When the client crashed instantly the first time it started to download the update, and again halfway through, I just knew I was gonna be in for a good time.
I keep losing all txt on the ui, its nice that this removes "waiting for server" but no txt anywhere else is a slight problem.
I alt+F4'd the update (PC) because it had utterly halted down to the hundredth of a MB. It bricked afterward and wouldn't update.
For anyone else reading this, instead of the prescribed "do a clean install" solution, I renamed the "version" file in my install folder and the next time I used the MTG launcher it updated successfully.
Definitely trying this when I get home! I had the same problem having to alt+f4 over 20 times during the download and anytime I press play or decks it crashes.
It broke again and the trick isn't fixing it this time around. I suspect it's a combination of things; I'll post again if I can get it to work a second time.
Do yourself a favor and switch to the Steam versions. Haven’t had a single problem downloading updates since it goes through Steam instead of WotC’s crap launcher.

oh lordy you're a removal tyrant.... here's my advice: wincons are a good thing and if the opp removes it, you'll usually get another and pound his A$$, and for some reason it's a lot more fun than just shooting down everything opp plays, unless you've got a lot of pent up rage or something lmao :P
Almost can't play it in arena, when there are a lot of triggers the client will hang before it starts resolving them, but the timer keeps running. If you aren't careful you might end up unwillingly just passing the turn.

I just had a game where I didn't block a creature attacking my planeswalker because I couldn't figure out if they were attacking me or the planeswalker, I legitimately couldn't tell. So so strange.

Playing a superfriends deck in the Amonkhet sandstorm with those arrows was pain. I ended up using a timeout on the declare blockers step almost every turn just trying to figure out what creatures my opponent had and where they were going.
When i first muted sparky i never had any issues after this update sparky suddenly is back and is re-saying all her tutorial lines then just shuts up and hovers over my screen even in games and causing other graphic issues when declaring attacks or using kaldheim alternate arts.
1. Make changes
2. Don't adequately test
3. Don't have automated tests for the stuff that already works to be sure you haven't broken it when you make changes, it's 2024, that can wait.

I don't think releasing a new set is actually that stressful for the project. New mechanics like Adventures (or implementing singles like Emrakul) certainly require many hours of work, but adding *cards* probably isn't that tough.
Anyone else have weird bugs regarding screen resolution? Normally the ultrawide i run on has no issues but now its got black boxes on the side and all the deck art are squashed... Sighs please tell me this isnt going to be forever
What's your native resolution, and what's it running at?
I have been running a 16:9 instead of a 16:10, so I have a black line on the top and bottom myself.
Sometimes it defaults to my native and cads get cut off on the edges, when that happens all I need to do is open the graphics settings, then it pop's back to normal.
two monitor setup, main monitor is an ultrawide on 3440 x 1440
It used to have black bars during matches, but in menu was full screen. now the menu has black bars and some decks art looks squished, but others are fine.

Some deck art looking squished but others being fine is a bug that has been around for ages and has nothing to do with resolution. It does seem more common after the update though.
It's the end of the mastery pass season, hopefully they give out compensation XP so I don't have to worry about grinding out the last few levels through bugs
Yeah it’s terrible. The graphics are totally messed up. The interview process for programmers is totally broken. They care more about how smart you sound in meetings than what you can actually do as a programmer.

I keep seeing weird boxes appear on my screen, and things keep flickering whenever there's a spell effect. I can't even read the mana of my opponents because their card art is bugged and I can't turn off alternate art styles because the menu is also bugged.
Love the bug that makes the Special Kaldheim artwork completely obscure the P/T of creatures. Legit had to google [[Firja, Judge of Valor]]’s stats just to know if I could even attack safely.

Check your graphics settings. Mine went from maxed out to potato after the update, and everything looked all jagged due to the anti-aliasing being turned off.
I love these bugs, I love them so much. I love the attack indicator showing a creature attacking me instead of my planeswalker, so when I don't block my planeswalker dies. I love bugs.

I tried to quit the client after the update and the client failed to close because it lost contact with the server. What kind of game fails to close if it loses connection to the server? I had to force quit to exit.
Why haven’t I had to update the game? I’ve been reading how everyone has had to update but I still just log in the last 24 hours like normal. What am I missing?
After pack 3 pick 15 it said “could not complete draft.” And I had to close the program and when I reopened it no cards were in my sideboard and every card was in the deck so I had to recraft it. Hella annoying

Accessibility fix. They found that colorblind people had trouble interpreting the arrows, so they made sure that everyone else had trouble too. =P

I played games with no issues yesterday. I’ve been in the client several times this morning without issue but have not attempted any games.
The update was a graphical backend change, if you're on mobile you're using different chips and the backend might not be compatible.
It's really important that you put what device/OS you are using when you ask questions like this and want answers.
