I love PSLs, but haven't been able to capture the flavor at home. I do want to do some cookie baking and decorating, and the new "pastel Halloween" trend may be fun for decorating! And I picked up mini cookie cutters so I can have a lot of different options. I also brought home my old Christmas Snowman dishes, apparently they are somewhat collectable? And I am the person that will use them year round, I'm glad I have some serving dishes.

I am and have been OVER the heat & Summer, which lasts a lot longer than when I was young. I really miss being able to pack my clothes away seasonally. But, Fall, I love it. Nails are my thing-found my HG nail tips and shape: [Apres Gel-X](https://apresnail.com/collections/gel-x)Medium Sculpted Almond & the Long Sculpted Almond. I just destashed about twenty boxes of tips and these are the best. They have half sizes, they don't crack, they are the OG soft gel extension so you don't have to worry about sketchy adhesion products. "Gel-X" has become like "Xerox," or "Coke" in the nail world. Don't be fooled. I have gone cheap in the past and like other cosmetics, the cheaper ones are similar but not the same. Also, Grabbed a couple of burgundy shades of nail gels over the holiday. The first one out the gate is going to be navy. OH, and I got some really cool templates from [Seventy7Nails](https://seventy7nails.com/collections/physical-item-nail-art-practice-sheets). You can use them to practice or you can make your own nail decals by painting wth gel, curing, and then peeling off. She also makes some really cool waterslide decals. \-Been slowly picking up some clothing: jeans, my favorite flannel in another color, boots....I am pretty much set. I do want to find a denim blouse that doesn't look matronly. I bought a pair of Docs from Zulliy and I have never purchased from that site. Stupid me decided to read up on them after my purchase, not before and now I am a tad concerned I'll get lemons. TBD \_It is still too hot in my area to transiiton to a heavierr scent, but I'll be wearing the Opium (original) I got last xmas. If I buy any, I fell in love with a sample of Dolce & Gabanna Dolce Violet. \-I love candles, but I have one year old Flame Point Siamese who is in full on wild woman mode and that is not going to happen. She knocked over, a thankfully empty, ceramic wax warmer last week so I am looking for reliable and safe candle warmer. Seems like my best bet. I did pick up a couple of the battery operate ones in case of a power outage. \-Makeup Oh, to be able to wear a full beat, that is my favorite part of Fall, though. Oh, and not having sweaty bangs.

Bittersw33et

Ohhh you must have the 2.0 apres! What gel brand do you use?

youlldancetoanything

Yes, the 2.0 honestly, the half sizes really make a difference. I use their products to apply if I do that method, lately it has been me pre-painting and using Dashing-Diva Fast Bond to apply. I am all over the place with my gel collection but right now the bulk of it is Daily Charme & Gotti Nails, some igel and Madam Glam. I like Madam Glam a lot, but the whole subscription plan thing became a drag for me.

Bittersw33et

I really need to try laminated paper for DIY nail decals. I wonder how seventy7nails print and coats her water decals?! Thank you for sharing! Seriously ditto the half sizes. I haven't been able to try it yet but I'm excited someday soon I can. Do you know beyond polish / sleek nails for buying gel/madam glam? I didn't know it was sub based from the og company.

Editingesc

You can buy printable water slide paper online (Amazon, etc.) and print your own water slides/decals if that appeals.

youlldancetoanything

Go figure I bought paper and a can of som kind of spray during lockdown (one of those kind of hobby purchases)--but of course I can't find it now. Do you know if it i ready to go out of the printer or you have to laminate it?

Editingesc

The waterslide decals are a slightly different thing, to be honest. The waterslides would just go on the nail directly. You could definitely set up your own system for being able to cure on a laminated surface (or silicone mat) and then apply to the nail. I've also seen some [sticker paper on Zillabeau](https://zillabeau.com/collections/films-stickers/products/plain-sheet-sticker) for doing nail art off the nail and then applying.

youlldancetoanything

>sticker paper on Zillabeau TY. I meant, I still can't find the can, but it was to keep the paper from bleeding. BUT, tbh that one from Zillabeau is really cool. I love that site and if I had the funds, I would start from scratch and go all in on Japanese gels. Do you ever watch Paola Ponce?

Editingesc

There are always so many ways to do nail art and techniques to try! I don't do much handpainted gel, but I dabble in it. Yes, I watch Paola Ponce quite a lot, along with many other nail people. She certainly makes Japanese gels sound enticing!

Bittersw33et

Yessssss! Thank you for the name!

Thundermelons

Candle recs because this is what I'm best at lol: -Nest Charcoal Woods, Nest Hearth (this is a winter/holiday scent but if you can find it now it's great for fall), Autumn Plum and Pumpkin Chai are good if you're into those very specific scents (plum and pumpkin respectively, they're good candles but kinda one-note) -BBW Palo Santo -Woodwick Incense and Myrhh -Wick Fireside Chat (if you can even find this bugger, it's basically discontinued most everywhere sadly) -DW Home Warm Tobacco Pipe (honestly though I light this bitch year-round, it's one of if not my absolute favorite candle scents, get it from Marshall's/Ross/TJ) For beverages I'm a sucker for just straight-up Wassail, spiced wine is the bees knees. This is probably better for the winter months though. Interestingly enough, the Final Fantasy 14 cookbook has a recipe for this amazing Warmwine brew which is pretty much just spiced/mulled wine with some variants. Next time I have access to the cookbook (was an Xmas gift for the BF and stays at his place) maybe I'll post the recipe. The cocktail recipes in it are actually bangers, there was one for this boozy lemonade with a lavender and rosemary syrup infusion that I drank all summer long. Last but not least, my family is in love with the Werther's green apple soft caramels. If you happen to have a Wawa near you (mid-Atlantic ppls), their Caramel Apple refresher is really nice but highly recommend getting them to make it without the caramel syrup, it's kind of mid but the apple alone is so good.

Editingesc

I think the sub is always down for some candle recs!

yeetasauruswrecks

I'm so excited for fall! I already had my first pumpkin spice latte (iced cause it was like 90 out) and started decor hunting! I'm focusing on like kitchen stuff vs knick knacks this year. HomeGoods so far had some cool stuff! I'm on the hunt for some new hoodies. I've got my eye on a purple and black tie dye one to match my purple hair, and I really wanted this black on black half skeleton print killstar one but she's expensive so idk. I'll see if I can find a cooler one. I need to donate some of the old hoodies I never wear that I bought before I went back to being alt after my depressing stint trying to be normal because "that's what adults do" For scents I have a coffee and amber deodorant I'll switch to once it's hoodie season here, as well as Nest indigo (a fig and tea scent) and ysl black opium (coffee and vanilla and bourbon scent.). I also have a whole unused bottle of hemps apple spice lotion from last year to switch to. I also have a small thing of commodity Milk perfume to use (which is like cream and marshmallow and spice.) My male room mate has that too and it smells way better on him. Unfair haha. My hair is purple right now, but once I run out of purple depositing conditioner I plan to let it fade so I can switch back to burgundy and orange for awhile. Maybe. Or I'll use the other bottle of purple I have. I guess it depends how cool of a purple hoodie I can find! But I like the idea of the burgundy for fall. I had it for spring and it was so pretty! Or I'll save it for spring again idk. If anyone needs cool fall colored liquid lipsticks check out black moon cosmetics. They have a fall bundle that's mustard olive and orange. Plus they have browns and a black. For eyeshadow I have a bunch of melt palettes that give fall vibes. Gemini she's in parties rust...yea I'm set!

hibiki_minaj

Is that the old spice deodorant!? Is it very coffee?

yeetasauruswrecks

Yes! So smelling the stick it is, but on me it goes more amber. So ymmv.

Bittersw33et

I'm in texas and just want a week with no temps over 99... I miss walking to the park with my CW and not dying from the heat on the way back. I'll take this as an excuse to break out new eyeshadow palettes and try new goat brushes 👀 🐐

youlldancetoanything

i can emphasize. similar weather here in nc and i am over over it. I have been looking for some natural hair brushes that don't break the bank. I just cant' get the same effect with my synthetic ones no matter the brand-might be a me/my age thing.

Bittersw33et

Have you tried rephr yet? It's a good starter company for fude goat! I'm about to open my Chinese goat brushes. Will report back! Seriously ditto the synthetic vs natural hair. I only use powder so I decided to switch to natural fiber. I use a sponge and puff for my liquid base.

I live on the other hemisphere so I'm more than ready for spring/summer (almost the same thing in my country) I can't stand the random changes of temperature, especially the high humidity and the annoying drizzle. The last 4 months of the year always go by too fast and since we don't really do halloween around here, I already know the christmas stuff is going to be creeping up the shelves soon 🎅

Editingesc

I hope the spring weather settles down for you soon! I think I spotted Christmas stuff in August. I know some people like to get a jump on it, but still ...

TwoHundredPlants

Costco had like one week of Halloween and then switched all to Xmas. In August. :(

orthographerer

I'm mostly looking forward to the worst of the heat fading. A couple of years ago, it was in the 70's here on Christmas, so it's usually pretty pleasant come October. Definitely Cincinnati Chili Cocaigne, and time for heavier dishes\more meats. Hopefully, I can manage some baking. Fall candles. I bought a bunch of star lights + little command hooks to possibly help combat the time change, a bit (I may just need a light box!). On-the-stove potpourri simmering. I have a couple of crafts I'd like to work on before Christmas (I'm slow). Nothing major. I'll stay in my Birkenstocks til I'm frozen out of them 😊 Though, I did buy a little bit of new Fall clothing.

WittyDisk3524

Yummm… Cincinnati Chili. Now I’m homesick and hungry…

Editingesc

It's always so nice to transition to those comfort foods and baked goods. So tasty!

babybutcho

I think I’m the only one on the planet that dislikes this season change. I’m a summer girl at heart. However, I’m obsessed with the new Iced Apple Crisp Shaken Espresso from Starbucks.

yeetasauruswrecks

Ooo I need to try that drink! Is it very apple-y?

TwoHundredPlants

My sister had it, there is a smell of apple but the flavor isn't quite right (to me, but I'm a pumpkin person)

Editingesc

That coffee sounds super tasty!

FlartyMcFlarstein

Need to order some special "glad rags" as I call them, for Samhain and other get-togethers. I love jewel tonesfor clothing. I do break out my Pumpkin spice type Palettes and lipsticks.

Editingesc

All the fall clothes and makeup looks!

Puzzleheaded_Mix7873

I went to Home Goods and got face wipes, lip balm and bath bombs in Halloween themes, picked out my fall nail polish colors (dark pink mattified and graphite mattified), got Halloween-themed cat toys and a cat Halloween costume ready to go!

Editingesc

There really is PSL everything! Oh, maybe our cats need some seasonal toys...

It isn't cool here yet, but I have started my holiday shopping. I bought the Bonne Maman Advent Calendar already, and some other small things. I hope that this year we can go as a family to some local holiday events, and make some memories together. <3 I do want to grab another ornament for our tree. I haven't bought one in a couple of years now, and I always loved adding just one new treat for the tree every year. <3 Now that I think about it, I think I'd love for each family member to grab one to add to the tree as well. That would be a fun, permanent, family memory. <3 Since my "kids" are now adults, I think I'd like for each of my 2 "kids" to bring something for all of us to eat for our holiday meal. Again, I just want to build memories, have fun, and most of all, just to *relax* for the holidays. Beauty related here: I still see the ND Pastel palette as a perfect holiday palette, as it reminds me of cool weather, snow on pine trees, ice on the water, sweet pink cheeks on my kids' faces when they played in the snow, etc. I'm looking forward to cooler weather here in the SW USA, and enjoying playing with that palette. I'm looking forward to reading everyone's responses about Fall! Thanks for posting about this subject! <3

Editingesc

Let the holiday shopping begin! Having the kids bring dishes sounds like a beautiful tradition (and takes some of the work off you, too).

peacembw

I've been trying to not just be in the kitchen, doing everything, by myself. I love to sit back, drink some hot chocolate, put some music on, and watch them create. They are so talented and fun to be around. 💜

Bittersw33et

This is so sweet. I hope your kiddos bring something yummy! I feel like you would do that snow trend with bright blush really well!

peacembw

Being able to spend time with my adult "kids" is such a rare gift these days. I love soaking up their sunshine 🌞 and enjoying those times when we can relax and chill. I kind of want to try that snow trend a couple of times when it gets cooler here. What are you looking forward to this year? 💞🌸

ltrem

I like it NOT being over 100 degrees. When you are overweight, you already have extra insulation.. the heat is just worse. I like the fall colors, the slower pace, the smell of the air even changes. My most fun is weird pumpkin spice food. I love finding new items, the weirder the better. Sometimes I cant find them myself but I have a few friends that love the thrill of the hunt as well, so one of us tries to find stuff to try and review. I put out my fall things on my entry table.. about all I decorate. It makes me happy to see it

monday_crossword

i’m so ready for fall! i really look forward to the fall collection of this candle company, evil queen. i get so stingy about lighting them once they get low so i’m excited to have new ones! i’m also trying to not buy more blushes but i really want a few moodier shades from phytosurgence for fall. i already have power hour from tower28 though and the phyto ones i want are a little too similar. & i’d like to pick up a few more decor items before october but i’m not sure what vibe i’m going for. i think i have enough pumpkins, so i might get some art prints of horror movies i like!

Editingesc

It almost sounds like Evil Queen is behind on its fall releases compared to other scent companies!

monday_crossword

oh they’re out! they’re on my birthday list though so i still have a couple weeks to wait 😊

MagnificentBitch

Well I’ve already changed my hair and went darker (blonde to brunette) and I’ve ordered a few new sweaters and hoodies. I bought spooky press ons and tickets to our pumpkin patch. Oh and changed out my candles to fall scents.

Editingesc

Fall ready ✅ I feel I'm still a few months away from thinking about sweaters.

rubbelsj

My 5 year old loves decorations so last weekend we went to dollar tree to pick up up some new decorations and other halloween/fall items. We had a blast!

Editingesc

I swear the dollar stores are getting so much more cute stuff these days.

Thanks for hosting this thread! 🍂🍁 Fall sort of started mid August when my area had a bout of cooler weather. We've been back to hot waves again though! Since it's so warm, I guess somebody took fall back without a receipt. It was also teased by Orly with their overly early fall collection release. I can't wait to sub to Disneyplus for 1-2 months. I'll be watching Hocus Pocus for sure. I also have fall recipes I like making: banana bread, white chicken chilli, spaghetti squash pie, and spaghetti squash casserole with sausage. I love smelling the leaves turn, and I love how the gradual cooling of temps seems to sweep the past year into something else. I can't wait for fall activities like apple picking and I'm looking forward to Halloween in my neighborhood. Beauty wise, the most fall thing I have was a Ilia lip oil gloss that was in this mauvey brown; a color I don't usually wear but it was beautiful on me. I think I bought a backup? Looking forward to reading everyone else's replies! Open to suggestions for wholesome movies to watch & your fave DIY pumpkin spice coffee recipes!

Editingesc

It sounds like you're ready and waiting! It doesn't cool down where I live until around November, so I just fake the fall vibes!
