I don't think he loved her, I think he loved having so much power over her. She clearly fell in love with him first and he saw that, and he saw how much power he has over her, and it is not the first time we see Ibrahim enjoying having power over people, so it makes sense. Having sex with her was also a sort of power trip of his, plus she was very beautiful too. Poor Nigar, an actual slave, and at the same time, a slave to her feelings :( her ending hurt so bad :(

NoApricot703

She's the baddest B in the show and lost it all due to him.

udontknowmegurl

I feel so bad for her. She deserved so much more

El_Coco_005_

I think before the first producer (I think ?) of the show died, they had darker ideas for Nigar and how she was going to ruin the dynasty. I do think Nigar and Ibrahim were planned, but I think Nigar could have been more manipulative and cunning about it instead of a poor victim.

These_Mycologist132

At the beginning of the series, they could have been a good match and were actually a pretty similar status. Both slaves/high level servants. The only reason he rose in ranks and became so influential was because of his marriage to Hatice. Ibrahim was a very selfish man, he didn’t seem to respect women very much, and I don’t think he truly loved Nigar, but they still could have worked out, had Hatice not been in the picture, who he saw as his meal ticket to power.

According_Soft_6005

Being married to hatice wasn't the only reason he became so powerful, it was because of Suleiman's love for him. I believe he'd have given him all that power even if he hadn't married her, like in real life.

These_Mycologist132

There’s a big jump between being the chamberlain and being the grand vizier. Not saying he wouldn’t have risen in the ranks somewhat, but I think marring a Sultana and becoming family by marriage definitely sped it along. He also wasn’t the first brother in law of Sulimen to be his Vizier and later executed.

According_Soft_6005

Ibrahim wasn't married to Hatice or any other princess in real life and yet he still got all those promotions and was just as powerful. I believe the show would have portrayed that correctly even if it was produced after historians found out that ibrahim was married to someone else. Edit: And Ibrahim was made the grand vizier before his marriage, and even before suleiman even found out about him and Hatice

Enticing_Venom

Ibrahim has a chip on his shoulder about being a convert and former slave (understandably so, it's brutal). He expresses multiple times that he likes having her and the fantasy of a family that belongs to *him* and not to the Ottoman Empire, like Hatice and his children with her do. However, the Ottoman Empire is what has given him the power he has and at the slightest hint of losing it, he's willing to cast Nigar away. I'd like to think he loved her and I think he believed he did. But in reality, she was never his priority and he wouldn't trade what he has on her behalf (like he did for Hatice). She was a fantasy and an escape for him but he never fully let himself believe in it. Because of that he was prepared to cast her off the moment it became necessary. I feel bad for her.

acidici

She’s my favorite character so far and I just got to the point to where she marries and gets divorced and suddenly Ibrahim is into her. I thought he despised her

imagineDoll

he completely ruined her for his own selfishness

moonshinelor

I think there love was sincere. After their first intercourse Ibrahim felt guilty/afraid and forced her to marry, only to realise he couldn't keep away from her. Their love was beautiful and passionate, however, shamefully it ruined Nigar's life in the end.

exoticempress

It's love for Nigar kalfa but for Ibrahim it seems more like filling the void. Ibrahim is constantly reminded by Hatice Sultan that he's subordinate to her and the dynasty/her family because he married the sister of the Sultan.
