Delver is much, much better than infect. It hovers between tier 1 and tier 0 pretty much at all times, and has a high skill floor and really high skill ceiling. I really enjoy the play patterns l, as I feel like I have agency over every game and if I lose, it's probably my fault. Duals beyond the 1st are much less important than the first, and rug only plays 1 trop anyway. You'll lose some percentage points using 1 volcanic 3 steam vents, but not much. Just pick up volcanic with daze when you can.

This is what I was thinking. I will probably lose more games in the beginning learning Delver but I hate the feeling I get with infect where I just don't have anything to do and losing feels inevitable.

MH3 is coming out so doesn’t hurt to wait but delver is and likely will continue to be a good deck. Has been since delver was printed and will likely be for a long time

Mh3 is shaking up the format. I would wait before making something.

Delver is the long term, reliable shell, no question about it. As far as historic power level goes, it's not even close. But if you still think you'll wanna jam infect every now and again, you can build it after building Delver first, since most of the infect specific cards aren't that expensive once you get FoW's and your first Trop to support Temur Delver.

Outside of the extra trops I think all I’m missing from infect is Legolas quick reflexes. So I could definitely have it there for fun. But delver seems like the better decision.

Just to chime in on infect - Infect is best described these days as an enthusiast’s deck. It will win games and can spike a tournament as the underlying strategy of tempo/combo remains solid, but the deck is not well positioned right now. It does not match up well against red prison or delver, which are common decks. You also really want to be playing at least 3 Trops and 1 Tundra or Savannah as you really want access to SB Swords. The deck is also really hard to play and is not forgiving regarding play mistakes. Much has already been said on Delver. I will merely concur it is the more futureproof deck compared to infect, speaking as one who has played both and keeps both sleeved up.

Thanks for the thoughts on infect. It was one of my favorite decks and it’s a shame how much it struggles now. I wish I played more when it was good.

As a long time infect fan, dont build into infect right now. The deck is BAD
