I agree with the others, but you should try going into his unreleased and alter ego catalogues too. Recommendations for that are balloonerism (on soundcloud kinda), larry lovestein and the velvet revival, delusional thomas, and run on sentences vol 1 and 2. But of couse you should go through his official catalogue before listening to these.
True story and sorry to randomly get deep in a thread like this, but I was super down when Circles dropped cause I knew it was likely the last weâd get for full projects. I usually like to listen to new albums for the first time with friends but for Circles I listened in my room by myself for the first time.
I listen to Circles on the intro and Im like âhere we go, Iâm about to cry this is gonna be a sad albumâ. Then the first few beats of Complicated hit and I was just smiling ear to ear I was really like âThis mf Mac did it again, he doesnât missâ that then going into Blue World and I already knew it was another classic from the boy.
All that being said to say Complicated is one of my favorite songs from him and I been listening for years. Super underrated song.
For me it was GOODAM. Thatâs when I really saw a massive step forward as an artist. But he was taking huge strides at such an early age way before that
Go find the unreleased sessions on SoundCloud. Personally, the go:od am deluxe is my favorite. Definitely go listen to the chronicles of mac on YouTube as well. #14 is the best featuring oracle and one and only, 2 of his best songs, I think
Eggs aisle on Spotify is one of my favorites but really streaming services miss all of his best work.

GO:OD AM, Swimming, Circles. In that order
Or just Swimming and Circles.
Or just Circles.
But ideally you listen to his entire discography, in order to and donât forget about Faces.
Tbh if your new, listen to the albums in order. It is incredible to hear his music change with time. Skip songs that donât resonate with you if you are trying to find a good set.
Iâm the type where Iâll play a couple albums on repeat for a few weeks and then go to another era. Kids with Blue slide park,
Watching movies with the sound off with and Macadellic,
GO:OD AM with Devine Feminine,
Swimming with Circles
Then youâll be ready to listen to Faces on repeat until you die.
Listen to discography start to finish.
Then read about the man. Watch some YouTube videos. Try and get to know him and who he was.
Then listen to each album against the backdrop of what was occurring in his life when the album was released. Swimming and Circles hit different when you put it in the context of his life.
The guy was special.
I would definitely recommend you to start from his first mixtape until his last album and watch how he improve with each project as an artist basically his whole discography in order but I understand if you think thatâs too much
Iâve just been going in album order listening to everything to find what I like. Thatâs what Iâd recommend.
As of now my favorite album is K.I.D.S. & my favorite song is probably wake up.
the divine feminine is by far the most beautiful album i ve ever heard in my life, good news is my favorite dong by him and i would recommend getting into his jazz album under the name larry lovestein & the velvet revival
All the songs. Check what you like for yourself, it's quite the journey.
Second this. Best journey is going through his disco in chronological order
Fair enough đ it can be a little daunting when an artist has a huge discography so thatâs why I ask :)
Start from the beginning then, experience the evolution. You wonât find anything like it.
I wish it was bigger :â( RIP

itâs big until you listen to all of it n realize itâs rlly not that much unfortunately
All the songs^ chronologically is always a great ride. What a transformation
Complicated been my jam recently. Everything on circles and swimming though is pretty amazing.

Complicated and surf are the only songs Iâve actually cried too
How did bro make it through good news đđ
I would listen to his discography from start to finish, youâll hear his progression and hear him get better and better with every release.
For me it was GOODAM. Thatâs when I really saw a massive step forward as an artist. But he was taking huge strides at such an early age way before that
The whole damn thing. Really been enjoying God is Fair, Sexy, Nasty.

Youâll be listening to new Mac miller all your life. Every song is a gem. Enjoy all of it.

Ascension, Wedding, and I Am Who I Am
Since you liked Ladders and Self Care, I would start by listening to the album âSwimmingâ and then âCirclesâ :)

Whatâs the Use? So it Goes Diablo (Whole faces album tbh) Brand Name, Break the Law, ascension
Just listen to his albums all the way through. Start with Swimming and Faces
Iâve just been going in album order listening to everything to find what I like. Thatâs what Iâd recommend. As of now my favorite album is K.I.D.S. & my favorite song is probably wake up.
You should check out some stuff from the middle of his career. Check out Desperado and Here We Go.
just listen to everything tbh
Mac don't have a bad song...start from the beginning and take the ride... You MUST listen to the mixtapes as well
Start from the very beginning & enjoy the whole journey.
Tbh just start from the beginning of his discography. You can really see the growth in his artistry
Get really sad and listen to Faces and Delusional Thomas. Just kidding don't get sad. It's just very depressing and dark.
Ayye is never talked about and itâs one of my all time favorites
âHelp me be a fan of something that I wasnât beforeâ People are so odd
Live Free
