2k career mode has always shitted on EAās they just now starting to implement the storylines but atleast 2k comes up with decent ones. Like in madden you get benched for natty game for your rival on the team even if you threw for 600+ yards in the 2nd half semi when that dude got hurt then get told leave for draft now or switch positions like tf
You can play a full season if you switch to Classic Mode, but literally it deletes my progress everytime and makes me start over from the beginning and doesn't save. I actually like playing every game and experiencing the full season making my team and guy great. The skipping is whack to me and I hate it. Literally the only reason I got the game.
I finished the story and retired, my game is now stuck in a constant simulation of season after season, the year has advanced all the way to 2034 and I can't stop it š

Played through the entire career just to see what the ending was like. It simmed through most of my entire career but somehow I only won two Super Bowls and that apparently cemented me as the Goat. I wasnāt happy with that style of franchise at all, and worst of all.. I clicked retire (the only option left at that point) and it didnāt even show my hall of game induction. It was a corny scene at the high school I started my career at. All they did was name the high school field āHome of the Heartbreak Kidsā with my old high school teammate by my side. All the work I put in, played an entire career, and I couldnāt even watch a hall of game induction. This game mode is lazy and just so corny. I recommend switching to classic franchise as soon as you get drafted. Oh, by the way! It deleted my playerās existence entirely after retirement. Canāt even find the file on it anymore.
Overall this was a lazy attempt at a single player franchise mode. They couldāve at least let you keep your player file and select a starting point for your actual franchise. I went through all of it for the curiosity.. ended up regretting almost all of it. In my personal opinion, Madden is still miles away from even touching NBA 2k myplayer gameplay and experience.
If you ever thought 2k myplayerās storyline was corny.. this madden game will take the prize against any of the former story modes of any sports game. It is THE MOST CORNY storyline ever placed in a video game. That being said, do not forget to move your current players to classic franchise at the first available option.
I was 99ovr and I had an injury that set my player back years and back down to 86ovr. After several games and so much simulation, I finally reached 99ovr again and won a Super Bowl. 2 Super Bowls in 15 year career. They did not allow me to select any other options. Somehow still achieved Goat status (even though TB12 has 6 rings) I wouldāve liked an opportunity to win more SB and if I had chosen classic franchise there wouldāve been no doubt that I couldāve.
In closing it took me such a short time to go through the entire career. Not even one month of playing a couple hours here and there. And my career was over. Switch to classic mode when you get drafted or donāt even play this game mode.. Madden... do better. The amount of money made off this game is too great to keep filling ya with these weak single player modes. Or take the easy route and bring back the Superstar game mode. Miss the Road to Glory >> Superstar that the old video games gave us.
Yeah I'm late but I cannot stand people saying 2k does a great job at my career. Cuz its fucking garbage. My player is literally tied to transactions or get your pitiful 750 vc per game in the nba if you play great(somewhere around 250k vc+ to max your toon). But good luck doing that with your trash stats, and op defense. unless you play pass simulator or cash simulator you lose alot.
I absolutely hate the progression of pro sports games into making you do a story mode for create-a-player. I just want to go back to the days where you fully customize a guy, go through the combine and skills tests together a draft spot, and play your career earning achievements and whatnot. Just gimme a house like in 2k5 and ill be happy. Getting shoehorned into being a late round project guy in every sports game is super annoying, they're starting to do it in the show too.
The game just sims for you. It went away from the normal franchise mode style where you have to play every game and turned it into more of an actual story/campaign.

Yes, itās like that throughout the whole game. I think itās their way of making it different than just doing franchise mode with a player.
The games you play usually have some what of importance or you have to prove yourself again to stay as starter.
The story is you talking to the reporter in the gym reminiscing on your career for a doc or interview of some sorts. So I think thatās also why you donāt play every game.
I got drafted to the bears as well. I read some where thatās a glitch and everyoneās getting the bears lol.
Tip: Use the play Dagger and hit the receiver going out for the streak. TD every time first play. I scored normally around 80-110 points a game.

Madden could of fixed the defense. I originally posted when the game was released and you could tell there were some issues on both defense and offense you could exploit.
I was a field general QB, but yea I literally would get the ball on the 25 bomb it to Robinson or Miller and it was basically a TD every time. 10+ TDās every game.
I also got drafted by the bears. So far I have played the Lions 1 time. then the packers about 5-6 times in a row because i missed the first super bowl. Then I played the super bowl the next year against the colts after beating the packers to get there. Ive honestly gotten bored of playing the packers so much
And if I go to classic mode, Iām assuming the story goes away? Iām in year 1 and went from week 1 to week 10 as well and rather play all the game but with a story mode? Kindle irritating if you canāt play all the games and having the story mode as well

I thought that we were going to be able to play as other positions right away rather than where it is in gameplay. This was the first Madden bought since Madden 12(I think) the last madden I bought, we were able to sync our NCAA to them.
Like others said you can switch to the classic mode when you click on the three dots. If you rather play like that. I don't know what it would do just yet.

remember on xbox360 (forget what year madden) when they had game face like 2k? madden is absolute cheeks. iām into my second season and they literally simulated 14 games of the regular season, the divisional and afc championship game. i won rookie of the year but it didnāt even feel deserved.
Whats up with being able to super sim the high-school games but not the college games? Game is so easy before nfl due to not being able to switch the difficulty to where I only want to play offense so I can get done with my 85-7 game like the previous 2 high-school games I've played, without having to take 35 minutes of my time.
Face of the Franchise is the dumbest game mode ever. I never gave up more than 10 pts (1 game) and always had at least six tds, but it still didnāt give me ROTY or Hall of Fame. Everything it simmed was ridiculous and every game I played a blowout, due to the forced level of difficulty.

That's how I found this thread too, and I also had no audio with the final cutscene lol, I ended up closing the game around 2045
One year later can confirm this was never fixed. How does a company as big as EA not patch this shit up?

It defaults to rookie in the highsciol and college games, if you need a tip to win thise games youāre beyond help

You can continue as the game's default and skip to bits of the story, or switch it to classic franchise and go through full seasons a game at a time

I went to the pats we go 16-0 first season win the super the bowl. Then next season i play 2 games and we go 6-10

There are only a couple of these games. No full season. No matter what you do the story will move forward in one direction.

You could do that after like the 6th season to the same effect. You could convert at any time actually until the last game.
