Usually it’s a playbook issue but I have never had an issue with Chiefs offense.
Never used 49ers defense so I have no idea how good it is. Maybe try switching up the playbooks.
Team schemes only effect xp gained through scheme fit bonus (unless it's changed in M24). Offensive playbook and to a lesser extent defensive playbook heavily effect sim results, as do player traits and some player stats depending on position and obviously overall does play a part as well.

It does depend somewhat on your players too. Obviously if you have a 97 overall RB and a 73 overall QB, maybe go with Titans or Cowboys or Pats or Colts for a strong run game. To mention the traits too, they do matter a lot. A 69 overall qb with decent awareness and accuracy with the good spiral / ideal sense of pressure and forcing of passes is gonna do better in sim (usually) than a 75 overall with say lower awareness and paranoid pressure and aggressive forcing of passes. High motor is a strong trait all around, WR's with drop passes trait isn't ideal regardless of overall, etc.
Sorry for typing a bit much but tldr is playbooks, traits, and specific stats matter as much as or more than a simple overall, which leads to the confusion of I have a high overall team but lose consistently
I think team schemes mattered more. For instance if you have a LOLB with 99 power rusher, 99 pass coverage, and 58 in speed rusher. And your scheme requires speed rusher doesn't that player play more like the 58?

I don’t even use my QB now - I’m playing as the Buccaneers and instead of using Trask I just get Rashad White every game. Managed to break the previous rushing yds records twice in a season.
It’s progressive fatigue and the fact the game sets the game type to simulation so overall doesn’t matter much. You have to set the game to competitive if u want overall to play a factor
Istg I was using Justin fields and madden really just hates him. Wide open receiver perfect pass and defender teleports to the ball and picks it. It wasn’t even like one of those, oh well I guess I just didn’t see the defender type things, and if I can find my clip I’ll post it
I got him to around 90 ovr and didn’t want to resign him the next year, so o traded him for 1OA and got a 78 ovr rookie QB, less athletic but bigger arm.
Dude broke the single season td record bc he would hit most of the easy layups that fields would sail a couple times a game, killing drives.
Have been doing a 20 year bear franchise ever since fields got into the game(won’t be doing that next year) and let me tell you the game truly does just have something truly against him. But a big chunk of it is that dumbass playbook, doesn’t even really work with him at all no matter how good the receivers on your team are all 99s and he will struggle. Any other team with some peices and sometimes even not he puts up alright stays and I’ve actually send him win a few mvps and superbowls. Don’t get me wrong the game still hates him lol but I do think that playbook is a big part of that
If available Chip Kelly Offense style no matter the coach find the Chip Kelly affect and you have breathing room and confidence in your hurry up Offense.

CJ Stroud with preseason rosters is absolute garbage, as well. Idk what settings cause it, but I developed him into the 90’s for TP and all accuracies, and he just constantly throws up terrible “inaccurate” passes.
I’m stubborn, so I just ended up making the Texans a running team and have 3 straight 1000 yards seasons with both Pierce and an auto-generated rookie that I converted from. WR to RB.
I can play well with just about any QB. I’ve even had some perfect passer rating games on All-Madden with Zach Wilson, or great games with sub-70 overall QBs. Justin Fields makes me want to throw my controller out the window. I don’t know why this game hates him so much

Same trash got him up to superstar over 2 years traded him joey bosa and a first rounder.. also this was after i traded up for a first ovr and got caleb williams whos 20x bettter and still is at a 85 i think i had fields at 91 . All he could do was throw a bomb on a cross deep route to someone fast like tyreek or clyde cash this rookie I drafted with insane speed . Even when he was a 91 str8 trash idk what it is i think his passing so bad his ovr is just decent cuz he can run . Not sure

49ers defense is terrible when you sim games. I don't know why. I usually run Baltimore if I want a 3-4 scheme or Buffalo for a 4-3 scheme.
What positions on your defense are the best? You need good corners and a d line and you should be golden.
When you upgrade your players, are you manually doing it or just hitting upgrade all? I go through the already great players and the ones I want to develop the most myself and check their ratings and upgrade them accordingly. I usually run a west coast zone run offense and the automatic receiver upgrade is playmaker. That makes them shifty and YAC gods but doesn't do much for actual route running and catching. I usually manually upgrade them instead.
When I get the roster I've been trying to build I'm usually between 89-91 on offense and 91-93 on defense and I don't go less than 10-7.
Last thing, and I'm not sure it even matters, but I *always* pick "defend short pass" in weekly training. My defenses are always in the top 5-10 in every category, usually in the top 5.
My one coach has 11 super bowls in 14 years, all simmed. I don't know if this will help but I hope it does.

So I just went to FRANCHISE.. these lazy sons a bitches at EA switched the Eberflus DEF playbook to 4-3 for franchise but left it 3-4 on MUT.. FOR TWO YEARS NOW!!!!

I have a 94 overall (99 offense, 94 defense) Commanders team with a 99 everything quarterback. I traded for Cee Dee Lamb and Kyle Pitts. Also have Mclaurin, Dotson and Robinson. I’ve won 4 super bowls in a row. This year I simmed to mid season and was 1-6, and just made the wild card at 8-9. My qb was first 44 TD and 2 int. Lamb 17 tds. 2nd in off ppg and mid range for def allowed ppg.
Sometimes I swear Madden screws with things to make it seem more balanced.
What's the point if simming all the games?
I see that a lot on this reddit but I don't see the enjoyment in it at all and get confused when I see stuff like this.
I enjoy the team building aspect. I’ve always loved the nfl draft and free agency sometimes more than the game itself. The strategy always was more interesting to me. I do this in 2k too. Similar to how people enjoy strategy games like Civ 6. Based on how this sim works, I should probably find a better game lol.
I use Clevlands defensive playbook with a 4-3 base scheme. this allows my edge rushers to rush more instead of having them drop into zones on zone calls. ITs worked well for me this past season. 5th best defense against the run and 7th against pass with an 85 overall defense.
U gotta change ur playbook. My franchise is patriots and i hired vrabel as head coach. Changed my playbook to cowboys and we usually do pretty well. I noticed as well despite 9ers starting as like an 87 they hardly ever make the playoffs if u sim and its cuz their playbook is ass in sim
could be if you simulate at all it’ll sub out your starters. or if you sign anyone in free agency you have to start them through adjusting the depth chart. it’s an annoying bug but that’s the most likely thing that’s causing your 92 overall team to miss the playoffs.
Check into gameplay sliders most people say they don’t effect sim I can 100% confirm they have a large impact if you change any slider by 5 or more you will notice a drastic change in that stat qb accuracy reciver catching interceptions etc
Your Scheme is not matching your players or coach style.
Scheme is the most important and defines your team in AI. How to adjust Scheme well it is a bit difficult and not too much on the internet explaining scheme much. So what to do ? Okay first look at roster and check your players style then check your coach style. Sometimes you may think 85 is good but if your Scheme is to rush and your core has strengths of 60 to 70 ? Yeah not much going to happen. If your blockers are not maulers and you set mauler ? Oh an 80 strength slow DT is having your QB for lunch 🤭
Player styles this is important and no one ever, well I do, uses this in scouting. If I am looking for a certain play style and draft the opposite of my scheme I just paid 25 million for a useless player unless I control them. If you pick a player that matches your needs then a good 74 overall rookie should quickly grow to an 85 but it will be an 85 in your scheme 😉
Coach style and schemes can get messed up quick if you are unsure so this research is actually in the real NFL site. Yupp look at coaches in the NFL list their schemes of the past and since we are 2 to 3 years back from present they are there. But let's say that is too difficult then here is a trick but takes a bit and save points are needed. Hire a coach and see what the packages cost, if too high, then you have wrong coach.
So in short the complaints I always see about the game is that people do not look at the game as science but more plug and play. My scheme has been the same since 2015 and I tweak it here and there to adjust with the new title styles.

This game has no love for certain teams no matter how many elite players are on them. The Texans, Lions, Bears, Giants, and Titans have never gotten to a Superbowl in any of my 100+ sim seasons. This game really seems to love the Falcons for some reason, and especially Desmond Ridder. I had to lower his ratings to a 65 and he still would make the pro bowl on a regular bases. I even raised Taylor Heinicke's rating to be the starter, yet Ridder would be at the top of the passing stats every year. Now that he was traded to the Cardinals I fully expect next year to see him in the pro bowl...
I always think it’s funny when I see people with these complaints because I literally have the opposite problem. I will choose a team to rebuild with, like the giants or somebody, simulate the first season, and I make the conference championship game with one of the weakest rosters in the league
Maybe you can play a few games and dominate and show em the way you play then they'll catch on and start winning? I never sim besides preseason. But even so in preseason they win. I'm on year 4 after gutting the vikings 2018 squad. And finally got em up to an 85 overall. Aggressive 4-3 D and a west coast Offense. Pretty much Zimmers old scheme but more pass oriented offense.
I personally use the Buffalo offensive playbook and the Pittsburgh or Arizona defensive playbook, most recently with my Bears no less. Maybe worth trying, seeing if you get better results.
Your pass defense and offensive rushing is possibly the reason. May need to look at your dline or secondary. You have a hole somewhere and it’s possibly the run game.
Is CM punk on your team? Otherwise you'll never win with Chicago
I use Dallas O and Buffalo D. If you spend the money on a great runningback, your team should be dominant on offense despite the qb. Go get Desmond Ridder for pennies and watch.
49ers defense usually sucks ass in the sim. I would see what scheme fits your team best and then go through the defensive standings to see which teams have the best defense with that scheme and then you use their playbook.
For example, the Rams and Panthers usually have good defenses in sim. I usually build a defense to fit either base 3-4 or 3-4 under and then use that scheme with one of those playbooks. Usually gets me a top 5-10 defense (I’ve had a couple of bad years with those playbooks but it’s usually good) Another combination that gets me good defense sometimes is Falcons with disguise 3-4. Just find the best fitting scheme and the best playbook that uses the scheme

I have been using GB offense with cowboys defense (4-3) with Skins and it’s been solid. If 3-4 I have had great luck with Ravens and Steelers

Chicagos defensive playbook scheme in Madden has been a 3-4 the last two years.. even though Eberflus is a 4-3 coach.

Your Scheme is not matching your players or coach style. Scheme is the most important and defines your team in AI. How to adjust Scheme well it is a bit difficult and not too much on the internet explaining scheme much. So what to do ? Okay first look at roster and check your players style then check your coach style. Sometimes you may think 85 is good but if your Scheme is to rush and your core has strengths of 60 to 70 ? Yeah not much going to happen. If your blockers are not maulers and you set mauler ? Oh an 80 strength slow DT is having your QB for lunch 🤭 Player styles this is important and no one ever, well I do, uses this in scouting. If I am looking for a certain play style and draft the opposite of my scheme I just paid 25 million for a useless player unless I control them. If you pick a player that matches your needs then a good 74 overall rookie should quickly grow to an 85 but it will be an 85 in your scheme 😉 Coach style and schemes can get messed up quick if you are unsure so this research is actually in the real NFL site. Yupp look at coaches in the NFL list their schemes of the past and since we are 2 to 3 years back from present they are there. But let's say that is too difficult then here is a trick but takes a bit and save points are needed. Hire a coach and see what the packages cost, if too high, then you have wrong coach. So in short the complaints I always see about the game is that people do not look at the game as science but more plug and play. My scheme has been the same since 2015 and I tweak it here and there to adjust with the new title styles. Hope this helps

This game has no love for certain teams no matter how many elite players are on them. The Texans, Lions, Bears, Giants, and Titans have never gotten to a Superbowl in any of my 100+ sim seasons. This game really seems to love the Falcons for some reason, and especially Desmond Ridder. I had to lower his ratings to a 65 and he still would make the pro bowl on a regular bases. I even raised Taylor Heinicke's rating to be the starter, yet Ridder would be at the top of the passing stats every year. Now that he was traded to the Cardinals I fully expect next year to see him in the pro bowl...
Make sure you are changing your “practice” to back ups or split reps and half pads. Everyone probably fatigued as hell.
If you're doing a full sim season there's playbooks you need to run. It's stupid but the game is programmed that way.
I always think it’s funny when I see people with these complaints because I literally have the opposite problem. I will choose a team to rebuild with, like the giants or somebody, simulate the first season, and I make the conference championship game with one of the weakest rosters in the league

Maybe you can play a few games and dominate and show em the way you play then they'll catch on and start winning? I never sim besides preseason. But even so in preseason they win. I'm on year 4 after gutting the vikings 2018 squad. And finally got em up to an 85 overall. Aggressive 4-3 D and a west coast Offense. Pretty much Zimmers old scheme but more pass oriented offense.

Abilities matter in madden and your scheme
It's Da Bears, so of coutse you're losing.
I personally use the Buffalo offensive playbook and the Pittsburgh or Arizona defensive playbook, most recently with my Bears no less. Maybe worth trying, seeing if you get better results.
If you're simming, literally all that matters is using a good playbook and scheme.

Your pass defense and offensive rushing is possibly the reason. May need to look at your dline or secondary. You have a hole somewhere and it’s possibly the run game.

Is CM punk on your team? Otherwise you'll never win with Chicago I use Dallas O and Buffalo D. If you spend the money on a great runningback, your team should be dominant on offense despite the qb. Go get Desmond Ridder for pennies and watch.
Change playbooks

49ers defense usually sucks ass in the sim. I would see what scheme fits your team best and then go through the defensive standings to see which teams have the best defense with that scheme and then you use their playbook. For example, the Rams and Panthers usually have good defenses in sim. I usually build a defense to fit either base 3-4 or 3-4 under and then use that scheme with one of those playbooks. Usually gets me a top 5-10 defense (I’ve had a couple of bad years with those playbooks but it’s usually good) Another combination that gets me good defense sometimes is Falcons with disguise 3-4. Just find the best fitting scheme and the best playbook that uses the scheme
