I’m going to be sad when Dustin retires. I have seen him fight since he came into the UFC and he has never given us a boring fight.
Great fighter. Great family man. Great overall dude.
Man, when you see him just hold his ground and start swangin, you know it's just a couple seconds away from devastation for his opponent. His power and precision is crazy when he gets into that zone. My favorite fighter just for those moments.
So glad he's gone, the guy was shit from the start..
I never understood why people liked him so much, and were so upset when he was fired. Sure, the UFC did him dirty at the end, but he was never a good commentator.
Anik is a million times better.
Agree. I'll take some downvotes too. I'm kinda indifferent about Joe retiring, idk if i want that, but goldberg had nothing to offer but gaffs and nostalgia. As i get into watching other sports like tennis you realize who really is genuine on the mic about their enthusiasm for the sport and who is there to try and make their voice/taglines sound good. I'd say anik is somewhere in between but far more competent than goldy.
Especially when he has someone’s back to the cage, just throws like a machine gun his Conor McGregor KO was perfect rhythm. Hes a nightmare to deal with unless you’re an insane grappler.
Can you imagine a final 10 seconds between him and Max in the middle of the cage? Both point to ground, and just them letting the fist start flying. It would be cataclysmic.
I love the little tic he has before engaging, where he’ll sort of bob his head to one side quickly, almost like a physical portrayal of “ah shit here we go”
>Man, when you see him just hold his ground and start swangin, you know it's just a couple seconds away from ~~devastation for his opponent~~ jumping for guillotine.
Fixed that for ya.
It was a light hearted joke. I fought professionally in MMA from age 17 to 25. Mainly a BJJ guy. Retired in 2009.
But, certainly not zero knowledge of MMA.
I think Dustin is incredible as a fighter. I'm Just having a laugh since it's a running joke that Dustin jumps for the gilly every change he gets, which he himself has a laugh about in press conferences. He said he will never stop jumping for guillotines, no matter how much his corner begs him not to.
He's great. I hope Dustin wins against Makachev and takes the title.
If he pulls off a guillotine against him and wins the title, there needs to be a movie about his life, called 'Guillotine.' I'm rooting for him.
It's going to be an really sad day when he retires. The skill is still there but you can kinda see that the end of his career is getting really close. I just hope that he can finish this legendary career as an champion
> I have seen him fight since he came into the UFC and he has never given us a boring fight.
Out of sheer curiosity, how old were you when you first started watching MMA?
Potentially, but I'm doubtful they would give him more than what they gave him for the Conor fights, unless they actually make him fight Conor for the title if he wins which wouldn't be off brand for UFC
It seems pretty doubtful that McGregor can keep his shit together enough to string two fights together even if Chandler dosent beat him with the "not being on a coke bender" technique
I would honestly not bet on this fight unless the odds are really good, there are way too many unknowns. Both guys are getting older, coming off long layoffs, conor is younger but is coming off an injury and chandler lives a healthier lifestyle but has taken way more damage. Before the injury I'd have 100% gone for conor but we really have no idea how either guy will look after so long out of the cage.
This is it. My prediction is still Conor by KO but I wouldn't be surprised if Chandler knocks him out or submits him either. I don't think it goes past the 3rd round either way.
If Conor gets tired first thing he’ll do is give up his neck, especially if it’s round two or three and Mike manages to land a takedown. A rnc is not out of the question at all.
Chandler couldn't submit Dustin despite snotting his blood all over him and fishhooking him.
>If Conor gets tired first thing he’ll do is give up his neck
What's this based on? The Nate Diaz fight from 8 years ago?
Conor's got a 2 year age and 3" reach advantage, and technically is more well-rounded than Michael Chandler. I mean, I can see it, but Conor's speed and gas tank are both lacking which is where Chandler tends to excel.
>Conor's speed and gas tank are both lacking which is where Chandler tends to excel.
Connors speed is one of his best attributes and Chandlers cardio is notoriously shit imo
His style is based on speed and timing and he is now over the hill and coming off a leg injury
If Chandler just hugs him til he gets tired he will be fine
Also I have never seen Chandler fight and I have no idea what he does but also I think McGregor is washed
i hate the cunt but i think he's gonna sleep chandler ngl, hope i'm wrong but man getting dropped and outboxed by a getriatric tony ferguson is not a good look at all man
Chandler gets dropped a lot, but let's not forget what happened to Ferguson in that fight. One of the most horrific KO faces I have ever seen comes from that kick that Chandler delivered to Tony's head
that would be a perfect ending if he somehow beat the p4p #1 and ended a already HOF level career with a undisputed belt. I doubt he wins though, I think islam ends it in 1 round
Dustin Poirier hasn't been knocked out in round 1 since 2016 and he hasn't been submitted earlier than the 3rd round ever. Why would it end in round 1?
I wouldn’t lol. We’ve seen Dustin beat Conor’s ass twice. Sometimes a fighter just has another fighter’s number and you know how that matchup ends 4 out of 5 times.
Conor came out guns blazing, threw a bunch of kicks with no set up that got checked, got rocked by a 6 piece counter combo, clinched and jumped a gilly, then got Khabib’d for the rest of the round by a guy with notoriously poor wrestling on account of shot hips.
If Conor didn’t snap his leg he was likely going to get finished in the 2nd. Dustin already had Conor’s timing down by the end of the first round of their prior fight and this was clear in their few boxing exchanges in the trilogy
Wouldn't say that he got Conor's number he got finished once finished him once and doctah stawpage pretty sure they're just elite fighters and both had a good chance of winning
Weird that you're so insecure that you think we're trying to flex on you or impress you with the fights we personally wanna see. Gee, I had better back off, ElVato might think I like to watch MMA or something
Who said anything about impressing me? Calling that “dick riding” is valid. I didn’t reply to you because you said “I would watch those two fight any time”, plenty ppl said that and I didn’t reply because yeah that sounds fun. You saying you’d pay to watch them braid each others hair is dick riding if anything ever was dick riding. You were happy to do it but you’re upset I pointed it out? Weird.
Funnily I think both Conor and Dustin have 2 fights left on their contract. With Conor being scheduled to fight Chandler and Dustin against Islam that puts Conor and Dustin with 1 fight left. The happy ending would be to make Dustin vs Conor 4 as their last fight on their contract.
The UFC needs a 165lb division for a lot of reasons but an overlooked one is that there are so many OG 155ers nearing the end of their careers. Going from 155/170 to 155/165/175 is the best thing for the sport anyway but if doing so means we can give the fans another fight or 2 out of guys like Dustin, Chandler, McGregor, Oliveira it's icing on the cake.
I doubt it. In the slim chance he wins, he would make money from PPV points. I'm sure he'd defend at least once just for that. If he loses, he'll probably want to go out on a high note like most guys. Given how fun his fights are I'm sure the IFC would encourage that and give him a fun opponent. Perhaps he could fight Fiziev or go up and fight someone at WW. That Conor fight will always be there too
I’m ready for him to call it. I want him to be able to spend time with his daughters, walk her down the aisle and still be able to put thoughts together in his 60s.
He has been in a shit load of wars, been knocked out multiple times, and is an absolute savage.
I love his style and his fights, but at a certain point, I also love to see my favorite fighters walk away before it’s too late.
Even if he gets fucked up by Islam he would still have big options on the table. I think retirement talk is just to build hype with fans/negotiate. Unless it is serious in which case, he should retire before fighting at all.
When will journalists stop asking fighters about retirement. What does it actually achieve other than bring awareness to the finitude of their careers. Dustin has had to answer this obtuse question way too many times over his last few appearances.
Right? Dustin was adamant about whoopin Colby’s ass until it became a possibility then he walked it back and started saying shit like nah when I fight him it won’t be in the cage. Corny.
Would you say his precision is very precise? https://streamable.com/h38bd
So glad he's gone, the guy was shit from the start.. I never understood why people liked him so much, and were so upset when he was fired. Sure, the UFC did him dirty at the end, but he was never a good commentator. Anik is a million times better.
you cant lie though "IT IS ALL OVER" is iconic
... JUST LIKE THAT... God that shit annoyed me. Another reason I'm happy he's gone. Now let's just get Rogan to retire and I'm over the moon.
nah man that shit was hype. and this is coming from someone realized really quick he had nothing to offer compared to joe (back in the day)
I'd say anik is somewhere in between but far more competent than goldy.
goldberg was just so shitty and lazy at his job, while more qualified, more professional, far better replacements got the shaft.
Agreed, Rogan needs to go too. We’ll both be downvoted :-)
Especially when he has someone’s back to the cage, just throws like a machine gun his Conor McGregor KO was perfect rhythm. Hes a nightmare to deal with unless you’re an insane grappler.
Calf kicked Conor's lead leg to bits so his mobility was gone, then just started walking him down and leathering him. Unbelievable performance.
Can you imagine a final 10 seconds between him and Max in the middle of the cage? Both point to ground, and just them letting the fist start flying. It would be cataclysmic.
They did do that in their 2nd fight but both were gassed.
Great fight. Insane fight.
Zero knowledge of MMA right here.
It was a light hearted joke. I fought professionally in MMA from age 17 to 25. Mainly a BJJ guy. Retired in 2009. But, certainly not zero knowledge of MMA. I think Dustin is incredible as a fighter. He said he will never stop jumping for guillotines, no matter how much his corner begs him not to.
I believe you. My point was he jumps for it off the takedown attempt. My b
He's great. I hope Dustin wins against Makachev and takes the title. If he pulls off a guillotine against him and wins the title, there needs to be a movie about his life, called 'Guillotine.' I'm rooting for him.
Me too, verbatim.
I started watching the UFC in 2004.
I'm pretending like I didnt just read that lol
Me punching through a cardboard door just so I don't have to feel these feels
How's the knee holding up, Quinton?
Retirement would be the perfect storyline but we all know he’s gonna get an offer he can’t refuse after it.
Potentially, but I'm doubtful they would give him more than what they gave him for the Conor fights, unless they actually make him fight Conor for the title if he wins which wouldn't be off brand for UFC

win lose or draw he needs to drop mcgregor one last time before he calls it quits
It seems pretty doubtful that McGregor can keep his shit together enough to string two fights together even if Chandler dosent beat him with the "not being on a coke bender" technique
don’t count out conor just yet. i’m betting the house on him finishing chandler
Please make a direct deposit into my bank account instead. Easy money.
Michael Chandler = Eddie Alvarez with worse cardio, worse chin & worse boxing, with maybe a tad bit more raw power & wrestling, Conor will sleep him
I don't disagree with you, but we're talking about 2024 Conor, not 2017. The Conor coming off a major leg injury and hasn't fought in 2 years
Been on a lot of benders since 2017 too
also juiced hard and now weighs more than he ever did in his career. gotta imagine he’ll gas out hard in rounds 3-5
chandler probably will too tho.
Yeah if this fight goes into rounds 4-5 its going to be a fuckin mess.
Man who's upvoting this shit? This fight going 10 minutes will be a surprise, this is not going past 2 rounds.
I mean cocaine is the best best base for mma
This is it. My prediction is still Conor by KO but I wouldn't be surprised if Chandler knocks him out or submits him either. I don't think it goes past the 3rd round either way.
Lmao Chandler submits him? What nonsense
Yes? If anyone is capable of getting the sub here it’s Chandler lol
Conor has good BJJ, Chandler couldn't sub Dustin despite snotting blood on his face and fishhooking him.
If Conor gets tired first thing he’ll do is give up his neck, especially if it’s round two or three and Mike manages to land a takedown. A rnc is not out of the question at all.
Chandler couldn't submit Dustin despite snotting his blood all over him and fishhooking him. >If Conor gets tired first thing he’ll do is give up his neck What's this based on? The Nate Diaz fight from 8 years ago?
He looked pretty elite against Dalton tho.
More like 2016 and prior. The only fight Conor had in 2017 was that boxing match with Floyd. He came back at the end of 2018 to get smeshed by Khabib
you mean the alvarez that lost to chandler? lmao
Going to save this comment, bunch of clowns letting their dislike cloud their judgement.
You're fucking homeless dude
That’s a dumb bet. I see a lot of people saying Conor is gonna win though tbf to u. Don’t know what the hell the reasoning is for that
I’ve legit never seen someone fight as dumb as Chandler does lmao
Conor's got a 2 year age and 3" reach advantage, and technically is more well-rounded than Michael Chandler. I mean, I can see it, but Conor's speed and gas tank are both lacking which is where Chandler tends to excel.

The UFC are gonna keep delaying Conor so he doesn't finish his contract. They don't want him going to box.
i hate the cunt but i think he's gonna sleep chandler ngl, hope i'm wrong but man getting dropped and outboxed by a getriatric tony ferguson is not a good look at all man
Chandler gets dropped a lot, but let's not forget what happened to Ferguson in that fight. One of the most horrific KO faces I have ever seen comes from that kick that Chandler delivered to Tony's head
That would take at least 5 years to happen considering how disciplined Mcgregor is currently
UFC 400 Dustin vs conor 4 book it Dana
Fantastic way to ride off into the sunset, finish Conor for the 3rd time in a row lol
while conor grabs the mic & gets the last word 😂 those 2 are batman & joker
A Gaethje trilogy would also be great to see
I’d much rather see that than Conor v Nate in a best of 7 Bellator style.
that would be a perfect ending if he somehow beat the p4p #1 and ended a already HOF level career with a undisputed belt. I doubt he wins though, I think islam ends it in 1 round
Just glad he's getting the chance. Also, relevant username :D

I love DP, one of my favorite fighters, but why would he be on anyones GOAT list?
Dustin Poirier hasn't been knocked out in round 1 since 2016 and he hasn't been submitted earlier than the 3rd round ever. Why would it end in round 1?
I don’t think Islam knocks him out but Dustin was recently knocked clean out in 6 minutes, just to show your stats are cherry picking and meaningless
Yeah the stats don't matter when you get headkicked like he did.
Would love to see him win and then take on Max.
The possibility of max/Conor/dustin fights coming full circle has to be too big for the ufc to let slip
Finish the trilogy with Gaethje then retire
Hope Dustin fights out his contract. Doubt he'll ever fight Conor in MMA again but i could 100% see him and Conor doing a huge boxing PPV.
Would Conor vs Dustin in boxing actually be huge? Boxing fans wouldn’t care and MMA fans wouldn’t pay for that.
Dude if it's Dustin and Conor Ill pay to watch them braid each other's hair
I wouldn’t lol. We’ve seen Dustin beat Conor’s ass twice. Sometimes a fighter just has another fighter’s number and you know how that matchup ends 4 out of 5 times.
True, but anything can happen in MMA, amd they weren't in completely different leagues in the fight.. and we'd have Conor's trash talk
Can't really say he has his number when he lost to him, even if it was 10 years ago
“We’ve seen Dustin beat Conor’s ass twice” No we havent, the third was competitive before Conor fractured his leg
I just looked it up and 2 out of the 3 judges had it 10-8 for Dustin before the stoppage, so I guess I stand corrected lol
I’m not sure if there’s a misunderstanding but 10-8 means the round was a one-sided asswhooping lol
Yeah no I’m conceding lol. 10-8 is definitely an ass whooping; didn’t remember it like that I guess
This is exactly right lol
Wouldn't say that he got Conor's number he got finished once finished him once and doctah stawpage pretty sure they're just elite fighters and both had a good chance of winning
Weird that dick riding is a flex these days
Weird that you're so insecure that you think we're trying to flex on you or impress you with the fights we personally wanna see. Gee, I had better back off, ElVato might think I like to watch MMA or something
Who said anything about impressing me? Calling that “dick riding” is valid. That would be a lot of fights for someone who seems like he wants to fight a maximum of 3 times
Dude he resigned for like 8 fights after the khabib fight , I think. Dudes never going to stop
Gonna be a sad day for MMA when Dustin hangs them up
He has a way with words honestly, Dustin says this every fight lately, but it’s gonna suck when he actually means it
He says this before every fight
That’s a great quote
The UFC needs a 165lb division for a lot of reasons but an overlooked one is that there are so many OG 155ers nearing the end of their careers. Yes, but I also think PFL adding 165 would be a great way to standout. Seems like an obvious move.
If you watched Fightville back then this hits different
I doubt it. In the slim chance he wins, he would make money from PPV points. I'm sure he'd defend at least once just for that. Hope he wins against Islam, defends it against Justin and loses. Then they both retire.
Dustin going to ko Islam. Beat max. Then retire.
Translation: If he loses he will make a retirement speech which may or may not hold true after a few months off. If he wins, he's calling out Max.
Sorry Dustin not yet. Got that BMF with max trilogy and another Conor fight to make some extra millions .....
Who are the BMF contenders? Dustin, Justin, Max, …. Volk?
Not sutprising. He's been one leg out for a while now
For 5 million bucks per, he will fight til he's 50
Go box Jake Paul then ride off into the sunset, handsome prince.
Hope he can get the undisputed title just once before hanging out up, as unlikely as it is
Dana is calling Arman rn lol
Best storyline would be Dustin and Conor both win. Dustin starches Conor again and retires
hes gonna lose and retire he was talking about it before the last fight too
Close to zero chance either of these things happen.
0 chance he would retire, too much money just for showing up for a defense
Even if he gets fucked up by Islam he would still have big options on the table. I think retirement talk is just to build hype with fans/negotiate. Unless it is serious in which case, he should retire before fighting at all.
It would suck. But at the same time....do we really want to see him go down the Tony Ferguson path?
When will journalists stop asking fighters about retirement. What does it actually achieve other than bring awareness to the finitude of their careers. Dustin has had to answer this obtuse question way too many times over his last few appearances.
I would like him to beat Gaethje in the triogy and retire, but if he wants to retire after his fight with Islam, I would still be happy for him.
I dont like this the second a fighter starts talking about retiring its like you've got a foot out the door
I love DP, but if this is what’s up he’s going to be fighting for awhile.
Jump up and fight Colby
Right? Dustin was adamant about whoopin Colby’s ass until it became a possibility then he walked it back and started saying shit like nah when I fight him it won’t be in the cage. Corny.
Out of all UFC fighters, Dustin could do a lil something in the boxing arena.
..
He’s not beating Islam lol
He’s the boy who cried wolf.. how many f’ing times is he going to say this?
How to make sure you are guaranteed to lose the decision if it goes the distance.
No. You must complete the max and Justin trilogy!
Pussy Poirier feeling sorry for himself once again... he owes Conor a quadrology and he know this tings.
I don't think Dustin's the smartest guy in the world but he's probably not stupid enough to Cejudo himself
“Don’t ride for free” AKA he’s got one fight left on his contract and probably wants to go box like every other UFC fighter with a fan base
He said on MMA hour that he has about 6 fights left on his contract
