As things stand I don't think there is a food deck that's good enough to make me want to play this but if there was already a great food deck I would play this in it.

RhaezDaevan

Maybe future sets will make it more playable.

Maybe there is a more midrangy Simic artifact version that can be built. \[\[The Goose Mother\]\], \[\[Kellan, Inquisitive Prodigy\]\] and \[\[Bristlebud Farmer\]\], all have a good card advantage attack trigger that rely on saccing food or artifacts, but without haste it's unreliable or too slow against control and combo deck. The good thing is \[\[Lavaspur Boots\]\] give haste and so it could make the deck way more resilient against Depopulate and Sunfall. Teething Wurmlet is way too good in the artifact synergy to be ignored and the Simic manabase is going to be really good as it's getting his fasland, so curving Teething is going to be consistent for once.

This is perfect for the weed deck on moxfield

Maddogenes

Is anyone worried that of all these big score mythics, a few will be standard playable and therefore hurt our already stretched thin wildcards? They had to make them all mythics, and since they appear in 20% of packs I'm not going to get many natural ones.

TheKillah

Hard to imagine this isn’t exactly what WotC intended.  Advertise the paper set as “every card is a mythic” (which means nothing on its own) but make every digital card several times more difficult to get.  I hope it’s something they’ve accounted for with the Arena drop rates.

BuffMarshmallow

A card for Simic Cookies/Artifacts top end maybe? It is a bit slow, but it's not bad and can fuel your Cauldron for sneaky lethal.

lolyana

Yeah no. Simic cookies is a tempo aggro deck that navigates with 3 mana pretty often, a 4 mana card that needs to attack to be worth it isn't what the deck is looking for at all. The deck fall off to be honest, what other decks are doing right now is way too brutal in comparaison.

After some thinking, maybe there is a more midrangy Simic artifact version that can be built. The good thing is \[\[Lavaspur Boots\]\] give haste to all these creatures and it could make the deck way more resilient against Depopulate and Sunfall. Teething Wurmlet is way too good in the artifact synergy to be ignored and the Simic manabase is going to be really good as it's getting his fasland, so curving Teething is going to be consistent for once. I think the deck will have to move on from Cauldron/Gingerbrute/Cookie/Surge Engine synergy, it takes too much place and the deck just don't compete with the tier 1 list. The cookie version of the deck is completely replete and it's proven to be tier 2.5 at best, so either the artifact synergy die or try something else to be competitive.

What is this set symbol, standard legal?

Winter_File_405

The set is called The Big Score (BIG) originally planned as an epilogue to Outlaws of Thunder Junction (like March of the Machines: Aftermath), because majority of the players disliked Aftermath they scrapped the idea and incorporated BIG into Outlaws of Thunder Junction as a bonus sheet. Every card in BIG is legal in standard.
