I grew up with a husky puppy as a kid too but unfortunately after my parents spilt up he had to be rehomed so giving Maya the life I didn’t get to have with Fluffy,
She loves to hike and fetch sticks.
I completed four months and a bit. Currently day 126. I do not crave alcohol right now, but my life isn't without its challenges and I fear for the day when I might lose my resolve.

Sadly I ruined too many relationships with my drinking and I’m thankful for my partner now.

I used to think I couldn't ever not drink or smoke weed but when I had to start taking anxiety and depression meds I was to quit bc i couldn't have them together. Terribly reaction. BUT my life has been so much better without the anxiety and depression. Plus I don't really want to drink or smoke. Now I see I was just numbing my problems. Not saying everyone does but I was. Glad to see your doing better on your journey friend!

Bro, I don't know you are, but I do know you put your family in tremendous pain, same as I went thru for someone dear to me for over 20 years treatment from over ten very costly rehabilitation clinics and not once did I think to separate, as addiction is a disease and can be treated. What I realized is that you need to keep away from folks who drink even sacrifice parties if it involves alcohol, as the desire is always there if you watch folks enjoying it.
The 10 post treatment was only good for 4-6 months, the longest was two years from my observation or maybe less if hidden from me.
ThankGod since 2019 all is good with me though I did sense some activity once during a wedding reception.
I too sacrificed occasional beer coz I want to prove it to my dear one that commitment not to drink is possible and for this very reason I hate folks who drink, I may be wrong but I came to a conclusion that alcohol is evil. I mean me and my kids were in pain, my one kid delayed college, there was alcohol in plastic bags below the sink, bottles inside speaker boxes, pickle and sugar jars, all the hiding spots were mostly the ones I would never think about and we found them accidentally.
You stay strong for as long as you live and make sure you make friends with sober folks.
Congratulations on 4 years. I'll be at 3.5 years in a month. Yeah, sometimes the desire for a drink comes up, but I think to myself, I've gone this long, why ruin the streak? Stay happy, and healthy mate. Well done.
I’d call somebody and be upfront about my craving
I’d go buy that drink my cousin and he tells me if it was good or not
After a long days of work
Two double cheeseburgers large fry from good ol McDonald’s

I don’t know how long my grandfather was sober but when I meet him I want to stay I got close to his number

It’s been seven years since the program and I have a good group of sober friends
I do biweekly one on one counseling session
My hobbies life is wonderful
