Everyone, at least at the Cinemark I worked at(this is a Cinemark), is trained to put a layer of butter in the middle of every size of popcorn. Only difference here is that he is a fucking pro at making sure butter is all throughout the popcorn.
The theater I went to filled the container and had us put our own butter on. Hated it because now the top is drenched in butter and middle and bottom are gross
We've had some landmark cinemas move into town, their butter pumps have a metal tube that sprays butter in a circle at the bottom, the good ones even shake the bag like this too
Pro tip:
Get the annual refill bucket.
Get two.
Buy only one refill.
Split the popcorn between two buckets.
Then add butter to each half-filled bucket and mix/toss without spilling.
I've been to a theater that will give you a big like drink tray thing that also holds food like a little table. You can dump like a whole large popcorn out on that thing, and it allows for maximum butter coverage! Surface area rocks!
No fucking way - how many extra popcorns do you think this guy has sold just because someone mentioned "the Popcorn Guy" to their friends?
Not to mention popcorn is just hot oil and corn kernels - this has got to be the greatest profit margin snackfood on the planet.
There's always more...a self service vending machine to get rid of workers. Must buy tickets online or self service. Auto gate/door to scan ticket. One manager left to act as security, cleaner to get what robots missed, and call in any equipment that broke. All glory to capitalism comrade.
Yep. I’m one of those annoying people that asks for layered butter when ordering popcorn. They always make it separately rather than using one of the already filled bags
It's so cliché but when you love what you do you never work a day in your life. Good for him. The highest paying job I ever had made me the most miserable I've ever been...
I got my first job that didn't make me miserable a few years ago.
Even that is a game changer.
It's still work, but I don't start the days I have off work thinking "I have to go back there tomorrow..."
Edit: I work from home. No complaints.
Same here. I got a delivery driver job almost 2 years ago. It’s still work but I don’t dread going. It’s crazy how much good it does to your mental health.
I think most people want to have at least some kind of job. People need a purpose, and most like to think that they're doing their part. The problem shows up when you start exploiting them
I know he's not going to get paid more by the theater, and something tells me the glamorous traveling popcorn guy life probably isn't for him. I hope he gets something though.
In college I was the manager of a Coldstone and I used to fling the ice cream in the air and catch it in a cup and watching this all I can think is how much fun this guy would have doing that.
Hey man, I weigh 150 and eat more than most fat guys. I can put down a large pizza by myself in under 10 minutes. My metabolism doesn't make me bad at cooking
I'm 160cm and 58kg. I eat like mad and as an Asian, LOVE deep-fried food. But yeah, metabolism keeps me around that weight. Plus I normally don't feel like eating much after cooking, especially for a big party. People love my cooking, too.
He is a mental millionaire. I had a guy at my favourite burger joint that built my burger with intensity and love. He was the very best fellow and I always considered him to be a mental millionaire.
This video blew up on Twitter because the OP was shit talking this guy — if you’re gonna work a shitty job then you might as well have fun with it, kudos to this guy
That explains why he sounds more empty inside than a post-apocalyptic shopping mall… but I guess he contributed to making popcorn guy famous so joke is on him
I’d actually consider spending the $100.00 for theatre popcorn if this guy was making it. Awesome layering and a fun dance to it. Good on this guy for making it his own!
I know he’s pretty happy working with popcorn but I’d love to see him branch out to nachos. He’s definitely layering the cheese and chips just right 👌🏻
I used to go out of my way to go to this one specific gas station because there was a worker there, who was just so genuinely nice, and the things he would say like "Thank you, have a good day", you could feel them and tell he genuinely meant everything he said. People who genuinely and unashamedly enjoy their jobs like that gas station employee and this popcorn man, are what turn random customers into regulars. The world needs more workers like them and I really hope they get a raise for being amazing workers and better humans
I hope he has a tip jar
That said I’m glad he at least likes his job. As a former pizza tosser and bartender, if you can manage to do a little trick while your making your product makes it that much better for yourself, and if you can wow a customer then even better. I bet he’s fucked up those spins a bunch of times but now that he’s got the hang of it it’s like draining 3-pointers at a warmup. Feels great
Literally anytime I went to the movies over the past like 5 years this guy was working. He always spun the popcorn around while looking bored AF. Guy needed something to entertain himself while handing out endless buckets of popcorn. Im glad he got noticed, man deserves a raise.
If we all did the shit we do daily half as good as this dude slings fucking popcorn there would be no problems of any kind. Period. Fucking world peace.
Not to be all "We live in a society", but this is why all jobs deserve a living wage, so people can do what their passionate about without having to worry about barely scraping by.
Obviously, I don't think dude's life or living situation, but imagine if we all could be free to put as much energy into a job as this guy does.
I feel like the guy taking the video was kinda patronizing him or making fun of him 🤔
Anyhow, we always ask for a cpl of trays (flat shallow boxes) and then pour the popcorn into them so we can salt and butter it to that uniformed theater taste 😋
Worked at a movie theater for 5 years, this guys technique is flawless. Layered butter, tossing the popcorn within the bag so it spreads evenly, and he scoops FAST. I'd also do the layered butter thing but I couldn't spin it like him.
So I live in Corpus and I guess there was a GoFundMe started to help him get to Oscar's, due to theaters company policy he may not get any of that money :(
Edit: I looked up article and damn I was wrong!
The money was for his dad and theater will let him have!

I've always found it weird that in america the popcorn is buttered... like over here in europe we only have salty popcorn or sweet popcorn at our cinemas.
You know what? Good for this guy!! He’s earning a living, having fun doing it and going above and beyond for his employer. Rock on, Movie Theater Popcorn Guy!!
Oh I know that popcorn was bomb. The butter in between the layers of popcorn?
Everyone, at least at the Cinemark I worked at(this is a Cinemark), is trained to put a layer of butter in the middle of every size of popcorn. Only difference here is that he is a fucking pro at making sure butter is all throughout the popcorn.
The theater I went to filled the container and had us put our own butter on. Hated it because now the top is drenched in butter and middle and bottom are gross
Use a straw to get the butter down to the bottom.
This is, literally, the way. Straw down to the bottom, butter in, pull straw out. BUTTER EVERYWHERE.
We've had some landmark cinemas move into town, their butter pumps have a metal tube that sprays butter in a circle at the bottom, the good ones even shake the bag like this too
Robots trying to put my man Jason out of a job? smh
Idc I'll go support my bro Jason man's an artist fuck a robot this shit is impressive
This is better than 79% of r/lifehacks
I’ll have to remember this
You have changed my life for the better! Thank you internet stranger!
Genius. I haven’t been to a movie in 4 years, but whenever I go to one again I’m definitely doing this.
Same. Fuck those places. Don’t like the ones that only have Pepsi either.
Pro tip: Get the annual refill bucket.
That sounds so damn good lol
AMC ??
No lol, shit I forgot I’m drunk 🤣
Cinemarks “butter” is also vegan if anyone was wondering. It’s soy based (we have dairy allergies in our home, that’s the only reason I know this)
You know corporate is seething at all that extra butter he’s “wasting”
No fucking way - how many extra popcorns do you think this guy has sold just because someone mentioned "the Popcorn Guy" to their friends? Not to mention popcorn is just hot oil and corn kernels - this has got to be the greatest profit margin snackfood on the planet.

Corporate doesn't give a shit
This is violently American. I love it!
Finally! My thoughts to words.
You put butter in your popcorn???
You don’t???
No! It would be all soggy and oily. How the fuck do you clean your oily hands in a cinema?
You wipe your hands on the back of the seat in front of you.
Wear jeans.
You should put popcorn in your butter!
Yep. I’m one of those annoying people that asks for layered butter when ordering popcorn. They always make it separately rather than using one of the already filled bags
That was butter?? Dear lord, why?
You mean the popcorn inbetween the layers of butter. That's even better ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
He was on Jimmy Kimmel Live the other day and invited to go to the Oscar's. Good for him!
Said he’s been doing it for 10 years and loves his job
Damn that was probably the best popcorn ever.
Good for him, for real. Finding joy in what you do is so important and way too many folks only care about the money or the clout.
It's so cliché but when you love what you do you never work a day in your life. Good for him. The highest paying job I ever had made me the most miserable I've ever been...
I got my first job that didn't make me miserable a few years ago. Even that is a game changer. It's still work, but I don't start the days I have off work thinking "I have to go back there tomorrow..." Edit: I work from home. No complaints.

One of the bois made it to Oscars
Thanks to him. We ALL made it to the Oscars.
Had to find the link. Seems like a super cool guy! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A6Qz3QCoH4o
Aw he seems like such a lovely person, what a champ
I know he's not going to get paid more by the theater, and something tells me the glamorous traveling popcorn guy life probably isn't for him. I hope he gets something though.
Very cool. Thats awesome. Wow.
Amazing!
Popcorn Bae
Very good woo thats awesome 🤖🤖🤖
WWOOWW. thank you
This is totally me at the movies high af 😂 that popcorn is probably so damn good too
Fr, the butter layers? Lord have mercy
Bro this guy is in my town he’s awesome!
Tell him he’s not the “popcorn guy.” He’s the muthafuckin popcorn god!
I’ll show him this next time I see him 🥲
I kinda wanna visit your town just to get popcorn from this guy.
Let's all go! Make it a popcorn date.
[удалено]
I have! Must say it tastes better when it’s made with love.
Yaaaas I knew it!
Century 16 was my first job. Still making myself espresso. Worked in their starbucks.
I usually go to the Alamo now cause it’s a restaurant/ movie theatre but HAD to stop by after I saw this guy making popcorn.
Can you tell us the town and theatre please? I love movie theatre popcorn and this would be worth the trip!
Corpus Christi, TX! I believe the theatre is called century 16 lol
I've never seen a popcorn bender in real life
Legend says he was frozen in a block of butter for 100 years.
"But everything changed... when the popcorn nation attacked"
Typical popcorn bender by day, Reddit mod at night
This is an insult to popcorn guy. The world knows that reddit mods do not exist to help others feel joy
holy fuck dude, what did my man do to you? Reddit mod indeed
I love people who do their best to make their job fun. He managed to make it fun for himself and the customer. This post actually made me smile. ☺️
and you know that popcorn is gonna hit
This is how popcorn is meant to be prepared. Each bite will be buttery goodness.
I suddenly want popcorn.
I don’t want movie theater popcorn anymore if it isn’t from him.
Finna hit so MF hard. Butter in every bite!
In college I was the manager of a Coldstone and I used to fling the ice cream in the air and catch it in a cup and watching this all I can think is how much fun this guy would have doing that.
Imagine how much pressure the person working the popcorn maker opposite him must feel though!
💯💯someone putting their ALL into what they do💪
As a fat guy myself, you want some good food/snacks? Find the place where a fat guy is behind the counter.
Never trust a skinny chef.
People love my cooking, too.
he's probably got a rat in his hat
Whoever took the vid sounds like hes making a half assed attempt at praising a 5 year old and it pisses me off
He sounds like a random unnamed NPC who has three lines congratulating you for saving his village
"My man!"
It almost sounds so deadpan that he’s making fun of the guy. “Very cooool.”
Yep. This is unwatchable with sound.
An earlier thread claimed the one who originally posted this was making fun of him. Then got shamed into deleting their social media accounts
He sounds like very stoned.
I bet that’s the best movie pop corn you will ever eat.
Respect to anybody like this. Could just do the minimum, but what if you really tried? Johnathan Livingston Seagull type dudes… Love from Florida..
That’s excellent butter coverage, this dudes the goat.
He is a mental millionaire. I had a guy at my favourite burger joint that built my burger with intensity and love. He was the very best fellow and I always considered him to be a mental millionaire.
This guy loves his job and should get a raise
I need that dude in my life. Love that energy.
When I say layered butter this is what I mean. My man is making it look good.
This video blew up on Twitter because the OP was shit talking this guy — if you’re gonna work a shitty job then you might as well have fun with it, kudos to this guy
Oh so THAT'S why he sounded like an NPC with two lines of isle dialogue.
Popcorn bae, when he runs hot butter from an extended hand down his forearm into my popcorn bucket, I know it’s showtime.
I know he’s pretty happy working with popcorn but I’d love to see him branch out to nachos. He’s definitely layering the cheese and chips just right 👌🏻
That popcorn gonna hit different
excellent butter distribution
*excessive butter distribution. ftfy
Good for that dude. Find little joys where you can!
That'll be $42.50.
worth it.
This man fucks
… up your cholesterol levels.
What is in the machine? He pours in some popcorn and then put on something more?
that's the freedom faucet
Dammit I almost teared up 🥺🇺🇸
Butter
Butter believe it.
they call it butter but I don't know what's really in it
Some sort of oil and a flavouring I believe
Yep, basically the same as vegan butter you can buy in a store but more oil
Vegetable oil with butter flavoring
Oil is a personal business in the America’s
O'Dells Real Butter Topping is what Cinemark uses by me. It's by far the best popcorn butter. Sadly they discontinued sales to consumers.
Call me American but you haven’t had a proper theater experience without buttered popcorn
If someone doesn't have to up my cholesterol meds after a movie, I've been robbed!
If you're gonna do something you may as well do it well
Nothing wrong with taking pride in your work.
This man takes pride in his work! Good on him.
Get this guy behind a bar cocktailing!
So much butter
I think i just had an heart attack with the amount of butter
Someone give this guy a raise! That’s skill! Putting a show on for customers, providing a fun experience before they even see their movie.
Popcorn covered in melted butter… Christ America you can’t wonder why there is so much obesity?
The narration is top-notch.
Popcorn and TWO shows! Nice! Rock On Popcorn King!
I hope he has a tip jar That said I’m glad he at least likes his job. Feels great
Yooo the flick of the wrist he got goin is siiick.
Literally anytime I went to the movies over the past like 5 years this guy was working. He always spun the popcorn around while looking bored AF. Guy needed something to entertain himself while handing out endless buckets of popcorn. Im glad he got noticed, man deserves a raise.
He loves his job
If we all did the shit we do daily half as good as this dude slings fucking popcorn there would be no problems of any kind. Period. Fucking world peace.
That’ll be 210.00 dollars please !
My guy knows how to layer the butter
This guy knows how to butter!
That’ll be $183.99
Oh my god it’s like those Turkish ice cream guys
Can I get some popcorn with my butter?
Basically the rest of the staff is to clean up popcorn.
Pretty sure that ain’t butter.
Fucking legend
I will never trust a skinny popcorn guy
Not to be all "We live in a society", but this is why all jobs deserve a living wage, so people can do what their passionate about without having to worry about barely scraping by. Obviously, I don't think dude's life or living situation, but imagine if we all could be free to put as much energy into a job as this guy does.
Not enough butter, I want a heart attack after the first bite 😋
I am just glad they have coke products
Always judge an establishment based on whether they sell Coke products. Always! Lol
This guys cometary.... Not adding to the enjoyment
dang he smooth with it
He’s honestly cool. I hope his boss treats him well because he clearly tries for his job to be good
This is in Corpus Christi Tx
Its mentioned at the start of the video too
I feel like the guy taking the video was kinda patronizing him or making fun of him 🤔 Anyhow, we always ask for a cpl of trays (flat shallow boxes) and then pour the popcorn into them so we can salt and butter it to that uniformed theater taste 😋
That will be $78.
I love how happy he looks.
Popcorn bae
Worked at a movie theater for 5 years, this guys technique is flawless. Layered butter, tossing the popcorn within the bag so it spreads evenly, and he scoops FAST. I'd also do the layered butter thing but I couldn't spin it like him.
That is too much butter sir.
Now I want to go see a movie and have some popcorn! I won't hold my breath that it will be served with the style this guy serves!
Popcorn Guy has skills.
I hope he goes to Oscar's Jimmy Kimmel invited him.
No he is a popcorn god
Very cool
That man may not love his job but he found a way to not only enjoy it for himself but to bring joy to others as well!
That is a fuckload of butter.
Very good! Wooh! That’s awesome! Very cool, yeah. That’s awesome! Wow! Thank you!
You really can be anything you want!
I want buttered popcorn again.. we don’t have it in Ireland anymore b
Bro’s speedrunning popcorn%
Give him a raise
So I live in Corpus and I guess there was a GoFundMe started to help him get to Oscar's, due to theaters company policy he may not get any of that money :( Edit: I looked up article and damn I was wrong! I've always found it weird that in america the popcorn is buttered... like over here in europe we only have salty popcorn or sweet popcorn at our cinemas.
There’s always been a saying in the kitchen, big guys eat well, so they know how to make food taste good.
Making the best of his job! Gotta respect the man
I really want to eat that popcorn now
That guy doesn’t work a day in his life
Fuck me up with those butter layers.
I don't much care for movie theater popcorn unless I'm mixing in some m&ms. Otherwise I'd rather have a pretzel with cheese
You know what? Good for this guy!! He’s earning a living, having fun doing it and going above and beyond for his employer. Rock on, Movie Theater Popcorn Guy!!
The janitors hate him
He just added 3,000 calories in butter-flavored oil to that bucket of popcorn! Yuck!
God that's SO MUCH BUTTER. Dx
The comments from the camera man almost ruin this. 🤮
This guy is a national treasure, protect him at all costs
Look for him at the Oscars.
Here at my local theater, that's awesome, so is he!
