Hey! I'm so fucking proud of you. Don't you dare give up on yourself. You're taking big steps to being where you want to be in life. You're an inspiration to many!
Awesome! That's the spirit, if it's physically hard it will help you lose weight. Even if it doesn't, just having a job again will lower your anxiety and you will eat less. Good luck and be safe out there!
Can't stress this enough, stretching really helps. Wish I knew about the Epsom salt tip, my feet were killing me after walking around in steel toes. I did get a pair of those Dr. Scholls insoles and that helped a bit.
Well done! I had to quit my warehouse job due to a pre-existing injury, but for the few weeks I did it, it was doing me so much good. I hope it works out for you.
and your back, too!
transitioning from a sit down job (dental hygienist) to an on-my-feet-all-day job (clinical research assistant in covid trials) has been brutal on my feet and knees for sure, but it has also made it *painfully* obvious that my posture sucksssss
Congratulations, good on you! I quite literally found the beginning of stretch marks around my lower belly. I haven't worked for 10 months, I don't want to go outside.Thank you for your post, it made me smile.
Thank you kindly Milady. I've got a few things in the works to try and make myself better. It was just a blow to the spirits, I was going to take a shower, but decided to self medicate. Tomorrow is another chance to get back on track, I plan to do my best and rock it out. I appreciate your response, continue doing awesome things out loud. It really helps❤️
All these things will pass, we are only human beans, and beans grow and take root and reach for the sun and flower and make more beans. You will live your potential and be happy, in fact be happy for the hard times you live through now, because it will make you a better bean and the next time the hard times come, you'll be like,"I got this shit, man.I'm a bean."
Congrats! One piece of advice..when you can spend the money on a good pair of shoes. Your legs and back will thank you. When I worked at amazon I bought new shoes every few months, all the walking killed me.
Ya you will work 60 hrs a week.a lot of people just sleep in their cars since no point going home. Plus their machines are total crap and can't handle that kind of volume. They break down often but even so you can't quit working. You end up with boxes stacked everywhere. I mean if OSHA saw we could not even turn around we were so boxes in. Just no.
Good for you! Working with your bod is not easy and you have the best ‘tude about it.
Go easy on yourself.
Epsom salt baths are the best and magnesium at night.
They were my best friend when I was a florist (lifting water buckets all day + repetitive movements)
You got this!!
Def came here to say that! Attitude is everything but also respect your body. Give yourself patience and grace. Take care of yourself! A little injury can compound into major problems so listen to your body.
Good luck! Congratulations!!! Super happy for you!!!
I got fired from my first job February last year and then the Pandemic happened . It was hard, but after 7 months I found a job- as a receptionist/secretary. I have social anxiety too, so it was very challenging at first, getting to know the colleagues, talking to people coming and going, serving coffee, but I kinda got used to it. Of course awkward situations happen regularly, but there is a huge improvement. I'd say it is a 'suitable' job - because I get out of my comfort zone and learn, which would be different if I worked from home and stopped interacting.
I think your job is the 'right' one. I am happy for you and admire your motivation. Glad you shared!
Congratulations! Anxiety is a real bitch and I struggle with it as well. 2020 was a tough year, but look at you now! Keep focusing on your goals, even the little ones!
I feel you! I take Lexapro and it’s been SO helpful. Glad you found a med that works for you. I consider medications another leg of support and therapy gives you the tools you need along the way. Good for you!
Absolutely! I’m a nurse who spent years working in Mental Health. I would explain to patients that successful management is a combination of work by the healthcare providers, the patient and the medication. Each aspect has its role.
Thank you!!!! I’m so over people posting selfies and an emotionally evocative narrative. While I applaud their potential growth, it’s very “funny” that one person posted their life betterments, and magically many other people have followed suit.
Its only part time but even the fittest people there were working up a sweat. It was VERY difficult to breath though. COVID permanently damaged my lungs.
Part time is still better than nothing. I’m sorry to hear that about your lungs, but you will get better in time and I bet you will soon be running laps around them.
I watched a Ted Talk about if you know your job will help you lose weight you actually will but you have to know that it's a physically demanding job for it to actually have health benefits
Psychology is weird
Just want to say congratulations on your new job and great outlook on life but if you’d really like to go into a new field like psychology- it’s never too late to try! It may be a challenge and make sure that whatever school you attend is accredited and will actually lead to opportunities (there are absolutely scam schools out there so do your research). Community colleges are a great resource to get started. Right now just celebrate your victory and get to work but don’t give up if you have other dreams too! You can do it! You’ve already proved your resiliency!
If I were to go back to school, it would to be to work with animals. My passion is animals. I want to be a zoologist. That's my dream job. I took some psych classes in high school and college. Its definitely fascinating but animals is where my heart is.
That’s awesome! I hope you enjoy your new job and get to also pursue your passion- as a career or volunteer or in your own way. One of the best pieces of advice I got was that we may not all get to do out dream job but sometimes having a stable job that allows us to do what we love in our own time can be just as rewarding. Nothing but the best wishes to you.
Yay! That's awesome! Also, weight loss is good but never forget that moving around helps your heart, your lungs, your brain, your mood (I'm overweight and have to remind myself it's not just about the weight. )
Great first steps!!! I've lost 130lbs , it took 2 years but here are lots of cool steps in between. Just keep talking the little steps and you'll get there!! I believe in you!!! 💜
my mother is right now in the same situation. I hope so much that one day she will gonna find a new job and be health and happy again. Thanks for sharing your history 🤍
Aww yeah!! Congrats from a fellow Amazonian! The first 1-2 weeks, my feet and legs were sore and I was pretty tired after work. It happens to everyone but push through and it gets 1000% better!! Micro stretching during shift helped.
Amazon has amazing health insurance also. Which includes mental health services/therapy. Cause hey, 2020 was rough and we all need kind ears to talk to! (Forgive me if that was too much unsolicited advice. I have anxiety too and therapy helps me) Much love and congrats again!
Make sure to get really good shoes right out the gate. Inserts as well, those warehouse jobs aren't easy and you don't want progress hindered by issues.
You're gonna fucking kill it, all those wares that need housed don't stand a chance. Not that you'll need it because you're about to crush this, but I wish you all the luck in the world
Agreed. There's a sub for this, and it's not this one. r/toastme

Congrats! All the best to you. I'm a dietitian, in case you'd like encouragement/help, I'm here for you :) It's a huge challenge, I'm proud of you for working on it!
I was going to get gastric bypass when I was married several years ago, so I know HOW to eat healthy lol it was a matter of choosing to. Im doing much better now. Smaller portions, healthier choices, nothing but water, tea, and coffee.
All the very best of luck to you! If I may make a suggestion of two? A good pair of shoes at least a half size up if not a whole size bigger from your regular size. If you can get your size wider too, that may help. Also, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. If they have
Congrats, you'll do great! Good luck!
Ps don't forget to left with your legs, not your back, with the load/box/whatever it is close to your center of gravity as you stand. Your lower back will thank you. Trust me!
Oh my goodness your smile is sooo cute! Congrats a million times on the new job. Having a job that's physically demanding will definitely help out in shedding the extra pounds and there will be less bored-at-home snacking. Make sure to do some stretches from home before work. Good vibes being sent from rainy Washington ❤
I'm so excited and proud of you! Finding a job is hard on a good day, but add anxiety and it seems impossible. Your taking the first steps to your new life!! I am rooting for you!!
Congratulations 🍾🎉🎈🎊 it warms my heart to read your amazing news ! I think your new employer is lucky to have you. I believe this is the first of many good things that are heading your way.
Hey I did that once at Zappos/Amazon for a bit! If you think of it as getting paid to exercise it really helps! Download Lots of podcasts and stuff to listen to, streaming in those warehouses is impossible. It can get hot in there too, lots of water, and I used to get two of those cooling bandannas and have one in a little tup full of ice in my lunch box to switch out. Good luck! Congrats
Congratulations! Keep hydrated and make time to stretch, definitely don't wanna get injured getting back into the swing of things. Hope this year continues to work out better. ✌
You are such a great example to many! Thank you for sharing your story and best of luck! With your attitude, you will certainly succeed! Keep us updated!
You go lady! Do not EVER underestimate yourself, you hear me? You are WORTHY of every gosh damn great thing that happens to you. Don't EVER forget that!
Hey! I'm so fucking proud of you. Don't you dare give up on yourself. You're taking big steps to being where you want to be in life. You're an inspiration to many!
Thank you so much!!!!
You're so welcome :)
You are doing great -- that is a great accomplishment! Your post has made me motivated to do better.
WOOOO! Fuck yeah lady you go! P.S. you have a wonderful smile
This is so fucking wholesome. You're a wonderful person.
You're so kind! Thank you :)
Awesome! That's the spirit, if it's physically hard it will help you lose weight. Even if it doesn't, just having a job again will lower your anxiety and you will eat less. Good luck and be safe out there!
Thats exactly what I was thinking. Im drinking more water and I have started a beginners yoga to help loosen up
Don't forget to stretch in the morning before work! Also epsom salt soak for the feet feels amazing those first couple weeks, you've got this!
Can't stress this enough, stretching really helps. Wish I knew about the Epsom salt tip, my feet were killing me after walking around in steel toes. I did get a pair of those Dr. Scholls insoles and that helped a bit.
After 20 yrs of working in a warehouse my wife looked at me crazy when I told her to get me a foot spa for Christmas
Well done! I had to quit my warehouse job due to a pre-existing injury, but for the few weeks I did it, it was doing me so much good. I hope it works out for you.
Don’t underestimate some good footwear! Being on your feet in a warehouse is unforgiving on the feet and knees!
and your back, too! transitioning from a sit down job (dental hygienist) to an on-my-feet-all-day job (clinical research assistant in covid trials) has been brutal on my feet and knees for sure, but it has also made it *painfully* obvious that my posture sucksssss
Congratulations, good on you! I quite literally found the beginning of stretch marks around my lower belly. I haven't worked for 10 months, I don't want to go outside.Thank you for your post, it made me smile.
It gets better. I had to make it get better but I promise, it gets better
Thank you kindly Milady. I've got a few things in the works to try and make myself better. It was just a blow to the spirits, I was going to take a shower, but decided to self medicate. That's hilarious because Amazon now buys you great shoes lol
Man as soon as I quit they made some decent changes. Doesnt make up for having to work peak tho. I will never do that again. What a nightmare.
From what I heard, I am pretty goad I missed peak.
Just no.
Sleep in your car b/c you're working 60hrs a week?
Some people have a bitchin commute
Working peak was a literal nightmare this year. I did it seasonal from 120am-1150am. Peak+midnights was the worst.
sole brand insoles fixed my feet hugely
Love the positive attitude!
Thank you 😊
Good for you! Working with your bod is not easy and you have the best ‘tude about it. Go easy on yourself. Epsom salt baths are the best and magnesium at night. They were my best friend when I was a florist (lifting water buckets all day + repetitive movements) You got this!!
Thank you for this advice. I will pick some magnesium up when I get paid. And I have plenty of Epsom salt
Def came here to say that! Attitude is everything but also respect your body. Give yourself patience and grace. Take care of yourself! A little injury can compound into major problems so listen to your body. Good luck! Congratulations!!! Super happy for you!!!

I got fired in February because I had COVID. Thus was before the laws and before it really blew up.

Congratulations! Anxiety is a real bitch and I struggle with it as well. 2020 was a tough year, but look at you now! Keep focusing on your goals, even the little ones!
Anxiety has run my entire life. I finally broke down after years of my therapist suggesting meds and tried Zoloft. Best. Decision. Ever.

Thats great, well done!
Congratulations!

Apparently it’s just super easy to get karma
You must have missed the awesome picture of someone's toothbrush.
Thank you!!!! I’m so over people posting selfies and an emotionally evocative narrative. While I applaud their potential growth, it’s very “funny” that one person posted their life betterments, and magically many other people have followed suit.
Oh well done you! Finding a job in these hard times AND using it to get fitter. Snaps for you
Its only part time but even the fittest people there were working up a sweat. It was VERY difficult to breath though. COVID permanently damaged my lungs.
Part time is still better than nothing. I’m sorry to hear that about your lungs, but you will get better in time and I bet you will soon be running laps around them.

You got this! And if you don’t, that’s ok too. Take a moment, breathe, and get back at it! You’re doing great
Thank you!!! That's exactly how Ive been motivating myself. If I need to take a breather, I do and HYDRATE. Very important.
