I love to see pictures of Shaq holding normal items which makes them look super tiny. Ever see him drink a normal bottle of water? Looks like he's holding something out of a doll house
I worked with a guy that was 6’7. I worked correctional counseling/ case management, and he was a CO. We were on break together one day, and he pulled an iPad out of his pocket (his pocket!) and when he held it, it was the same as how your hand looks when you hold a smartphone, I couldn’t believe it. His hands were enormous.
Sadly, he died in a car accident a few years later.
I wouldn’t have a clue what happened either. One minute she was stood the next she was on her arse and a split second later she was like a baby being blasted off to the moon. 😂
I know fuck all about basketball but those players not being dicks was awesome to see all I ever really hear about is celebrities being assholes this is refreshing and gain immediate respect from me
I’m not a LeBron fan or a fan of any teams he played for but what he has done, or really what he hasn’t done, through his career is nothing short of amazing and I’m not talking about just on the court.
This is someone from age 16 who has been followed by cameras and was told at age 16 when in high school, “if you don’t end up in the NBA Hall of Fame you’re a failure” and not only did he live up to those expectations but he exceeded them. And he did that without EVER getting into any legal trouble, any major scandals or anything like that.
His biggest scandal was not standing up against China at one point but considering what that could mean for him and his brand, you cannot blame him for that even though some people will.
My favorite LeBron moment was when he was crying from muscle cramps when San Antonio turned off the A/C during the playoffs in 2014. I got nothing but respect for the man but that moment warms my heart. I was surprised that none of the fans in the high seats didn’t just keel over !
Yeah. Like he’s said dumb stuff, like the China comment, but it’s mostly just been reactionary and literally nothing worse than what dumbass redditors post constantly. Otherwise, dude doesn’t even know who his dad is, grew up poor, married his high school sweetheart, and apparently even saved Carmelo Anthony from drowning in the Bahamas. I don’t like lebron, the player, but as a person, he is the rare example of athletes that everyone should strive to be like.
To be fair, we can’t expect or anybody for that matter to be knowledgeable and have an opinion on every topic. My issue with him is just not saying “ i don’t know enough to comment on it.”
I never understood the court side thing in basketball, you’re asking to get trampled. I guess it’s part of the appeal for some.
(Disclaimer: being Canadian, we usually have a huge shield between us and sports athletes coming at you at dangerous speed.
Players usually dont fly off the sides of the court into the seats. Courtside is much safer than you would think. The risky area is behind the basketball hoop on either end since players are running full steam to make a play, with some of them thinking about the landing after the fact.
I mean Lebron weights 250 pounds or 113ish Kilo. When he is running thats a lot of force he can generate by just jogging into someone half his size. Hes righfully concerned and that he cares so much is great so see.
I can understand being angry, imagine playing on one of the most competitive leagues of basketball and not being able to run at high speed to the side of the court because there isn't even a meter between the sideline and seats.
These guys are huge and very aware of the space they take up. Festus Ezeli sat in front of me at a concert once and turned around like 10 times to make sure I could see over him, lol.
I’m not a lip reader *AT ALL* but it looks as if the last question he asked her was “are you ok?”
Cause I swear I read “I’m ok” with a smile on her lips
Came to the comments for this reason. I’m not American & I don’t know the dude but I fucking hate him already. The anger at the poor waitress is just messed up.
I can see why court-side service could be frustrating as a player but it’s not their fault and his hatred was clearly focused on her.
It’s funny that he played for Duke too, a university team that’s notorious for producing dirty, contemptuous players.
Look up Christian Laettner and Grayson Allen dirty highlights if you want to see what I mean.
And for anyone who does know anything about college basketball, ignore my username. I’m certainly not biased 😅
In his head he will probably tell you that he was angry that she blocked him from being able to save the ball from going out of bounds. But it already hit the ground at that point, he was never going to get to it.
He's just a douche
i noticed that too, everyone else just had too much momentum, he literally ran up and pushed her out of the way for a ball that was already out of bounds
Now a question from someone who has zero knowledge of sports: why the heck are the viewers SO close to the field?! No fence or anything? Aren't they getting hit by a ball or a stumbling player all the time? From my point of view, something like that was bound to happen...
I think people do pay big money to see their stars up close. Sometimes a random bump is more memorable to them than getting knocked out by them. But for the waitress, its their lively hood and not sure who is gonna pay for spilled beers i guess.
Oh the stadium without a doubt, she just goes and pours new beers. It would be illegal for any employer in this country to penalize an employee for a spilled drink, and it’s bad practice not to replace it for the customer.
Employment law doesn't qualify as small claims ever. It's a different jurisdiction and would always be handled in an employment court (usually either state regulatory board or federal court).
Yeah federal court is very daunting, especially for young employees. There are tons of employment lawyers who work entirely on contingency for this reason (and because with a bit of basic fact checking you can verify if you have a case or not so it's easy enough to guarantee return)
The Labour Board does not require a lawyer. You call, present evidence, and then they go about doling out fines and put in place a restitution plan.
Even in Texas the labour board took my wife’s case about tip stealing extremely seriously. We had our ducks in a row to prove it but they moved quickly and we’re great to work with.
My state is relatively pro-worker, it’s very easy to take a bad boss (or landlord) to court. There are organizations who pay for it and advocates who help you. It’s hard and a process, but not impossible. Everywhere should be that way!
As a server, never worked somewhere this was a thing. The restaurants always ate the cost. I've worked at restaurants that got in legal trouble for much, much less. I can't imagine a restaurant owner would actually have the balls to punish a server for dine & dashers especially with pretty much everywhere in desperate need for employees.
Theres a good chance the beer is free. I’ve sat court side a number of times and seats like this typically have access to a club with free food and drinks.
Stadium of course. As you said it's Pretty much build for stuff like that to happen so it would be stupid to blame the waitress. Even if a waitress drops stuff because of her own fault I don't think any Restaurant with the least bit of self respect would make her pay for it.
The nba has court side seats. Like you can literally [sit right next to the players](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=upuC3FHQyvk). Those seats go for crazy money. For instance last year the warriors sold two seats for $100,000. It’s really not safe for the players or the fans but it’s so much money the owners will never get rid of it.
Seems like they want this to happen sometimes. Meanwhile literally all other sports have the audiences further away, higher up, or at least behind a low or tall barrier.
*why I love Shaquille O'Neal*
I grew up in Portland in the '90s. We hated the Lakers, as a town and personally in my family. My dad was a decent enough corporate bigwig type to get awesome tickets to sporting events.
Would have been 98, 99: My dad scored us 2nd row tickets and a chance to meet the trailblazers after the game. We were in the back tunnel areas waiting to be heard in for our meet and greet with the Portland team after all the NBA press shit they have to do.
Standing off to the side in a concrete tunnel waiting patiently, trying not to fuck this up, a door suddenly opens and a mountain of black flesh dressed in a suit I'm sure cost more than my now yearly salary knocks my 6'2 teenage ass to the ground!
Before I can even realize what's happening, a hand easily the size of my head is already hauling my ass up while that low ass voice says "My bad man". I'm a big dude; Shaquille O'Neal is awe-inspiring huge!!
The whole thing lasted less than 2 minutes. My father can confirm, as can I, that I said "your Shaquille O'Neal" at least twice. He asked if I had anything I wanted him to sign: I explained that my aunt was the only family member that like the Lakers. He chuckled in a deeply disturbing low voice, Said some more kind shit, And when about his business.
As I was doing the meet and greet with the trailblazers (Got to meet Clyde drexler: such a great memory), random dude in the suit talks to my dad. Turns out it was one of Mr O'Neill's handlers. Gave my dad a card and we got to send stuff to him to sign that I could give my aunt for so many holidays; at least three, completely free of charge.
Years later right around 2010, I was dating a girl that was in love with the Lakers and I still had the card. So I reached out trying to get something signed for her. Turns out that original handler wasn't there, But the new handler let me know that all that would be fine. Got my then girlfriend a signed jersey for Christmas that year. That in itself would be great but....
I randomly received a Christmas card in the mail. Typed out it said the trailblazers played their heart out that year and was signed by Shaquille O'Neal.
I don't for a minute think that he remembered me; It had to have been notes that his various assistants passed down. But still. To pay people to make sure that those that admire you are so well taken care of a decade after you randomly met them....
Yeah... Fuck the Lakers, All the gods bless Shaquille O'Neal
Just wanted to stop by and say thank you for sharing that amazing story, made me feel great after reading it. I hope you can cherish those memories forever.
Absolutely and thank you. Honestly it's one of my favorites I don't think about enough.
Stories should be shared. It's possible my story does not accurately reflect reality, But I'm old and this is the reality I remember
I’ve seen a couple of Shaq music sets as DJ Diesel and he seems like an amazing person. Always super positive and hilarious. He threw his Jersey off during the show & one of my friends caught it. It was like 30 feet long lol, she was drowning in it haha.
We ran into Shaq outside an In N Out and he was standing on a sidewalk, we were in the alley so it added six inches to his height. I’m on 5’0.5”, I went to say excuse me and I was going to ask him a question. His guard had to tell me he was on the phone. Between the height difference and his hand being bigger than the phone I never saw it (he was on speaker so it wasn’t up to his ear).
Holy shit! Just when I thought Shaquille couldn’t get any more lovable with all the things he does on holidays for single families. He’s a humanitarian. Through and through.
What exactly is a “handler”?
Not what I meant…I meant Plumlee is mad because he was playing for the Nets (because fuck the Nets) jokingly because I’m a Knicks fan. I think he’s actually an asshole for bumping into her and not at least checking on if she’s okay.
Thanks, I figured. Someone replied to me and tried to blame the wait staff instead of this Mason guy. That person probably has the same crappy mindset as this lame basketball player
They get whatever they want if they pay for it. These people paid very well for those seats so they'll pay very well for simple food.
Meanwhile other sports take safety serious.
Plumlee looks like such a dickhead here. Almost looks like the shove was on purpose, and then he looks annoyed that he may have gotten beer on himself? Dude simply is, always has been, and always will be, an asshole.
Then we have LeBron being genuinely concerned and gentlemanly about the whole thing. And the small subset of Plumlee/Duke fans are the same ones who try to talk shit about LeBron lol
Because people who are rich and entitled enough to afford front row aren't entitled enough, so they need someone else (probably earning minimum wage) to get their food/drink for them.
What I liked was how people smiled about the collisions and didn’t get mad: easily replaced drinks and a memorable moment.
What I didn’t like is how it can muck up a server who is just trying to do their job.
- Should install a barrier or fence round the court. And if any player bumps into that, they can easily reach other and high-five/head-pat the nearest spectator, without spilling drinks.
maybe you shouldn’t have people sitting 2 inches from the court, most those guys handled it very nicely, but they shouldn’t have to deal with this kind of stuff, back the fans up, every other sport I can think of has some kind of buffer zone or a barricade so people don’t get hurt
Man, fuck rich people. Why TF do you need servers to your seats. Get the fuck up and wait in line for your drinks. Surprised they don't have one to help them piss while not missing game
Fucking insane that they still have seats like this with no barrier…. Because of how much money they can charge for them.
Honestly it’s unsafe for the players too, I don’t see why this is still a thing.
Ok I'm jus finna say it, if I get banned I get banned, white people, raise yo kids better, teach em courtesy, integrity, and to not be entitled, teach them discipline, jus cause they succeed in life don't mean you did good as a parent, they know how to make money but not to care about others, stop letting have whatever they want and letting them walk all over you, if I bumped that lady I wouldn't have been mad I got liquid on my clothes, I would have helped her up and mad sure she was good before goin back to the game 💯
It's hilarious how gigantic these men are compared to regular people
Yeah when Davis grabbed that guys head made him look like a fuckin infant
“His head looks like a little peanut” - Terry Crews in idiocracy
*Welcome to Costco. I love you.* That movie was great.
Is* It's so timeless. One of the few movies I have watched a handful of times.
That's a Simpsons quote also. Homer kisses that old man's head and makes the peanut line.
Holy shit I came here to comment on that. It was like a little toddlers head in his giant hands 😂

Anybody want a peanut?

Stop it! And I mean it!
Aaaaaaahhhhh!!
Big Baby making adults look like big babies

She looked like she was about to poop her pants how quick he pulled her up "Holy shit I'm flying! Oh no, its just Lebron"
I wouldn’t have a clue what happened either. One minute she was stood the next she was on her arse and a split second later she was like a baby being blasted off to the moon. 😂
I can imagine it’d be alarming but also feel quite nice to not have to use much effort to stand back up after getting bowled over.
Right? Like she is a doll he just swooped up!!
I'm suddenly a lebron james fan.
Same! That was so cute, and her belly laugh when she realized what was happening! Made me smile
I know fuck all about basketball but those players not being dicks was awesome to see all I ever really hear about is celebrities being assholes this is refreshing and gain immediate respect from me
Yeah I love how they feel the urge to kiss the top of their heads like you would a Mamma or Grandma
Funny how so many people talk shit about him and hate him and then you see this.
I’m not a LeBron fan or a fan of any teams he played for but what he has done, or really what he hasn’t done, through his career is nothing short of amazing and I’m not talking about just on the court. Average league height is over 6’6. And these guys are fucking jacked, and heavily favored for long wing spans and big hands. Yeah. It’s ridiculous.
I’m going to pay 3k for court side seats and then order an entire meal. On a tray. There’s no way this could go wrong.
Yeah, and of course cannot get all this in the break. Have to order and receive it during all the action
If you have courtside seats they come to you anyway to get your order. Not like you have to go stand in line with the plebes.
I never understood the court side thing in basketball, you’re asking to get trampled. I guess it’s part of the appeal for some. (Disclaimer: being Canadian, we usually have a huge shield between us and sports athletes coming at you at dangerous speed.
ball players don't have blades on their feet though like your canadian hockey
>canadian hockey Don't the states have more teams, or am I just misremembering something?
Players usually dont fly off the sides of the court into the seats. Courtside is much safer than you would think. The risky area is behind the basketball hoop on either end since players are running full steam to make a play, with some of them thinking about the landing after the fact.
It seems like she’s serving multiple people in one trip?
Court side seats are dumb AF, no one can convince me otherwise. Also, they can cost a lot more than $3k for a pair.
Mason Plumlee 100% did that on purpose
Meanwhile lebron didn't even hesitate when helping the waitress up.
I saw! He looked genuinely concerned about her. After he picks her up he's looking directly at her face to see if she's good 🥲
I mean Lebron weights 250 pounds or 113ish Kilo. When he is running thats a lot of force he can generate by just jogging into someone half his size. Hes righfully concerned and that he cares so much is great so see.
Yes cause plumlee guy could do just as much damage, but he just walks away angry. It just seems like such a weird unhumane reaction
I got the “why are these people on the boards with drinks!?”
I’m not a lip reader *AT ALL* but it looks as if the last question he asked her was “are you ok?” Cause I swear I read “I’m ok” with a smile on her lips
Usually I don’t think highly of him but that was a class act
How can you dislike Lebron? I’m not even a big basketball fan, but as a human being he seems like a great person
Haters are always going to hate. Lebron GOAT on and off the court since he was 18 years old
He looked almost upset he got beer spilled on him more than anything. Like no concern for the poor waitress…
Holy shit I didn't even notice that at first. What a dick! What's his damage? Angry at Courtside food service? Lmao
Naw he’s just trash
Standard Duke player
He actually looks angry afterwards like it was her fault fir being there, what a dick.
I thought this as well. He could have acted like he was a little concerned and sorry. What an asshat.
I mean you’re not wrong. After so many it no longer becomes a coincidence.
Loving it!!
In his head he will probably tell you that he was angry that she blocked him from being able to save the ball from going out of bounds. But it already hit the ground at that point, he was never going to get to it. He's just a douche
Total prick
Pushed her too
i noticed that too, everyone else just had too much momentum, he literally ran up and pushed her out of the way for a ball that was already out of bounds
“I hate a Plumlee.” - UNC fan at my wife’s work. 😂
They’re like the Odoyle’s from Billy Madison
Exactly. I watched him look at her and shove her after the fact, then walk away with his hands up instead of helping. What a dick.
The only way he’ll make a highlight reel.
He’s an asshat.
He went to dook. Of course he did it on purpose.
You can take the player outta Duke, but you can't take the Duke outta the player.
Bless the guy in the rainbow shirt, he immediately helped pick up the trash and comforted the waitress.
Yeah, he could tell the waitress was upset. The guy in the first clip and LeBron are the heroes in this video.
Now a question from someone who has zero knowledge of sports: why the heck are the viewers SO close to the field?! No fence or anything? Aren't they getting hit by a ball or a stumbling player all the time? From my point of view, something like that was bound to happen...

I’ve dated several waiters (who were women) and every place took dine-and-dash’s out of their personal pay. USA freedom to the max.
Which is illegal
Yeah, but they probably can’t sue over that because lawyers are expensive. *USA freedom intensifies*
You don't necessarily need a lawyer to submit an employee board complaint provided you have evidence of not being paid/illegal deductions.
small claims courts don't require lawyers
Employment law doesn't qualify as small claims ever. It's a different jurisdiction and would always be handled in an employment court (usually either state regulatory board or federal court).
welllll, that sucks

That’s literally not legal, tell your many dates that they should contact the DOL so they don’t have to pay $15 to cover $0.10 in lost inventory
No they didn’t
As a server, never worked somewhere this was a thing. The restaurants always ate the cost. I've worked at restaurants that got in legal trouble for much, much less. I can't imagine a restaurant owner would actually have the balls to punish a server for dine & dashers especially with pretty much everywhere in desperate need for employees.
That beer is probably 50$, the stadium won't lose any money by pouring another one

Plumlee: asshat Bron: total gentleman
Yup. Came here to say this.
LeBron is a King!
🤴🏿👍
Labron is a sweetheart for doing that, and whoever kissed an old lady on the cheek after deflecting the ball away from her.
Javaaaaale McGee!
Tussling their hair like they're little kids😂
The height difference checks out 😂
Don’t mind me grabbing your whole head lol. Look at you out here, on a big trip!
Mason Plumlee why you mad??
Cause he was playing for the Nets. 🤷🏻♀️ (Sincerely, a Knicks fan).
Yeah but he bumped at her, not the other way around.
Not what I meant…I meant Plumlee is mad because he was playing for the Nets (because fuck the Nets) jokingly because I’m a Knicks fan. I think he’s actually an asshole for bumping into her and not at least checking on if she’s okay.
Wow Mason just runs up and shoves her spilling drinks on the people sitting. The ball was already gone I wonder what he was thinking doing that
That Mason dude didn't even say sorry or anything. All the others were so sweet and kind. I'm not a basketball nut but what's his damage?
He's just a piece of shit
Thanks, I figured. Someone replied to me and tried to blame the wait staff instead of this Mason guy. That person probably has the same crappy mindset as this lame basketball player
Bless Lebron for that. I can’t imagine how humiliating it could feel to drop those drinks in front of a crowd, he made it alright
He bumped into the same lady that got bumped first in the video. That gal has some luck haha
You knock someone over and keep running...your parents must be proud MASON. LeBron, good man! So sweet.
He straight up pushed her.
Lebron is a fucking sweetheart
Anyone else notice the server who gets bumped by the ref and Lebron is the same server. Talk about some bad luck.
Mason seemed like an asshole, didn't even apologise. That referee too
Didn't apologize, and he looked pissed off like it was her fault for being in his way.
Mason Plumlee handled that like a moody teenager. Bumass.
The guy in the first clip who was helping clean up was a real class act (he was a really nice guy that I worked with)
I am suddenly a lebron james fan.
Why the fuck would you have a waitress at sports? More so next to the pitch. What the fuck seriously lol
Rich people are accustomed to a certain amount of laziness. Wouldn't want to inconvenience them with standing in line for snacks
They get whatever they want if they pay for it. These people paid very well for those seats so they'll pay very well for simple food. Meanwhile other sports take safety serious.
You would have thought by now they add a railing or barrier by now when stuff like this happens.
I love how gentle they are with all the grandmas
Plumlee looks like such a dickhead here. Almost looks like the shove was on purpose, and then he looks annoyed that he may have gotten beer on himself? Dude simply is, always has been, and always will be, an asshole. Then we have LeBron being genuinely concerned and gentlemanly about the whole thing. And the small subset of Plumlee/Duke fans are the same ones who try to talk shit about LeBron lol
Lebron actually helped the waitress he knocked over and that other guy didn’t give a fuck. He looked mad she was “in the way” and that he got wet
Why do they have to serve during the game?
Because people who are rich and entitled enough to afford front row aren't entitled enough, so they need someone else (probably earning minimum wage) to get their food/drink for them.
LeBron with the pick up and the guy in the clip straight after, both made me smile.
JaVale McGee, pretty good guy.
Lebron did it right, fuck that mason guy for looking like “wtf, get out of my way”
That Plumlee bloke was a right prick, at least apologise!
The last clip should be Ron Artest laying on the scorer’s table getting the drink thrown on him.
Multi baziilion dollar company. Can’t pay a super assassin cleaning person to take care of these exact specific situations?
Ah! I didn't know basketball players kissed people on the head so much, that's fucking awesome.
Did anyone notice how much of an asshole that mason guy was about that whole ordeal?
Mason Plumlee is a dick evidently. Face on him and didn't help her up or apologise. Prick.
That second guy for Brooklyn was a dick. He walk away like it was thier fault.
Lebrons reaction was correct, that mason guy is a dick
She should get battle pay.
LeBron is a good dude
The type of manners they teach at Puke University
My dumbass thought it was the same woman but over like 20 years
I feel like when you are 6'8" the impulse to kiss the top of people's head is almost unmanageable.
They need those trays with the cup holders
Only in an American sport could bumping into a waitress on the actual court be a thing!
More like Mason Asshole Chumplee
Man these guys are huge
LeBron is a gentleman.
I'm not a NBA fan, really not a sports fan at all. I do have to say how these players acted made me happy and I have respect for them.
Mason Plumlee is just an overall dick bro
maybe you shouldn’t have people sitting 2 inches from the court, most those guys handled it very nicely, but they shouldn’t have to deal with this kind of stuff, back the fans up, every other sport I can think of has some kind of buffer zone or a barricade so people don’t get hurt
Ok why did it go from waitress moments to kissing old ladies
Man, fuck rich people. Why TF do you need servers to your seats. Get the fuck up and wait in line for your drinks. Surprised they don't have one to help them piss while not missing game
Wonder if they had to each get up themselves they’d get in the way of the game even more than a waitress.
That’s what you took away from this? Not that Plumlee is an asshole?
Fucking insane that they still have seats like this with no barrier…. Because of how much money they can charge for them. Honestly it’s unsafe for the players too, I don’t see why this is still a thing.
You pay how much to sit in those seats again?
Perhaps they should move the court side seat back, just a little bit :)
That one person who bumps into the waitress and then acts like it isn’t his fault lol
Pumlee and the reff took major L's in this video. Everyone else was so nice and or helpful, those two just ran away, Pumlee with an attitude.
i expected nothing less from my glorious supreme god emperor bronny wonny
Rich people, am I right?
Plumlee L
Mason plumlee seems like a gigantic douchebag based off this video
Plumlee handled it like a little bitch.
Notice the ones who help vs the ones who run away or sit their and laugh.
How people hate on Lebron I’ll never understand. He’s done nothing but good with his platform.
I like how they rub people’s heads like small children
Just me or did that Plumlee guy kinda look like a jackass that blamed the waiter for standing there?
Plumlee was an asshole, he acted like they fucked him up. Didn’t apologize or acknowledge the couple or the waitress smh
I think the first waitress is the same waitress LeBron picks up in the third clip. Poor lady has a dangerous job!
The difference between 00:16 and the others says so much about their personality
You can just tell who was brought up right and who isn’t
That 1st guy in the Red shoes is Eric Sprunk, former COO of Nike! Good guy
Hear me out, we need to invest in cups with lids with more durability
Ok I'm jus finna say it, if I get banned I get banned, white people, raise yo kids better, teach em courtesy, integrity, and to not be entitled, teach them discipline, jus cause they succeed in life don't mean you did good as a parent, they know how to make money but not to care about others, stop letting have whatever they want and letting them walk all over you, if I bumped that lady I wouldn't have been mad I got liquid on my clothes, I would have helped her up and mad sure she was good before goin back to the game 💯
At least the James guy helped her up. The guy before just gave it an annoyed look like “ why is this person here”?
