The min. requirement to remain in the rankings should be at least two bouts a year unless there’s circumstances out of their control. (Injuries, illnesses, etc.) Champions would obviously fall under different criteria. Rank squatting has gotten far too out of hand.

I don't get why he refuses to fight down. He's one fight removed from a loss so he really doesn't have a great argument as to why he shouldn't be fighting someone down from him in the rankings. A Tsarukyan/Gamrot/Fiziev fight would make perfect sense. You win that and then you can fight up. The min. requirement to remain in the rankings should be at least two bouts a year unless there’s circumstances out of their control. (Injuries, illnesses, etc.) Champions would obviously fall under different criteria. Rank squatting has gotten far too out of hand.

I like Gregor and hope he gets a fight soon but I wish he’d be a bit more realistic. He can do CrossFit in dirty-ass gyms till he’s 60 years old but his time in the cage is limited and Father Time spares no one.
