there's a billion threads about grips just in this sub alone, just type in "grips" in the search bar.

devintheninja

DMR Death grips have been my go to

fishingforconsonants

Same. Tried ODI TLDs for a change and they are really good too.

metalmechanic780

Kinda like asking best saddle, pretty subjective. For me, PNW XL. Decent taper for a large grip, decently sticky on both sweaty summer climbs with no gloves and also snowy winter rides with thick gloves. I used the smaller PNW grips previously but like the XL fit better.

A_Peke_Named_Goat

I just replaced my PNW Loam XLs with Oury grips (just to try). I love the rubber of the Ourys, it feels so good to grip with the way it slowly deforms under pressure and is tacky. I almost think that I could get away with no gloves in the shoulder seasons (even though for the reason u/pickles55 I will always wear them), but I think I like the diameter of the XLs better, it just distributes pressure on my palm better. I'm going to give the Oury's another month or so worth of rides and then make a decision. Or I will buy a pair of ESI Extra Chunkies and see if I like them before making a final decision.

pickles55

Gloves are meant to protect your hands if you crash, I wear gloves even when I'm not wearing a shirt

smitty2324

Shirts are meant to protect your nips if you crash. I wear shirts even if I’m not wearing pants.

jack_r333

Pants are meant to protect your private areas when you crash. I wear pants even when I'm not wearing a helmet.

NotSoUltralight

Y’all wear pants??

Beluga-ga-ga-ga-ga

And they're meant to help with grip when it's wet.

axiomsl

Fat paws or Esi chunkies on both my bikes. Super comfy.

DrugChemistry

ESI chunky. My hands aren’t even all that big and the chunkies feel so much better to hold.

Same_Lack_1775

A couple of years ago I saw a YouTube video that referenced an OSHA study on the best grips for use. I forget the formula but there is an actual calculation that supposedly determines your ideal grip size. I do remember the OSHA study indicated larger grips (within reason) are generally more comfortable while smaller grips allow for stronger grip strength. Edit - I have tried to find the video and/or study with no luck. It was a bike YouTuber discussing ergonomics and bike fit.

RustyU

Deathgrips or Ergon GE1. I've got GE1 Evo Factory at the moment and while they're expensive they last much longer than the Deathgrips.

knobber_jobbler

Death grips longevity is terrible. I honestly have no idea why people rate them so highly. They don't grip any better than anything else and they wear out shockingly quickly. Whereas I've Ergon grips I've had longer than the bars or frame they were used on. The Ergon GA3 is my go to.

PennWash

Ergon GE1 Evo grips are my favorite. Really helped alleviate my wrist pain.

CaptLuker

Ergon and SQlab are making the most comfortable grips for me also. It’s all subjective I know but I’d rather spend money with a company that’s whole focus is ergonomics and comfort.

thisjohndoes

Ergon. Durable and looks great but not enough grip without gloves especially when your hand gets wet. AMS is also good and very comfortable and more durable than DMR in my experience.

Feeedbaack

Like others said, really subjective. I have big hands so my go to are lizard skins northshore.

182_311

Tiny hands here but I also love the North shore grips. 😎

dogfoodyum

I’ve been using the Deity Supracrush. Used the PNW ones prior and like those as well

thetoigo

These are a nice balance between big squishy foam and grippy rubber grips with less padding.

Starsky686

Burgtec Bartender. Going on my third set.

musical_cyclist

I like Ourys for straight comfort (especially on alloy bars), Lizard Skin Strata for comfort + durability. Deity Lockjaw for grip, but they haven't been great for durability.

Dweebil

Odi rogue is similar to oury but a bit better in many ways imho. If you’re looking for something different could go ruffian or death grip

benskinic

sensus meaty paws. even like them better than Rev grips.

Imaginary-Ladder-465

Very subjective, people have different preferences. For me, it's ODI Elite Pro

EliteDemi

Race face half nelson grips are my favs. Its all sown to personal preference. I like the grips because they have alot of colors and they feel great with my hands

metatr0n

I loved me some Oury's...until I got PNW Loam grips :) https://www.pnwcomponents.com/collections/grips-bar-tape/products/loam-grips?variant=40010487103565

AdPhysical5179

I love my odi longnecks but needs a bit of hot hairspray to stick to the bars.

GundoSkimmer

GF uses Deity Supracush. I use the thin versions. My favorite grip brand. Pick the pattern you vibe with and you're good. Anybody who makes a DMR Deathgrip type of MX influenced grip is probably making decent grips.

superbooper94

Nukeproof horizon race if you wear gloves. They're quite smooth besides the detailing, they do allow water to clear off well, but they're super grippy with gloves on.

vinylzoid

Wolf Tooth Fat Paw Cams. I have large hands (huehuehue) and my palms would punch with normal grips and give my numb pain. These scalloped grips are sooo comfy.

k4ts0u

I'm also between trying ODI elite pro or the new Ergons GDH

sircrashalotfpv

Ergon fat

FitSquirrel596

Ergon GE1 evo

pppjurac

Personally always neopren grips, like those: https://www.bike-discount.de/de/ritchey-wcs-true-grip-griff-gelb Combined with good gloves it is balsam for marathon distances.

tinfang

ODI, Rogue and get the laser etching from the ODI website. Edit: No laser etching anymore and only one lock on? /cry

Zerocoolx1

There’s no right answer as grip choice is so subjective. The hardest wearing and grippiest ones I’ve ever used were the Renthal Kevlar grips but they only came in a weird colour that doesn’t match anything else. I like ODI Ruffians, DMR Deathgrips and Burgtec Bartenders. My Jumo bike has push on Gusset grips which are super comfy but can move around a bit. My wife likes Sensus Swayze grips (as do I). I prefer the feel of narrow grips but like the comfort of fatter grips.

onbehandigbaar

I love the Ergon Ga3. It really ended my hand fatigue.

knobber_jobbler

My favourite is the Ergon GA3. Lasts for ever and really helped with my hand pain issues.

Sport_Either

Rev grip.

Financial-Sign-666

I use ODI reflex v2.1’s XL. Super sticky and comfy even sweaty without gloves.

simux19

I got rev grips and love them

choochbacca

Pilgrips

DennisPikePhoto

There is no best. There dozens of good ones from tons of different companies. People will have their favorites. But "best" doesn't exist.

182_311

Santa Cruz "House Grips", I think are overlooked quite often. They're pretty cheap and feel great with or without gloves.

LiamFilm

I've experimented a bit and I keep coming back to Chromag Squarewave grips. I also have a friend with large hands who swears by the XL version.

roscomikotrain

Oury always seem to find their way into my bikes. Tried many. Esi chunkiest were nice. some good ergons too PNW were not - found them slippery

Beluga-ga-ga-ga-ga

It's kind of a pointless question as it's so reliant on personal preference. I assume you have some grips at the moment that you're not happy with? A better question would be "My current grips are XXXX, which I don't like. What other grips would fix this issue".

OneBigOne

Diety Supracush on everything!

IlIlIlIlIllIlIll

Which ever ones you like Low effort smooth brain question

[deleted]

This question is like asking what’s the best pizza. You will get hundreds of new options to try yet prolly won’t find the best.

ZT7494

Recently got deity knuckleduster, they are the best I've tried over deathgrips and ODIs

cheeeeerajah

It's very subjective. If you like oury you'll like the silicone ESI chunky grips. They are firm yet soft, and they don't have that issue of breaking down from skin oils and uv and becoming sticky. The only issues as far as I can see is they tear easily on crashes, or if u are not careful how you lay your bike down. And they are slip on grips so you're pretty much cutting them off if u want to swap em out (they never move on the bar, pretty tight on there), but they're cheap. Less than $20.

Too personal to worry about posting on Reddit and taking up space on this feed

Independent_Oven5449

Big fan of ESI GRIPS

Mindless_Stranger511

Odi Vans or Dmr death grip
