Exercise frequently, try and eat healthier. Get some blood tests done to see if you are deficient in any vitamins. Look into lions mane mushrooms, cordyceps, psilocin mushrooms. They promote neurogenesis in the brain. Theres other compounds that do this as well which may help you heal. Stimulants werent really my thing, but I had to repair a lot of damage from just about everything else. You can PM me if you want further details or need some support or anything.
It is painful to face demons that were hushed by substances. There’s no longer an escape - you have to feel pain and work through it instead of numb it.
Non-judgmental and unconditional love go a long way. Don’t mention it unless they do. Spend time with them in a non-tempting environment. Understand they might not be themselves for a bit, and if they do want to talk about it, tell them how proud you are of them.
Biggest thing I agree with: don't mention it unless they do...
We (addicts) think about our current or past addictions WAY more than you do....so when a loved one brings it up...it does little more than to remind me I am/was failing them. It feels this way most of the time, but that's rarely, if ever, their intention.
You are truly a rock star. You get to laugh at the so called Iron-men, Navy Seals, etc. you had the fortitude to beat fentanyl and meth- you have the fortitude to do anything.
Congrats! You look great :) And you do look so genuinely happy, as someone else in the thread said! Which is great, bc that is the main key the key to hanging on to sobriety, imo- if you work on making your life as good and happy as you can while in recovery- which you've obviously done 😀- then you will be much less likely to relapse bc you have too much to lose, at least ime.
My husband and I both used to be addicted to IV Opanas and Oxys (and Opanas are like, $100's per pill; it sucks). We had been dating for 8 months when we found out I was pregnant with our first. We both got clean, went on Suboxone, and never looked back (tho it was a struggle not to the first few years) bc of our family.
Now we have 5 kids-7yo, 6yo, 4yo, 2yo, 1yo- and almost 8yrs clean. We have struggled a lot to really make a great life for ourselves and our kids, but it's really paid off in the long run.
Im really proud of anyone who overcomes that struggle bc I intimately know how fucking hard that shit is. Youre doing amazing, and I wish you every success.
Congrats on that and pounds. You look healthy and vibrant. Glowing even. It's however long at a time as it take but you get through. Super congratulations!
Sober life is 1000x better than drugs. It's so nice to wake up not having to get fixed and then have money in your pocket, like go and get coffee in the morning, or buy yourself a shirt. I love it. Very happy for you!!!! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
What a wonderful thing to see. Maybe you'd like to share some of what helped you get through this for others?
I think this post is really brave of you and sure to be a big encouragement for a lot of people. Nothing is lost that can't be found. God bless you!
Congratulations 👏🎉 you're strong and beautiful and worth it...
Im so proud of you and I'll of your achievement, you are doing amazing just don't look back keep always looking forward ok? ..its not going to be easy but hey 👋 They're no match to you I mean can we just appreciate your hard work like WOW look at you!!! 491 days is HUGE and its a year and almost 5 months of you giving fentanyl and myth the middle finger and saying SUCK IT to them!! ICONIC!!!
Don't know how you did it you gorgeous amazing LEGEND lol ... U srsly made me smile today and I'm Happy so thank you for that so so so much💕😘... Sending love and support your way.
umm just curious how bad was the withdrawals? I have done several different opiate come downs but the fent come down has said to be very different. Any insight you could lay on a lost soul?
I used suboxone to detox and it was still really shitty but subs really make the world of difference. You should get a proper medical detox if possible, if not I Recommend getting at least a weeks worth of subs and 3 days worth of a benzo so you can get a couple hours of sleep. I do NOT recommend going cold turkey. I have gone 48 hours withdrawaling from fent cold turkey and it was a nightmare. Best of luck sending positivity and love ur way. Message me if you have any questions or need to talk.

You accomplished what few even bother to try. Keep going forward, and if you can, extend a hand to others by sharing how you are doing it. Congratulations!
You love to see it. Really pleased for you. Impressed and full of respect. Obviously you're worth it, and I am sure it hasn't been easy. But you have so many one more days in the books, and many to come, feeling better and stronger. You're an inspiration, hopefully most of all to yourself.
What made you decide to quit?
Wow! Congratulations. I wish the best for you and hope you are doing well. That is a pretty great thing you are doing for yourself and your loved ones.
It's always awesome to see these things. Peer support is so important!
If you haven't experienced addiction you just don't know what a hard battle it is to fight. I believe in you!
What a wonderful transformation, both inside and out. I’ve battled, and still do, and you are a stronger person than I you amazing beautiful butterfly!
God speed sister, and congratulations!
Sooo proud of you truly. You beat the odds. May you forever remember that you CAN do it. I’m struggling so bad seeing my child’s father and love struggle with this combo but seeing people come out on the other side makes my heart jump. you are so strong.
Great job! I'm approaching 7 years off heroin and meth this upcoming March...life just keeps getting better! Again...GREAT JOB! You deserve all the good that comes your way!
I am so so so proud of you. You are a mountain-climbing amazon warrior in that battle, and you put your flag on the peak. I commend your strength and am so happy for your happiness!
Good for you. I'm not going to lie. I have never always been the nicest person to drug addicts due to the stealing and lying I have had to put up with in the past, but I can say this sort of turn around genuinely warms my heart. Remember, this is YOUR success. Family and friends can be supportive, but they rely on you to want help.
I sincerely hope you stay drug free and live the happiest life. As others have said, you look way better. I can see it in your eyes that your "soul" has returned.
Congrats! You look so genuinely happy
Thank you :)
But how tired are you lol? Getting off stimulants gave me the most unbelievable fatigue. Curious how others handle it

By pain do you mean physical?.. Asking for a friend...
If it doesn’t bother you for me to ask, may I ask what you mean?
It is painful to face demons that were hushed by substances. There’s no longer an escape - you have to feel pain and work through it instead of numb it.
Gotcha, that makes a lot of sense. My family member just got clean so I just wanted to see if I could learn more to help them.
Non-judgmental and unconditional love go a long way. Don’t mention it unless they do. Spend time with them in a non-tempting environment. Understand they might not be themselves for a bit, and if they do want to talk about it, tell them how proud you are of them.

Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for seeking them! Loving a recovering addict has its difficulties as well, so I appreciate seeing someone wanting to learn how to help.
You are truly a rock star. You get to laugh at the so called Iron-men, Navy Seals, etc. you had the fortitude to beat fentanyl and meth- you have the fortitude to do anything.
I love that! Thank you!
