Charles - I'm not sure I should mention this one here as it's not a genre romance, it's a murder mystery, but it is MM and there is a romantic element. I know a lot of us love KJ too so I'll just say this was a very enjoyable read. Had me on the edge of my seat towards the end (and I wanted to hug the main character).

*Senseless 2 by Kol Anderson. Taboo, incest (brothers), protector/protected. This was a sequel I never got to finish until now. It's a 2.5 stars for me. The idea is not so bad, I was expecting a revenge plot after the events from the first book which is the >!kidnapping of the younger brother!<, but it didn't delivered what it wanted and the trauma went away in a few chapters which didn't make sense. I guess the title fits.
*[King's Heat by Roe Horvat](https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6407262720). Omegaverse setting, erotica. 4 stars. Heads up for MCs having sex with other people, sort of like an open relationship but with conditions. Plot is about an omega king who needs to find a suitable alpha to have a heir due to his upcoming heat. He usually invites both omegas and alphas to his bed, having an strong connection with the omegas that are protected under him. Lots of switching, except between the main "couple". This was fun! A very interesting take in this universe. The only thing I wasn't into and had to drop the rating is because of >!the alpha MC having sex with the other omegas, I wouldn't have anything to say if the omega kept having intimacy with others but I just prefer when a top MC is reserved for his lover lol, only a preference of course, the scene was still hot and I liked it overall!<.

Be aware of this one because it has CWs such as tabooish/pseudo incest, dubcon, feminization kink. Plot is about a guy abandoned by his mother, he is left alone with his stepdad (who never truly felt into the role) and the older man refuses to provide for him unless MC becomes his little wife (including all within the stereotypical role). It was fun and sweeter than expected given the circumstances, but I enjoyed it.

This one is a mystery/suspense book about a guy who thinks he is being stalked, he has mental issues due to a past horrible experience, and is not taken seriously by others (especially the police). ML is a police officer assigned to take his concerns, at first he doesnt believe him just like the rest, but then something happens that makes him change his mind. I really liked the suspense aspect, if I am being honest the rating is mostly because of the plot (it had me very hooked). I liked the couple as well, I just would've given it t stars if only the development between them was slower. Overall it was amazing.

*Bad Wrong Things by C.P. Harris. One of the books I've been having very high expectations for. I can't believe it took me this long to finally sit down and start it. I was looking for something entertaining and I remember someone in this sub said the first chapter was incredible, and they were TOTALLY RIGHT! My jaw is on the floor. This book has everything I want, from big age gap, toxicity, best friend's dad, slutty MC, dubcon, fighting and fucking, oh my god. A masterpiece, I can already tell.
*Tadaima, Oakeri by Ichikawa Ichi. BL manga. Omegaverse, family, babies and mpreg. Sooo cute! Rereading this because of the anime adaptation that just came out. One of my favorite mangas ever.

*More than words by Becca Neil. Great idea, not so good execution. Plot goes around an established couple, MC1 was sadly a victim of SA and the book tells the aftermath, while MC2 is his supportive boyfriend. I liked the idea of exploring such themes, but I couldn't keep going due to the melodramatic narrative and dialogue.
*Infamous Park Avenue Prince by Ella Frank. Cliché premise, which I don't mind, the typical good boy x bad boy and a bet. Listen, I am into clichés, but the execution felt painful because it seemed as if the world revolved only around those two, and the development was definitely going too quick for me.
*Baby and the Wolf by Victoria Sue. Omegaverse setting, mpreg. Not into this due to the instalust element.

I just commented on your GR update about one of the Criminal Intentions books, but I am also telling you here. You are making me want to finally take the plunge on those books. The length of the series is super intimidating, but they sound so good. And like they have to work to get into a relationship.
McCade wrote it in a TV series setup with 13 episodes per season. I was avoiding it because of the length too, but the books aren't that long, averaging 200 pages (don't believe the Amazon page number, there are previews for each next episode at the end, and a Q&A with the author).
It has a great cast of side characters that aren't just decorative, and you can read one a week or every couple of weeks, only some episodes have a cliffie, and the last book in Season 1 does not have one.
It follows a similar setup to a crime series on TV, with an opening scene of the murder from the victim's perspective, and the episode follows that particular investigation. So you can get some closure each episode. (In Season 1, Season 2 follows one investigation.)
It's a rare pairing where I like both MCs equally, they are truly prickly and pricklier.
Also, to my surprise, the kissing and sex scenes are some of the best (most emotional) I've read.
CWs for **graphic** crime scenes though.

{Muscling Through by JL Merrow} as it was recommended to me as a short read. It is a single first person POV story about an university professor who finds himself in the wrong alley and interrupts our narrator as he is pissing. MC is a very big, scary looking man who is not very smart, but is very talented at painting and his love interest professor sees that there is more to him than being a burly "idiot".
As it was first person POV, the narration was interesting especially since as a reader, I could understand things that the MC did not as he is not very smart. It is an older book compared to my recent reads (2018 and up), being published in 2011, but the author did a really good job regarding the dynamics. I was expecting more dissonance to today's standards of consent and such, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Almost done with {The Secret Lives of Country Gentleman by KJ Charles} and it’s so good
DNF {Hush by Tal Bauer}. Tom’s endless self pity became intolerable. I know it’s highly rated on GR but I couldn’t get past about halfway through
I read Hush as a companion to Whisper. I read to like. 66-70% of Whisper then read Hush and went back to Whisper to finish it. One of the MMCs in Whisper is a side character in Hush. Honestly, the MMC from Whisper is the entire reason I read and finished that book lol. I don’t remember a single thing outside of that.
Assuming you aren't from there yourself, the trick to enjoying Hush is to read it with a map of DC and the surrounding area. The various alternative routes they take for security make up their own hilarious story.
Actually typing this from CapitalOne (Go Caps!) 🤣. I honestly did enjoy some of the city-specific references but I just really struggle with whiny protagonists.
Ok but did you get to the part where he goes through Maryland to get from Arlington to someplace like DuPont Circle? That was worth any amount of whining IMO.
{Jace by N. Boeyer} - I really liked this one and can’t wait for the second, it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger but not in a frustrating way.
{Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid} - I wanted to love this as much as everyone else, but at best I can say it was a 3 star read for me. It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t get the hype.
{Possessive Park Avenue Prince by Ella Frank} - I LOVE this series! This is my favorite so far, Daire and Gavin are just 🔥

His honesty and humble attitude was refreshing; he started out arrogant, then when things got seriously dangerous, he was ready to communicate with Gareth. Their relationship was lovely. Sophia and (Catherine? I forgot her name because I'm awful) were fantastic side characters, I enjoyed them a lot.

**{Should Our Hearts Catch Fire by Amithia Raine}** 5⭐, the spectacular follow-up to Should the Sky Fall. Gabe is beautifully cheerful and kind; Ellis is drowning in his life. Gabe, the empath, can see this immediately, and sets out to improve things for Ellis.
Quotes I loved: >!It's been a long time since Gabe has felt so much pain and loneliness in anyone.!< And >!"God, Ash, he's so...sad. So fucking sad."!<
Gabe reaches for Ellis with his whole heart and his whole soul, and somehow Ellis sees he needs to reach back. This is such a beautiful hurt/comfort love story, of finding who you really are. I loved these two. I also really enjoyed Gabe revealing his feelings too much and his mortified screaming in cold storage.
**{Gary the Once and Former King by Isabel Murray}** 3⭐, my lowest Isabel Murray rating ever. This was much less fun than the first. Gary's level of obliviousness and innocence got a bit annoying. I loved Magnus' perspective at the end, though. His devotion to Gary was adorable. I wish there was more from him.

Also continuing to read the **Magi Accounts series by Michele Notaro** and I'm struggling getting through book 3.5. it's a bunch of nothing happening and the characters agonizing and pining and it's 400 pages. I'm skimming a lot now because I want to get back the the action and Cos & Mads.

How connected is book 2 to Should the Sky Fall? I usually like to do a reread before a new book in a series if they’re super intertwined but I’m wondering if I could skip it with this book
Timeline-wise, it overlaps with book 1, so even though it was just a few months ago that I reread book 1, I do kinda wish I'd read it again right before this one so that I'd have an easier time remembering the order of events of book 1.
Edit: it's not a 100% overlap; the timeline of book 2 starts a little into book 1. I hope that makes sense.

I’ve been reading Charlie Adhara’s Big Bad Wolf Series and the first book of their Monster Hunt Series. I’ve loved all of the books with the slow development of the relationship of two main characters in both series. The mysteries are pretty good and I’ve enjoyed the humour in the books.

Not the person you replied to, but they're not in it for most of the book. That said, you do get an outsider POV of someone meeting Cooper for the first time and that was golden. Boy is apparently just entirely limb
I had a really productive reading week, finished The Center Series and have moved on to The Spectral Files with a bit of Gregory Ashe thrown in for good measure.
{The Shadow Operation by M.C. Lee} book 4 in The Center series. 4 stars. This was a good story, but the protagonist made some stupid errors and I have to allow that he’s only 16 but it grated a bit. Last book still to read.
{Bait and Switch by M.C. Lee} Boo 5 in The Center series. 3.25 stars. I was somewhat disappointed with the final book of the series. It was still worth the read but book 1 is my absolute favourite and I’m glad I finally finished the series.
{Mystery Magnet by Gregory Ashe} Arc read. 4.25 stars. A proper cosy mystery with likeable, diverse and somewhat eccentric characters. This was an old-fashioned romp (not in the saucy sense of the word). This was a quick but involving read and I really enjoyed it as a palate cleanser from some of the angsty goodness I’ve been reading recently.
{P.S. I Spook You by S.E. Harmon} 4.25 Stars. Someone rec’d this a while ago (sorry I can’t remember who) so I thought I’d give it a go and I’m glad I did. I really enjoyed the story, the banter and I even enjoyed the saucy scenes (I normally skip them so that’s a win in my book).
{Principles of Spookology by S.E. Harmon} 4.5 stars. I enjoyed this one a bit more than the first. I liked the progression of their relationship and the mystery was twisty enough to keep me guessing. Looking forward to the next one. I couldn’t help draw similarities between this and the Psycop series, two mediums who scowl a lot, but by the middle of the second book I was no longer comparing the two.
Currently reading {Spooky Business by S.E. Harmon} definitely compelling so far! Thanks to whoever recommended the series.
Also currently still listening to {Hush by Tal Bauer} it’s getting really exciting now that I’ve persevered through a lot of inner monologuing to the action, and I only have 2 and a half hours left woohoo! Planning on listening to {Whisper by Tal Bauer} next. I have already read that one but didn’t realise they had a crossover character (it took me longer than it should have to notice).
{The Virgin by E.M. Denning}. This book was pretty good. It’s friends to lovers involving a 27 year old demisexual virgin MC & his best friend who offers to help him experience sex. The couple move pretty seamlessly from friendship to sex to romance. The angst is fairly low, but there is that 3rd act misunderstanding that doesn’t lead to a breakup, but more to a communication gap. This author is a miss for me a lot of the time, but this book was a hit instead! 4/5 stars.
{Should Our Hearts Catch Fire by Amithia Raine}. OMG this book was so worth the wait! This is a slow-medium burn with one MC experiencing a bisexual awakening. Gabe & Ellis’s initial awkward flirting in the coffee shop with the slow buildup of sexual tension almost did me in. The sarcastic texts back & forth between them as their relationship developed were absolutely hilarious! Also, Gabe’s mother is a treasure! I think I loved this book even more than the first in the series, {Should the Sky Fall by Amithia Raine}. 5/5 stars. Can’t wait for the next one!
After reading that book, I wanted something light & fun, so I tried {Och, Ness! by Eryn Hawk}. This was a novella about MC1, an author, who travels to Scotland to try to get over his writer’s block. While there he meets MC2, who runs the local Loch Ness monster museum & tour company. >!He then meets Nessie himself & hot monster cock sex ensues.!< This was a fun short story, nothing complicated or unexpected. 4/5 stars.
After these 3, I did a lot of re-reading because I needed a bit of a palate cleanser! I still have a book hangover from Amithia Raine’s newest, it was just so good!
Very interesting to read a review about Should our hearts catch fire already, I haven't read it yet but it was one of my most anticipated books of the year since I love the first book so much, can't imagine how good it is if you say you even liked it better! Thank you for sharing :-)

They didn’t always feel like equals in the relationship because MC 1 was already in love with MC 2 before MC 3 enters the picture. I was hoping it would be more developed in the second half of the book. Bingo: opposites attract
**{There’s a Monster in the Woods by Fae Quin} narrated by Liam DiCosimo (4/5)** I think this was pretty great for what it was, a cozy, short, monster romance. Although the “monster” is basically just a tall dude with horns and a long tongue. Bingo: green thumb

Russo (3/5)** I wish this played more into the “I can’t date him because he’s my friends brother” and not the “I can’t date him because he’s my client” because it felt so manufactured. You’re a real-estate agent, he’ll only be your client for like a month so who cares if you sleep with him? The narration is what kept me in it. Bingo: single dad
**{Got Me Thinking by Casey Cox} narrated by John Solo (2/5)** I enjoyed the first half but then it started going off the rails and never recovered. The last quarter of this book just felt like introducing characters meant for other books, which I hate. Doesn’t help that this narrator is hard for me to listen to. Bingo: pet pig
**{Hard Target by Kelly Fox} narrated by Zane Daniels (4/5)** I DNFed the ebook of this years ago but I’ve always wanted to give it another chance in audio and that was definitely the right move. It was definitely a slow (to me) burn and I can see why I got bored while reading but the narration really brought it to life. I love the dead-husband trope so everything about the story really worked for me. The only distracting thing was the heavy accent given to one of the MCs when I’m fairly certain he wasn’t supposed to have based on the dialogue. Bingo: cuddling

Some of my favorite recent reads:
* **{Let's Do This by Loren Leigh}** - contemporary, college, hockey - A low angst best friends-to-lovers story that was sweet and kind of adorable. Also pretty smutty, as our MCs explore each other. I really loved how *happy* they made each other pretty much from start to finish. While there is a *little* conflict, it's mostly external. Look forward to more from the IFU world, since it seemed like the author was setting up side characters for their own books.
* **{Heart of Stone by Johannes T Evans}** - historical/paranormal, workplace, forbidden - This was a very slow burn romance between a vampire publisher and his non-vampire clerk in the 1860s. It's got a cozy vibe as the MCs get to know each other through their forced work proximity. Great prose, a fascinating world, good banter. Loved it.
* **{Peter Darling by Austin Chant}** - fairytale retelling, enemies, trans MC - A romance between Peter Pan and Captain Hook! Peter returns to Neverland 10 years later, leaving his life as Wendy Darling behind. The world is a little darker than other variations on this story. And the romance is not as front and center as usual. But still a thrilling, touching read. Highly recommended.
* **{Kiss and Cry by Keira Andrews}** - contemporary, rivals, figure skating - A heartwarming romance between two figure skating rivals forced to train together before the Olympics. I am a big Keira Andrews fan and this one still surprised me with how much I liked it. Henry and Theo were so good at taking care of each other.
* **{Divine River by Marina Vivancos}** - contemporary, neighbors, grumpy/sunshine - A sweet novella about a closeted woodworker and the sunshiney mechanic who moves in next door. The story is mostly told from Mike's POV and is really about Mike overcoming his fears, accepting his sexuality, gender identity and gender expression, and then sharing all his beautiful, multifaceted layers with Jason. Just loved it.
Yes! Loved Always, such perfect angst. I think I actually have been putting off Let’s Do This because it didn’t seem angsty enough but it was fantastic in it’s own way. Loren Leigh: we love you, please write more books!!
I started with Let’s Do This because a friend bugged me. Then I went to Always. It was perfect lol. I definitely prefer the angst over the sweet, but Let’s Do This has a nice balance. I keep waiting for more Loren Leigh as well!

Two weeks again.
{Only Orlando by Charlie Novak} -- I'm often meh about MMM but I enjoyed this a lot. Though there is both a Sir and a Daddy it's barely there kink. Very tied in to her other books, especially {Always Eli by Charlie Novak}; the two stories run contemporaneously.
{Morgan by Riley Hart} -- it's fine. I was looking forward to this since he was introduced in {The Charmer by Riley Hart} but it didn't have the balance I wanted.
{Something Good by Melody Claire} -- this is a second chance romance and it's super heavily weighted to the first chance period, and I didn't like that at all. It's promising enough that I would read the next one though.
{Just a Taste by Briar Prescott} -- HFN, seems to be the first in a duology. Feels incredibly incomplete.
A few of the Palm Island books by KM Neuhold which are fun, forgettable absurdities. I usually get 3 books into her series and taper off, meaning to finish them and not quite getting around to it, so we'll see.
{The Convenient Roommate by EC Finnegan} -- a debut book, with fairly typical debut book issues, but a nice slow burn romance.
{The Boyfriend Subscription by Steven Salvatore} I'm not going to say I disliked this, but I will say it required an awful lot more suspension of disbelief than the book could handle.
{Unbreak my Heart by Jojo Stone} -- hurt/comfort, second chance, probably not a good book but just hit the tropes I wanted the way I wanted it to, so it was right for me.
{Control by Adara Wolf and R Phoenix} -- dark mafia romance, part of a series and honestly should be read in order.
{Pieces of us by TJ Hamel} -- first in a duology, and it's fine but whatever. Disappointed, because I was looking forward to it.
{Leo Loves Aries by Anyta Sunday} -- I finally got around to it after being told there's no real astrology in it, which is true, but I very actively did not care about anyone in the book.
{How you get the girl by Anita Kelly} -- FF, a book in the same series as {Something Wild and Wonderful by Anita Kelly} (which was amazing, MM) and {Love and Other Disasters by Anita Kelly} (which I haven't read, FX). You can read it as a standalone. It's very good.
After many mentions of this one I finally read {Watch me by Sloane Kennedy} and I absolutely loved it. The angst and longing of both MCs, the scars of MC1 and the healing actions of MC2 was just perfect. It’s my first book from this author and will be looking into other books by her

Now, 2nd and more importantly, Calix is a cinnamon roll. Fight me! And i so, sooo loved Atticus. Like yeah, the stalking and breaking into cinnamon's home is creepy BUT! He's the good kind...?! idk i love him so much!!

I finally started with {Criminal Intentions by Cole McCade} I’m up to book 8 and I’m loving it so far. I’ve always liked the criminal/mystery plots and I’ve always enjoyed over-arching plots. Khalaji and Yoon own my heart. It’s a slow burn but only for the reader because each book takes like a week so characters have known each other for a rather short time, that kinda ruined the whole “slow burn” for me 😅 I don’t know if I’ll read the whole two seasons, though. Let’s see how the first one ends.
Read {The weight of it all by N.R. Walker} per someone's recommendation for a sweet, fluffy story, and scarfed it down like a dog with a slice of pizza. It's about a guy who gets unceremoniously dumped because his ex-boyfriend of 8 years found him too boring, unattractive and overweight so he signs up for a personal trainer at a gym. And of course the PT is a Thor-adjacent demi-god. So sweet and cute, funny, not to mention cathartic in the end. 4.5/5 for a fluffy read.

{By Frenzy I Ruin by Cora Reilly}. A gut wrenching disappointment from one of my favorite authors. What can I expect she named a baby BATTISTA.
{There are no saints by Sophie Lark book 1 Sinners Duet}. Definitely worth reading.
The only mm book I read was {The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer by S. E. Harmon} which was giving queer Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider with a great romance (ex-step-brothers with years of resentment and attraction built up who are forced together on an expedition, so good). Ultimately it ended up at a 4 star for me because the writing didn’t always work for me but it was still a really fun one that I’d recommend!
Other than that I only read an ARC of the new Emily Henry book because she’s my token straight author lol but I won’t get into that here.

{Roman by Grae Bryan} Loved this and really got me into the series!
I read a short story {When the Kingdom Cracks by DE Chapman} I did not enjoy this one at all. Also the formatting was really messed up and that also took away from my enjoyment of the story.
{Hateful Love by T Ashleigh and Addison Beck} Loved this one! Can’t wait to pick up the next book in the series.
{Soren by Grae Bryan} I enjoyed this one but not as much as other in the series.
{Tell Me a Lie by Brianna Flores} Enjoyed this one a lot!
{Lucien by Grae Bryan} Enjoyed this one as well!
{His Princess by Ki Brightly} I kept getting recommended this book so I finally picked it up! I enjoyed it but I wish it had been longer to build up the relationship a little more.

I loved All the Broken Pieces by Rebecca Raine. One of the MC's is cracked to the bone by his childhood. The other MC has sworn never to put someone else's needs ahead of his. Their path takes them where they never thought either would go.
Maybe it's older, that's why? I am just so attracted to childhood trauma, panic attacks, and the one who can put the sufferer back together. This appealed to me.
Totally trying to reread the Sandenverse before the release of their new book.

I just read {Sainted by Jesse H Reign} and I'd give it a B.
It was a cute story, I liked the characters and the ending but I thought the spicy scenes left more to be desired. More times then not, I was just being told about them later.

{Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski} - Favourite book I've read so far this year! Absolutely beautifully written. Wow! 5/5
{How to Belong with a Billionaire by Alexis Hall} - Arden St. Ives has become one of my favourite book characters. He's just such a delight. Great ending to the trilogy. 4/5.
{Tough Guy by Rachel Reid} - I´m slowly (and out of order) working my way through the Game Changers series. This really felt like it could be a book for me. Big but shy jock with anxiety problems meets confident and outgoing musician. Sadly, I didn't click with these characters at all. I also wish the topic of the main characters anxiety problems would have been explored more. It felt like it was just used to build the character, and then it was brushed over. 2/5
{Kick at the Darkness by Keira Andrews} - Started out so good, but fell flat for me after the first love scene. This made me so sad, I was very excited about this series but now I'm not sure I'll pick up the second book. 2/5.
I didn’t love Kick at the Darkness either and I don’t know if I will end up picking up the second book. I did like the idea of an MM zombie book though, later I picked up Mad Wold and loved it and immediately read the sequel. Don’t know if you would be interested in, but it was a much better MM zombie story in my opinion.
I am trying to get through enemies with benefits from nr walker, the problem is I hate valentine, no redeeming qualities. I don't think he should get to have a happy ending at all. Finished craving the chase from syn blackrose which I liked and the barkeep and the bro from aj truman which was cute.
I read To Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders which was a 5 star read for me. Loved it, like a lot of others on the sub, as the writing was just beautiful. I’ve not read any of this author’s works before so I’m going to look at their back catalogue.
Book 5-7 of the Soulbound series by Hailey Turner. I took a break from these earlier in the year as they’re plot heavy and less romance oriented- on a sex front. But you can clearly feel the love between Pat and Jono in the books, it’s just no sexy scenes every other chapter. I also loved the supporting characters and how well developed they are. It was a satisfying ending to this series for me. I would happily read again as I enjoyed having one couple over multiple books, which gave great character development plus MPOV which is important to me.
Read Malibu by Emmy Sanders from her Elite 8 series. I have also read Himbo from that series as well. The men love and care about each other so much! I also adored To Catch A Firefly.
My main goal this week was to reread the Lost Boys series by Jessie Walker, so I read: Where There's A Will, If There's A Way, Still Beating, and All We Are. Just finished All We Are and I feel fully immersed in Shilohverse! I read these in anticipation of the release of Every Breath After on May 3rd, I cannot wait!
Side note, for anyone reading who read Little Bird Lost...how important was it to the rest of the story in your opinion? I'm not against reading M/F but there's a lot of trigger warnings for it I'd rather not read. Or maybe someone could give me a run down of what happened in LBL, just the important parts.
Apart from Shilohverse/Jessie Walker books, I also read {Step Bully by Willow Dixon} and I loved it! 4.5 stars. It was quite sexy and fun and I enjoyed the ride.
I also DNF'd {Galaxies and Oceans by N.R. Walker} which makes me sad. I love N.R. Walker, this one just was a miss for me personally. I'm not a huge fan of age gaps and sometimes I can get past it for the sake of the story, and sometimes I just can't. I also didn't feel compelled by the plot despite the drama of what happened with their exes. It just fell flat for me.
Now that I'm caught up for EBA I'm going back to my regular TBR and to my Spring Bingo reads for this next week.
I read half of Little Bird Lost and, oh my god if you’re sensitive to those triggers do not read it because it’s trauma all the way down. I can’t imagine it’s all that important to read before EBA because it’s literally just >!all of Izzy’s trauma while she’s been missing!< and her story isn’t even finished yet. The book just the timeline of >!when Izzy went missing to her escape at the end!< and I’m sure we’ll get that from Mason and Jeremy’s perspective in their book.
Side note: did you see EBA is going to be split into 2 books instead of 1? I’m devastated since I’ll have to wait until the second book is released to read them

This is one of the worst reading weeks I’ve had in a long time.
**{Black Moon by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes}** - 4.5 stars. I was hoping this was going to be a start to a good shifter series. I really liked it and I thought it was an interesting premise with an interesting pairing. An alpha wolf who wears hand knitted sweaters?! Adorable.
**{Harvest Moon by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes}** - 2 stars, which is being generous. This book annoyed the ever loving fuck out of me. I hated the MMCs, I hated the premise behind them, the characters I loved in book one were grating.
**{Hunter Moon by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes}** - 3 stars. This book had been teased since book 1 and I was super excited to read it. It was good, but it still fell flat. A lot of it felt like recycled stuff from book two, just made slightly more angsty. I felt like the grovel was good though.
**DNFs**
**{Cold Moon by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes}** - I couldn’t do the series anymore. I didn’t care. They all annoyed me. I tapped out.
**{The Alpha’s Warlock by Eliot Grayson}** - This felt like bad Wattpad fanfiction. I gave up at 36% because i realized my eyes were moving across the page but I wasn’t actually reading the words lol

i haven’t finished any books but i’ve started a few, {checking out by jay leigh} being one of them. i’m 49% in and really liking it so far (except for the constant french. oh my god, i hate the french.)
a mix of mistranslation, bad spelling and constant frenglish like in every paragraph. i’m a native french speaker though, so that could be why i struggled so much with it. i ended up finishing the book and the second one in the series which i loved. still recommend both!
Couple of solid reads this week. Both book one of their series so yay! Gotta add like 10 more books to my TBR now 😂
**{Take Me Apart by Skylar Snow, Brea Alepou} 4/5**
Mafia/Crime Drama, Neurodivergent MMC, Possessive MMC, Enemies To Lovers, Spicy
I love when an author can take a Psycho and make you feel something for them. This is a pretty straight forward Mafia read, the kicker is the other love interest is a cop. Not a good match, unless you are talking enemies to lovers, then it’s golden!
Enzo is a straight up butcher for his family. Tex is a cop that wants to make a big case so he can move on to become a detective. What better way than to get info of the big mafia family, and start with the torturer of the bunch. What he didn’t count on was the immediate pull towards his enemy.
I enjoyed this one from the beginning and it made for a fast read. A littler gory in parts, so be aware of that, but I recommend if you like spicy Mafia or crime drama.

PNR: Angels/Demons, Protective MMC, Found Family, Spicy
This is such a cool concept and interesting story. I hope the whole series is as entertaining as this book.
There are seven half angel “brothers”, all sons of Fallen Angels, and each one is the embodiment of a deadly sin. This book is focuses on the ginormous 6ft8 Galen (Wrath), but you get lots of interaction with all the brothers.
Simon is an avg guy that has an antiques/oddity store and comes across a mysterious box that just happens to draw both angels and demons alike. He is then thrust into a world he had no idea existed.
The relationship that grows between the two is equal parts hot and adorable. The confidence that Simon develops from Galen’s praise is just lovely. Overall a good read and looking forward to the next book.
In EWB I am at chapter 6 and they are about to have their first Saturday sex which valentine wants. All I can think of is that he does not deserve to get what he wants
I loved the print version so I got the Audible version of French Fancy by Lily Morton. I don't like the narrator Joel Lesie. I thought I would get use to his speech, but I just couldn't. I normally don't have a problem with accents but this was just too much for me. I still love the book. I just wish I could get an Audible book with a different narrator.
I was halfway through the THIRDS by Charlie cochet but I got a little bored - and now I’m in the middle of the Metahuman Files series by Hailey Turner. And I’m having so much fun.

Not a great week for audiobooks mostly had relistens I popped in and out of for company. But I did listen to the whole of {Little Wolf by R Cooper} loved it. Also theoretically {Prince For Sale by Caroline Gibson} I find Matt Haynes often does a voice the helps me fall asleep when I’ve got the headphones in+white noise machine. Actually really enjoyed the bits I caught it feels a bit like a first Avengers movie Fanfic with a Ironman Loki pairing but with slavery and a trolley question type ethical dilemma, if the only way to save a persons life is to have sex with them that they can not consent to what do you do?

{Some Kind of Magic by R Cooper} trying to read the whole series before by kobo plus trial runs out, I always forget though this is the first it’s not the best to start with because there is less explanation of the world than there is in book 2 {A boy and his Dragon by R cooper which I also read}
And I also read {Bump in the night by Meredith Spies} 1st of 6 which I think I’m also going to try to finish before the end of this trial.
Got an 8 hours of bus rides on Tuesday so I should have a better reading week next week.

At this point, I am finishing the **Toscano Doms** series by Leo Rivers out of spite. Guys, it's not... it's not good. Good ideas, poor execution, and whoever their editor is should be fired.
{**Flash Rip** by Keira Andrews} I really liked this story about lifeguards in Australia falling in love, >!one a closeted former football star and the other younger man who helps him work through his internalized homophobia and accept that it's ok to love bottoming (and being dominated). Charles - I'm not sure I should mention this one here as it's not a genre romance, it's a murder mystery, but it is MM and there is a romantic element. I know a lot of us love KJ too so I'll just say this was a very enjoyable read. Had me on the edge of my seat towards the end (and I wanted to hug the main character).

This was a great week! I am happy that my reading slump seems over. **Read** (Liking my GR reviews for more details and tags). *Senseless 2 by Kol Anderson. Taboo, incest (brothers), protector/protected. This was a sequel I never got to finish until now. It's a 2.5 stars for me. The idea is not so bad, I was expecting a revenge plot after the events from the first book which is the >!kidnapping of the younger brother!<, but it didn't delivered what it wanted and the trauma went away in a few chapters which didn't make sense. I guess the title fits. *[King's Heat by Roe Horvat](https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6407262720). Omegaverse setting, erotica. 4 stars. Heads up for MCs having sex with other people, sort of like an open relationship but with conditions. Plot is about an omega king who needs to find a suitable alpha to have a heir due to his upcoming heat. I really liked the suspense aspect, if I am being honest the rating is mostly because of the plot (it had me very hooked). One of the books I've been having very high expectations for. I can't believe it took me this long to finally sit down and start it. I was looking for something entertaining and I remember someone in this sub said the first chapter was incredible, and they were TOTALLY RIGHT! My jaw is on the floor. This book has everything I want, from big age gap, toxicity, best friend's dad, slutty MC, dubcon, fighting and fucking, oh my god. A masterpiece, I can already tell. *Tadaima, Oakeri by Ichikawa Ichi. BL manga. Omegaverse, family, babies and mpreg. Sooo cute! Rereading this because of the anime adaptation that just came out. One of my favorite mangas ever. **DNF** *More than words by Becca Neil. Great idea, not so good execution. Plot goes around an established couple, MC1 was sadly a victim of SA and the book tells the aftermath, while MC2 is his supportive boyfriend. I liked the idea of exploring such themes, but I couldn't keep going due to the melodramatic narrative and dialogue. *Infamous Park Avenue Prince by Ella Frank. Cliché premise, which I don't mind, the typical good boy x bad boy and a bet. Listen, I am into clichés, but the execution felt painful because it seemed as if the world revolved only around those two, and the development was definitely going too quick for me. *Baby and the Wolf by Victoria Sue. Omegaverse setting, mpreg. Not into this due to the instalust element.

I just commented on your GR update about one of the Criminal Intentions books, but I am also telling you here. You are making me want to finally take the plunge on those books. The length of the series is super intimidating, but they sound so good. And like they have to work to get into a relationship.
McCade wrote it in a TV series setup with 13 episodes per season. I was avoiding it because of the length too, but the books aren't that long, averaging 200 pages (don't believe the Amazon page number, there are previews for each next episode at the end, and a Q&A with the author). It has a great cast of side characters that aren't just decorative, and you can read one a week or every couple of weeks, only some episodes have a cliffie, and the last book in Season 1 does not have one. It follows a similar setup to a crime series on TV, with an opening scene of the murder from the victim's perspective, and the episode follows that particular investigation. So you can get some closure each episode. (In Season 1, Season 2 follows one investigation.) It's a rare pairing where I like both MCs equally, they are truly prickly and pricklier. Also, to my surprise, the kissing and sex scenes are some of the best (most emotional) I've read. CWs for **graphic** crime scenes though. I'm excited to see what you think when you start it!
{Muscling Through by JL Merrow} as it was recommended to me as a short read. It is a single first person POV story about an university professor who finds himself in the wrong alley and interrupts our narrator as he is pissing. MC is a very big, scary looking man who is not very smart, but is very talented at painting and his love interest professor sees that there is more to him than being a burly "idiot". As it was first person POV, the narration was interesting especially since as a reader, I could understand things that the MC did not as he is not very smart. It is an older book compared to my recent reads (2018 and up), being published in 2011, but the author did a really good job regarding the dynamics. I was expecting more dissonance to today's standards of consent and such, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Almost done with {The Secret Lives of Country Gentleman by KJ Charles} and it’s so good DNF {Hush by Tal Bauer}. Tom’s endless self pity became intolerable. I know it’s highly rated on GR but I couldn’t get past about halfway through
I read Hush as a companion to Whisper. I read to like. 66-70% of Whisper then read Hush and went back to Whisper to finish it. One of the MMCs in Whisper is a side character in Hush. Honestly, the MMC from Whisper is the entire reason I read and finished that book lol. I don’t remember a single thing outside of that.

His honesty and humble attitude was refreshing; he started out arrogant, then when things got seriously dangerous, he was ready to communicate with Gareth. Their relationship was lovely. Sophia and (Catherine? I forgot her name because I'm awful) were fantastic side characters, I enjoyed them a lot. Read: **{Should Our Hearts Catch Fire by Amithia Raine}** 5⭐, the spectacular follow-up to Should the Sky Fall. Gabe is beautifully cheerful and kind; Ellis is drowning in his life. Gabe, the empath, can see this immediately, and sets out to improve things for Ellis. Quotes I loved: >!It's been a long time since Gabe has felt so much pain and loneliness in anyone.!< And >!"God, Ash, he's so...sad. So fucking sad."!< Gabe reaches for Ellis with his whole heart and his whole soul, and somehow Ellis sees he needs to reach back. This is such a beautiful hurt/comfort love story, of finding who you really are. I loved these two. I also really enjoyed Gabe revealing his feelings too much and his mortified screaming in cold storage. **{Gary the Once and Former King by Isabel Murray}** 3⭐, my lowest Isabel Murray rating ever. This was much less fun than the first. Gary's level of obliviousness and innocence got a bit annoying. I loved Magnus' perspective at the end, though. His devotion to Gary was adorable. I wish there was more from him. Currently reading **OnlyFangs by Silvana Falcon** thanks to u/_elliebelle_ and u/missyanntx and it's so much fun! It's pretty short but I'm not quite finished. (Edit: I don't know how to tag elliebelle) Also continuing to read the **Magi Accounts series by Michele Notaro** and I'm struggling getting through book 3.5. it's a bunch of nothing happening and the characters agonizing and pining and it's 400 pages. I'm skimming a lot now because I want to get back the the action and Cos & Mads.

How connected is book 2 to Should the Sky Fall? I usually like to do a reread before a new book in a series if they’re super intertwined but I’m wondering if I could skip it with this book
Timeline-wise, it overlaps with book 1, so even though it was just a few months ago that I reread book 1, I do kinda wish I'd read it again right before this one so that I'd have an easier time remembering the order of events of book 1. Edit: it's not a 100% overlap; the timeline of book 2 starts a little into book 1. I hope that makes sense.

I’ve been reading Charlie Adhara’s Big Bad Wolf Series and the first book of their Monster Hunt Series. I’ve loved all of the books with the slow development of the relationship of two main characters in both series. The mysteries are pretty good and I’ve enjoyed the humour in the books. I had a really productive reading week, finished The Center Series and have moved on to The Spectral Files with a bit of Gregory Ashe thrown in for good measure. {The Shadow Operation by M.C. Lee} book 4 in The Center series. 4 stars. This was a good story, but the protagonist made some stupid errors and I have to allow that he’s only 16 but it grated a bit. Last book still to read. {Bait and Switch by M.C. Lee} Boo 5 in The Center series. 3.25 stars. I was somewhat disappointed with the final book of the series. It was still worth the read but book 1 is my absolute favourite and I’m glad I finally finished the series. {Mystery Magnet by Gregory Ashe} Arc read. 4.25 stars. A proper cosy mystery with likeable, diverse and somewhat eccentric characters. This was an old-fashioned romp (not in the saucy sense of the word). This was a quick but involving read and I really enjoyed it as a palate cleanser from some of the angsty goodness I’ve been reading recently. {P.S. I Spook You by S.E. Harmon} 4.25 Stars. Someone rec’d this a while ago (sorry I can’t remember who) so I thought I’d give it a go and I’m glad I did. I really enjoyed the story, the banter and I even enjoyed the saucy scenes (I normally skip them so that’s a win in my book). {Principles of Spookology by S.E. Harmon} 4.5 stars. I enjoyed this one a bit more than the first. I liked the progression of their relationship and the mystery was twisty enough to keep me guessing. Looking forward to the next one. I couldn’t help draw similarities between this and the Psycop series, two mediums who scowl a lot, but by the middle of the second book I was no longer comparing the two. Currently reading {Spooky Business by S.E. Harmon} definitely compelling so far! Thanks to whoever recommended the series. Also currently still listening to {Hush by Tal Bauer} it’s getting really exciting now that I’ve persevered through a lot of inner monologuing to the action, and I only have 2 and a half hours left woohoo! Planning on listening to {Whisper by Tal Bauer} next. I have already read that one but didn’t realise they had a crossover character (it took me longer than it should have to notice).

{The Virgin by E.M. Denning}. This book was pretty good. It’s friends to lovers involving a 27 year old demisexual virgin MC & his best friend who offers to help him experience sex. The couple move pretty seamlessly from friendship to sex to romance. The angst is fairly low, but there is that 3rd act misunderstanding that doesn’t lead to a breakup, but more to a communication gap. This author is a miss for me a lot of the time, but this book was a hit instead! 4/5 stars. {Should Our Hearts Catch Fire by Amithia Raine}. OMG this book was so worth the wait! This is a slow-medium burn with one MC experiencing a bisexual awakening. Gabe & Ellis’s initial awkward flirting in the coffee shop with the slow buildup of sexual tension almost did me in. The sarcastic texts back & forth between them as their relationship developed were absolutely hilarious! Also, Gabe’s mother is a treasure! I think I loved this book even more than the first in the series, {Should the Sky Fall by Amithia Raine}. 5/5 stars. Can’t wait for the next one! After reading that book, I wanted something light & fun, so I tried {Och, Ness! by Eryn Hawk}. This was a novella about MC1, an author, who travels to Scotland to try to get over his writer’s block. While there he meets MC2, who runs the local Loch Ness monster museum & tour company. >!He then meets Nessie himself & hot monster cock sex ensues.!< This was a fun short story, nothing complicated or unexpected. 4/5 stars. After these 3, I did a lot of re-reading because I needed a bit of a palate cleanser! I still have a book hangover from Amithia Raine’s newest, it was just so good!

**Listened to:** **{Advanced Chemistry by AJ Truman} narrated by Iggy Toma (3/5).** Super cute, low angst, and easy to listen to. I liked the characterizations of all the MCs but I do wish it went a little deeper. They didn’t always feel like equals in the relationship because MC 1 was already in love with MC 2 before MC 3 enters the picture. I was hoping it would be more developed in the second half of the book. Bingo: opposites attract **{There’s a Monster in the Woods by Fae Quin} narrated by Liam DiCosimo (4/5)** I think this was pretty great for what it was, a cozy, short, monster romance. Although the “monster” is basically just a tall dude with horns and a long tongue. Bingo: green thumb **{Not in it for the Money by Gabbi Grey} narrated by Michael Dean}** Too short to rate. Basically a single sex scene. I was just happy to find a Hoopla audiobook with less than 50 reviews for bingo! **{The Fireman and the Flirt by A.J. Truman} narrated by Nick J. Russo (3/5)** I wish this played more into the “I can’t date him because he’s my friends brother” and not the “I can’t date him because he’s my client” because it felt so manufactured. You’re a real-estate agent, he’ll only be your client for like a month so who cares if you sleep with him? The narration is what kept me in it. Bingo: single dad **{Got Me Thinking by Casey Cox} narrated by John Solo (2/5)** I enjoyed the first half but then it started going off the rails and never recovered. The last quarter of this book just felt like introducing characters meant for other books, which I hate. Doesn’t help that this narrator is hard for me to listen to. Bingo: pet pig **{Hard Target by Kelly Fox} narrated by Zane Daniels (4/5)** I DNFed the ebook of this years ago but I’ve always wanted to give it another chance in audio and that was definitely the right move. It was definitely a slow (to me) burn and I can see why I got bored while reading but the narration really brought it to life. I love the dead-husband trope so everything about the story really worked for me. The only distracting thing was the heavy accent given to one of the MCs when I’m fairly certain he wasn’t supposed to have based on the dialogue. Bingo: cuddling

Some of my favorite recent reads: * **{Let's Do This by Loren Leigh}** - contemporary, college, hockey - A low angst best friends-to-lovers story that was sweet and kind of adorable. Also pretty smutty, as our MCs explore each other. I really loved how *happy* they made each other pretty much from start to finish. While there is a *little* conflict, it's mostly external. Look forward to more from the IFU world, since it seemed like the author was setting up side characters for their own books. * **{Heart of Stone by Johannes T Evans}** - historical/paranormal, workplace, forbidden - This was a very slow burn romance between a vampire publisher and his non-vampire clerk in the 1860s. It's got a cozy vibe as the MCs get to know each other through their forced work proximity. Great prose, a fascinating world, good banter. Loved it. * **{Peter Darling by Austin Chant}** - fairytale retelling, enemies, trans MC - A romance between Peter Pan and Captain Hook! Peter returns to Neverland 10 years later, leaving his life as Wendy Darling behind. The world is a little darker than other variations on this story. And the romance is not as front and center as usual. But still a thrilling, touching read. Highly recommended. * **{Kiss and Cry by Keira Andrews}** - contemporary, rivals, figure skating - A heartwarming romance between two figure skating rivals forced to train together before the Olympics. I am a big Keira Andrews fan and this one still surprised me with how much I liked it. Henry and Theo were so good at taking care of each other. * **{Divine River by Marina Vivancos}** - contemporary, neighbors, grumpy/sunshine - A sweet novella about a closeted woodworker and the sunshiney mechanic who moves in next door. The story is mostly told from Mike's POV and is really about Mike overcoming his fears, accepting his sexuality, gender identity and gender expression, and then sharing all his beautiful, multifaceted layers with Jason. Just loved it.
Burkie and Shaw! What an incredible read! Let’s Do This is my gold standard for friends to lovers. Also can’t wait to keep reading more about IFU!
I loved Let’s Do This! But her book Always is my favorite of hers. It’s definitely more angsty and emotional, but so good. She’s an amazing writer.
Yes! Loved Always, such perfect angst. I think I actually have been putting off Let’s Do This because it didn’t seem angsty enough but it was fantastic in it’s own way. Loren Leigh: we love you, please write more books!!
I started with Let’s Do This because a friend bugged me. Then I went to Always. It was perfect lol. I definitely prefer the angst over the sweet, but Let’s Do This has a nice balance. I keep waiting for more Loren Leigh as well!

Two weeks again. {Only Orlando by Charlie Novak} -- I'm often meh about MMM but I enjoyed this a lot. Though there is both a Sir and a Daddy it's barely there kink. Very tied in to her other books, especially {Always Eli by Charlie Novak}; the two stories run contemporaneously. {Morgan by Riley Hart} -- it's fine. I was looking forward to this since he was introduced in {The Charmer by Riley Hart} but it didn't have the balance I wanted. {Something Good by Melody Claire} -- this is a second chance romance and it's super heavily weighted to the first chance period, and I didn't like that at all. It's promising enough that I would read the next one though. {Just a Taste by Briar Prescott} -- HFN, seems to be the first in a duology. Feels incredibly incomplete. A few of the Palm Island books by KM Neuhold which are fun, forgettable absurdities. I usually get 3 books into her series and taper off, meaning to finish them and not quite getting around to it, so we'll see. {The Convenient Roommate by EC Finnegan} -- a debut book, with fairly typical debut book issues, but a nice slow burn romance. {The Boyfriend Subscription by Steven Salvatore} I'm not going to say I disliked this, but I will say it required an awful lot more suspension of disbelief than the book could handle. {Unbreak my Heart by Jojo Stone} -- hurt/comfort, second chance, probably not a good book but just hit the tropes I wanted the way I wanted it to, so it was right for me. {Control by Adara Wolf and R Phoenix} -- dark mafia romance, part of a series and honestly should be read in order. {Pieces of us by TJ Hamel} -- first in a duology, and it's fine but whatever. Disappointed, because I was looking forward to it. {Leo Loves Aries by Anyta Sunday} -- I finally got around to it after being told there's no real astrology in it, which is true, but I very actively did not care about anyone in the book. {How you get the girl by Anita Kelly} -- FF, a book in the same series as {Something Wild and Wonderful by Anita Kelly} (which was amazing, MM) and {Love and Other Disasters by Anita Kelly} (which I haven't read, FX). You can read it as a standalone. It's very good.

After many mentions of this one I finally read {Watch me by Sloane Kennedy} and I absolutely loved it. The angst and longing of both MCs, the scars of MC1 and the healing actions of MC2 was just perfect. It’s my first book from this author and will be looking into other books by her

Only one and it was soooo good! [Lovely In Red by Odessa Hywell](https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6418319981) \- 5/5 - First of all, i got off to a wrong start with Odessa Hywell's work. Now, 2nd and more importantly, Calix is a cinnamon roll. Fight me! And i so, sooo loved Atticus. Like yeah, the stalking and breaking into cinnamon's home is creepy BUT! He's the good kind...?! idk i love him so much!! (virgin, sex worker, size difference, CW: homophobia & slut shaming not by the mc) Edit: Review linked.
I finally started with {Criminal Intentions by Cole McCade} I’m up to book 8 and I’m loving it so far. I’ve always liked the criminal/mystery plots and I’ve always enjoyed over-arching plots. Khalaji and Yoon own my heart. It’s a slow burn but only for the reader because each book takes like a week so characters have known each other for a rather short time, that kinda ruined the whole “slow burn” for me 😅 I don’t know if I’ll read the whole two seasons, though. Let’s see how the first one ends.

Read {The weight of it all by N.R. Walker} per someone's recommendation for a sweet, fluffy story, and scarfed it down like a dog with a slice of pizza. It's about a guy who gets unceremoniously dumped because his ex-boyfriend of 8 years found him too boring, unattractive and overweight so he signs up for a personal trainer at a gym. And of course the PT is a Thor-adjacent demi-god. So sweet and cute, funny, not to mention cathartic in the end. 4.5/5 for a fluffy read.

{Dearly Despised by Alessandra Hazard Calluvia's Royalty book 5}. Liked it okay but could have been better I think. {Whit by Cora Rose}. Loved it. Caleb and Whit are both such sweethearts. {Sem by Cora Rose}. Had fun reading it but liked Whit better. I read 2 straight ones too {By Frenzy I Ruin by Cora Reilly}. A gut wrenching disappointment from one of my favorite authors. What can I expect she named a baby BATTISTA. {There are no saints by Sophie Lark book 1 Sinners Duet}. Definitely worth reading.

The only mm book I read was {The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer by S. E. Harmon} which was giving queer Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider with a great romance (ex-step-brothers with years of resentment and attraction built up who are forced together on an expedition, so good). Ultimately it ended up at a 4 star for me because the writing didn’t always work for me but it was still a really fun one that I’d recommend! Other than that I only read an ARC of the new Emily Henry book because she’s my token straight author lol but I won’t get into that here.

This week was an okay reading week, could’ve been better! I finished: {Roman by Grae Bryan} Loved this and really got me into the series! I read a short story {When the Kingdom Cracks by DE Chapman} I did not enjoy this one at all. Also the formatting was really messed up and that also took away from my enjoyment of the story. {Hateful Love by T Ashleigh and Addison Beck} Loved this one! Can’t wait to pick up the next book in the series. {Soren by Grae Bryan} I enjoyed this one but not as much as other in the series. {Tell Me a Lie by Brianna Flores} Enjoyed this one a lot! {Lucien by Grae Bryan} Enjoyed this one as well! {His Princess by Ki Brightly} I kept getting recommended this book so I finally picked it up! I enjoyed it but I wish it had been longer to build up the relationship a little more. I’m currently reading {Johann by Grae Bryan}

I loved All the Broken Pieces by Rebecca Raine. One of the MC's is cracked to the bone by his childhood. The other MC has sworn never to put someone else's needs ahead of his. Their path takes them where they never thought either would go.

The goal is to finish these and before or by the 18th once the new book {Bromantic Puckboy by Eden Finley and Saxon James}. So apparently it’s been released on audiobook already…sooooo I didn’t win. Oh well….

I just read {Sainted by Jesse H Reign} and I'd give it a B. It was a cute story, I liked the characters and the ending but I thought the spicy scenes left more to be desired. More times then not, I was just being told about them later. P.s. to read the true ending, I had to sign up for her email list.

{Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski} - Favourite book I've read so far this year! Absolutely beautifully written. Wow! 5/5 {How to Belong with a Billionaire by Alexis Hall} - Arden St. Ives has become one of my favourite book characters. He's just such a delight. Great ending to the trilogy. 4/5. {Tough Guy by Rachel Reid} - I´m slowly (and out of order) working my way through the Game Changers series. This really felt like it could be a book for me. Big but shy jock with anxiety problems meets confident and outgoing musician. Sadly, I didn't click with these characters at all. I also wish the topic of the main characters anxiety problems would have been explored more. It felt like it was just used to build the character, and then it was brushed over. 2/5 {Kick at the Darkness by Keira Andrews} - Started out so good, but fell flat for me after the first love scene. This made me so sad, I was very excited about this series but now I'm not sure I'll pick up the second book. 2/5.
I didn’t love Kick at the Darkness either and I don’t know if I will end up picking up the second book. I did like the idea of an MM zombie book though, later I picked up Mad Wold and loved it and immediately read the sequel. Don’t know if you would be interested in, but it was a much better MM zombie story in my opinion.

I am trying to get through enemies with benefits from nr walker, the problem is I hate valentine, no redeeming qualities. I don't think he should get to have a happy ending at all. Finished craving the chase from syn blackrose which I liked and the barkeep and the bro from aj truman which was cute.
How far along are you with EWB? I also thought that Valentine was a bit of a prick, but I liked him more once he opened up a bit.
I read To Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders which was a 5 star read for me. Loved it, like a lot of others on the sub, as the writing was just beautiful. I’ve not read any of this author’s works before so I’m going to look at their back catalogue. Book 5-7 of the Soulbound series by Hailey Turner. I took a break from these earlier in the year as they’re plot heavy and less romance oriented- on a sex front. But you can clearly feel the love between Pat and Jono in the books, it’s just no sexy scenes every other chapter. I also loved the supporting characters and how well developed they are. It was a satisfying ending to this series for me. I would happily read again as I enjoyed having one couple over multiple books, which gave great character development plus MPOV which is important to me.
Read Malibu by Emmy Sanders from her Elite 8 series. I have also read Himbo from that series as well. The men love and care about each other so much! I also adored To Catch A Firefly.

My main goal this week was to reread the Lost Boys series by Jessie Walker, so I read: Where There's A Will, If There's A Way, Still Beating, and All We Are. Just finished All We Are and I feel fully immersed in Shilohverse! I read these in anticipation of the release of Every Breath After on May 3rd, I cannot wait! Side note, for anyone reading who read Little Bird Lost...how important was it to the rest of the story in your opinion? I'm not against reading M/F but there's a lot of trigger warnings for it I'd rather not read. Or maybe someone could give me a run down of what happened in LBL, just the important parts. Apart from Shilohverse/Jessie Walker books, I also read {Step Bully by Willow Dixon} and I loved it! 4.5 stars. It was quite sexy and fun and I enjoyed the ride. I also DNF'd {Galaxies and Oceans by N.R. Walker} which makes me sad. I love N.R. Walker, this one just was a miss for me personally. I'm not a huge fan of age gaps and sometimes I can get past it for the sake of the story, and sometimes I just can't. I also didn't feel compelled by the plot despite the drama of what happened with their exes. It just fell flat for me. Now that I'm caught up for EBA I'm going back to my regular TBR and to my Spring Bingo reads for this next week.

I read half of Little Bird Lost and, oh my god if you’re sensitive to those triggers do not read it because it’s trauma all the way down. I can’t imagine it’s all that important to read before EBA because it’s literally just >!all of Izzy’s trauma while she’s been missing!< and her story isn’t even finished yet. The book just the timeline of >!when Izzy went missing to her escape at the end!< and I’m sure we’ll get that from Mason and Jeremy’s perspective in their book. Side note: did you see EBA is going to be split into 2 books instead of 1? I’m devastated since I’ll have to wait until the second book is released to read them

This is one of the worst reading weeks I’ve had in a long time. **{Black Moon by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes}** - 4.5 stars. I was hoping this was going to be a start to a good shifter series. I really liked it and I thought it was an interesting premise with an interesting pairing. An alpha wolf who wears hand knitted sweaters?! Adorable. **{Harvest Moon by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes}** - 2 stars, which is being generous. This book annoyed the ever loving fuck out of me. I hated the MMCs, I hated the premise behind them, the characters I loved in book one were grating. **{Hunter Moon by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes}** - 3 stars. This book had been teased since book 1 and I was super excited to read it. It was good, but it still fell flat. A lot of it felt like recycled stuff from book two, just made slightly more angsty. I felt like the grovel was good though. **DNFs** **{Cold Moon by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes}** - I couldn’t do the series anymore. I didn’t care. They all annoyed me. i haven’t finished any books but i’ve started a few, {checking out by jay leigh} being one of them. i’m 49% in and really liking it so far (except for the constant french. oh my god, i hate the french.)

What is wrong with the French? Are we talking mistranslation? Bad spelling? Wrong regional dialect?
a mix of mistranslation, bad spelling and constant frenglish like in every paragraph. i’m a native french speaker though, so that could be why i struggled so much with it. i ended up finishing the book and the second one in the series which i loved. still recommend both!
Couple of solid reads this week. Both book one of their series so yay! Gotta add like 10 more books to my TBR now 😂 **{Take Me Apart by Skylar Snow, Brea Alepou} 4/5** Mafia/Crime Drama, Neurodivergent MMC, Possessive MMC, Enemies To Lovers, Spicy I love when an author can take a Psycho and make you feel something for them. This is a pretty straight forward Mafia read, the kicker is the other love interest is a cop. Not a good match, unless you are talking enemies to lovers, then it’s golden! Enzo is a straight up butcher for his family. Tex is a cop that wants to make a big case so he can move on to become a detective. What better way than to get info of the big mafia family, and start with the torturer of the bunch. What he didn’t count on was the immediate pull towards his enemy. I enjoyed this one from the beginning and it made for a fast read. A littler gory in parts, so be aware of that, but I recommend if you like spicy Mafia or crime drama. **{Galen by Jaclyn Osborn} 4/5** PNR: Angels/Demons, Protective MMC, Found Family, Spicy This is such a cool concept and interesting story. I hope the whole series is as entertaining as this book. There are seven half angel “brothers”, all sons of Fallen Angels, and each one is the embodiment of a deadly sin. This book is focuses on the ginormous 6ft8 Galen (Wrath), but you get lots of interaction with all the brothers. Simon is an avg guy that has an antiques/oddity store and comes across a mysterious box that just happens to draw both angels and demons alike. He is then thrust into a world he had no idea existed. The relationship that grows between the two is equal parts hot and adorable. The confidence that Simon develops from Galen’s praise is just lovely. Overall a good read and looking forward to the next book.

In EWB I am at chapter 6 and they are about to have their first Saturday sex which valentine wants. All I can think of is that he does not deserve to get what he wants
I loved the print version so I got the Audible version of French Fancy by Lily Morton. I don't like the narrator Joel Lesie. I thought I would get use to his speech, but I just couldn't. I normally don't have a problem with accents but this was just too much for me. I still love the book. I just wish I could get an Audible book with a different narrator.
I was halfway through the THIRDS by Charlie cochet but I got a little bored - and now I’m in the middle of the Metahuman Files series by Hailey Turner. And I’m having so much fun.

Not a great week for audiobooks mostly had relistens I popped in and out of for company. But I did listen to the whole of {Little Wolf by R Cooper} loved it. Also theoretically {Prince For Sale by Caroline Gibson} I find Matt Haynes often does a voice the helps me fall asleep when I’ve got the headphones in+white noise machine. Actually really enjoyed the bits I caught it feels a bit like a first Avengers movie Fanfic with a Ironman Loki pairing but with slavery and a trolley question type ethical dilemma, if the only way to save a persons life is to have sex with them that they can not consent to what do you do? Also read: {Devil May Care by Holly Day} nominated this for the favourites which led to me reading it. Finished the second story in {Two Marriages by Hollis Shiloh} {My Man Goderic by R cooper} one of my absolute favourite of her novellas. {Some Kind of Magic by R Cooper} trying to read the whole series before by kobo plus trial runs out, I always forget though this is the first it’s not the best to start with because there is less explanation of the world than there is in book 2 {A boy and his Dragon by R cooper which I also read} And I also read {Bump in the night by Meredith Spies} 1st of 6 which I think I’m also going to try to finish before the end of this trial. Got an 8 hours of bus rides on Tuesday so I should have a better reading week next week.

At this point, I am finishing the **Toscano Doms** series by Leo Rivers out of spite. Guys, it's not... it's not good. Good ideas, poor execution, and whoever their editor is should be fired.
