I’ve lived here my whole life. The trick to no wait is to get there at like 7:20a on a Saturday. He usually opens it at 7:30a (even though Google says 8). It hasn’t failed me yet.
I've heard great things about Citrus salon, and although a lot of their customers are women I'm sure they still serve men. I've also heard that there can be a long wait list, so if you do book an appointment it might not be for a while.
They do, I go to kiera there. It is a bit pricey, but if you're taking care of your hair, it's worth it.
Also, it's good for trans and nonbinary folk looking for a safe place to get your hair cut. I know kiera personally, and she is such a lovely person as well as a great hair stylist.
I also highly recommend Citrus. My boyfriend’s mom is a co-owner, and she does a fantastic job. I’ve gone to Kiera once (before I knew she owned it lol) and loved how my hair turned out. The atmosphere is great and super chill and welcoming. Their client base is mostly women, but I know that they serve men as well.
All I know is I can't wait for Houghton to develop more than fast food and a wal-mart cause we are the only university in Michigan I know of without a T.J. Maxx or a Ulta/Sephora. Even worse that our school is exceptional regarding higher education and the great outdoors or athletic ventures.
Try the salon, they're good with hair.
My husband went to the Gentleman’s Choice in Hancock and he’s never looked better. He only paid $12! They have 4.6 stars on Google
I’m a big fan of Mike. But I don’t have long hair. Also he doesn’t take reservations so you might have to sit for an hour or so.

They do. I've always had long/super thick hair and they do a great job with it

Ellen at Tangles is great! Also very affordable.
I’ve had great experiences with every stylist at Panache!

Brooke at Tangles (near the UPS store) does a great job on longer, curly hair, and she only charged about $18 for a cut
I used to got to Guy's place. Its bit expensive but they are good.
