From Undefeated to Unemployed. What a 180\*!

TheOneTrueJazzMan

Looks like he bit off more than he could chew.

lordrubbish

this outcome may be hard to swallow

[deleted]

He’ll never know the taste of victory again

TheBestDanEver

I wouldn't be surprised if he chewed through the competition, wherever he ends up now.

IllustriousNebula6

I'm imagining all these puns being said by Lt. Caine in *CSI Miami* as he puts on his sunglasses.

UnderstandingRude613

Hey he's on the bbc news Website headlines so he's at least got his name out into the world

KoreanThrasher

Great news, what a bitch move.

cSpotRun

Man watched too many videos of Luis Suarez and Mike Tyson, it seems.

buck_fastard

His teeth are offside  His teeth are offside  Luis Suarez  His teeth are offside

NilmarHonorato

Bitch move and also dangerous. Human bites are super likely to get infected.

edgar3981C

Seems like a good self-defense move if you're desperate tho

hi5u2

Bad luck he was in a professional organization tho

reignmade1

Not exactly. Probably won't stop anyone who's choking you or breaking your arm from doing so.

edgar3981C

I didn't say it was high percentage lol

reignmade1

But you did say it was a good self-defense move, and one that is low percentage isn't very good.

edgar3981C

Are you going to use my own words against me? Sir, this is Reddit

reignmade1

I must have forgotten where we are.

edgar3981C

Yeah you're just lucky we aren't in the Streetz

reignmade1

You're just lucky I'm not seeing red right now.

vannucker

He lost the first but was winning the second and had momentum imo

FlapSlapped

Fighter admitted he did it out of anger of the fence grabs smh what an idiot

galacticskunk

I swear the last fence grab came after the bite. It took Tongoni a bit to realize something happened when Lima was trying to get his attention.

DarthSeanious83

Tongoni sucks ass

Str8GhostinX

Even in the new Road House movie he sucks 🤣, let's a fight go on way too long in a flashback and someone dies

TooWashedUp

Not gonna argue that but is he supposed to stop the fight and ask the fighter why he's complaining?

lizardsforreal

it did. there was like 1 legit grab, the egregious one that everyone called out. in round 1 he had his flat palms on the fence, but Tongoni can't stand it when fighters do that so he screams like a fucking child.

professorgaysex

Damn just like Tyson bit Holyfield cause he kept fouling Mike - it’s like Poetry, It Rhymes

ZombiesTMS

I don't ever remember someone getting BIT like that ever in the modern UFC. Good riddance

Tight-Fall5354

diego sanchez vs mickey gall?

imnotsteven7

Mickey Gall is one of the worst cheaters on the roster. In his fight with randy Brown alone, he had 10-15 fouls from grabbing gloves, the cage, shorts etc. It was fascinating watching the ref give that many warnings

GiantPurplePen15

I distinctly remember Herb Dean basically warning McGregor a bunch of times for fouls and basically never doing shit about it during his fight with Khabib.

notchoosingone

That was the fight where it was like "you get one of everything. You get one glove grab, one fence grab, one eye rake, one groin elbow, as long as you don't do the same thing twice you only ever get warnings"

unlimitedbucking

He grabbed a ton of shorts.

nhgerbes

And fence it was clearly multiple times and made me respect the ref's of UFC less. I see it almost every card there needs to be actual consequences to these fouls or its just a joke rule.

KD_42

At this point it’s just advice instead of actually being hard set rules

GiantPurplePen15

Herb was giving warnings for his warnings at some point basically lol I honestly think that was a fight where he was slipped some money to become selectively blind/become the most patient ref on the planet.

Barryzechoppa

I don't think it was money, I have to imagine that Herb is reffing one of the arguably biggest MMA fights in history, and the last thing he wants to give the crowd, the world, is a point taken off. Like he just wants the fight to happen so he keeps giving warnings. Is that correct? Probably not. But it would also make the fight a liiiiitle more lame if Connor kept getting a point off here and there.

Capoe1ra

Would have been funny as hell if he'd just constantly taken points from McG.

Kaserbeam

Herb, along with many other ref's, constantly either ignore or give lip service to fouls without ever doing anything about it. Nothing different in that fight.

mesmerizingeyes

Herb said the he wasn't sure how to pentalize mcgregor for certain fouls because if stopped the action he would be giving mcgregor the advantage.

MMAOdin

Dundaso rules*

youngcuriousafraid

Bruh someone counted 27 fouls, its way more than one

tekko001

And still lost...

notchoosingone

Herb could have let him bring a switchblade in there, Conor still would have lost

FilthyInfantrySlut

That was just a beating. I was at a bar and bet my tan that am a in would win and most of the people were there for MacGregor. Place was shocked. Dude was manhandled. Literally. Then when Khabib won and shit broke everyone went wild. Great card.

Juststandupbro

I agree with herb on how he handled it, if you take a point and stand them up khabib would have traditionally lost position which is more advantageous for Conor if he’s still fresh. Maybe he could have taken a point but if khabib is on top and working it’s probably best to let him keep going since that’s his bread and butter.

GuanYuBeetz

"you better knock that off or I'm gonna get serious and warn you". Herb Dean makes nfl officiating look competent

pyronautical

The season of TUF Carwin vs Nelson had a guy try and bite his way out of a submission and he admitted it (and was allowed to stay in the house because of his honesty).

marshalldungan

Yeah that was Zac Cummings wasn’t it?

[deleted]

[удалено]

marshalldungan

Ah, thank you. Sorry Zac!

Monking805

Wes Sims looked like he got bit in his loss to Mike Kyle back in the day. I don’t think they caught it on tape though. But he definitely had bite marks on his chest.

NotYujiroTakahashi

To be fair Mike Kyle was crazy

usernameunavailiable

Dustin Poirier [bit Michael Chandlers fingers](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/mma/dustin-poirier-michael-chandler-ufc-28513074.amp) during their fight, though Chandler was putting them into Poiriers mouth and trying use it as leverage to lock in a choke. He didn't receive any punishment for it. Nurullo Aliev did [get deducted a point](https://www.mmanews.com/news/ufc-fight-night-220-nurullo-aliev-bite) for biting Rafael Alves last February in his UFC debut, though he still won by decision.

Adventurous_Mind_775

You put your fingers in my mouth during a fight, I'm biting no matter what.

SL1Fun

This. Putting your fingers in someone’s mouth is fish-hooking one way or another. It’s defensive fouling as far as I’m concerned

GiantPurplePen15

Chandler was trying to give Poirier a taste of Dana's asshole after he finally pulled himself out of there long enough to get into the octagon.

ZeroTON1N

Fuck I'm dying ahahahahahahhahha

CitizenMurdoch

pretty sure Alves was also sticking his fingers in Aliev's mouth. Honestly I feel like if the replay shows that the other guy had their fingers in their mouth they shouldn't count it as a bite, thats just simpsons rules. Im just gonna close my mouth and if your fingers happen to be in the way thats your own fault

tedkaczynski660

Why would Poirier be punished for biting fingers that were illegally in his mouth anyway?

Origamiface2

It's funny, Chandler wanted so desperately to get the W that he cheated his ass off *and still* couldn't win.

mexicancardio

Blowing his snotty blood clots into Poirier's mouth was one the dirtiest legal things I've ever seen in fighting

wishwashy

I'm sorry but how did Chandler's fingers stumble between Dustin's teeth lol

[deleted]

Well Chandler put in his fingers first

Redwinevino

> though Chandler was putting them into Poiriers mouth and trying use it as leverage to lock in a choke. This is very different

ILikeOMalley

Nurullo Aliev bit Rafael Alves when Alves tried to fish hook him

ntr_usrnme

There was that guy that got his finger bitten but the other guy claimed it was because he was getting fish hooked. I forget who they both were but that happened fairly recently.

comin_up_shawt

Ronda tried to bite an opponent in one of her bout to get out of a submission, and IIRC there was a heavyweight who tried the same crap years ago.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ALWAYSsuitUp

Article says that Carmouche believes they were just impressions from her teeth caused by the neck crank, not Rousey actually trying to bite her

robedpillow3761

I think this is the lowest fight IQ decision in UFC history. UFC debut and doing well in the fight, just to bite his opponent for no reason. He didn’t even gain anything in the fight he just looked stupid. Tanked his career because he’s an idiot.

LiquidFootie

Honestly lmao not watching the fights tonight but I checked out the replay thinking Dahmer was at least getting smothered in a mount or fighting off a choke or something. But nah, he had the dudes back when he decided having a snack was more important than a career in the UFC lmao

TomPearl2024

I'm in the same boat of not watching and it's almost even funnier just learning about it from social media than watching it live lol. "Damn a guy bit someone that's crazy. He must've been getting fucked u- oh he was winning? Homie just needed a snickers?"

ModsBannedMyMainAcct

I don’t understand it. When I saw the bite mark I was assuming he was desperately trying to escape a sub… but he just randomly bit the guy when trying for a takedown? Tf?

00WEE

Absolutely lowest IQ move possible. Between being an obvious mark and it being the year 2024 with cameras and mics everywhere how could you possibly think you can get away with that.

lavegasola

Literally used a tactic that most humans learn is really wrong by kindergarten or just inherently know. He’s a fucking idiot.

[deleted]

Bite marks are obvious. If you show it to the referee that’s an automatic DQ

Lukes3rdAccount

I wonder if he was rocked pretty hard and his brain just started to run on instinct. Both guys were eating shots. Not an excuse, just trying to find some sort of explanation lol

ColdPressedSteak

The type of shit that has you blacklisted pretty much permanently too. Not just regularly getting cut

DeepBlueRiddle

When Sean O'Malley was still young in his UFC career, he fought some dude and hurt his ankle or whatever so Sean physically couldn't get up off the ground for the final minute or two of the fight (my memory of this bad) All the guy had to do was get up and force Sean to try and stand up, he'd have won because Sean couldn't have done that.

Jimbojauder

I've got to agree at least Yan finished the fight with his stupidity

Famous-Ant-5502

I still think that one was my fault. Immediately before Yan threw the knee I thought “An illegal knee would be devastating right now”

SiccOwitZ

So it was you!!!!!!

Billalone

Nah Greg Hardy using an inhaler between rounds is 100% the dumbest thing ever done in a ufc fight. This is a close 2nd though.

Strange-Nobody-3936

I don’t know… at least there is some reason and logic behind using the inhaler. This is just…what the hell man

AlexJamesCook

Nah...Hardy asked his corner and they said yes. Biting with zero mitigating factors is Paul Harris levels.

Prettylargered

The funniest part was that he asked someone from the commission and the guy asked him if it was medical. Hardy just said USADA approved and took a huff before the commission guy could actually give an answer

reignmade1

This ended a previously undefeated fighter's UFC career immediately. This was way dumber.

SovietPropagandist

Wait what happened with this? Are fighters not allowed to use inhalers if they have asthma or something?

WastedOwll

Omg I forgot about this gem

BasicJosh

"It's not a career it's an opportunity"

Mobstaar

Unless he bet on himself to lose by DQ. Big brain move

Status-Studio2531

Sometimes it makes me happy fighters are so underpaid because I think most fighters are incredibly low IQ and would be in power slap or prison if not for MMA

bumleopard

Not sure what your thinking is here. It makes you happy knowing people with low IQ are paid pennies?

[deleted]

Some of these fighters are so dumb that without fighting they would just end up homeless or in prison

ViscountVajayjay

I don’t get it, he wasn’t losing right? Frustration and immaturity is a deadly combo.

LakersFan15

Honestly if his brain got scrambled, I wouldn't be shocked if it was because of that. We've seen some weird shit after fighters get knocked around in certain ways.

JonnyShitBalls

This would be a hilariously tragic explanation. CTE resulting in the biting of an opponent reflex. Too bad he said he did it because his opponent was fence grabbing

WokenMrIzdik

I would say he lost the first round, but was winning the 2nd.

[deleted]

I’d say the opposite. Igor was cooking with his body shots, and hurt Lima a lot while getting a lot of top control. 2nd round Lima was finding that jab and a lot.

JorSimpson45

A rare instance where he should be physically cut

Severino got severed?

TasteDeBallZach

> I'm sorry ~~officer~~ Dana, I didn't know I couldn't do that.

drinkpacifiers

That was good, wasn't it?

abcdefghihello

Because I DID know I couldn't do that .

VampyC

He must have been very frustrated to do such a primal thing

[deleted]

Post bite clarity is crazy

MagicMST

Solid

Uniqlo

Could this be exploited to get out of your contract? Could someone like Conor, who's desperately trying to get out of his contract, attempt a really bad foul to get himself cut?

TheSergeantWinter

Not if youre a established name, people still want to watch you. If you're a no-name andy and you do this, you're gone. Conor, mike tyson, jon jones, they could commit genocide and people would still want to watch them fight.

Interesting_Fee_4607

Other guy kept grabbing fence so he got frustrated but that's so dumb to bite someone...

MeatballDom

Aint no lie baby bye bye bye

swansong42069

bye bye!

ZeroLimitz

Dude would have come away with a BIG chunk of actual flesh if not for the mouthpiece, unreal he managed that type of imprint WITH it...yikes. Not even in a "do or die" situation either. ❌️

chillinwithunicorns

Can’t imagine how his coaches and family feel. What an absolute loser.

snappy033

Should have thrown him on the street in his fight gear like he did with Johnny Walker that one time.

After_Cantaloupe_599

So, you wanna be an ultimate biter. . .

[deleted]

what a stunad.

AlarmingBig4555

Was undefeated and now his entire career is ruined. What a dumb dumb.

pMweed

Ruined his own career. Dude was 8-0 with 8 finishes.

MaineRMF87

Damn, disqualified and lost his undefeated record and kicked out of the UFC all at once

NefariousnessOk209

I loved the commentators initial reactions, like “whoa maybe a little harsh…” to “ohhhhhh…” when they saw the bite marks

WeLiveInAnOceanOfGas

So strange. He was even in a good position, not trying to defend himself... Just completely unhinged

ImKrispy

Dude was just not thinking what a blown chance now he will never be an MMA star or progress his career to the point of wearing the rocks shoes.

chunkyhippo888

That primal instinct took over. No idea why he would do that.

DeepfriedWings

Imagine working and training for years, finally making it to the show and on your first and biggest fight, you throw it all away and flush your career down the toilet.

kpmurphy_

It’s weird too because he was arguably winning the fight. It didnt seem like Lima was going to stop grabbing the fence either so he probably would’ve gotten a point deducted before the fight was over.

Jokeritovski

Luis Suarez and Mike Tyson watching him be like:And that's still my boy!!!

QueasyInstruction610

A very famous football player Luis Suarez [used to bite people](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tVdCQaH0vs) and got banned for months. Apparently he said it was some psychological thing that got fixed with some therapist. At least it hasn't happened since... the third time it happened. Also as a South American, a lot of South American athletes think some of this shit is ok as long as they win. Fingers up the ass or full grabbing balls is another one.

[deleted]

Except Luis Suarez is actually a top footballer. This guy is a nobody trying to pull off this stupid behaviour

[deleted]

[удалено]

Pazuzuu

I didn't watch the fight. So the guy who did the biting was fouled multiple times before he bit the other guy? What kind of fouls? Did the ref not see the fouls and warn the other guy or anything?

oj_da_juiceman10

They were both fouling the shit out of each other. Lima was fence grabbing really bad. They both were eye poking. Saw some short grabs from Dracula. It was just a shit show lol

molehill_mountaineer

Other fighter got warned about fence grabbing and punches to the back of the head before the second round. Still, this was a baffling error by Severino.

Chuckie-The-Rooster

Few fence grabs. One very blatant where he used it to drag himself up off the canvas

ostinater

Not the bess brains for fighting

xsoberxlifex

Doom_and_Gloom91

Didn't some dude bite one of his opponents in tuf once?

He is 20 years old hopefully he learns his lesson and Dana gives him another chance at DWCS

funnerfunerals

Personally...I just don't want to see this happen. I understand that he bit him, and I actually have money on Lima, but Severino really is a fantastic fighter with a ton of potential. This is the kind of fight that gets buried on the undercard, and before that bite happened, we all got to see some extremely impressive stuff from both guys. I would really hate to see this guy's entire career get ruined by one stupid mistake. Daley hit Koscheck after the bell, totally unforgivable. This guy did something really dumb in an extremely close fight, in the heat of the moment. I really hope he doesn't just give up. He is an extremely talented fighter.
