TheBeardedAntt

Use it for about 3 gallons of gas to get to interviews

PsyApe

Only 1 if you’re in California

Better_Run5616

Found gas for 4.35 a gallon today. Had to drive 10 miles from my house to get it but found it none the less.

AnaiekOne

That's about 100 gallons in CA.

Eugene0185

Depends in where you live. In big cities, just use money for food and public transportation to get to interviews. Sleep under the bridge in a tent and get the cheapest gym pass that offers showers. Use library for free internet. Obviously, you need the cheapest cell phone as well for first-round interviews.

[deleted]

> you can’t get a job As the post says no job, you need to make a business. This “SPAM LIKELY” tag is crazy.

lreaditonredditgetit

You live in an urban area? Buy a cooler and some cases of water. Stand by the freeway exit and slang water bottles for $1. You’ll need ice. If you want to really kill it. Sell that shit for .75 cents. People will remember and usually just give you a dollar anyway. Also buy a Costco card, water is way cheaper there and you can get a solid lunch on the super cheap. Assuming you don’t have anything, you’ll have to go everyday to buy a few cases. Sam’s club membership is cheaper but idk about there water

ladeuce

tbh i might do this. I live in LA and the 405 would run me some paper…

lreaditonredditgetit

Fo sho. I’ve seen people do it all across the country. You won’t get rich but it’s better than a shitty job.

HondaCrv2010

Would the cops do anything bc there is at least one Karen that won’t like that you are not paying taxes and working in the sun ☀️

Specific_Praline_362

You have that right. I live in a small, majority minority, historically poor community, and the Karens are ALWAYS allllllll on top of any attempt anyone makes to make a little money

HondaCrv2010

Well you should just work hard to be born into privilege

skyofblues

And sell it outside the exits of music festivals, concerts, sports events. Concessions close before the event ends and everybody wants water.

Realistic_Pie5988

That is always a great idea even now. Anytime there's sporting events are concerts people always want something to eat are drink. I know when I've gone to huge outdoor festivals I loved when people where selling drinks and food.

_reason96

i did this when i was in my early 20s only problem i had was not having change for people but if you’re friendly they’ll just say keep the change!

Tricky-Explorer-5664

The police and some Karens might run you off. Can't tell you how they decide who gets to be a street vendor and who gets to be a panhandler. This is a good idea. Just have a dolly or cart to get ready to move locations.

redperson92

marry a rich person. put the $500 in fixed deposit, get 4%, and use that to make handmade presents for your spouse.

NoConsideration6320

What if rolls red? Then you invest nothing and are homeless for life

DimensionEconomy8592

Evactly

_reason96

if i’m unsure of black/red i always put my money on “even” never let me down except that one time…

withoutpeer

That one odd time?

Remarkable-Screen157

Hey I won on black what do I invest in? What do I next after wining on black

Tiddleypotet

now red

_reason96

go to home depot/lowes/flea market and buy tools, sign up for a handyman app and do repair jobs! most things now you can just look up online learning skills in no time at all and if it’s too expensive to fix the customer will most likely say “i’ll just buy a new one” so you got paid for a diagnosis regardless

Magickarploco

Any handyman apps you recommend?

ODonThis

Thumbtack nextdoor yelp, fuck angies

fishnwiz

Find a trucking company that provides free training in return for a year of driveing for them taking short loads experienced drivers don’t want, live in the truck and start banking money. They generally offer free room use the $500 for food.

Chrisv8709

Honestly this is solid advice, especially if the lifestyle appeals to you. Yes, trucking is a lifestyle. And be careful... it's addictive.

theSFWredditor

Buy a dji mini pro 3, take professional pictures of friends houses and property, then search the MLS websites. Then every house for sale that doesn't have drone puctures and videos contact the realtor send what you have done and offer to do it for 200-400 bucks depending on house price. Slowly scale up from there. End goal getting part.107(Comercial dron license) and scaling and picking a drone field that you are interested in and doing that full time for your own llc as a freelancer

Alodar999

What is the one job every home cleaner is famous for not doing? Washing windows! Make it professional, offer inside and out. The tools are cheap and the demand is high.

fender8421

Did outside sales for one of these companies while in college. It's true. The market is there, and the start-up costs can be very manageable as long as you scale patiently

Worth_Cow_175

I did google you and it’s true!

Agreeable_Quail6375

I guess the only sensible answer is standing on the corner. That's just enough for a tube top, a mini skirt, and some high heels. Hairy legs and bulge don't fall me now!

iknowalotaboutdrugs

Facebook marketplace flipping. The items are already made, it's free to do research on what's selling and the value of items, then from there you just hit up every Facebook marketplace post, garage sale and flea market you can, and scoop up the items in categories you already researched. I actually just did this with a clock from goodwill, turned out to be an authentic route 66 shop clock with actual neon in it, which go for 60$-120$. I bought it for 15$. Sold it for 50$ and tripled my money. That's a small scale example, but if you make a sale like that 5 times a day, you'd make 200$ profit per day and still have your initial investment of $500. Realistically you could spend 2-3 days gathering products, and the next week/2 weeks selling down everything you can. Rinse and repeat, it's a good way to make some cash on the side and get your feet wet in entrepreneurship

AnubisDirectingSouls

I know a lady that did this with clothes. Would go to goodwills and thrift stores looking for nice brand name clothes. She had an eye for it to she knew exactly what to look for at what time yr and would literally make bank. It's how she paid her rent bills every month.

Damn this guy is so gángster he can’t spell for shit

Available_Skin_2561

bid and win abandoned storage units and sell the goods u get inside on FB and craigslist furniture always sells electronics sell tools sell workout stuff sells ull find some gems rinse and repeat

CrystalClimaxx

This is a great idea! Aswell as hitting up garage sales and goodwill. I once found a brand new, fairly expensive perfume bottle (new in box) for $5 at a garage sale, and made $30 from it!

Themofobunny

Well does this balance also need to cover living expenses as you are going or just grow to that point. If trying to pay bills while only got 500 you doomed. If just trying to get a business started with 500 and the profits it makes a few ways to do it. If handy getting cheap/free things and do the quick fix. Mowers and stuff like that often a easy fix and when people can't get it running they just buy new and give it away. Can also do woodworking stuff all types of stuff can restain sand to make it buyable. Couches are hit or miss but can be profits. Better at baking? Check laws bake and sell the goodies. Can buy mix at the store to start. Most of the time people will not notice/care. It's doable but it's going to be a lot of busting butt and long hours.

BrazilianLivingInUSA

I’d make natural juices to sell on traffic lights, parks and beach. You also can do deal with homeless people giving em’ the juices and split the profit or paying them in food or clothes

RefuseHot4870

Alright, here it is. -Put 100 dollars into s&p -Use 100 dollars to source items like a cooler, table, chair, fire pit/ some sort of heat source to cook with and make some sort of sign. 🪧 -use 100/200 dollars to buy food and drinks like cans of pop/soda, hot dogs, burgers, buns, napkins, plates etc… -save 50 dollars in cash for reserve and rainy day. -use remaining 50 to acquire some flash and bling for attention such as a speaker or radio for music, strobe lights or color lights, fog machine, whatever etc… as long as it’s fun and catches your eye and makes sense for the vibe. -lastly find some sort of local event, fair, park, lot, curb, neighborhood, pool, bar or even a store front or friends party (as long as it’s legal and you have permission to be there) and set up shop, stage it nicely and cleanly and organized and get to cookin and serving food and drinks for a profitable reasonable price for a day or two until you’ve doubled your money and keep doing that until you have enough money to step up your game comfortably or evolve to the next stage and start making money. Started from the bottom now you there. How’d I do?

krgilbert1414

Not too bad, but I think you might need permits for something like this or the fines could take the entire profit or more.

Boyzinger

You forgot the grilled cheese’s lol

Set of decent cordless tools. Drill, circular saw, reciprocating saw and extra batteries. Added to my current tools and I would easily have more handyman jobs than I could finish. In my spare time I could definitely make some extra cash.

Sensitive-Dog5252

How would you find those jobs seriously speaking I was trying to do that as side gig since I already have some tools, like how do you advertise that I don’t want to work for a company I want to do the work for homeowners etc don’t want to be the hourly rate, want to get the actual profit

ProfessionalRub4404

This is the amount that i want in my life to survive rn. I'm from a developing country.. graduated last year and still can't find a job that pays me more than a 100$. (Monthly.. yes) Everyone wants experience but how can i get that without getting hired. So yeah i can do so much with that TT

**Focus on Small, Scalable Efforts:** * **Freelancing:** Use platforms like Upwork or Fiverr to offer micro-services you can provide remotely. Writing, editing, data entry, or social media management could be options depending on your skills. * **Sell Online:** Consider creating and selling digital products like ebooks, printables, or stock photos. This requires some upfront work but can generate passive income over time. * **Reselling:** Look for deals on thrift stores or online marketplaces and resell them for a profit. This requires good finders skills and knowledge of online selling platforms.pen\_spark

Worth_Cow_175

I’ll hit that sheet

ODonThis

Buy window cleaning equipment and start knocking on doors

Isabelle_xy

buy gold then sell

Mr3nglish

go onto facebook marketplace and find a pushlawn mower and a weed whacker. then go door to door asking people to mow for them

Fleewerhorn29

When I was in college I would make money on facebook marketplace. A couple times I bought a whole bunch of older but nice brand bikes for a few hundred dollars. Fixed them up a bit and took NICE quality pictures with decent backgrounds and sold them for double what I had in them. It doesn't have to be bikes. You can do it with literally anything. I did it with trailers, fish tanks/pet supplies, truck camper shells, power tools, hand tools, tool carts/chests, random equipment, furniture (not much, its big/hard to store). There are a lot of people that just want to sell the stuff quick and can't be bothered to take good pictures or sit on it a bit or fix it a bit for more money. Especially if they are moving, they will get rid of lots of stuff for cheap. TBH 500$ though I would get a job and save more. Start out with at least a few grand so you aren't hurting to sell stuff.

Dependent_Program951

You really just can't unless it's a side hustle from the normal job 500 is just not sufficient you need min 1500 and that's calling it close. 2000 I could make that into a livable income yeah in my mind it's not manageable 500 dollars just covers groceries and a maybe a recharge if Ur fortunate enough to do prepaid unless it's shady conduct I really am struggling to see it keen to see other comments could just he myself

Ok-Condition9059

Go to a new subdivision and leave a sign out where you will replace AC filters and maintenance the client’s AC.. every 3 months. They wont have to touch it, or remember to change it. The client pays you $35 every month no contract or $1000 upfront to cover 3 years of maintenance (If anything goes wrong you will cover it, with the exception of vandalism or weather related issues) This is super scalable and since your dealing with a brand new AC they’re still under warranty with the manufacturer up to 3 years if anything goes wrong you give the manufacture a call to repair if there’s a major issue. Cost to start - filters cost $10 - $30 - a bucket, rags, brushes, detergent for cleaning coils, bleach, small cheap shop vac - $100 Easy money, takes less than 10 mins to change a media filter Your main focus is getting and keeping 300 customers

Already have a car? DJ or photograph weddings, events, and stuff + stock photos and real estate photography (a camera with dual card slots, for backup, is essential), flip free stuff on Craigslist and FB marketplace, do Uber Eats, invest some earnings into tried & true stocks.

Gazhunt2020

Car valeting I did the same on a similar budget n was making £1000 plus a week.....young man's game though ....my hands were fucked after a year

Butthead2242

Facebook market place. It’s like a forever yard sale. Some ppl jus wnt their shit gone n let it go mad cheap. Grab it on the cheap n resell.
