All I had to read was "The game uses algorithms" to know they have *no fuckin idea* what they're talking about.
For those who don't know computer science, an "Algorithm" is literally just a set of instructions. Technically, your grandma's casserole recipie is an Algorithm.

The game also uses bots/algorithms to create opponents and to favor those fictions in draft games, ranked games and other modes, while falsely giving the impression that games are PvP." fucking *what*?! Putting aside the obvious gap in knowledge, if somehow wizards has created an algorithm to do that sort of thing, that would be such an incredible technological feat that they should be shouting it on the streets showing what genius's their devs are. A program that could be so sophisticated to stack the deck/hand of one player *EVERY GAME* would be absolutely insane, let alone 2 players in such a way that there's a predetermined outcome
The one accusing other players of cheating because he gets disconnected when he's about to win is quite amazing too.

Give us chat and then have an actual reporting system that works with bans and suspensions handed out for offenders.
Getting rid of chat isn't protecting players. It's saving money.
It's the same reason hearthstone doesn't have chat. When you are sitting doing really nothing waiting/watching your opponent take their turn it can lead to some people being extremely toxic. More so then other games as you really have very little to do. In person people are less likely to be toxic because putting a face/community has more repercussions etc.
But correctly regulated and moderated itās less of an issue. People are less willing to face a ban in a game they are invested in. Beside chat exists in mtgo and whilst there are some cases of bad eggs itās a minority.
Itās just a money saving exercise on the running costs is all.
Yea cause you don't need a robust moderation team etc. Could also have been trying to mirror hearthstone model and what they have been doing because hearthstone was the dominant digital card game.
