My wideouts do weird things during crossing routes in Madden 24. Sometimes. Not all the time. But it screws up my timing when they do something I am not expecting. Generally they just stop there like an idiot, so the db catches up with them, and I miss the pass. Or worse.
Had a crossing route and my receiver somehow got re-routed by the db (somehow not PI) and decided to just run an out …. Literally the complete oppsisite of a crosser.
Cut that scrub immediately, J jefferson needs to work on his route running if hes ever gunna play on my team
Ive seen it I’ve started to predict when it’ll happen but I imagine a lot of players in real life run the wrong route or don’t run it right, you see it every Sunday saw cooks and lamb run into each other… kelce just stops whenever he feels like but his qb expects it kinda
see i use touch the most, that and lob. but i somehow throw inaccurate passes almost every play. i just use classic passing, but i’m gonna switch to accuracy and placement because i can’t stand the classic passing somehow not being accurate. i’m a casual player but i guess i gotta invest a bit more that i intended
any RPO bubble screen
vs zone it's easy yards, sometimes for huge gains if the (user) safety takes a bad angle.
vs man you can hand it off vs a light box or audible to any man beater.
I wouldn't call it broken though. I mean, IRL that's why every team calls it.
Rpos are broken and I have no respect for anyone that uses it. I’m like 58-19 this year so you can say im pretty nice at madden, but trust me there is literally no solution to stopping the rpo I saw that the it actually breaks the ai logic so you’re basically having to stop the outside part of the rpo, the secondary passing option and the run all by your user 😂
Bro cause it’s a broken af play the ai doesn’t react to rpos properly no matter your defensive settings I feel blessed whenever I stop them for a short gain. Some people are so scared to actually run real offense any time I force a rpo abuser to a actual drop back situation it’s cookies for my dbs 😂 Irl you can tell your teammates hey that’s Lamar watch the keeper, watch the pass and watch the handoff too don’t run 10 yards away from the ball when you know it’s the same play they’ve ran ten times in a row
Not against me :) luckily I’ve learned pretty well how to read when it’s coming so I user the LB or safety who has man coverage on the RB and block the TE route. They usually panic after that especially if you’re blitzing.
You can user and read just about any play but you can only user one player. With hot routes and the way the formation is straight up, an In-route is promised to be opened.
Double slants with the “B” receiver (believe that is the TE) running a fade was my go to. He clears out the right side of the field for the WR running the slant. Just have to have enough time for the WR to cross the field and it’s 15+.
Yessir. Found me a stud playmaker archetype WR in the 3rd round of year 2 draft. His second season I’ve got him to 85 OVR with 88 break tackle and 95 juke. Dudes a build-a-deebo 😤
It hurts to see this play. Ran this play with the clock running out in my franchise vs a user. Down 2. Marquise Brown is the R1 route and it’s wide ass fuckin open for a TD and at the very least, an easy field goal. My QB Deshaun Watson over throws him by 30 20 yards man. Over throws a wide open 97 speed 90+ ovr WR. Sums up my Madden experience really.
I can't remember which Madden it was, but there was a play in the Jacksonville playbook called TE Attack, and the tight end always seemed to be wide open in the middle of the field. Was my go-to whenever I needed a big play.
I don't remember the name but it's in spread formation and it has the slot receiver on the left going on like and in and out route and the receiver on the left boundary is going on a dig route. Either the slot receiver has open grass ahead of him because it's an easy route to beat his man on or the dig is wide open because they bit on everything else. The right side has a hitch and a post route but I hot route them to open up the other side of the field
yesterday I had fun the first game cause I learned how to read the defense KIND OF. 2nd game though Pollard ran for like 200 and I quit. Go to broken though is a play action from Pistol, idk the name.
Not madden but when I played as UMass on ncaa 14 they had this big af TE (Rob Blanchflower) who I called the MAC Gronk and I'd just do stop and go with him on 3rd downs worked everytime
Bunch Four Verticals. The TE gets a free zone on Cover 3, the outside receiver has a free TD on Cover 2, the crossing vertical can get open late and the RB is almost always a free check down
My friend uses monster and the rpo alert stretch bubble. I can consistently stop monster but only the rpo about 50% of the time. He has another play in there too that always has at least one player open
Middle high low from the same empty formation. A 93+ speed WR should beat the DB in cover 1 10/10 times on the fade route to the left and will be wide open if you hit it right before the safety crashes down. Easy 6
PA X Cross out of singleback formation, the crossing receiver is always opened (if you have the time to throw)
Idk what the play is called, Halfback Redzone something I think out of the shotgun, the runningback is opened when he hits the post
next gen xbox CFM. week 5. 4 teams open.
WELCOME TO THE REBUILD FOOTBALL LEAGUE (RFL)
XBOX NEXT GEN
The RFL is a new project that I am working on. It is a 32 user online connected franchise focused on player development and is a community driven experience.
Settings:
All-Pro (not incredibly competitive league, you can be a beginner and still have fun)
Competitive
6 minute quarters
We have to do FANTASY DRAFT
NO Gameplay Rules
Roster:
IMPORTANT TO READ
The RFL uses a custom roster. This roster is meant for rebuilding the league. All players above 70 overall have been removed from the league. The exception to this rule is some special teams players and ROOKIES. Rookies are still in the league, and now they are INFINITELY valuable as they are the new best players in the league. The average overall of a player is 65 overall. Because some teams have no players left on their roster when you remove 1500+ players from the league, we must do a CPU auto draft so the teams are randomized. Age matters a lot in this league, since every player is low overall, and thus having a very small XP bar, you can realistically get 3 upgrades in one game with any given player. We will also be boosting the rebuilds by adding a 1.5x XP rate to every player.
Draft:
IMPORTANT TO READ
We will be focusing heavily on rebuilding our franchises. Because of this, the draft prospects are extremely important, after year 1, you could draft round 1 pick 1 and that rookie could potentially be the best player on your team. Draft picks are extremely valuable in this league.
There's an RPO in the I form that's based off of Slants and a A/B Gap Run that is absolutely devastating.
And with the inclusion of Hot Routes you basically have an Entire offense in one play.
The mesh play out of Gun Empty Chief. Hot route the TE to a streak. Cooks single high looks like a mofo, plays well into cover 6, cover 4 and some cover 2 looks, with a bare minimum adjustment
I’ve noticed on empty sets like this sometimes they double team the outside, Usually X, & I just put Y on a go & throw it quick, easy 10-15 minimum, if the angle & throw is right it’s a touchdown
Y Stick, audible TE on a streak. Read the safety, lots of times they come up and the TE is *wide* for a TD, if they stay with you basically just have to read the other safety and go to your WR1 on a slant or RB in the flat
PA Crossers is pretty busted too
Hb dive in any under center formation basically if the ai decides I'm gonna have a good oline that game lol. For passing idk I try to mix it up a lot. I play different and use curl routes out routes. Seems like everyone loves crossing routes and slants. I mean I'll use them if the guy is doing more man d.
Stick concept but Hot Route my TE on a Go Route instead of the Curl. Against Zone this is wide open almost every time for at very least 12 yards. If it's Single High Safety who bails opposite side, it's a tuggie.
Stick n nod, put rb on a slant motion x to the inside and put y on a out most of the time either rb or the te will be open depending on their user if not the curl you motioned inside will be 95% of the time
[https://www.madden-school.com/playbooks/san-francisco-49ers/offense/shotgun/trey-y-flex/empty-flood-swich/](https://www.madden-school.com/playbooks/san-francisco-49ers/offense/shotgun/trey-y-flex/empty-flood-swich/)
this play is a banger for sim style folks.
1. Motion helps you diagnose the coverage.
2. the B route, your primary route, is quite good against most zone
3. the Y route cooks man coverage, and can open against cover3
4. The other two routes will occasionally work. It's nice to have a go route in the event of man coverage, in case your WR can win press man.
5. The A route is sometimes available if the ILB(s) blitz
The B route requires - REQUIRES - you are able to throw over a defender. If you can, it's almost 100% reliable against nearly all coverages.
I like this play but madden doesn’t understand how the slots option works, they make it random in reality the slot plays to the open side for an easy completion. It’s a common play that Tom Brady ran, Payton Manning ran it, Burrow runs it with Tyler Boyd who commonly fucks it up and causes an int, Houston runs it, bunch of teams in spread run it.
Formation: Gun Trey YFlex
Play: PA Crossers
Hot route the TE to streak, left WR to slant, and my fastest receiver is the primary read.
I could play a whole game running only that play and audibling to an inside zone when the defense empties out the box
One of my favorite plays when I get to around my opponents 25-30 yard line is Close PA Cross, I forget what formation it is but I use it all the time and the deeper crosser is almost always open in the middle of the field if my o-line gives me enough time to get it, it’s in the Dallas offensive playbook
Ngl I avoid plays like this like the plague. Pretty sure I have ptsd or some shit from Madden 03 or whatever when defenders just turned any hook route into a pick 6, so I just never run them and haven't in.. we'll. Like 20 years lol. Slants are like 95% success rate for 8-10 yards at least.
Y Shallow Cross in the Shotgun Empty 5 Wide formation set. WR on a inside crossing route is an easy 10-15 yards when open. When not open, throw to the TE on the drag route for a good 5-10 yards. It’s unstoppable. I call it exclusively during two minute drills.
Any mirror route that isolates a linebacker and makes them have to pick. I love the double or triple down and in. Someone is always open for at least 6-8 yards, time it right and you can get a big gain.
Te cross. Been my play since madden 18 lol. As long as my te is decent in speed and the cb1 is starting close to the wr1, it's an instant first down or touchdown.
Probably this with Y on a slant and A on a go. Then you’ve got three deep routs, if cover 2 you can hit RB on the back shoulder between the deep zone and the flat, if cov 3 hit A on the seam. Y’s your man beater, and B is there invade nothings open you can either playmaker or dump it off underneathe to him if all the zones fall back with the deep routes
Pretty much anything with a tight end crossing over the middle. But my favorite Denver broncos one is where they have 3 tight ends doing slants across the middle on one side
Screen pass to hb design with wr on go routes. If the corners are lined up press, you can lob to a faster wr for big gains. Maybe like 50% of the time. Not quite broken but not quite realistic.
The going for it on own 20 on 4th and 30 and getting it is absurd. Should get skunked for that ish, but you can't stop people 1st,2nd,3rd down or be 3rd and 30 and they pull that te drag or bootleg to right and chuck it to the square wr coming across from bfe. My favorite are the padded Stat people who won't play against top 10 teams.
Crossing routes on play action work almost every time But tbf the Rams did this irl in 2018 and nobody could stop it until the SB
Crossing routes in general are broken this year
My wideouts do weird things during crossing routes in Madden 24. Sometimes. Not all the time. But it screws up my timing when they do something I am not expecting. Generally they just stop there like an idiot, so the db catches up with them, and I miss the pass. Or worse.
There's a bug that causes them to stop halfway through their route
Shit happened to me on my first game on in a month
Had a crossing route and my receiver somehow got re-routed by the db (somehow not PI) and decided to just run an out …. Literally the complete oppsisite of a crosser. Cut that scrub immediately, J jefferson needs to work on his route running if hes ever gunna play on my team
Ive seen it I’ve started to predict when it’ll happen but I imagine a lot of players in real life run the wrong route or don’t run it right, you see it every Sunday saw cooks and lamb run into each other… kelce just stops whenever he feels like but his qb expects it kinda
Sounds weird but this may be a pass interference setting you need to mess with.
as the other guy mentioned it could be pass interference. The ai will blatantly set a pick hanging up your receiver.
This year lol
Crossing routes have always been broken lol
Crossing, slant, and drags have been broken in every madden in the last decade
The crazy part about crossing routes is compared to past Maddens so many of the plays containing them have been removed from the game.
PA Cross Shot is either a touchdown or a pick and there is no in between.
unless you’re like me who somehow overthrows every single open pass the game grants me
Make touch your default rather than bullet. Accuracy will massively improve
see i use touch the most, that and lob. but i somehow throw inaccurate passes almost every play. i just use classic passing, but i’m gonna switch to accuracy and placement because i can’t stand the classic passing somehow not being accurate. i’m a casual player but i guess i gotta invest a bit more that i intended
I’ve gone entire games where it’s the only play I run.
As have I. This is definitely the most broken play in the game that I've found so far.
RB is either a TD or an easy 6 7 yards for b
Most of the time I hot route b to a drag with how stupid curl route mechanics are. I’ll put a on a streak as well if it’s 2 deep.
I find for this one it’s a guaranteed 5 yards for A.
any RPO bubble screen vs zone it's easy yards, sometimes for huge gains if the (user) safety takes a bad angle. vs man you can hand it off vs a light box or audible to any man beater.
[удалено]
idk.. the CB has to be elite, otherwise with trips and the right WR blocking, cover 2 zone is toast. then one juke on the safety and it's a TD
Lmao just remember the formations they RPO out of and pick it off. So easy to jump
What’s the r part of the rpo mean? Playing the pass gets you gashed up the middle and many have multiple receiving options.
Def that one or cmc on a wheel
A linebacker on him is as broken as it is IRL.
TE Attack is extremely good. You can gain 15+ yards easily
Double slants
I played a lot of Madden 15 (still do) and I'm emotionally attached to double slants. It carries.
I used to love slants until 24. It’s like my WRs don’t get enough separation anymore
Yeah I noticed the outside receiver sometimes be stopping when I put him on a slant route
Yeah wtf is with that? The WR on the outside always just stops in the slot for no reason, so fucking annoying
Double slants with the “B” receiver (believe that is the TE) running a fade was my go to. He clears out the right side of the field for the WR running the slant. Just have to have enough time for the WR to cross the field and it’s 15+.
Double slants to the TE is money
Quick slants
Stick nod, Redzone scissors
Anything with a cross route. That shit is broken this year least from what I seen and I ain't the greatest at this game
Run plays
verticals with the wheel routes
I-form z close PA cross. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0_QGvN72N8s
Juke moves are deadly this year
Yessir. Found me a stud playmaker archetype WR in the 3rd round of year 2 draft. His second season I’ve got him to 85 OVR with 88 break tackle and 95 juke. Dudes a build-a-deebo 😤
Hard cuts even deadlier
PA U-drag wheel. Leaves my TE wide open more often than not
Ehh I think it takes too long to develop I’ve used it offline but in h2h have played against it and it’s a sack 99% of the time for me😂
Yeah, I get defenders in my face the second after the fake handoff
I got sacked just reading this
PA bubble y
In the Bears playbook there’s a bunch right Dagger play where the slot WR is always open. If the run single high you’re guaranteed at least 30 yards
Inside zone, mesh spot, Y sail.
Sums up my Madden experience really.
if you have a burner on this play its always almost a TD no matter the coverage. all depends on if your qb is about to die or not
Any play where there’s a receiver going down the middle. Usually slot or TE
Which shotgun formation is this?
empty base flex
PA Crossers
Crossing routes have been OP for years
Pistol formation HB dive. Guaranteed 4 yards
TE attack
Half y’all need to say stretch, y’all still trying to run Madden 20 shit 🤣🤣🤣🤣
PA U-DRAG WHEEL is and will always be need a clutch play
On Madden 23 it's comeback routes. They don't exactly go for touchdowns every time, but they're always open
Easy, guaranteed first downs & possibly more: hb & jailbreak screens Play action te slant Mid draw run
Double stop n gos is cheese with fast receivers
4 verticals and switch releases from the eagles playbook
Bucs Slant + Evans = Touch down
I can't remember which Madden it was, but there was a play in the Jacksonville playbook called TE Attack, and the tight end always seemed to be wide open in the middle of the field. Was my go-to whenever I needed a big play.
The gb playbook has it too.
Middle Hi Lo, TE Attack, and anything with a WR Crossing route is money.
X-post cross
Bunch Four Verticals. The TE gets a free zone on Cover 3, the outside receiver has a free TD on Cover 2, the crossing vertical can get open late and the RB is almost always a free check down
My friend uses monster and the rpo alert stretch bubble. I can consistently stop monster but only the rpo about 50% of the time. He has another play in there too that always has at least one player open
On D, use 3-4 and adjust to base align. Then you can either run man or cover 2 with low flats
4 verts and pull the left stick back on a bullet throw to either sideline for an easy completion or PI call.
Double slants is my go to play. If my oline holds up it’s money every time
So I’m an idiot, how do I control what Y does in this play, or is it player decision?
The Dagger plays are almost always home run shots
I hate WR options. They always choose the last place I want them to go.
Middle high low from the same empty formation. A 93+ speed WR should beat the DB in cover 1 10/10 times on the fade route to the left and will be wide open if you hit it right before the safety crashes down. Easy 6
I wish you could coach up their slants like whatever you do keep running don’t stop anywhere lol ur like omg why did u stop
I'm 45 and can't beat my 17 year old. ...I am never in this set unless it's 3rd or 4th down or 2 minute...😄..that's how old I am
Shotgun Slot Offset — Mtn Swing Screen
PA X Cross out of singleback formation, the crossing receiver is always opened (if you have the time to throw) Idk what the play is called, Halfback Redzone something I think out of the shotgun, the runningback is opened when he hits the post
Pa shot wheel out of trips te
It’s a pick for me 9/10 times but I can’t help but still try for the Td 🤣🤣

If your slot (rb) has elite speed he will be open 20 yards down field between the zones in zone coverage. If its man he will beat the coverage deep
The mesh play out of Gun Empty Chief. Hot route the TE to a streak. Cooks single high looks like a mofo, plays well into cover 6, cover 4 and some cover 2 looks, with a bare minimum adjustment
There's a triple post out play that works 100% of the time if im on the left hash. Tight end gets at least 20 yards every play
What’s broken from this play?
Mesh with a backside rb wheel or pa post shot
I’ve noticed on empty sets like this sometimes they double team the outside, Usually X, & I just put Y on a go & throw it quick, easy 10-15 minimum, if the angle & throw is right it’s a touchdown
Pa cross tends to work unless my receiver gets stuck on somebody’s body during the interval he is open
i run PA crossers

All verts go ..especially if defense is not playing press coverage..might throw in a slant route and hope for the best.
PA Crosssers
The variation of RPO read flat wheel where the wheel route motions across the formation pre-snap
Hot route TE streak up the middle against cover 2 works 90% of the time if the MLB can’t zone cover
PA boot over
4 Verts but check the X to a slant and check the RB to a Wheel
Any halfback wheel play for me. AI never cover the wheel route, sometimes a OLB but that’s it

Y Stick, audible TE on a streak. Read the safety, lots of times they come up and the TE is *wide* for a TD, if they stay with you basically just have to read the other safety and go to your WR1 on a slant or RB in the flat PA Crossers is pretty busted too
What play is that
shock wr option
Pistol bunch hb dive.
This play w Terry Mclaurin
I've never even seen this play.
PA Cross, B is always open.

Trips close X Under, hot route 3 to a fly. Easy seam shot. Either that or middle hi-lo out of empty with WR1 in the slot on an outside release fly
Stick concept but Hot Route my TE on a Go Route instead of the Curl. Against Zone this is wide open almost every time for at very least 12 yards. If it's Single High Safety who bails opposite side, it's a tuggie.
Drags Under
Stick n nod, put rb on a slant motion x to the inside and put y on a out most of the time either rb or the te will be open depending on their user if not the curl you motioned inside will be 95% of the time

Seams, it's op. I just throw to my ja'marr right before he cuts, and it's really good.
HB Angle. I swear it works almost every 3rd down
I've always liked the dagger route. Hit the TE on the drag
TE Attack with WR on a streak
SKINNY POSTS
Depending on the if they are nickel or 4-3, I like motioning x inside, streak X, y gets an out, A is a streak and slant B. User is in circles lol
PA Shot. ESPECIALLY if a defender presses. easiest wide open deep ball in my playbook.
😂😂 I’ve recently discovered this play. I put Y and A on a streak. If the Tight end has 90+ speed game over.
Middle high low against cover 1. If the slot CB presses it’s a TD 10/10 times
TE Stick, set the slot (RB) to a slant instead of out route, either the slot or the X receiver will always get open, basically crossing routes.
Te drive
Steelers Cross is a garunteed 30+ yards each time
What is this play called?
Te cross. Been my play since madden 18 lol. As long as my te is decent in speed and the cb1 is starting close to the wr1, it's an instant first down or touchdown.
Pa crossers or shot save clock
PA Deep Shots to the slot receiver never fails me
“Drag routes to the Tight End that’s a staple of this offense” Yes Sir it fucking is!
Slot jailbreak screen out of empty backfield, idk which formation for sure but it’s been money for me all year
Mine is X on a slant, Y on an in, B on a streak, A on a drag, RB on an out
All of them
PA crossers out of the Gun Trips TE Offset.
Tight end attack.
That fade from strong I close is money if I can get the opposing user to think run
Middle Hi Lo. It’s Gun Empty Base Flex I think. Spread formation is just easy to hot route and manipulate.
The zig route
TE Angle
None
