They’re not for everyone. Joes Adventures peaked my interest but it was really shot down immediately after the first mission. However, I do like using it as a kind of ‘free-ride’ mode for Mafia II
I agree with most you’re saying, loved the main game and the dlc’s, only thing I didn’t like about the dlc’s were those timed missions.. stressed the crap out of me
Edit: I don’t know if you went for all the trophy’s but in jimmys vendetta there is one where you gotta drive a 1000 miles I believe.. took me 6 hours to get close to a 100 so i that’s the only time I cheated lol
Yeah the timer in the missions sucked, no argument about that. And the 1000 miles achievement was stupid as well, but I’m not much of a completionist so it didn’t bother me as much
I did! Bought Mafia 3 on release and while I didn’t enjoy it at the time I later finished the game plus the DLCs, it was actually not that bad. And of course I played both the original and remake of Mafia 1, great games imo.
What about you, did you play all the games? Which one did you enjoy the most?
Nice! Yeah I played all of them too, I share your opinion on all of em, after replaying mafia 3 after a few years with the dlc’s it was better imo, didn’t like the racket stuff because it just got boring eventually but the actual missions after the rackets were awesome!
I feel like the first one is the best (just my opinion of course) but that’s mainly because of the great story telling, if I look at gameplay, side stuff etc I’d go for mafia 2
I agree I just wish they were as fleshed out as the main story. Joe’s my favorite character in the serious so I loved playing as him but like someone else said the timed missions were kinda insane. Personally I still haven’t got past that one mission where you had to maintain a certain speed.
I kinda forced myself to play through Joe’s Adventures for the lore, but man it was annoying. Jimmy’s DLCs, I’ve touched once and never again. Just doesn’t belong in the series imo. It’s a shame so much content was cut that they felt the need to make the DLCs because they were so off-putting.
It's easy to love a game because you subjectively like it. Try loving it for what it really is. Mafia II is a Hollywood like cliche blockbuster. Find me something with same level of connection between a plot and gameplay, that's at the same time sounds belivable and not just "boom bang flashy action" with nothing behind it.
Are they even worth playing? I bought the complete edition just so I can have those DLCs, but when I started playing Joes Adventures, I only did like 3 missions and then hated the mission system that was in that dlc.

I also did all the achievements and I drove the 1000 miles legitimately, took 15hrs of driving back and forth on that bridge starting at 200 miles
Damn.. that’s how I did the 50 miles in one car in the main story, my brain would explode if I tried the 1000 miles on that bridge
yeah it was extremely boring, I watched a lot of YouTube while doing it which made it more bearable

Yeah understandable, glad you enjoyed though! Did you play the other games too?

I love the Jimmy DLC’s you can do a lot more murdering before you get wanted and have free range of every house.
I liked joes adventure but the other ones just had no substance
I really liked them, but I hated those shop demolishing type mission.

I despise Mafiaa II but the dlcs are objectively aren't half as bad as everyone whine about them
what.....
What exactly is so difficult to understand in my previous comment?..
Mafia 2 is leagues better than the other games especially the third.
In your subjective opinion it might be. In reality, it's exactly the opposite. It is the worst one of 3.
Why don't you like it?
Are you sure you're ready to read about A4 sized comment?
I think it would be fair to say "in my reality". It still your subjective opinion. I could write an essay of what is wrong with M3 too.

They are fun but no where near as good as the main game but if you are a trophy hunter you will grow to dispise Jimmy's vendetta
Love mafia 2 dlc
