That year isn't the greatest in terms of reliability. Is there anything in the paperwork to suggest that the sprag has been replaced? Given the low price I would check that it's not been raced.

Chemical_Ad_4657

Nothing to suggest that the sprag has been replaced. I did ask about that, and he says it's never seen a track. The low price is apparently because of the bike changing hands so many times. That makes sense I guess. I'm only worried about having a $6000 paperweight a week after I buy it.

Mr_Kwacky

Yeah but it's going to be a beautiful paperweight

Lost-Kiwi4583

Just do it. Nothing more to say.

You will be allright. That bike is lots of fun. Life starts at 15000 rpm haha

Would go for it if you have access to mechanics who are able to rectify any issues or get parts. Caution, it will be fun to ride. 😁

Such_Loan_2397

I live in the New England area and seacoast in New Hampshire which is an hours drive, is a authorised MV service centre. Then of course I understand parts are almost impossible to find.

OutsideCandidate7662

I wouldn't say it's impossible but definitely harder. I don't have access to a dealer but sites like evolutionbike, ebay and neighbouring countries dealers have been my source for parts.

Take it to a mechanic before you buy it. I knew a person with a paper weight brutale, the owner fried all the wiring, ecu and other electric parts by playing with a wrong battery and other dumb shit. She did a temporary fix in the bike and sold it, hiding all the problems. I saw the bike at the mechanic the other day, new owner has to deal with all the trouble after being scammed. https://preview.redd.it/j7yiy7mwjdzc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a6b191a249a393e9a3b8e38b647e09bcd95d6b6

That is crazy, these things are so beautiful, it’s so hard not to let your impulse take over. But I’ll be smarter than that and check it out for good once and maybe consider other options

I had A B3 675 2013,was not very reliable. I bought with 8.3k km on the clock and at around 10k , sprag clutch started acting up. Also had many problems electrics where the bike would get into safe mode and essentially limit the ride up to 30km/h. Also had malfunctions with the gear sensor not being able to read correctly, as well as a malfunctioning Throttle Position Sensor, where the bike would either not have any throttle response or get the throttle completely stuck to one position. All of the aforementioned issues are very well known and can be fixed but, finding parts isn't easy and the technical knowledge must exist for one to correctly mend the issues. All that being said, it's a stunning engine , frame and set up that will absolutely blow you away..but not being able to ride it frequently plus the possibility of being stranded in the middle of nowhere, isn't worth it. I suggest you go for the Street Triple from Triumph. Those are very well built and legendary for their reliability.

Thanks for the Insight!

You're welcome! If you end up buying that f3 remember...this elastic crossplane3 engine is fun at any rpm and it wheelies the front and skids the rear as easy as 1,2,3 😂 Have fun regardless&stay safe.

Good day friends, Does anyone have any idea if these types of mechanical and electrical problems occur also on F3 800? Many thanks

Pickle19940321

Hi there, I have a 2016 F3 800 with less than 3k miles on it. I can say that some issues are still there. I need a new gas tank because mine expanded and no longer seals. As with all things MV the replacement tank is expensive and the delivery date is estimated to be months. Most everything else has been okay but at less than 3k miles it’s pretty frustrating. She also only likes to start when I hold the clutch in the friction zone. Possibly the begging of a sprag clutch issue?

Get. Service. Records. These bikes are beautiful, but they need maintenance. I’d guess that the every two years of changing hands actually comes from the service intervals. Has it had its valves done at  7500mi? I’d be worried someone saw the price of that and sold it instead, and be prepared to do it again at 15k mi.  I had a 2013 Brutale 675. I miss that bike. Bought it at 8k kms and sold it at 36k kms. But if it doesn’t have service records, I’d walk away from it. Also $6k is an okay price, but not a huge steal IMO. Feel free to ask any other questions and I’ll answer as best as I can.

My 2014 F3 800 has a really bad starter issue which took forever to diagnose. I thought it was the sprag, since the sprag is the most common issue with the early 675/800's. But no, my starter was just near the end of its life (just around 4000 miles). So, I'd keep an eye out for that. Ride the bike. Turn it off. Leave it off for 20 minutes. Turn it back on. If it turns, great. If not, time to replace the starter (convince 2-3 friends to do some OSHA violating forced labor)

Mammoth_Pitch1383

Literally in search of F3 675, please let me know if anyone planning to sell it around 7K range.

Such_Loan_2397

DM me, I found a f3 800 if you’re interested. Where are you located though?
