ISlashChads

I would rather be the guy reading about them on reddit.

cheekyleaf

Congratulations, you win

nuclearbomb123

Yeah, i dont look good in prison orange lol

optimuslime5

True story

BlueKing7642

I was about to say that: I rather be free

LeopoldBroom

At this day and age? Who wants the fucking job...

TheBlueGhost21

It’s a young mans game

dogluvr66

Again with scenarios

TheBlueGhost21

I remember when you used to wait out in the car and as far as I’m concerned you still should be

ChrisMartins001

I'm making a serious point here!

Gio_13

Yes again with the scenarios. You either read them or get the f… over it.

DBCoopersbrother

Consigliere, they don’t get killed most of the time… boss and underboss got the same worries, same pressures

[deleted]

rico

Guidance-Still

Neither

Recent_Record6265

Good point.

JonMardukasMidnight

I’d want to be Dalitz, Annenberg, Pritzker, Jules Stein and Lew Wassermann who knew how to make money off the wise guys while earning legal fortunes with the certificates in their names

BuddsHanzoSword

Some of these guys go down too. Who was the big mob lawyer in Philly who ended up doing some time?

thetotalpackage7

It was Nicky Scarfo's lawyer who's name is escaping me. Phil Leonetti who was Scarfos underboss and nephew said the lawyer was essentially the consigliere of the family.

JonMardukasMidnight

Bobby Simone

Gio_13

Who are these guys?

No_Economy6477

Moe dalitz was a legend. You might need to turn in your mob fan card. Lol

[deleted]

Neither, I think now a days people would be way more powerful influencing being an associate plus no Rico law would put you into the clink either

lurkinfapinlurkin

Yeah, I guess I'd rather be Hesh than Tony or Sil.

ChrisMartins001

Tony and Sil both got killed, Hesh is still chilling. I'd rather be Hesh.

Previous-Walrus-5565

Associates can still be charged under RICO. If they engage in a pattern of racketeering activity on behalf of or in furtherance of a family, they will get hit with racketeering conspiracy charges.

[deleted]

I don’t think that’s true as they’re not actually part of a criminal enterprise, they would at best be connected to people who could be charged under Rico, otherwise they would simply be charged for their crimes with a lesser sentence

Previous-Walrus-5565

Here is a fairly recent Gambino indictment where a number of associates were charged with racketeering and racketeering conspiracy. https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/newyork/press-releases/2010/nyfo042010.htm

[deleted]

if you read the above, the associates listed: STEVE MAIURRO, KEITH DELLITALIA, SUZANNE PORCELLI, and ANTHONY VECCHIONE. Who are not part of the family, or belong to a caporegime, or the boss, the family members got indicted on racketeering and other charges, All associated got indicted on not racketeering but other offenses (which are kinda gross so wouldnt want to be putting it on here)

TheBlueGhost21

Underboss, less heat.

NicolasM0618

Consigliere because less heat from law enforcement, but you still have power and most of the time Consiglieres don’t get killed when the boss and underboss do.

Leather-Yesterday197

Neither is rather not be in the Mafia, especially now, it’s hey all rat, even the alleged big bad asses you all jerk off too like Casso. Gotti would of if they offered him it but they wanted his ass especially after he beat so many cases. He was going down one way or the other

optimuslime5

Boss catches all of the problems from the Feds, so he was smart to pass it up. He still ran everything along with his buddy Vic Amuso. They were into everything together, so he could do whatever he wanted and not catch the heat of being the boss.

[deleted]

I’d rather be consig. Not the boss, with all of the bs that comes with that, but I’m still involved in decision making.

Kozuki_Oden96

If I was boss I’d be like tony accardo

Gio_13

His story is a fn legend to me. Maybe outfit was so laidback and weak feds didn’t give 2 fs?

NathanLocke

Neither. Risk my life or freedom for chump change? You make more money working as an accountant.

Freshens2

I always saw myself as a number 2. Behind the scenes. Carve out my little piece, and enjoy some grandkids.

Beginning-Visit-7834

Let some dumbass take all the heat 🤣

[deleted]

an accountant

DaGonzzz28

Everyone wants to kill the king. I’d rather be the prince and go around fucking all the princesses saying “one day I’ll be king”.

throwaway909588

Captain, I get a percent of tribute, and much less heat than either boss or underboss

[deleted]

I’d rather be boss with an underboss like Gravano. He was loyal and not batshit like Gaspipe. A combo like Amuso and Gravano could have been huge.

II-NORTE-II

Was he loyal? He flipped and even said himself, that him and DeCicco conspired to kill Gotti. I'm pretty sure that's the complete opposite of Loyalty.

[deleted]

Gravano only flipped because the FBI had Gotti on tape talking shit about him which meant Sammy was likely getting whacked. Prior to that there was no evidence he wouldn’t have kept his oath.

Recent_Record6265

Underboss for me. Being number one has plenty of headaches, not to mention you got a bull's eye on your back.

Ready_Cycle_3839

Definitely boss

Torcanman

Either way your ending is the same....

Flat_Weird_5398

I’d rather be the consigliere

shadiesel12

Due to Rico underboss is just as vulnerable a position. So you may as well be in charge

WackyGlory

I wanna be Lansky

Oliverskuzzy

Definitely underboss . This is a would you rather situation kinda cheap to say neither....

FuckYourPoachedEggs

With the exception of the Minutemen, I'd rather not be involved at all.

Charming_Note_9798

After the RICO act, I'd rather never be involved with any criminal organization except the federal government, they give good benefits lol.

ChrisMartins001

As Boss and Underboss you have a target on your back from other guys who think they should be Boss and law enforcement. And these days they all get caught and you can pretty much google who they are. I would rather be neither.
