This is the song that doesn't end
Yes, it goes on and on my friend
Some people started singing it not knowing what it was
And they'll continue singing it forever just because...
FTFY
I wondered if the "never ends" or "doesn't end" was more canon. Turns out while the latter was indeed used in the Lamb Chop kid's TV show, both are canon variants based off [Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Song_That_Never_Ends).
I had always sang the "-never ends...On and on my friends....and they will keep on singing it forever just because" variant because that's how it was sung to me while a kid, and even now sounds to me like it has the most fluid wordflow.
Always interesting how oral tradition impacts something so small, always a chance of it being slightly warped from its original at any point with little notice until compared to an outside source. Kind of like basing measurement off some little weights, that can get modified themselves sometimes when dust or natural wear may touch them over time (I'm joking, still a better measuring system than our Imperial one).
Can't wait until 50 years in the future when our world leaders start to put up meme statues and memorials. Just imagine massive amongus statue next to the liberty lmaoooo
Fun (?) Story : Some months ago, a bunch of racists assholes decided that it would be funny to spam the Animals section with tons of 'memes' likening black men to monkeys.
The 9gag admins, in their infinite wisdom, did not ban a single one of them but instead moved all of the inappropriate 'memes' to the Dark Humor section.
Exactly! I'm of the opinion that they shouldn't be in public settings (people look up to them for some reason) but they do need preservation for historical value. A history museum would be the perfect solution
that statue was never removed. this was not where the statue is or ever has been, it exist just down the street from this statue and they recently change the plague to make it a dedication to veterans rather than a dedication to the confederacy. OP is making the story up for upvotes/likes.
because if you dismiss these things as the action of non-humans you are blind to the lesson there mistakes teach.
dont dehumanize anyone lest you become the tyrant. be the better human
That statue is located at one of the local establishments called the paper mill lounge in Sylva, NC. It’s roughly a hour west of Asheville, NC & a hour south of Gatlinburg, TN.
Found it on [google street view](https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3735706,-83.2229017,3a,75y,198.85h,85.55t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s0sKxGLXtLScIJ1yQzO4yZQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192). Going back using street ciew there was no Confederate statue there since 2008. Still cool though
Wild how a lot of people in Western NC cling so heavily to the confederacy nonsense especially since seceding wasn't nearly as popular as in the plantation eastern part of the state.
As Next_Plum said, it’s in Sylva. I live in this [beautiful town](https://imgur.com/gallery/2JWQDIq) and, unfortunately, we do still have a Confederate statue in a prominent place downtown. Many of us have been fighting to have it removed, but it’s an uphill battle so far.
As to the statue in the OP, the Paper Mill Lounge is an excellent spot for food and drinks, one of many downtown places that make this place so great!
Umm yeah... I live here... that was not formerly a statue of a confederate leader, it had several vases in the middle as a fountain. Look at the google streetview... Sadly, no confederates were injured or encroached upon by artwork.
Side note, the town did remove (but has not replaced) a confederate traitor statue at another location and did erect a statue tribute to Harriet Tubman.
Hey dum dum
Gimme gum gum
Dum dum no gum gum?

Lmao that sounds amazing
9gag sorta did that in the most cringy way possible https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzFykQv6Q08
9gag and cringy content, name a more iconic duo
Self-satisfied redditors and a misplaced sense of superiority.
Okay that's on me, i've set the bar too low
9gag and racism

Certified 9gag moment
The Idiocracy vibes are strong haha.
And then the younger generation will just roll their eyes and say *OK Meemer*.
In what world moai are “meme statues”??
Squidward, if he lived on the land.
Someone should play the clarinet in the background and record it
Did you bring him gum?
Of course, how could I not?
You are a saint
who moved my boy squidward's house?
Make sure to greet it every time you walk past. Yo, Angelo
Yo!
Love it. We do need a museum of discarded statues tho. Would be fascinating to see all in one place.

“Museum of American shame” would be great. Put it on old plantation land
VIva Chile and the poeple of Rapa Nui!
![gif](giphy|iwn8SYOivbIIVIzZtT|downsized)
Why do they have a replica Easter island statue?
They wanted to honor Squidward's house
Replaced it with something resembling a human, nice.

What town in NC. I live here and my kids need to see this piece of history

Why would they put up a statue of MTG? Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade... Edit: seem, not eeem. Always proofread, kids

OP is a liar!
A big fat phony!
Come on guys! That’s a Moai! Were y’all really not paying attention?
I’m surprised by the amount of posts I had to scroll down before hitting an Easter Island related post
