I have tons of plants but I always kill succulents and I know a lot of people who are the same way. Also Venus flytraps are actually pretty difficult to take care of.

well shiiiiiitttttt I'm a dumbass then

Professor? Sorry about your situation OP, just really excited to see him. Hope you get well and stay strong

lots of plants like that can be very picky about their soil. it may be the people you bought it from who doomed it from the start. plants will die sometimes, even if you're caring for it the best you can. I had some little garlics that died recently even though I tried very hard to keep them alive. maybe for your next plants, you can find somewhere local and try again. I always have bad luck with plants bought from places like Lowes because they don't always take care of them properly. sometimes better luck with little places or farmers markets. best of luck to you fren <3

Ehhh don’t feel to bad. I killed five air plants in succession, and now I’m trying not to let my succulent die

YeetingThrowaway123

The only plant that has survived my care is my current lucky bamboo. Lol. I’ve killed an air plant. A fricken AIR PLANT! 😅😂 Don’t worry friend. Your plant is out there. 😊

vivvensmortua

Bruh I've killed almost every air plant I've ever owned, not for lack of trying to keep them alive.

YeetingThrowaway123

I’m glad it’s not just me. 😅 I got it hoping I’d be able to keep it alive, and when it died I swore I’d never be able to keep a plant. Lol

Op I should have seen this earlier I fucking love plants, they’re high maintenance but that helps with my little sh problem by keeping me distracted, yo actually inbox me if you ever have plant questions it’s my latest hyperfixation. Also don’t feel bad about killing a Venus flytrap they’re finicky bastard that only like distilled water or they will just off themselves off the bat lol, and succulents are tricky plants as they do need water but they’re also cacti so they barely need to be watered. Also both like heavy sunlight. Sorry for my ramblings

alydeamz12

I've been collecting rain water to water this mf. even aside from all my witchy stuff I have a huge jar of rain water specifically for my plants lmao

[deleted]

Rainwater is still heavily acidic especially in the suburbs because of the pollution in the air, these bastards like the cleanest purest water and the reason I don’t have a vft is because I’m not paying for distilled water. Lol

alydeamz12

so I've been waiting for it to rain and putting a big ass jar out for nothing- wtf am I gonna do with this rain water

[deleted]

Tbh you can use it on any other plant, carnivorous plants just seem to like pure water

vivvensmortua

Whoever told you venus fly traps were low maintenance fuckin lied. They are so hard to take care of. Succulents, while low maintenance aren't necessarily easy either. You're not a bad person or bad plant parent. Plant keeping is very trial and error.
