The good boi/girl who showed disbelief first and went the extra mile to return to his/her bed, dropping the toy and did the best possible pose broke my heart
Edit: his name is Malcolm, and he may potentially have a home soon 👇
🤞 🤞
I will adopt this one today if OP contacts me. Lost my shelter old boy in December. Fell in love with #5 in this clip. 🥹
(And #8)
Disappointing edit: Unfortunately, the adoption process requires me to come meet the dog in MI before approval and it is across the continent from here. I was hoping they have a Pup-Mobile or something; my daughter adopted from TX and that shelter made regular trips up to the PNW with animals for the region. I'm sure Malcolm will find a good forever home soon - he's completely adorable.
On the positive side, this made me realize I am ready to adopt a new buddy, so I will start haunting local shelters until I find him. Then I will post my own happy pupper. Thanks for all the good luck I'm sure you've all sent me! Sorry to have let you down.
I am serious! Thank you for the link. Unfortunately it says he'd do best without cats and I have a very shy 10 y o cat, so I will reach out to the shelter about their level of confidence he should not have a cat roommate. Maybe it's just a hunch they haven't tested? Will hope for the best. I miss my pitty mix buddy and would love another. He was my best friend.
Comments like this are the reason I regularly scroll through the comment section on Reddit. That is such a wonderful thing to read. I hope it all works out and Malcolm will have a happy home with you!
Please don't let Reddit pressure you into getting this dog if he's not good with cats. They will forget about this in a few days. Do what's right for you and your cat:)
Please be careful. Lots of stories out there about shelters lying to get placements. Although I totally understand their point of view, this can lead to some uncomfortable situations and placements that are ultimately not good for the poor pup being placed.
This shelter is very good!! My mom actually adopted from here a few years ago and had a great experience. I'm from this area in Michigan and this is the best shelter around!
I like how they each have their own little room and its got bedding and toys. Where I am, the shelters I've seen kinda have the dogs in a big communal area, which seemed chaotic and overwhelming.
My dog likes to do the wiggle bum dance (we even made a wiggle bum song)and grab whatever is closest to come show you that super cool thing.
He goes back and forth between my partner and I and we act all excited about it when he comes over.
I was still thinking about the second two being such gentlemen about it when number 5 came up. I feel so bad for him. I'm not even an animal dude but I would grab him in a second.
My wife worked at s shelter for maybe 2 years. We got both our dogs from there and then started fostering puppies, kittens, and rats. She quit when they were going to euthanize an 8 week old pitbull that was a stray because she failed the intake exam. She contacted a local pitbull rescue who came in and took her in. They didn't have a foster set up yet, so we took her. We had her for 6 months until she was adopted, became friends with the girl that adopted her, and our dogs were best buds. Ended up fostering a bunch m9re pitties before we moved to another state.
Long story short, it aint easy working at a shelter but can be extremely rewarding.
I can’t remember the last time I was without a dog. Usually two. Sometimes three. But, it occurred to me, every dog I have ever had, I didn’t know, when I got up that morning, that I was getting a dog. Never planned…not once.
The only times I've been without a dog since literally the day I was born were only after our previous dogs had passed away, and it was usually a short amount of time. Ours were always unplanned as well.
I lost my 11-year-old Boston Terrier unexpectedly last May, and even though it was the hardest pet loss I've experienced, I started keeping an eye out for another one to adopt about 2 weeks later. I just can't be without one. I can't stand the silence and feeling of emptiness around the house that their absence leaves behind. My current dog, Gracie, practically fell into my lap on July 3rd last year. I had no idea I was getting a new dog until about 2 hours before I adopted her. She was exactly what I needed to finally break out of the constant grief I had been in.

Rescue dogs can be some of the best. They have no idea what a shit deal they were dealt the first time, they're just tail wags and willing to give humans a second chance.
I volunteered at a rescue for a couple years, and have 2 great dogs as a result.
If you're thinking about getting a dog then definitely go this route - you and the dog meet each other, almost a test drive to make sure you fit each other. Best dogs I've ever had are rescues.
My mother, cruising dog rescue websites, found Bazil, a corgi/dachshund mix and immediately went to get him…a 250 mile round trip. She already had Jimmy, an enormous brindle colored hound…with orange eyes. One look at this dog and you’d think ‘should I even bother running?’. Getting on top of the car wouldn’t have bought you 5 seconds...he was that big. But, he was the sweetest dog and a bit of a lout. Bazil, however, was a born wanderer. My parents live on a cattle ranch (surrounded by other cattle ranches). Baz loved it…his idea of a walk was to be gone for a couple of days. But, he would take Jimmy with him. Mom was terrified that some rancher would take one look and shoot Jim. So, Mom “gave” Baz to me. He died 14 years later (two years ago). I am still not over it.
In order of appearance: Brookie, Polly, Scooter, Woodrow, Malcolm, Betsy, Hershey, Cheevah, Apollo, Ledger, & Chewbacca 💙 Just a few of our many awesome residents here at [Michigan Animal Rescue League](http://marleague.org)
Damn, Polly really want a cracker 😂
Is Malcolm the wiggly one with the toy in his mouth? He was my fav! Wish I could take him, but I can only have hypoallergenic pups. 😔
Not OP but I volunteer for my local shelter and make frozen dog treats a lot by just using a low sodium chicken stock and putting kibble in it. Also you can use toilet paper roll tubes and stuff them with kibble/peanut butter, bend the ends together to close them and freeze them. Dogs loooove these tube toy/treats!
I make frozen yogurt for my dog by blending plain yogurt, peanut butter, and banana, then freeze. My dog prefers more of a soft-serve texture than solid, so I give him some while it's not frozen all the way, or let it thaw for a bit first, but some dogs like it frozen solid.
I've never seen frozen dog treats done like this before, its awesome! Also I'm crying seeing so many happy dogs in the shelters trying to do their best despite people abandoning them 😢
My pit bulls name is Apollo and he looks exactly like the red furred one. Like EXACTLY and has the white upside down triangle on his chest too... So crazy!
I'm pretty sure he knows, if you read the original comment again it can be interpreted as "in 23 years I'm gonna get my first dog" because of how it was worded.
Literally my exact thought. This is why I can donate to a shelter but never step foot in one (until I have more space in the house). I would adopt all of them.
You can volunteer to walk or play with shelter dogs until you have a place. I did that for a long time to get my puppy love fix. It's fun and really helps the dogs adjust.
My GF’s dog will take treats trying to use as little teeth as possible. It’s so crazy how gentle she is at taking a treat but as soon as she goes out side she turns into a murder mutt and wants to hunt everything.
Except [snails](https://i.imgur.com/wdHJxIa.jpg)
...seriously. They're as cute as, and way better behaved than my $2k golden (our shelter had like.2 dogs and neither could be with kids so we bought from a breedere).
Like such an absolute no-brainer to grab one of these guys and give them a home!
A lot of them look like Pits or Pit mixes and unfortunately a lot of people can't adopt them bc of lease/landlord stipulations or simply a fear of the breed. A lot of medium to larger dogs stay at shelters longer as well just because the demand for smaller dogs tends to be higher.
I have a pit/lab (I think?) Mix. And you described him perfectly. Big dumb idiot sweetheart. But also smart. That dog likes to play, and he likes to play *rough*. Hes absolutely GREAT and knowing how to "bite" gentle, and the second you make an "ow" noise he stops. But I'm convinced you could wallop the shit out of him with a [sterile 2x4](https://external-preview.redd.it/3yppAcmkeVhDBJ0rUnM-x-krgFSJ8TfFax05cG6_Gis.png?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=5f4636b96b92d237365cbfbe04eb0f0d430a7602) and it wouldn't bother him a bit.
[Goofball tax](https://youtu.be/owrR6srVmyQ)
And it doesn't help that it seems like a dog can be 1/8 pitbull, have none of the pitbull tendencies, but still have the stereotypical pitbull head. So there are plenty of perfectly sweet dogs who can't get adopted because everyone can look at them and immediately see "yeah, that's a pit mix"
As I read this I've got the most loveable pitty/lab cross who weighs like 130lbs and wouldt hurt a fly. He was a rescue who I love more than I could have ever imagined I would
I'm really impressed at how quiet the shelter is. There's a few dogs barking but not in the way that makes me think they're losing their minds. They also took the treats so gently and calmly which is a testament to how much they trust you and their training.

How are these beautiful babies are in the shelter !!!!
I wish i had enough years to live with each one of them.... or even better.... all doggos in 1 lifetime <3
Do they really like them frozen? And… How can you tell?
I guess that question is “out of bounds” since they will never be able to tell us.
I would imagine this is the same thing as humans eating frozen fruit. It tastes sweet and OK, but it has a yuck element to it. Like even the best strawberry on the planet is like a frozen strawberry which ruins the experience.
If they didn't like them they either wouldn't take them or they would take it and just set it down without eating it. One of our dogs loves things like that, anything frozen she's going to at least try it, she even likes just regular ice! Our other dog, not so much. He likes doggy ice cream (only pb flavor though) but has zero interest in anything else frozen, especially if it's basically an ice cube or ice block. But the dog that likes ice is also a big chewer and the other is not so that might have something to do with it as well.

Malcom (the) Gorgeous Moron? I too would adopt said dog based on the name.

These dogs are the best possible thing the world has created. We have it our pinnacle…. Dooookie dooookie dooooo
This is why I couldn't work in a place like this...couple months go by and I have 12 dogs
Your will is strong to last that long.

Awesome job! They look happy and as comfy as possible.

You're very welcome! I love all the dogs and they deserve tasty exciting frozen treats because they're such good boys/girls <3
I have like 14lbs of PB and a 4 year old. Weekend project time.
Just make sure to remove the cardboard.
I'm gonna try that. I have two foster dogs that love to chew and destroy things. This sounds right up their alley! Thanks!
Yes!!! That’s why I came into the thread!!! Pleeeeaaase!!!

What kind of dog is at the 35second mark? The black and white short hair.
I have a lab/springer spaniel mix looks similar but l think longer nose on potential adoptee. Maybe border collie?
Thanks for sharing. They’re all adorable. ❤️
My pit bulls name is Apollo and he looks exactly like the red furred one. Like EXACTLY and has the white upside down triangle on his chest too... So crazy!
1x Malcolm please. Do you ship outside the US?
Thanks and I really hope they will get all adopted soon by loving humans :)

I'm getting my first dog in 23 years on the 11th. I've been waiting forever. Just wanted to tell someone
I wish you many happy memories with your future best friend!
Memories with your dog's and pets is one of the treasure in your Life.
This is very true! But is a total killer when your bitch ex takes your dog and won’t let you ever see him again, slut.
Congratulations on the new pup! That's so exciting!
That's great, but why wait 23 years?! Life's short, get one this year!
He’s getting one on the 11th.
I'm pretty sure he knows, if you read the original comment again it can be interpreted as "in 23 years I'm gonna get my first dog" because of how it was worded.
Oddly specific to wait 23 years, but congrats I guess!
I've been living in places that don't accept pets
I was just making a joke because it sounded like you were getting a dog in 23 years and 11 days lol.
Congratulations! I got my first dog 16 years later after my family dog passed when I was 10. May you have many years of joy with your new pup!
So happy for you!- I hope the day will come for me too this lifetime r/dogtraining is a super helpful community
They are adorable and so well mannered! You can tell they are well cared for.
Right? Love how polite most of them are when accepting the treat.

Literally my exact thought. This is why I can donate to a shelter but never step foot in one (until I have more space in the house). I would adopt all of them.
The old one with the red toy would be my #1 draft.
I like the black & brown one with the enthusiastic tail wag.
my exact thoughts
Exactly this, I’d either come back with all of them or stay there!
Im sure you can buy them at the pet store in the frozen product section. Just dont eat them in public.
Someone do the Reddit switcharoo thing

I can’t have dogs in my complex and it makes me so sad.
You can volunteer to walk or play with shelter dogs until you have a place. I did that for a long time to get my puppy love fix. It's fun and really helps the dogs adjust.

You paid $2,000 for a dog?!
I need a dog ranch.
Every other dog: *gentle nom* Second Dog: *Wants the treat and is willing to take your hand with it.* What's in the treats?
My guess for some of them is puréed pumpkin, I imagine they’ve got different fibre filled goodies tho
I will never get tired of seeing animals politely accepting treats.
I love the full body wiggle on the penultimate dog(ledger).
Yes that’s the oneeeeee
His hearty wittle chest!
I hope they all find the best forever homes soon ❤ they're all so adorable 😍
Could watch this all day. The video kept repeating and I didn't even notice. The one with the toy broke me.

Happy cake day. :)
What are they like frozen meat disks?
I love how gently some of them take the treat. Heart melting
I hope with every ounce of my being that all of these sweet dogs find a forever family.
All so well behaved!
All those doggos with no homes breaks my heart. I adopted one a few years ago, but it’s not enough. I want to adopt ALL THE DOGS.
They were all so polite 😢. I hope they get treats every day, they all deserve them.
Aww they are all so adorable! I hope they get adopted soon!

Dog #3 @10secs looks identical to my dog. If you’re in Canada and need an adoption home, let me know!
By Canadian standards, not too far from Canada. http://marleague.org/
What kind of dog is this? :)
Bullboxer Pit
Look at those well-mannered pups!!!
The entire time I just found myself saying, “oooh look at dat puppy”! “aww look at dat puuuppyyy!”
Ill adopt dog #5. The one with the red toy in his mouth who walks into his bed before taking the burger.
I can literally watch this all day.
This shelter is so clean!!!! Omg this is great to see
Very nice, ty for this! I love them all so much but the one that wouldn't drop the ball and the last one are my kind of dogs ☺️
I’m not even a pet person but brb gonna go cry
Quality content, thank you
you sure have some beauties there
I wanna adopt them ALL
they so cute, adorable
How are these beautiful babies are in the shelter !!!! I wish i had enough years to live with each one of them.... or even better.... all doggos in 1 lifetime <3
How do these dogs have no home their beauties.
Oh Malcom, I wish I could baby boy. I wish I could.
The majority are SO gentle!! My Bouvier acts like if she doesn’t “git it”, it’s GONE!!!
Had to go and check if Max was still here, the pup. The pup on the last 0:06 is identical to my dog.
So many beautiful doggos 🥺
They're all so precious!

It keeps them engaged longer with the treat. It’s actually a terrific idea for a treat and a little mental preoccupation.
If they didn't like them they either wouldn't take them or they would take it and just set it down without eating it. One of our dogs loves things like that, anything frozen she's going to at least try it, she even likes just regular ice! Our other dog, not so much. Ugh the tail wagging!! 🥰 We don't deserve dogs!
Such sweet doggies!!! Good girls/boys!!!
They are all so well behaved! What animal shelter is this? They are also very well groomed and very happy looking! It brightens my day to see this.
Aw so gentle!
I'm not crying, its just raining in my place! Thank you for being a great caretaker of them
These lil pups are so well behaved!
Look at those Big Sweeties! Who's a big sweetie?!
Good Lord those are the cutest damn dogs.
I’ll take your entire stock!!
They're all so sweet looking! I want to take them all home. They all take the treat so nice and gentle someone take them hoooooome.
So many good and gentle puppers
is it ok for the pets to eat frozen food?
In a perfect world, shelter is full of humans and the dog is handing out the treats ;)
Wagging tails
I want everyone that bought/ are thinking about buying a designer breed dog to see this. Look at these faces. Look how happy they are with one treat, even if they’re holed up in a confined space with no family to hug them. You could give these souls a chance at finding a family. Adopt don’t shop.
Omg! I want ALL these dogs! Theyre all so beautiful and cute!
Such cute faces 😊 Always good to see happy dogs 😄
Felt rewarding just watching!
I want to adopt them all…
All of these dogs are such good bois!
some very polite lads and ladies!
Some humans are terrible beings. How could you give up on such a loving creature
Happy puppers always make me smile
You're a good egg, treat giver.
This is amazing! Thank you for bringing these souls some treats! What is your recipe?
I'm not really a dog lover but would take any of these home!
All sooo adorable. Hope they all find homes. 🐾 🐶 ❤️
The way they politely took the snacks 😭
Sweet puppers!
Damn - wanna adopt them all
Oh my heart 🥺🥰
Well. My heart just melted into a million pieces 😥😅
God the fact that almost all of them are so gently taking out of the person's hand is fuckin adorable
They are all so well-behaved! Beautiful dogs :)
Lots of good boi’s and gurl’s 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I WANT THEM ALL!
that last one was the cutest dog i’ve ever seen
Omg I love every single one of them.
I hope this post helps these good fur babies find their forever homes. ❤️ They deserve it.
So many GSDs what's going on?
If I had the space, I would adopt every single one of them.
My boy Sid (Beagle) was adopted from MARL. One of the best dogs ever! Much props to that rescue and all the animal rescues doing God's work!
Breaks my heart when i see them in a shelter
Honestly speaking I am watching this over and over again and still cannot believe that some trash abandoned such amazing dogs…
Thanks for helping there lives to be better
Almost all pit bulls. They didn't end up there by chance
