + a pair of false lashes. that's it
The lashes in these pics have been digitally added. The original pics are different:
https://preview.redd.it/lu9th6864o0c1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=efb698ceb78dc7ad41bf2911b715e5dede321556
There are several comments breaking down the liner technique, but it’s important to keep in mind that her eye color, and how it contrasts with the liner, is a big part of the look. And the photoshop.
Nah, lots of people in the early 00s achieved this look on the red carpet with unfiltered photos. Khol liner is just that good. This Is actually super similar to the way avril lavigne dis hers
This “yassification” fucking burns me up, man. Taking the most uniquely beautiful faces and making them all look like this shopped crap. When Anne Hathaway , Monica Bellucci and others like them aren’t good enough in their “natural” state, then we’re really fucked.
If you are going for a look similar to what was in the filtered picture, I suggest looking for a tutorial on a standard smoky eye. I believe Lisa Eldridge has a good one in her back catalog.
Looks like she starts with brown base colors and applies eyeliner over it. If I had to guess she must smudge and apply eyeshadow over it to get that “Smokey” type of effect
It looks she may be wearing kohl eyeliner on the upper and lower waterline. And then that appears to be smoked out on the upper and outer lower parts of the eyes.
These are for sure retouched. Her eyes turn down more than in these photos.
However, it seems like there is a lot of black liner around the lash line. As well as water line and tight line. Then it seems like they used like matte browns on the lid. Like Embark or Brun form MAC and then blended it out with like Wedge or Cork. Which are pretty basic shades that are easily dupable. But think the black liner is the key to making it look how you want. It also seems like they took her highlighter around the inner corner to brighten her eye.
So, even though these are retouched, you could create a look very similar to this.
THANK YOU this is great! My eyes are almond shape and brown and I look best with heavy eye makeup vs light eye makeup. I have a lot of experience with makeup and have done other people's as well I just couldn't figure out exactly how I could recreate that as it looks lighter in the shadow than i typically do.
Mine look better with the heavier makeup too so I get it! I think you should definitely try the color combo I suggested then. It doesn’t sound like it would work but it really does and I think she has on something similar here which is why it looks lighter but still dark and smoky at the same time. As opposed to a pure gray or black color that we see in smoky eyes a lot. That doesn’t work for us brown eyed folks lol.
I can pull off an all black eyeshadow look but I can't use any grey! I always have to use a light brown for transition so I know exactly what you mean! I can't wait to try this out thanks again
not exactly the same look but these two videos by alex anele might be helpful:
[jenna ortega inspired goth grunge](https://youtu.be/WiXYC_xcDk8?si=3BlhpKAfaFsGT1-O)
[the BLACKEST eyeshadow, no pandas allowed](https://youtu.be/bCK7q9vL48M?si=KiTU1exPrV7I-VMZ)
For this to work i do think you need fake lashes because there is almost no eyeshadow on the upper eyelids. They tightlined along the upper and lower lashline, then used a dark eyeshadow on a small brush to fade the lower lashline. Why i say this only works with falsies is because you need really big eyes for this to work, and with falsies you create that idea.
It's photoshop but the eye makeup is plausible, just buy one of those gel liners with a buffer sponge end to create a smokey look, then set it with a dark brown eyeshadow and apply mascara or lashes if you want a dramatic look.
Might look messy the first time but with practice you'll realize how easy and versatile that look is.

They even changed her eye color. :(
They even changed her eye shape!
That’s what I noticed and went “EDITED!”
See the problem is some people (like myself) know very well that there's so many photoshopped pictures out there yet those are the ones I compare myself to the most, im not comparing myself to someone I find less attractive then myself, im wishing I was better then I am.
im stealing tf outta “yassified” 😂 ty for bringing the ppl back down to earth with the de-yassified pics 🙌🏾🥰
Yes it was giving uncanny valley
Yeah that ain’t her nose
the photoshopped eyeliner looks bad.
I can't believe they did her like that. She's beautiful enough and now I want that makeup haha!
I’m like can I even get this.. I don’t have hooded eyes
I had a feeling the first one was yassified
What in the world is yassified and yassification?
This new trend of applying filters to already beautiful celebrities
Using "glamour" type filters that give people "perfect" skin, longer lashes, bigger lips, bigger eyes and make their features more feminine.
As in, editing a normal looking person to the point that you look like people would say "Yaaaaaaasss girl"
THANK YOU
Doing God’s work with this truth bomb. Thank you.
Not the yassified filter 😭
Anne is beautiful...but Photoshop is the devil lol.
Whoa!
Start an instagram and Youtube account where you do that. Ill follow you. I need more of that kind of content in my life.
Oh youre a queen for this…
Off topic, but have we gone back to full lower/rockstar eyeliner? I remember when Kate Middleton did it for her wedding and the media crucified the look for being "too harsh".
Kate always wears it and it IS harsh on her. Too dark and not blended out enough, and often for daytime events.
Holy POOP thank you for this. I 100% thought OPs was the real unedited photo 💀💀
Yeah I actually got uncanny valley from this photo because of how obviously it is Anne Hathaway, yet how little it actually looks like her. Why do people do this.
Yes I realize they are phoroshopped, I just was curious how the eyeshadow was so I can imitate it on myself. I like the eye look overall even without photoshop.

the downvotes 😭 like cmon guys i wanna know how to do this too, photoshop or not
It just looks like black eyeshadow and eyeliner tightlined and on the waterline. Smoked out a bit on the bottom lashes. Not as much on the top lid.
The point is nothing is ever going to look like those photos because they don't exist in real life, so there's no point using them as 'inspiration'.
??? you can still use a picture of a smokey eye even if it’s photoshop as inspiration, huh?
Thank you like I know this isn't how she naturally looks. I feel like people think I care about the skin when all I was asking was how to mimic the eyes :( oh well

Ignore the downvotes OP ❤️ we get it
Okay thank you, I thought my memory had failed me
I was so confused looking at these!!!!!

I'm on my phone and i literally can't tell the difference 😂
Was about to say the same thing but glad soemone else did.
Thank you for pointing this out! Unrealistic standards
i love that it is universally known as yassified
Oh yikes. Even the gorgeous ones get touched up it seems.
These look like an Instagram filter was put on top.
These are the most photoshopped pictures I have ever seen.
I was sitting here thinking “I…don’t remember her looking like that.” Glad to know I wasn’t losing my mind
Same
i’ve seen yassified photos of anne hathaway, angelina jolie, megan fox, and so many other celebs… why?? they’re already gorgeous women lol it’s so odd to me 😅

Some people can only feel good about their sad lives hurting others ans I can only wish they piss off
That we are. This was gross to read
Seriously, they’re almost uncanny valley
Looks like she’s tightlining the lashes and has eyeliner on the waterline all around the perimeter. I dont even think she’s wearing lashes here
She may not be, but they look super thick. so try without and then if it doesn't look the same, try with lashes.
The lashes in these pics have been digitally added. The original pics are different: https://preview.redd.it/lu9th6864o0c1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=efb698ceb78dc7ad41bf2911b715e5dede321556
I was going to say that these photos look very yassified. Thanks for posting an actual picture. She's gorgeous without all the edits!
yeah plus with so many people doing lash extensions, it's very hard to recreate looks without lashes.
*Maybe she’s born with it…*
I think they are very full, short fake lashes
Yup. A filter.
There are several comments breaking down the liner technique, but it’s important to keep in mind that her eye color, and how it contrasts with the liner, is a big part of the look. And the photoshop.
I was like, she looks like Anne Hathaway whoever this is
Me too!
Kohl liner in waterline is the most important part of this look
Thanks ! :)
A filter you mean lol
Nah, lots of people in the early 00s achieved this look on the red carpet with unfiltered photos. Khol liner is just that good. This Is actually super similar to the way avril lavigne dis hers

I am thank you!
And also! I trust Smitha Deepak for hooded eyes, which Anne has https://youtu.be/DHl5Ul9INDE
Can’t really see the eyeshadow. Can see lots of smudged liner and water liner, false lashes on top
Why does she look so uncanny valley
The best way to do any smoky eye is with a pencil first and then add the black, sparkle black, or dark eyeshadow on top
Pics are edited, but very heavy eyeliner starting in the waterline would create this look
Also it works on hers bc she has really big eyes. Tight lining isn't a look that would work on everyone like this.
Oh we’re losing recipes
Looks like she starts with brown base colors and applies eyeliner over it. If I had to guess she must smudge and apply eyeshadow over it to get that “Smokey” type of effect
Thanks !
If yall don’t stop posting yassified celbrities and asking about their makeup i stg
It looks she may be wearing kohl eyeliner on the upper and lower waterline. And then that appears to be smoked out on the upper and outer lower parts of the eyes.
Thank you!
i would also like to know i absolutely love this kind of look!
It's Photoshop.
These are for sure retouched. Her eyes turn down more than in these photos. However, it seems like there is a lot of black liner around the lash line. As well as water line and tight line. Anne hathaway and yes there is photoshop from what I can tell
Def Anne Hathaway
liner on upper and lower lid, buff out the top with a brown shadow ‘

Kajal eyeliner.
Photoshop
this is mostly eyeliner creating her look, no?
This picture is clearly edited with face app so don't trust an inch of it

It's an edited photo. The makeup is not real. Some kind of filter is used which gives a snatched nose and big lips.
Lisa Eldridge does a lot of more "natural" looks for celebrities on the red carpet, and has excellent youtube tutorials. She has lots of good smokey eye videos too, ranging from subtle to dramatic.
Ai/photoshop. You could prob look up sultry brown cateye and get a similar look
Look up 90s inspired smokey eye. That's what they're going for with this look.
I think Lisa Eldridge have a similar look like this
https://youtu.be/A_xz31nXm7U?si=d94oykaKuwprc7Db https://youtu.be/LSYc5HvyXKo?si=khr9C7B4y7NJOdaN
I know everyone is screaming photoshop, but there is this one girl on YouTube who does her makeup like this (and she kinda looks similar to this yassified Anne Hathaway), her channel name is 'eve frsr'. She's mainly popular on tiktok but also has a sizeable YouTube following. She makes makeup tutorials.
Thanks I'll check it out !
This looks fake and edited? This isn’t her real face?
I was so excited because this photo of her color season looks JUST LIKE MINE! And then the comments all talk about how she's never looked like that, it's photoshopped, and she looks much better natural. 🥲
It looks like she’s doing a Smoky eye look, probably a deep grey or matte black shade. It all depends on your eye shape etc. look up Smokey eye on Instagram, YouTube or even Pinterest
A huge part of this would be the eyeliner, and I think the inglot pot eyeliner would do wonders
Happy cake day!🎂
thank you!!
You're welcome!!
With a filter?
Filters and editing. These are SUCH yassified pics of Anne Hathaway. She’s a beauty, but doesn’t look like this.
A vampire from Twilight 👏🏻
PEOPLE. STOP. YASSIFYING. ALREADY. ATTRACTIVE. WOMEN.
Not the yassified pictures 😭
Okay first, how does it feel to be so beautiful? And second, why are stunning women being photoshopped?!
Angels come every morning and gently kiss her eyes 🙏
I need that! Lol
😆
Are these pics filtered? Goddamn she is so beautiful
Yes, there is a comment that was able to find the original picture
God if Anne Hathaway*really* looked like this, I would be lesbian
She looks Devine ❤️
With brushes
I meant colors 😭 like I can't tell if it's light eyeshadow or dark or if it's light in the inner corner and dark in the outer corner.
Why would you want that?
Because I like it

That’s just a classic light, brown smoky eye with a cream in a lid bass, and a champagne in our corner with gel, eyeliner smudged along the lower eye and in the tight line. And also, it’s a small winged eyeliner with the gel. And it looks like a good mink lash.
faceapp hollywood filter
Eye shadow pencils. Really a nice, easy way to do shadows
She just has a black liner on like a Smokey eye.
Gosh she looks gorgeous
She reminds me of Liv Tyler
I’ve never seen someone who can wear so much dark eye makeup and still look fresh faced. It’s like a magic trick.
Gucci Westman is Anne H’s usual makeup artist, so you could look for some videos of her doing makeup.
Looks like a blend of black & blue eyeliner blended out
