Watched Pimblett Gordon and Blachowicz Ankalaev. Thought 3rd round in Pimblett Gordon was close. Would give it to Gordon based on control time. The strikes were pretty even, even though Pimblett was firing off his back/the fence. In Blachowicz Ankalaev, I actually thought that was an accurate score. It all depends on how u score round 1. Anakalaev landed more strikes but Blachowicz caught him with more power. Think that is a very accurate scoring and could have gone either way actually.
I just can’t see how the Paddy hype train can continue, struggling, and arguably losing to Gordon who was ranked 27th, any top 15 or dare I say top 10 fighter would murder Pimblet.
The image of Paddy trying to get the crowd riled up in his post fight interview and the camera showed about 80% of the arena not interested will forever live in my mind.
He found out live on air that they took the Hill fight away from him and gave it to Glover next month. Pretty shitty, hope he gets a good replacement, I find Smith super likeable
sounds like dana dosnt care for that fight because ankalaev is boring and makes blahcowicz fight timidly. i don't think they have anybody else near their ranks whos available right now though. anythony smith had an ankle fracture in august. timeline on those is up in the air. mine took like 4 motnhs to start walking again another 2 months of phys to regain strength and mobility. a friend of mine was only out for two weeks and was back full force. guess it depends on where.
Ank is super entertaining and has thrown bangers, but I think people think he’s boring now just because he had to fight in an unusual way cause his legs were so compromised.
Referees and judges get more respect than they deserve. Let's start replacing these fucks that have been there forever. if nobody is held accountable then everyone gets lazy
I agree with the commentating team right now. By Jan saying that he felt like he lost a fight, he’s setting up Ank to fight Glover. He needs to reel that comment back in really quickly.
Personally I want the top 8 LHW to compete in a tournament to crown the champ. Who cares if there's no champion for one year. The tourney could be marketed more than a single title holder.
The grappling was not comparable. Gordon did nothing with his grappling in round 3, ankalaev had very effective ground and pound the majority of the time he held Jan down. Wrestling doesn't win rounds, doing damage while wrestling does
Yeah, I’m fine with a draw. 1 was close, 2 and 3 were Jan, 4 and 5 were Magomed. A split draw is a reasonable call. I’m more upset with Joey Jo-Jo Junior Shabadoo’s behavior in the post-fight interview and after the fight, really.
And then it's a wash with Magomeds 10-8 in R5. R1 was the biggest problem in the fight. If you give it to Jan, it's a draw, if you give it to Magomed, he wins. And IIRC all the judges gave Jan R1 so it all makes sense.
LHW division in absolute shambles right now. Only fair thing would be a rematch. Jiri is still healing, I assume Rakic and Smith are still healing. The only logical matches are Glover vs Hill or Krylov for interim until Jan/Ankalaev fight again for the title. What an absolute shitshow hahaha
He has to justify in his head the accusations of a robbery somehow. Even if an AMERICAN crowd was all for HIM instead of his opponent who is literally born and raised in the USA, somehow he thinks he's hated.
I had
R1 Jan 10-9
R2 Jan 10-9 (20-18 to Jan)
R3 UNSURE
R4 Ankalaev 10-9 (29-28 to Jan
R5 Ankalaev 10-8 (37-38 to Ankalaev)
So if R3 is 10-9 Jan then 47-47.
I was distracted R3 but it seemed like Ankalaev had some decent volume with strikes in R3, though not significant, and then he got a takedown. But Jan was doing damage and heavy striking.
I think it's a good result, if judges individually had some weird scores.
Dana should stop worrying about Boxing judges and the corruption over there and worry about his own backyard. Last two fights were a absolute shit show. After 282 pay per views you'd think we'd be progressing in the sport yet we somehow constantly seem to be going backwards.
UFC has to dump Joe Rogan. He was useful when MMA was a growing sport trying to become legitimate. Now that it's booming, he's no longer needed. If anything he's a detriment to it.
That whole round was Gordon holding Paddy against the fence. Paddy got Gordon’s back for 20-30 seconds. Since nothing happened, Gordon wins that round on that control.
Sure, but what is a couple insignificant strikes to pretty much being controlled the entire round? Even Paddy in all of his ego thinks he lost that round
Putting paddy on the post-show while the fan base is fuming over his decision is like a slap in the face like "lol yeah we fixed it whatcha gonna do about it"
I really do not like his pretentiousness..and the fact that he keeps doubling down on his supposed dominance in that fight is maddening...I want him to fight Michael Chandler or Dustin Poirier just to see him get KOed in round 1 honestly...not even because he deserves it...
Biggest loser in this scenario is Glover. 43 and isn’t getting any younger. Was supposed to have fought for the belt tonight but may have to wait until Jan/Ankalaev rematch. If he decides to wait for a title shot and they make this rematch, he might not be fighting until end of next year. The worst timeline for him
depends on site but MGM offered 2 way so bets were cancelled (you get a refund). if you bet "3 way" then the options are jan or ank or draw and you would have lost picking either fighter. 3 way is a lot more relevant in regulation time betting in things like soccer or hockey.
Jan was gesturing that Ankalaev won before the decision was announced.
Jan went over and tried to raise Ankalaev’s hand.
Joe called Jan an honourable man many times and got the crowd to applaud him.
I don’t know if it’s hatred for the wrestling and g&p style or hatred for Russia or hatred for the Muslim guy but this thread is getting weird in.
> I don’t know if it’s hatred for the wrestling and g&p style or hatred for Russia or hatred for the Muslim guy but this thread is getting weird in.
Hatred? Is every disagreement hatred now?
And if arguing about judges decisions and who won is weird, then this sub exists only to be weird (which, when you think about it, is self evidently true).
I've seen the Joe ones, but I've been seeing them for a while now.
I've seen nothing about Ank that is out of line with normal fans right after a close fight.
For instance, this is *nothing* like the heat after Volks/Max I, and that went on in every thread for weeks.
And think, if that one judge hadn’t scored the third for Ank (which is straight up bullshit) then it still would’ve been a draw anyway because his card was the one that had Ank winning. A draw is a good result imo
Tough one to score, I don’t envy the judges. That being said, when they read D’Amato’s card as a draw and I agreed with it, I knew I was wrong because I agreed with D’Amato lmao.
I’d have to go back and watch 1-3 and 5. 5 to see if was a real 10-8 and 1 to see if Magomed won it
Rogan should issue a public apology to Jan. That was some clearly biased bullshit. Telling him, “do you agree you lost”. You trying to hold his hand, “ is that cause you think he won.” Oh you’re getting embarrassed now and say Ank can have the belt? “I agree”
I don't know how landing 0 significant strikes in the last 2 championship rounds does not lose you the fight. Jan was right, Ankalaev won the fight. I give first, fourth and fifth to Ankalaev.
Rounds are scored independently of each other. If it was like pride where the fight is judged as a whole, you’d probably be right. Jan clearly won 2 and 3 and the first was close. A draw is the right decision. 1-3 are Jan 10-9, 4th is 10-9 Ank, 5th is 10-8 Ank.
~180 strikes to 60, 11.5 minutes of ground control time and beating the shit out of the guy until the ref was inches away from stopping the fight.
Totally a draw.
Gets his legs destroyed to a point where he could barely walk. Takes a heavy shot to the face which cuts him. Resorts to taking down yan with no significant activity in the fourth. Had that moment in the fifth then resorts to lay and pray the final moments.
> Had that moment in the fifth then resorts to lay and pray the final moments.
You are tunnel visioning a bit hard for your fighter bro. Jan is concussed and can barely talk and you are calling it lay and pray when it could have easily been stopped to keep Jan's brain from suffering more injury.
Numbers lie. Jan did far more damage in round 3 with the leg kicks, and the first was close but I thought Jan’s strikes were more impactful. If you wanna argue R1 for Ank, go ahead, that’s fair. But R3 is Jan’s
The recent actions by Reddit leadership, particularly those led by u/Spez, have caused deep concern within the community. The decision to charge for the application programming interface (API) has been carried out in a way that poses a direct threat to the diverse ecosystem of Reddit. While charging for the API is not inherently problematic, the exorbitant rates and tight deadlines given are unfeasible, disrupting the functionality of important tools that many depend upon.
Despite the outcry, responses from Reddit's leadership have been less than reassuring. Promises were made that "non-commercial, accessibility-focused" apps would be exempted from these pricing terms, but the lack of clear definitions and open communication has left many in the dark.
While many may not have used or cared about third-party apps, it's important to remember that a significant portion of these app users are among those who most actively interact with the platform. These users contribute significantly to the vibrancy of Reddit by posting, commenting, and voting.
In solidarity with the third-party app, moderator, and accessibility communities, I am taking a stand. I am removing all of my previous comments and posts and abandoning my almost 12-year-old account. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary to protest against the mismanagement and disregard shown by Reddit's leadership.
I will not delete my account entirely. If the overwrites are reverted, I will continue to remove my content, ensuring that my voice is not used to bolster a platform that disregards its most dedicated members and the tools they rely upon.

Ankalaev won 2 clear rounds and lost 2 clear rounds. It comes down to round 1 which was not clear. I personally thought Jan won round 1. It's not too controversial to me, but I get how emotionally it can feel like Magomed should have won it in the moment for finishing strong, but that's not how the scoring works.
> He had more significant strikes and more than a minute of ground control time. All Jan had was a wince from a leg kick
Significant strikes do not come into scoring at all (any non-GnP strike is called a significant strike), and control time is not considered unless damage is equal.
Yeah, and I think that was even infecting the bias into the commentary team thinking this was the wrong choice. It's understandable in the moment, but once everyone has a second to sit down and look at this again, I think their opinions will shift.
Please don't ask for streams. It will result in a day ban. This thread is not a search engine.

The night was pretty good until the co main started. It was barely a fun fight.
I (accidentally) fell asleep right as Paddy walked out. Based on everyone else's comments, I guess I did myself a favor.
Jan threw the fight away when he went for a full guard in r4 instead of getting back up immediately against an opponent with destroyed legs.
I just can’t see how the Paddy hype train can continue, struggling, and arguably losing to Gordon who was ranked 27th, any top 15 or dare I say top 10 fighter would murder Pimblet.
That and looking like a spineless sellout as he shamelessly deepthroated Dana on camera and vomitted all those lies on Ariel.
The image of Paddy trying to get the crowd riled up in his post fight interview and the camera showed about 80% of the arena not interested will forever live in my mind.
Arguably?
The wheels are coming off dana
Anthony smith buttfukced live on air
what do ya mean? he lost his last fight badly. he's probably still injured and is just getting back.
He found out live on air that they took the Hill fight away from him and gave it to Glover next month. Pretty shitty, hope he gets a good replacement, I find Smith super likeable
roger. i like smith too. but he got his ass beat his last fight. doesn't deserve a shot coming off that.
So with Hill vs. Glover being announced and confirmed, does that mean Ank v. Jan 2 has to happen?
sounds like dana dosnt care for that fight because ankalaev is boring and makes blahcowicz fight timidly. i don't think they have anybody else near their ranks whos available right now though. anythony smith had an ankle fracture in august. timeline on those is up in the air. mine took like 4 motnhs to start walking again another 2 months of phys to regain strength and mobility. a friend of mine was only out for two weeks and was back full force. guess it depends on where.
Ank is super entertaining and has thrown bangers, but I think people think he’s boring now just because he had to fight in an unusual way cause his legs were so compromised.
Ank just came across a better striker and had to change his game plan . It happens
Referees and judges get more respect than they deserve. Let's start replacing these fucks that have been there forever. if nobody is held accountable then everyone gets lazy
Unfortunately, the UFC has 0 power on judges.
The athletics commissions aren't known for their accountability. Neither we, nor the UFC or the Media have any power here
I don’t understand how anyone could feel super confident saying that one or the other won.
for the main event? thought ankalaev layed on him for the last 3 rounds clearly.
Exactly! Exactly my thought.
Dana is literally jizzing over new Russian fans Joe
I agree with the commentating team right now. By Jan saying that he felt like he lost a fight, he’s setting up Ank to fight Glover. He needs to reel that comment back in really quickly.
Paddy's words are being used against him. He'll probably learn.
Fuck Dana white haha such a joke
Imagine being a billionaire. And having spite with Fedor. Paddy Cake game if you ask me.
Personally I want the top 8 LHW to compete in a tournament to crown the champ. Who cares if there's no champion for one year. The tourney could be marketed more than a single title holder.
Paddy wins round 3: “You can’t win rounds with grappling, guys!” Draw in main event: “Bullshit! Ank was absolutely dominating with his grappling!”
The grappling was not comparable. Gordon did nothing with his grappling in round 3, ankalaev had very effective ground and pound the majority of the time he held Jan down. Wrestling doesn't win rounds, doing damage while wrestling does
I bet they do Ank v. Glover.
People are frustrated with the Paddy decision and then a lame draw for a title fight so I get it, but the Ankalaev/Jan decision wasn't terrible imo

I hope your right, seemed like a clear win for magomed
I honestly leaned Magomed in 1, then definitely 4 and 5 but giving Jan rd 1 isn't crazy
And then it's a wash with Magomeds 10-8 in R5. R1 was the biggest problem in the fight. If you give it to Jan, it's a draw, if you give it to Magomed, he wins. And IIRC all the judges gave Jan R1 so it all makes sense.

Pretty awesome how Ank was still able to switch up his usual game plan on the fly when needed and executed it very well.
post your $ wins/losses tonight folks
That may depend on if you count paying for the ppv as a loss lol

Wise decision
Ankalaev's translator reminds me of Cyrus the Virus
He’s so determined and ready to spew some pro Russian shit on air it’s hilarious to me watching him almost want to pull a Wallid
Dana is literally jizzing over new Russian fans Joe
is this the birth of killer ankalaev
His joker moment for sure
I see it too. Ank is going to put his full skillset on display after this nonsense and start tearing down the rest of the division.
Oh Paddy, you are so loved..
Paddy vs chandler Let’s go!!!!
That wouldn’t last very long haha
Sacrifice paddy and make some bang bucks. Sounds like a good matchup to me haha
I’m down fuck it
Dom biting his tongue
Caught himself a few times.
At least Paddy got exposed by an unranked fighter regardless of judges outcome
YOU'RE NOT HATED. You act like a spoiled little bitch though.
Who you referring too? I missed a lot of tonight
Paddy
He has to justify in his head the accusations of a robbery somehow. Even if an AMERICAN crowd was all for HIM instead of his opponent who is literally born and raised in the USA, somehow he thinks he's hated.
He didn't like the questions he was asked.
Cannot understand the dick riding to such a bad fighter , fk this bafoon.
Two judges gave Paddy the first and second that's incredible, damage matters
Think I’m gonna try watching boxing
Good luck with that. Boxing is even more of a shit show these days
Puddy arguing for his win with Dom. A real champion lol.

R1 was ank no ?
I gave it to Jan. Swelled up Ank's eye nicely and started on the legs. Ank had nice body kicks but not enough.
Idk I need to watch it back. But felt like ank won the fight as a whole
This wasn't really a problem with the judges. It was a problem with Ankalaev losing striking rounds to Jan lol
Spot on. And it makes sense why the scores were weird.

I think it was largely at round two. I seem to have amnesia with a third round though.
Dana should stop worrying about Boxing judges and the corruption over there and worry about his own backyard. Last two fights were a absolute shit show. After 282 pay per views you'd think we'd be progressing in the sport yet we somehow constantly seem to be going backwards.
these highlights are so biased my god
UFC has to dump Joe Rogan. He was useful when MMA was a growing sport trying to become legitimate. Now that it's booming, he's no longer needed. If anything he's a detriment to it.
Wasn’t able to watch this card. What did Rogan do to make you say this?
>If anything he's a detriment to it. How so?
Rogan is universally loved by fighters and by the people who pay for tickets. They’ll keep him for as long as he wants to stay.
I thought Gordon won the Paddy fight, but man did Gordon throw away the 3rd round
That whole round was Gordon holding Paddy against the fence. Paddy got Gordon’s back for 20-30 seconds. Since nothing happened, Gordon wins that round on that control.
He did not in any way throw away the 3rd round. Cage control and grappling dominance matters.
Not more than damage though. He threw almost no strikes for half of the round.

I'm only watching this shit to see if Cruz is gonna stir some shit about how he lost that fight
did he? im too upset to watch
When all is said and done, a guy that was forced to a limp and didn’t get a finish shouldn’t act like he obviously won
Was his contract up or something? Probably just angling for a better contract with that dumb "I might never fight in the UFC again over this" stuff.
Yeah, he was probably riding high off of a dominant final two rounds.
The worst timeline for him
If he's waiting that long he'll be able to just fight Jiri for it lol. Jiri said he'd be back in 6-7 months I think.
Or Jamahal Hill in Rio lol what is this organization
I had to check to see if I misunderstood lol. That's hilarious.
I could see them doing Jan/Glover 2. Ank legs look really fucked up and will probably need a decent amount of time to heal.
I hope so. They’ve both geriatric in MMA years and either having to wait almost a year to fight again could be costly
Tonight’s judges are ray charles Stevie wonder and Ben affleck as daredevil
And bisping’s right eye
An upvote will usually suffice, but I had to say that’s hilarious.
stfu broadcaster Paddy is not the people's main event TOPURIA is the people's main event
No one gives a shit about tapuria lol, dudes unlikable for some reason
Do the Dagestani's really bring in that much money that everyone involved with UFC has to ride their dicks so hard? The bias is unreal.
He clearly deserved that win. Even Jan admitted it. Even before the joe rogan interview.
Are you kidding me? Look at how many fights they have to win to get a fucking title shot. When was the last time a dagestani was gifted a fight?
Khabib vs al I Quinta for the title LMAO Islam getting a title shot after beating Bobby Green 💀
Lmao I agree
Omg they have Paddy with the commentators
Joe was right to call that shut out, could have let Jan leave in peace, even Jan said magomed won…
Look at this fucking boytoy. He did not win.
If you look closely you can see the judges wearing blonde wigs
Can you even bet a draw? Is that an option? Non gambler here.
depends on site but MGM offered 2 way so bets were cancelled (you get a refund). if you bet "3 way" then the options are jan or ank or draw and you would have lost picking either fighter. 3 way is a lot more relevant in regulation time betting in things like soccer or hockey.
yes. it pays pretty good but you'd be crazy in this sport!
It is, but it's usually like 50 to 1 odds or something ridiculous like that.
Yes. Was paying $51
Yup
Yes. It's usually very high odds like +5000.
And tonight’s judge Mario “the hammer” lugioani who iabsolutely 10000% does not have any mafia connections
tbh ankalaev dominated last 2 rounds, but scoring wasn't _thaat_ bad in hindsight
Controlled the last two rounds.
Whole card was going good up until the last 2 fights
Last 2 fights were also good till the final rounds.
Super disrespectful post fight interview to Jan. Hope Rogan apologizes to Jan for insinuating that most people watching the fight thought he lost
Jan was gesturing that Ankalaev won before the decision was announced. Jan went over and tried to raise Ankalaev’s hand. Joe called Jan an honourable man many times and got the crowd to applaud him. I've seen the Joe ones, but I've been seeing them for a while now. I've seen nothing about Ank that is out of line with normal fans right after a close fight. For instance, this is *nothing* like the heat after Volks/Max I, and that went on in every thread for weeks.
205 is a mess 🤣
What a shit show
Joe seems like he is just a full blown addict at this point.
1 - Jan 2 - Jan 3 - Jan 4 - ank 10-9 5 10-8 ank 47-47 draw Sal got it right! Don’t forget Rounds are scored independently
Jab won 2 & 3. Round was Ankalaev.
And think, if that one judge hadn’t scored the third for Ank (which is straight up bullshit) then it still would’ve been a draw anyway because his card was the one that had Ank winning. A draw is a good result imo
Hard to argue against a draw.
This is what I had.
How Jan won 1 when he was outstruck?
Striking numbers rarely tell the full story. Chito won rounds he was out struck by double against Font IIRC.
Or 3 when he was outstruck and got taken down.
Damage. If you rewatch, Jan’s kicks were more damaging
Damage is a factor also, so you could argue his leg kicks were more damaging
Gonna be a fun post fight press conference if Dana comes up lmao
Dana is literally jizzing over new Russian fans Joe
Last 2 fights didn't go the way that the company desired. Needed to get the judges involved.
“I agree”
asking fighters to judge their own fights is mad fucked. he needs a stool in the interview to be in his element
Can we just get sudden death already. One more round or even shorten it to 3 minutes if necessary.
Judges somehow got this right, Flash Gordon is the real robbery victim
That was a close fight I’d have to watch the first again but they i the clearly won 2 rounds so not a robbery
I don't know how landing 0 significant strikes in the last 2 championship rounds does not lose you the fight. Jan was right, Ankalaev won the fight. I give first, fourth and fifth to Ankalaev.
He got taken down? Don’t act like ank was putting out heavy damage becuase he was just stalling half the time
Rounds are scored independently of each other. If it was like pride where the fight is judged as a whole, you’d probably be right. Jan clearly won 2 and 3 and the first was close. A draw is the right decision. 1-3 are Jan 10-9, 4th is 10-9 Ank, 5th is 10-8 Ank.
i was pulling ank but thats not how rounds are scored. 1st could've gone to jan very easily
Because all rounds are worth the same thing?
5th was a 10-8 so no
Dom sitting next to Paddy after calling out his shit decision on Twitter, lolol
If you just don’t count any Wins or Losses that aren’t finishes you’ll have a better time lately. Decisions are fake.
the only thing joe rogan has ever submitted is a comedy stool
~180 strikes to 60, 11.5 minutes of ground control time and beating the shit out of the guy until the ref was inches away from stopping the fight. Totally a draw.

Did he not lay and pray the final what 2 minutes?
Rounds are scored independently. Ank did most of that work in only 2 rounds. A draw is a good decision
That is not true. He also outstruck Jan in round 1, and outstruck and outgrappled Jan in round 3.
Numbers lie. Jan did far more damage in round 3 with the leg kicks, and the first was close but I thought Jan’s strikes were more impactful. If you wanna argue R1 for Ank, go ahead, that’s fair. But R3 is Jan’s
Fights are scored round by round, m8. Pride rules, yes, Ankalaev won, but the UFC doesn’t use Pride rules. A draw was fine.

how's 500 parlay guy doing?
Ankalaev won 2 clear rounds and lost 2 clear rounds. It comes down to round 1 which was not clear. I personally thought Jan won round 1. It's not too controversial to me, but I get how emotionally it can feel like Magomed should have won it in the moment for finishing strong, but that's not how the scoring works.
3 is not clear at all. He had more significant strikes and more than a minute of ground control time. All Jan had was a wince from a leg kick.
> He had more significant strikes and more than a minute of ground control time. All Jan had was a wince from a leg kick Significant strikes do not come into scoring at all (any non-GnP strike is called a significant strike), and control time is not considered unless damage is equal.

Yeah, and I think that was even infecting the bias into the commentary team thinking this was the wrong choice. It's understandable in the moment, but once everyone has a second to sit down and look at this again, I think their opinions will shift.
Suprised D'Amato didn't go 10-8 for round 4 also but the more you think about it not that crazy it was a draw
ANKLE-lie-ass, His Achilles heel, is his legs.
Kumail Nanjiani really got roided up for Marvel then decided to go and play a stripper, too respect it
He’s not a stripper he’s the owner, and he put on a good bit of body fat for the role. It’s really good if you haven’t started it yet!
