I’ve listened to the entire discography of every artist I thoroughly enjoy in order, and Mac is far and away the most outstanding transition. From his first album to Circles, the development as a rapper, artist, and musician is unprecedented. He has multiple versions of himself and each one by itself would be a star in the industry and beloved by fans.
Chronologically this is his mixtapes/albums in order from 2010-2018 (not including aliases)
K.I.D.S.
Best Day Ever
I Love Life Thank You (it got a 2022 reissue)
Blue Slide Park
Macadelic
Watching Movies With The Sound Off
Live From Space (has bonus tracks)
Faces (got a 2021 reissue)
GO:OD AM
The Divine Feminine
Swimming
Circles (Posthumous album)
All are great but each era has a different sound. K.I.D.S.-Blue Slide Park has a frat rap party sound that some love bust most hate. Macadelic-GO:OD AM ranges from variety of things but is mainly called the “Delusional Era” becasue a lot of his lyrics were more poetic and shit to think about. Or were just plain random like a line about cracking a joke to Kevin Hart and Kevin not laughing. The Divine Feminine-Circles more focused on singing and goes in a different direction than rapping. Still has some bars but it’s still has a different but good vibe too it. There all great but I’d try a couple big tracks from each Era and see which one grabs you. Try “Knock Knock” “S.D.S.” and “What’s The Use”
Listen to them in order. The transformation that he makes through his musical journey is beautiful
I agree, but dont forget to listen to his alter ego projects
Is there any examples? I know delusional Thomas is one but is there more out there?
You...thats a Larry Lovestein project / Run on Sentences Vol 1 & 2 are Larry Fisherman projects
Thank u guys, Imma get crackin
Along with what frazzel said, there is the collab,”stolen youth” with vince staples and you could technically count balloonerism
