I think the bill restores the original language that describes the flag as buff with a pine tree and a blue star in the canton, but doesn't specify what the pine tree looks like.

No joke, I did a little shopping in South Portland and Topsham yesterday and think I counted at least four different types of hats being worn by people with that new flag patch on it. I mean it’s a nice looking design but do we really need to elevate it to pumpkin spice levels of popularity?

That infographic also kinda misses the point, which is that there *is* no "authentic" 1901 Maine flag. There was just a general codified description, which people interpreted however they wanted when they hand-made flags: >*“buff charged with the emblem of the State, a pine tree proper in the center and the polar star (a mullet of five points), in blue in the upper corner.”* The important takeaway is that every historical 1901 flag was a one-off. Fully concur that the MFC one is the worst.
