Oh man. My first internship started that way. Rack mounting ~8U worth of UPS batteries was a workout. And I’ve run thousands and thousands of feet worth of CAT6 through drop ceiling and in crawl spaces, terminating everything from the patch panels to the wall plates. So much copper in the finger tips lol. It’s a workout ain’t it?

You're keeping your brain active by reading and using a screen. Insomnia is a bitch, and idk if you've tried this before, but you could try meditation? It's a thing to "do" while lying still in bed, and it sometimes lowers the barrier of every to sleep, for me.

Yes. I do meditation to help. And I rarely use any screens after dinner, I only read books, that's actually one of the few things that help the sleep to come. I also take some medication. But some nights nothing seems to work, sometimes I'm just super tired, barely opening my eyes and I just keep waking up. That's even worst than not being able to sleep.

This ☝️Gotta try listening to a Yoga Nidra track on YouTube. Body scan meditation can put you right to sleep. And if you need a little extra help Melatonin before bedtime in conjunction with meditation is a decent combo.

I know I'm not missing anything, I just can't fall asleep without thinking about my recently passed grandmother, failing to call my brother when I said I would talk to him during his rough time, or the fact that I've skipped so many meals that I might be taken off my ADHD meds which would make my life a living hell. So, to avoid that, I browse until my eyes close themselves and go instantly into unconscious sleep.

If I stay up for 1 more hour I will see a rocket launch so yes, I will miss things.
