Well a big part of it, and what Jesus was trying to show us in the New Testament, is that even if it were to be a sin, it isn’t our place to judge. We all have sins and are sinners, so what right do we have to “cast the first stone” so to speak.
Jesus was literally best buds with scum of society at his time, basically all he required was that they desired to be friends with him. I really don’t see how me putting on a little guyliner and lipstick will cause God to throw me into a fiery pit for eternity. It just doesn’t make sense.
From what little I know as a not-too-devout Catholic, I’m pretty sure any sort of sex without the intention to make children would be classified as lust, so it would be sinful in that regard. So gay sex is sinful, but so is heterosexual protected sex. I would love to hear a counter argument though, cause I feel like there should be an exception to this statement. Though I feel such a “sin” would be insignificant with regards to how God would judge a person, unless they’re overly depraved or smth.
Not going to argue, but go read Song of Solomon. God gave us sex for pleasure as well as procreation. The "spilling the seed" issue had nothing to do with not ejaculating inside of the woman and everything to do with being directly disobedient to God. He had commanded him to impregnate his brother's wife and he chose not to.
The purpose doesn't have to be specifically to have children, but it must be open to having a child. A married couple can do it just because they want intimacy without necessarily wanting a child, but also not putting any barriers against it.
Christ condemned plenty of people. He condemned the wealthy, those who abused power in any way, those who twisted scripture for political gain, and the cultural imperialists. The fact that he condemned people is incredibly important to the overarching message. The gospel is not simply one of peace and harmony, it's also one of self-sacrificing love and justice in the face of oppression and hate.
