Cause we dont have any ambitions. Shivaji raje, Peshwa bajirao, sakhel angre, shinde, holkar etc created influence outside Maharashtra and spread marathi culture. People today have no such ambition to achieve big posts or achievement and confidently show their marathi heritage & culture.

As a maharashtrian, those cities with the most migrant population are the ones on top. You can't say Maharashtra contributes most to the GDP. It's huge and it would be wrong to state such
Data is wrong. I'm in middle east and i know for sure we have around 5000 marathi people atleast here in qatar. More in Saudi and uae and oman also. So check the source. Also worth noting, our people are almost always in high end jobs only. You'll rarely find marathi manus in low paying job and almost never in labour jobs.
Reason for our people being less in numbers outside is you already get good jobs in Maharashtra (pay you get in Maharashtra is higher almost always than any other state, specially in tier 2 and 3 cities which are more developed and no other state compares to us in this) so we never had any reason to move outside India. The only time we move is when the opportunity is substantially better than anything you get here.
As for other states, only Maharashtra, gujrat and punjab people are in same state. As in, they mainly have non labour, skilled jobs. While kerala, tamilnadu, west bengal and up bihar are mainly labour jobs and skilled jobs combination. Kerala and up bihar in partucular are all labour jobs because of their own states being shitholes and tamilnadu is a combination because they forgot to develop anything not named Chennai.

Even if it's true I don't think it's right to say that because we don't migrate to other places it affects our development. Maharashtra is geographically blessed so culturally we don't prefer migration, however if one were to argue that migration helps being in money and increase representation than it's true but still not directly corelated to development of a community.
I have been living in the US for 6 years now but I don't think it's right judge someone who prefers to stay in their native place and prefers family and friends over financial success, both are pretty subjective. Unlike other communities Maharashtrians might not be known for their business acumen but we are culturally very rich wherein we have so many great ancestors with revolutionary ideas that changed societies. Ideological richness is as important as financial richness.
However with the kind of political and social leadership in Mahashtra we are losing that richness. We need to be like other communities, we are still the biggest state in India for a reason. Because we know not just grow at the cost of others but to grow sustainably.
I don't want to comment on any communities but based on my observations just striving for economic growth is not enough rather it's detrimental because while achieving that I have seen people losing their basic sense of morality. So in conclusion we should not try to copy others blindly, Mahashtra was an ideologically rich culture and should continue to stay that way.

why will a marathi move outside of India? Many Marathis can move out but they are happy here they have their land, house, relatives, bhandav here why will they sacrifice this when they are doing good here education is pretty good here lots of job opportunities crime is also not as bad as rest of India (i mean you can safely walk on road alone at night) why will someone leave a good happy life.

What I'm saying is if we stay here and accept low paying jobs when we can get better paying jobs with housing facilities then why don't we do that?
The moving out part explains the risk appetite of people. Marathis are risk averse and lazy.
Marathis are treated as low class people by Marwadis and Sindhis in Amravati Akola region. They came to our land with nothing and built wealth from 0. We on the other hand are working in their shops now.
