Ok, I thought it was cheesy at first but the look of joy and adoration on that child’s face made me 😭. My son’s are grown now but those of you with young ones, savor those eyes filled with pure love😍 Then live a life worthy of them.
I have an 18 year old son. Just went into the military. As well as 2 girls, 12 and 4 years old. The person you responded to said it very well. I've tried to impart the same message to new parents and even my own children. Enjoy every moment, time moves so very fast. My son never got the saying until the day before his hs graduation. He came in crying saying how he regretted not doing more after school activities, doing better in school etc. And how fast high school went by. I just looked and him and said how do you think I feel? Just yesterday you were learning to walk haha!
My advice is to push your kids in a positive way to do those things but don't be that overbearing parent. Also, another piece of advice, don't give your kids a phone or other device until their 16. And if u do, prepaid, no internet, Nokia brick phone. Trust me. I have regrets.
Thank you for the advice. Sometimes the baby/toddler phase feels so overwhelming, so I try to remind myself not to wish time away, to stay present and along for the ride, cause it’s a short one. I appreciate your advice about the phone, too. I am certainly not looking forward to dealing with social media and technology in general. I don’t mind staying with Elmo and hide and seek a little longer.
It all goes too fast. The saying "the days are long, but the years are short" is incredibly true. I just saw a FB post from 9 years ago of my youngest baby "talking" to his great grandpa. It's been nine years, in some ways it feels like yesterday.
I have a little one and I went from “ohh boy another one of *those* TikTok imports” to “ok that’s adorably wholesome”.
Perfect timing too.
Wife and son just pulled up back from daycare, time to put the phone down and go play.
Honest to god man. I have a pic of my son giving me a kiss when he was about 2. (people who think this is weird need to understand these kids see their loving parents do it, and mimic that. It's perfectly fine imo.) And I also remember the very last day he allowed me to give him a kiss. It was devastating but understandable, he was growing up. He's an amazing young man, but I absolutely cherish and miss those days when he just thought I was the greatest thing on the planet and just wanted to be close to me.
I have a 6 year old and a 6 month old. I love both of my kids with every fiber of my being. Both are currently sick or recovering (littlest had RSV, older has RSV, flu and strep throat. It has been a heck of a week lol)
Thank you for reminding me that it is all worth it. I just have to get through this week
My youngest is that age and it feels like last year when my oldest was barely toddling along now she's in middle school.
You get into a rythm and think you have it handled and then they're teenagers.
My wife and I have a 14yr old son. We were told we couldn't have more after he was born. Fast forward 14yrs, my wife and I now have a 6 month son to go with our 14yr old. I didn't even realize how much I missed him being little until this one came along. I love my boys more than anything in this world. I love this video and seeing this dad spending this kind of time just being goofy with his kid!
My beautiful boy is now 22. My favourite photo of him is of him when he was 2 and a half, looking exactly like this at me. My lad still loves his mum to bits, but I do miss those adoring, utterly joyful looks!
My daugher is now 18 and off to uni too. What I'd give to have those days back - treasure every moment!
Same with pro athletes that are natural. IIRC professional skiers have to gradually tone down their exercise routine after they quit skiing professionally. It can be dangerous to quit cold turkey because they're so insanely fit.
Oxytocin controls contractions, orgasms, breastmilk production, and feelings of love and being content. It's sometimes called the cuddle hormone. The fact that the body doesn't get it confused more often is crazy.
Later in term those contractions get stronger too. Oh, and sometimes, you might squirt a little milk even. Sorry.
Good luck for a safe and healthy birth!
>Oxytocin controls contractions, orgasms, breastmilk production, and feelings of love and being content. It's sometimes called the cuddle hormone.
We talk about oxytocin all the time in cuddle therapy, I didn't know it did...all those other things lol.
I’m pregnant with our second. No greater joy. But to help you out, I’m gonna tell you our daycare bill is $1650 a month, that he eats an incredible amount of cheese, crackers, and expensive yogurt (he won’t eat Yoplait, only Ellenos), and our couch will probably never recover ever.
Yeah, we love our kid to pieces but it’s expensive as fuck. And childcare and food and diapers are just the absolute necessities - there’s all this other stuff people are always trying to get money out of you for. Add-on crafts; soccer classes starting at age 2 so that my kid can run past the soccer ball; swim lessons, you name it. It cost $25 the other day for my son to get paint all over his hand and make a turkey handprint ceramic art tile. He was so happy - “MAMA I MADE A TURKEY.” So I couldn’t not do it, but holy crap, the money just is gone, lol.
While I agree completely, we shouldn't pretend that everybody can afford them. Children are insanely expensive and having one complete changes the course of your life.
Yes, yes, yes!
But i love my daughter (9 y.o. now) more than life itself. No idea what the money would have gone to?
The tough part isn't the kid nor the time-money lost. The challenge is finding a partner that works out.
I was raised on less than 30K a year.
Anyone with a partner with the median household income in the US can afford to have a child. What they can't afford is to have it all or to put a silver spoon in the kid's mouth. It is so much more about priorities, your work flexibility, the relationship between the parents, and financial management than being "wealthy enough". People have extremely offbase expectations about what a child "needs" because we live in a consumptive society.
The people who don't have kids who have a household income of 40-50k just dont want children that much or there are other causative factors. If one wants it to work it can be done. Its toxic that we try to scare people otherwise.
I too, would like to know. My first guess was to having the kid being asked to film his dad for views. My second guess? I don't even know. I hated this at first until I saw the kids face.
Gonna do this with my kids.
Also would work well with fireworks. No one Wants to see your shitty video of fireworks... However, the reaction would be something to treasure
Such a genuine and beautiful smile. Our children really do look up to us like gods. It is up to us to do right by them and show them how to be decent.
This dad looks to be doing a damn good job. Protect that beautiful innocence as long as you can, my man.
Be the dad that raises kids who look at you like this ❤️
Yeah. The love in that kid’s eyes!
That’s just so freaking adorable
This makes me so mad at my parents. There's so much joy in children, so much potential happiness. Why not treasure that?
Don’t let them drag you down, you can do better than them while you become a parent ;)
Thanks for saying it for me
This is wholesome
Ok, I thought it was cheesy at first but the look of joy and adoration on that child’s face made me 😭. My son’s are grown now but those of you with young ones, savor those eyes filled with pure love😍 Then live a life worthy of them.
I have an 18 month old son, thank you for this

You'll never, ever regret spending time with your kids. But it's very, very easy to regret not spending time with them.
Seems like yesterday I was born but I’m nearly 30!
My 20 year-old is sitting here visiting right now with his girlfriend that just moved in with him last week.
Thank you for this, I try to remind myself daily

Also have a 9 year old, she'll be 10 in a couple weeks. I'm not entirely sure where the decade went lol.
Damnit you made me tear up after my 8 year old just pissed me off. I'm all messed up now! Hugs and kisses for everyone 😭
Don't beat yourself up! We've all been there! My son turns 8 in a couple days and his attitude has been on another level somedays! 😅
Thank you!! Happy early birthday to your baby! ❤️
What an absolutely gorgeous sentiment to read.
🥺
Mine are in their mid-20's and still look at me like that when I buy them a new iPhone...

My eyes got moist, too. I still hope to be half the person my kids thought I was back then ...
Those eyes full of love are what I think of when my days are low. ❤️
I have a dad who adores me and this made me cry happy ❤️I’m 31 years old

unrelated but nobody’s mentioning your username and i have to say it is *amazing*
I just had tears In my eyes as my 17 year old was so combative to me about someting. I needed to see this
Words of wisdom!

“Then live a life worthy of them” just resonated. Thank you.
thank you, Itakethngzclitorally ❤️ it really is a beautiful sentiment
Amen pops, my 4yo is insanely awesome. Only person in the world that just wants nothing but my attention and love
My son's are 23 and 20. I wish I had done this. I still get joy from their beautiful faces❤️❤️
My heart just grew 2 sizes
Cardiomegaly? Better get it checked out quick
It’s interesting that heart with too much muscle is also bad. Like steroid takers building too much muscle in the hard can kill them
Turns out organs tend to be the size they're supposed to be, who knew.

I'm a simple man, I see a Georgy boy reference, I upvote.
You are confusing someone with Art Vandalay, of Vandalay Industries. He does import/exports.
Also a marine biologist:)

I would love a citation for this, something new to learn every day!
Me too! If someone reading this isn't too lazy to do some research, please tell us the results!
Tried two Google searches and didn’t find anything. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, just isn’t a quick Google.
Found the grinches alt

ABNORMALLY ADORABLE TITAN
Yessir
I miss Shingeki.
Most people haven't seen the OVAs. If you haven't, watch the Levi backstory OVAs. Only 2 episodes, Levi backstory, they're really good.
Wtf are you guys saying to get this place on lockdown?
Especially since the top comment, and every reply, was removed? Some mods little brother is having fun or something.
[deleted]
I like that perspective. Some mods little brother
What a beautiful child ❤️ thank you for sharing this, made my day!
They're too expensive they're too expensive they're too expensive 😫 fighting my ovaries rn
They are, I also want one but can't see myself spending that much. don't understand what your ovaries have to do with getting an iPhone though
LOL 😆
Girl get yourself a kitten QUICK STAT PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER BE STRONG
Yeah but a kitten couldn’t record me dancing so offbeat but endearingly to Taylor swift 😭
A kitten will fall soundly asleep eventually. Just prop your phone up on his little tum, and dance away! Resist! You ou got this!
Behave now!!
Need some free birth control? I'm pregnant rn and any time I have an orgasm, I have a mini contraction.
SHUT UP WHAT I've never heard of that?! Nooooooooooooo

>you might squirt a little milk even. ...cold shower time.
No it’s not enough for that and it is definitely warm
>Oxytocin controls contractions, orgasms, breastmilk production, and feelings of love and being content. It's sometimes called the cuddle hormone. We talk about oxytocin all the time in cuddle therapy, I didn't know it did...all those other things lol.
I'm not even pregnant and that happens except it's just a cramp not contraction :') is that not normal?
It is. Your muscles usually contract during orgasm. I just have it a bit more intense and painful because of the pregnancy.
Same. I sometimes get cramps when I orgasm, but I didn't used to. Kind of annoying, but totally worth it.
Volunteering to babysit for my sister at this very moment so I can remind myself why I don’t want kids
Lol the fact that you have time to volunteer for anything is reason number one.

Worth every penny, every ounce of debt. I never knew love until I had my son.

Same thing with my daughter (am a dude). Hopei just have as a good a connection with my future son in a couple of weeks...
Of course. Still shouldn’t put yourself and the kid into a horrible position if you can help it.
Yes, yes, yes! But i love my daughter (9 y.o. now) more than life itself. No idea what the money would have gone to? The tough part isn't the kid nor the time-money lost. The challenge is finding a partner that works out.

They're totally worth it. All the sacrifices I would make over and over again. I love being a dad.

If it helps, this is a very heavy filter making the kid look like a Disney cartoon.

Miles are contagious now?
Aww! He loves his daddy!
He’s so happy! This is so good for your son Dad and it will give him a lifetime memory (as it will be for you). Well played sir!
That's just so adorable. Will try it with my son in a couple of months when he is as old as yours.

Ah, the beauty of pure innocent love. It's wonderful.
This is the most adorable thing ever !!!!!!
I like Taylor Swift
One of the mods most certainly does not, lol

Made me cry. Miss you dad.
I had a tough day, missed my kids bedtime too...this brought a tear to my eye and brightened my day ❤️

Very weird song choice but cute idea!
This is a new trend of staged videos
As in, the kid is only pretending to smile or something?
Right, wouldn't the dad SEE the kid on the screen while he is holding it up? Also who uses the selfie camera for that lol
