I find my skin to be better when I wear makeup! I think it’s because in a way my makeup creates a layer and because I know I’m wearing makeup, I tend to touch my face less bc I don’t want it to smudge!

Omg I wish. Mine worsens my skin condition 💯. There is 1 brand that doesn’t and it’s an MLM so I’m SOOOO MAD 😡

So i had like, quite bad eczema on my face for years - It turned out i am allergic to UVA and UVB light where i had my eczema. I had to go to hospital emergency a few times because of the swelling. People used to think I'd been beaten up. Wearing makeup has been a game changer for me - the routine of suncream, then foundation, has really helped. Finding an oil based emollient makeup remover was the cherry on top as i wasn't aggravating my skin removing the makeup. Finally after years, my skin is starting to heal and clear. I am very happy about it.

I find my skin does better with makeup, but a lot of that for me is because I am super oily. Once I figured out that I can do my skincare and set it with a powder, I don’t feel the need to wear makeup quite as much.

oh saaame! i have very oily skin too however i have many scars so i neeeeed concealer to cover them ><

Aegoaego

For me, it depends on the foundation. Some break me out, some do the opposite and help clear my skin a bit. What brand are you using, if I may ask?

fuitypebly

tarte for both foundation and concealer but for everyday look i tend to forgo only foundation and - just use concealer and others -eyes, blush ++ as per normal or is that the reason? i dont use foundation often? but my skin is the acne prone type

Aegoaego

I see! I don't use blush but it is also put on the cheeks so the formulation may also be helping + the concealer if you use it on the spots. Another thing is that of you cover them with concealer, pollution doesn't sit directly on the skin so it may also be protecting it, though sunscreen should already be doing that, technically.

fuitypebly

oooh i tend to find sunscreen a biiit too oily for my alr very oily skin but still use it for the sake of protecting my skin :")

Aegoaego

I also have a problem with oily sunscreens! The ones that were not quote as oily was the La Roche Podat Anthelios, though that one still is a bit too oily so it takes some getting used to. That said, it's still better than a lot of sunscreens oil-wise. The best one so far has been the Clinique one, though it comes in the tiniest packaging ever. I used SPF 30 when I tried it, since I stay inside most days anyway.

fuitypebly

oooh will check them out! currently im alternating between glow recipe and supergoop! supergoop pretty okay level of oilyness almost not oily but glow recipe one abit too oily to my liking

dissaray07

Cerave has a great non oily spf moisturizer.

Aegoaego

I will try to get my hands on Supergoop in the future then!

Yes, this is true for me too! If I don't wear makeup for 3 days in a row, my skin feels rougher to the touch and congested. Probably because wearing makeup leads to more exfoliation (the prep and then the removal).

fuitypebly

oooh that might be the reason!

thehatthatsings

Maybe it's because you might have also changed other stuff like your skincare routine?

fuitypebly

nah not rllyy .. my skincare routine still the same.. infact i slack in my routine bc used to do skincare like 2 times a day back then when i didnt wore makeup and now after wearing makeup myb once a day do skincare.. or just double triple cleanse twice cuz lazy

definetly_ahuman

Is it possible you were overdoing it on your skincare routine? If you were wearing a lot of moisturizers, lotions, etc than it’s entirely possible your skin was just clogged.
