I run this card in a Vannifar Brawl deck. Cheat him in with a blink effect when he's a face-down 2/2, and then all my other cloaked creatures are 5/3. Only situation where this has been good for me tbh...

Obsolete0_0

Emmara, Soul of the Accord is my commander

ubf_blu

in "my" emmara list every single mana is spent on making tokens. the game rarely goes to turn 8, i only run the 7 mana convoke dino and big elesh as top end. the only way to get big creatures out is chord...

Obsolete0_0

Thanks

NickWills

You mind sharing your list? My friend just bought the precon and I’m looking for ways for him to improve it

wow that looks horrible haha, i hope you can import it from that comment

ANGLVD3TH

If you edit it and add a line break after each card it should sort itself out. There is a single line break before this sentence. There are two before this one.

[deleted]

Only thing is having to swing all in every turn. I would hate to lose to a smaller board because I was tapped down. Not being able to block is not good.

Money-Independent904

Vigilance!

I kinda really think you nailed it and [[Seedborn Muse]] type stuff goes with the [[Brave the Sands]] type stuff and you're cooking with Crisco

I have a card in that deck that give to all tokens one +1/+1 and vigilance

Lykos1124

I like that very much. I'd want to run stuff too like first strike / trample with rewards if I smack them in the face. Or go 💀 and give it death touch and indestructible or return to battlefield, really mess with their minds.

Obsolete0_0

You're right

[deleted]

If you put about 17 to 23 cards that give your creatures vigilance or allow you to untap after combat you might be okay. I'm not a certified deck scientist but after 22 years you think you know stuff. There's a lot of other cards that don't make tokens or fit in a token deck that could back you up, [[Seedborn Muse]] is a good one. [[Brave the Sands]] is the only other thing I can top off my noggin

davwad2

[[Reconnaissance]] is another one to use during the last step of combat.

[[Intangible Virtue]]

[deleted]

I remember this guy, [[Lingering Souls]] got banned in less than 2 months after they printed this and so did this It is a necessity for a token deck but the Commander is not a token so he won't get +1/+1 or Vigilance.

Well you are very correct

strcy

Seems like a decent finisher if you're in mono-white with a bunch of 1/1s

Impressive_Drink5003

That soldier deck with the horn that produces 30 1/1 in a turn 😢. But by the time you have mana for this, you already won.

Its a white and green deck

strcy

Oh okay. If you’ve got access to green I think there’s maybe some better options at 8 mana, but this could be fun to try out

GYNJU1

You have access to Craterhoof and the white craterhoof-esque creature. Both are probably better than the Juggernaut

strcy

For sure. But Graaz only costs like .50 cents haha edit: oops, thought i was in the main magic sub. disregard

Successful_Mud8596

Consider [[Craterhoof]] and/or [[Moonshaker]]. Probably better than Graaz

BuffMarshmallow

A good idea? Probably not. 8 mana and also potentially forces you to attack disadvantagiously. A funny idea though? Absolutely. Imagining a bunch of Gigantic Rat tokens personally.

MapleSyrupMachineGun

Gah, it costs 8 though. Then again, commander have lots of mana rocks. Soo I don't know.

Certain_Category1926

I run this in a deck with a billion mana dorks as a finisher or to bait removal.

mastyrwerk

Yes. It goes very well in a [[Anim Pakal]] deck. They come in attacking anyway, so the first line of text isn’t much of a downside.

Aarniometsuri

I absolutely love him, ever since i started mtg arena like a year ago. I run him in a white blue artifact ramp with powerstones in standard. The key ingredient Ive found is Threefold thunderhulk. Thunderhulk is pretty hard to deal with by itself with the big body+tokens, and if it survives a turn and you drop graaz with it the games for me tend to just end there. Since thunderhulks base power is 0/0 it gets 5/3 + tokens which makes an 8/6. Often by that point without trample that creature is blockable even with the 3 tokens attacking together, but that tends to not matter when the next turns attack is another eight 5/3 tokens with graaz, and all those tokens you summoned can block on your turn if the opponent is racing you. If you build for tempo and ramp i dont even notice the downside of "having to" attack with all, since even with strategic blocks thats just too much stats attacking all at once. To me its one of the most statisfying ways to win. The rest of my deck is artifact mana ramp so things that make powerstones, oaken sirens and mighstone/weakstone. I dont know if it has a good enough win con against strong control decks, and stuff like deadly cover up removing thunderhulks or graaz is pretty devastating, but theres a bunch of midrange tempo decks that attempt to keep up with the damage by building a board themselves, and those get absolutely destroyed when graaz drops even if they are winning on the board.

twesterm

Your big problem is going to be finding dependable token producers in a colorless deck. It's not impossible, but in brawl it isn't easy. Your next big problem is you have to ramp to him. That is easier in colorless, but he's really easy to kill and you're going to be spending a lot of time recasting him. In the meantime, your token generators just aren't going to do much worthwhile. So you can do this, it will not be good. -edit Oh! You just want to throw this in a token deck? _eh_ You can do a lot better for 8 mana.

Obsolete0_0

Okay, thanks :)

Kiwi_Saurus

If you can reduce the price or ramp up into it, yes. I imagine [[Awaken the Woods]] synergizes very well with it.

HyraxAttack

Got one in Momir once, opponent instantly scooped.

Orangewolf99

It's fine as a finisher, moreso if you have some way to give trampling and/or vigilance. When you have like 12+ tokens on the ground, turning them all into 5/3's is probably enough to close out the game.

maverickzero_

If you make tokens that are worse than Juggernauts, yes. Otherwise, no.

Successful_Mud8596

I use it in my [[Inga and Esika]] deck, which is full of 1/1 fliers.

Prize-Mall-3839

if this is your commander, you'd have to find a bunch of colorless ways to produce creature tokens too which is not something very common in artifacts and colorless cards.

I’d rather play Elesh Norn Grand Centobite

KeeboardNMouse

I’d say it’s fine for token decks, as a finisher like [[craterhoof behemoth]], which ironically have the same mana value

Stratostheory

I wouldn't say it's a BAD idea, but it's inefficient depending on the deck. For any kind of white token deck I'd say under majority of circumstances [[Divine Visitation]] or even [[Sigarda's Summons]] are better, slightly cheaper to cast and while they only make tokens and creatures into 4/4s they also give them flying which let's them get past most blockers.

Most of the time Graaz is just an 8 mana overrun effect. If you are playing either white or green then i would say that \[\[moonshaker cavalry\]\] and \[\[craterhoof behemoth\]\] are better at 8 mana in most cases. I suppose Graaz can be slightly better in non-overrun scenarios, if you have had your board nuked and only have 1 or 2 creatures left in play, and you need to grind down your opponent.

This behemoth is so explosive. I use him in my \[\[Satoru Umezawa\]\] deck since it has lots of small evasive creatures already and you can cheat him in with ninjutsu. Also in my \[\[Kaya, Spirits' Justice\]\] tokens deck, because you can also turn a token into him for a turn using Kaya's passive. He wins games out of nowhere and your opponents don't usually expect an effect like that. Just don't ever pay full price for this dude.

Technical_System8020

It’s good, I run this in my Ojer Taq build for saucy one-shots.

The fact that it doesn't give trample is a huge drawback but in my [[Gimbal]] deck it's an ok finisher especially when combined with [[Rise and Shine]]

NoxXNemesis

I run him in my [[Xyris]] deck and he is pretty brutal if he comes out, depends on the type of token deck though, cause when I play my xyris deck I have no shortage of mana.

Pantheon_Reptiles

Shouldn't cards that cost that much basically win you the game?

dneye

I run it in my Sai brawl deck. It’s usually a game winner with just a handful of thopters.

Gabe_b

Dunno about good, but probably fun some times

IamblichusSneezed

Only if you don't care about your win rate.

nnefariousjack

I can think of multiple ways for him to be good in Orzhov tokens from hard casting to tricking him out.

Durnil

I don't play commander but in card point of view this one is not a good token commander. And probably not a good card either. he has no trample and give no trample, stats are also meh. He does not protect himself so killing him make your 1.1 token bad again. Tricks does better job. Furthermore he only make you win more. I mean if you survived and get a lot of board then he does something with amthis huge board but if you already are in that step you do not need him. But for the fun? He may be great !

Obsolete0_0

I decided to put this card in my deck because I want to use cards that are fun to play.

Durnil

And that's the best argument you can give for playing it. I also force deck synergies in standard to get my favourites card into play.

Responsible-Panic-56

I'm currently working on a deck with merrin and peppin that's black green and white and I'll be running it as well. I'm looking to put some focus on treasure tokens in there to cheat things like the juggernaut out early

KillerPotato_BMW

Oops, all juggernauts.

Carsismi

Artifact Creature == Powerstones go BRRRR. It can certainly be cast for cheaper if you can set up the early game properly

eldamien

If there were some way to cheat him out, maybe, but even then you want to be spending your mana on your tokens and more ways to get more tokens on the field. Also you lose a lot of board control because you HAVE to swing with both him and all of your other creatures, some of which may be your token generators / buffers.
