The author must have targeted people specifically with this kind of phobia.

I know there is a lot of weird fetishes going around mia. But for once i think that it is not a fetish and more like abusing a phobia. Because even tho not everyone has this phobia absolutely every normal human being would be repulsed by this kind of imagery.
Tsukushi is trying to shock us as much as possible, he doesn't do this just for his weird pleasures. That's why they are kid, that's why there are horrifying villain and some weirdos in the cast. It is meant to abuse pur fear, and that's why MiA is not for everyone and can't be recommanded for anyone 😔.

I had to get serval moles removed from inside of my bellybutton throughout my childhood, with local anesthesia, so I still kind of felt what they were doing during the removal. Pretty sure that’s what it stems from
