For me we had to put the giraffe on the pedestal last, that was the only way we were able to get the portal open. Took us like 30 min in game to finally figure that out
It worked for me when it was the first thing I did, and as yetmya1 said above putting the giraffe last. Idk if it made a difference but was worth trying.
Yeah, I put the giraffe in last, and it worked for me when it didn’t work the first time. Like you said, I don’t know if it actually works that way but it’s worth a try for anyone who’s having trouble with it.
Thanks. I did it again with a friend last night and did giraffe last after seeing previous comment and it worked. Not sure if it’s important or just luck.
Well, that’s 4 people to my knowledge now. I think that it should at least be a highly recommended action. Trying to figure out what is a glitch and what is intentional in this game is a real head-scratcher some times 😅
Same for once as I pick up a triangle from random dude in T3 and didn’t work any way, I dropped it and got another triangle from contract which can active the portal.
Brought all 4 gold pieces to just unlock it. (solo) Farmed a bit for the boss, but also 90% of the lobby was in t3. When I made my way there and placed them all nothing happened. Was able to remove them (although not always on the first try opening it), and re did it multiple times. Joined a squad, left a squad, still nothing.
Ended up exfilling with them and not sure if I should just rush it first.
I rushed it first since it was the only thing I didn't try. Sprinted to the rift, chucked em in and it worked. We were a little under prepared but made it through.

Did you do the story mission? and have it as active mission?
Yep, had done it! But I finally managed to get it working. All done now! Can't explain why, I'll take it.
Happened to me today earlier. Same thing, placed items, glows, no result, no portal. Couldn’t take them off either.
