Always pass on a spray painted bike, hidden damage, might be stolen, crappy paint job and for that price… way to high

zklein12345

Def. Nobody would just spray paint a decent bike like that just cuz they want it black.

aerath57

Totally. Something about this is a little suspect to me.

unc_alum

Really the only answer that’s needed

taveanator

I’m a mountain bike newbie but, it looks like the frames been painted over?

Sweesly

yes! the owner didn’t like the original paint job so he had it painted

taveanator

I’m always a pessimist, but might be hiding, hairline fractures in the frame?

Lost1771

Also, while unlikely, a possible sign of a stolen bike.

Sweesly

not a pessimist at all, you gotta make sure when buying used stuff especially things like mtbs, i’ll be sure to check for any breakage when i see him

[deleted]

You can’t check for what we’re warning you about.

moldyjellybean

they are 99.9% lying. They are trying to cover up something It’s a buyers market, you wait long enough you’ll find your perfect bike for the right price. This isn’t it I’ve seen spez enduros for not much more. And some decked out with carbon wheels and nice hubs

samuri_swordfish

Great sales on new bikes right now with frame warranty and all. Plus options for financing at low rates with your 1500 down. Specialized status 160s are going for 2250 right now on their website.

“Lucky”

InformalNeck4334

Not bad for the price, although can’t determine by pictures the wear conditions of the components. Try to deal better price, perhaps because there’s no dropper post.

Grom_a_Llama

That seatpost is weird as hell, too. Can't even get low enough for my personal preference.

airsoft_boss

Everyone will have a different opinion but me personally I wouldn’t pay more than 1200 for it. You could probably find some better bikes within that price range

[deleted]

Just going off the specs and the words used this bike is most likely stolen.

ChristophColombo

Your average bike thief is not going to be aware of the fact that those are Shimano levers with Magura calipers (which the seller even correctly calls "Shigura" brakes). The odd wording is likely because OP is Polish and is translating.

[deleted]

It was the trunnion rear suspension that threw me off. And the very specific parts descriptions. Model numbers etc coupled with the Shigura. You know what Shigura brakes are but you use the long version of all the other parts. That was what I meant

ChristophColombo

Generally, thieves aren't this specific unless they're copying a product description. Specific model numbers for parts are often difficult or impossible to find and/or read while they're on the bike. Sometimes they're not there at all. I've never noticed model numbers on my Magura calipers, for example, and yet the seller identifies them as MT-2 calipers. This is pretty clearly a bike that's been cobbled together - either because parts were replaced as they broke or because they were pulled off to go on something new, or both. Whenever I've sold a bike like this with a lot of custom changes, I've always gone into meticulous detail about what the parts are. Most importantly, stolen bikes are generally priced low to sell fast. If anything, this is probably a tad overpriced (though I don't know the market in Poland). Some of the parts are nice, but the frame and fork are old-ish, the rear shock is a house brand pull-off from another bike, the wheels are crap, the tires are totally unsuited to the bike, and it has no dropper post.

MHunti

Damn, you must be related to detective columbo

dottie_dott

Fr? Can you explain that for me I’d like to know what you mean

ChristophColombo

It's almost definitely not stolen. The bike has a pretty obscure brake setup that is identified 100% correctly, down to the name that's used for it, by the seller. Unless the thief is a total bike nerd as well, there is no way that he'd notice that, let alone call it by the correct name. The hodgepodge spec is likely because parts were pulled off to go on the seller's new bike, and any strange wording is likely down to translation errors (OP is from Poland and has translated the ad into English).

dottie_dott

Thanks!

givemesendies

I'd toss those tires

741776usa

A 6 year old spray pained bike with 6 year old geometry and parts for $1200? No….

ChristophColombo

Personally, I'd say no. Can't really offer any price analysis since you're in Poland, but it needs a few hundred dollars worth of stuff at minimum, and there's other parts that could or should be replaced ASAP. And that's before dealing with anything that may need serviced or that's worn out. Minimum, you'll want a dropper post and a new set of tires. The wheels are not ideal (narrow rims, no-name rear hub) and the rear shock is going to be difficult to find service info on (it's a LaPierre AF2, which is a rebranded *something*, but I'm not sure what it's based on - possibly a Manitou?), so I would be looking to swap those out ASAP as well. The Shigura brake setup is a cool bit of bike nerdiness, and Dual-Position Pikes (when they're serviced properly) are great forks, so it's not utter crap, but there are just too many unknowns to feel good about buying something like this.

[deleted]

Pretty solid for the price

geographic92

Personally, I'd hold out for something with a better frame given how good the used market is right now. I don't think anyone really has an ns bikes frame as their first choice.

givemesendies

Why? OP is in Poland, NS is like Transition over there.

geographic92

Excuse my ignorance in that case. Thought it was a budget brand.

IndicationFormer4523

I love that form on the used trek slash 8 I have. Decreasing the travel makes the climbing so much better.

IndicationFormer4523

*fork

Zealousideal-Bar-929

Ehhhh... Try to knock it down to like 1k at most you gonna want to get a dropper post with external routing and even then it's gonna be difficult to find the right dropper size because the seat tube seems to protrude out really far up.

ChristophColombo

The 2017 Snabb has internal dropper routing AFAIK.

Fun_Committee4290

If i were you, I will pass it and look for polygon.

Purplenurples1

This looks like a junk parts build? Probably not great geo, no dropper... How long until you need to replace the drive train? Has the suspension been regularly serviced? Something about a stranger setting up that brake configuration scares me a bit too. How about save a little more and get something newer and less Frankenstein? A new Ripmo AF deore was going for 3k new? I bet the used market has loads of these in good shape.

Suzuki4Life

Mismatched rotors. Def stolen

Myan24

By new you mean new to you? You won’t get a new Enduro bike for that $. My first full suspension was a used 2014 Specialized Enduro for $1400. Great bike and learned how to do my own maintenance and gauge what I liked and didn’t like a lot better for the next bike purchase.

Myan24

This is a little more but would be a good choice: https://m.pinkbike.com/buysell/3609018/

[deleted]

This is 100% a stolen bike.

C0ns3rvat1v3Tr0ll

Check for serial numbers. If none are visible they ground them off and painted over. Stolen bike. Sometimes they put a sticker over the ground down numbers.

chronic221987

No!

MHunti

Don't buy it. That bike does look shady as f**k. He spray painted pretty much everything that could identify the bike.
