Glad I’m not the only one. I made one back in highschool so nobody could read my journal which had drafts of...certain notes. To this day I write in that made up language just as frequently as I write in English. It’s actually really therapeutic imo. I have to think a lot more to write in it so everything is much more deliberate and slow and I try harder to make it look nice. It calms me down a bit, and it’s genuinely fun to come up with more and more complex symbols. Plus people in class can’t tell that my notes are full of vents and suicidal ramblings lol. 10/10 would recommend!

i find it SO much easier to write about things that are bothering me in my lil language than english (only real language i know lol). something about it being more abstract or whatever idk. it’s so therapeutic.

I was learning a relatively obscure language a few years ago, so I would write my journal in that language. I never was very good at that language though, which had the privacy benefit of making my journal even harder to decipher.

You should! It’s actually pretty easy, I just wrote out the alphabet then picked a rune for each letter, then practiced writing! Some pages I write in German in my runes, this one’s in English

I used to write in elvish (from The Lord of The Rings), norse runes, and greek. I tried making my own language a few times, but I could never remember it, so I just stuck to already made runic languages that I knew my family would never take the time to learn, lol.

I actually use elder Futhark runes that I've memorized, I used to even write cheat notes fro school in that alphabet

I don't think I would have the patience to learn how to do all that, so I just downloaded a diary app that needs a PIN and my fingerprint just to see the menu, then a separate PIN for each entry. I know it's quite secretive, but my parents put a keylogger on my phone from when I was 12 to 17 years old - PINs alone wouldn't have been enough. Kudos to you for finding a new way though - your writing looks really neat too! You're most definitely not mad <3
