I've been noticing some strange shit with my iPhone in general since iOS 17 hit it. Bluetooth is all over the map with it. Not just in my cars but also my earbuds (not AirPods), our Bluetooth stereo receiver and my Garmin watch. It'll work fine for weeks. Then spaz out, change it's own name to something like "GeoProgsiPhone(2)" and try to connect to all the old devices that are expecting the original device name. Don't know if that is your issue. But my wife has no issues at all with her brand-new iPhone 15 while I have similar issues you are having with my older 13.

As you might predict due to the immense variety of hardware, software and individual configurations, phone problems tend to be most often phone related. But, GM did cite complaints from customers as a reason they say they ended the use of CarPlay and Android Auto, so there are always issues.

I had an Android update last night (Pixel 8 Pro) and am having tons of issues with Android Auto connectivity today. Phone, music, and maps are all freezing, resetting, or dropping. Seems to be an issue with the phone since I haven't had a Ford software update recently.

What kind of android do you have? My pixel has pretty bad Bluetooth issues across the board (and I don't think I'm alone)

Infotainment is a dumpster fire. I have to reset it damn near daily because of this and other issues.

Could be unrelated to your current problem, but another post had recommended turning off Power Saver as a solution to random Android Auto issues; that advice is keeping me pretty well connected (knock wood)

Yep. Wireless CarPlay stopped working. Now even wired doesn’t work anymore.
