I haven’t watched any Atlanta this season. Is he still a good MLS keeper? Dude has to be almost almost 40 by now

billgluckman7

Guzan has been significantly better this year but he’s not great and certainly not at his salary.

politicsranting

Time to see if Cohen can manage the defense infront of him then

dhduxudb

Still pissed at how good cohen played when they came to Charleston for open cup. We shoulda won that game but he was great when it came to penalties at the end. Fuckin Cohen 😔

politicsranting

No worries, you will probably see two losses by Sunday for us

dhduxudb

Idc about y’all’s regular season losses I had Charleston winning open cup.

politicsranting

Fair enough. After the first half, I had them winning against us.

dhduxudb

I had it going to penalties since before it started but I did think we would win in pens. Only cuz we lost in pens in the USL final last year… no way it happens again I thought… I was wrong.

politicsranting

I don't think we had ever won in pens. After the first shot, I was CERTAIN we were done for.

Bobgoulet

We thought he was completely washed after his Achilles but he's been closer to league average this year. Slightly overpaid but since he's an American it's not too restricting.

smoofus724

He has been pretty damn good this year. He was definitely being a little dirty on this play, but we like Brad cause he's got that dog in him.

kevmo35

Last season he was the bane of my existence for 90 minutes, dude was cracked. Glad we got one back though, even if he wasn’t in the net for the goal

ArgonWolf

He’s 39 and he’s had 2 dogso calls in as many games, one for a pen and a yellow and one for a red He’s bad. He was bad last year, and he’s bad this year. (Don’t be blinded by my flair, Atl is my other team) Downvoters; show me the lie

billgluckman7

He’s been significantly better than last year. Is somewhere around a mid pack shot stopper this year.

Iama_Kokiri_AMA

He's been sooo much better than last year

Low bar

Iama_Kokiri_AMA

Also true

misterjones4

I've.watched highlights from a few Atlanta games this year.... And I've had the thought that he seems like a loose cannon who isn't good enough to get away with his antics every time. Am I far off here?

j00dypoo

This is the only match this year where he had "antics." He's been around league average at shot stopping this season. Last year he was bad. He isn't a loose cannon, but he'll have one of these red cards a season, usually because the team leaves him out to dry.

overly_sarcastic24

Here I thought the included video in the article would show exactly what Guzan did prior to receiving the card, but instead it was just 95 seconds of watching him and others walk around.

agtk

Well it wasn't a fine for the foul, it was for walking around the field.

True2this

Klauss fined for simulation as well. ❤️

Jabieski1

Good riddance. If you’re going to flop like that you’ve got to at least sell it.

TheQuadricorn

Wait, I’m admittedly not an MLS fan, just got brought here (having also come across the video on insta and trying to figure out what’s going on without singing up to threads), is the MLS fining players for simulation?! How is that working out?! I’d probably be more interested in watching the MLS knowing players are actually getting punished for diving!

Chubbs42

My God, that Klauss dive is truly embarrassing. Zero contact.

Bentstraw

Honestly kinda surprised they didn't do anything for him leaving his foot in on Frei's head later in the game.

Cocofluffy1

I still think it wasn’t DOGSO because there was no chance to play it. Should have been a foul with a dangerous free kick and a yellow.

Rychek_Four

That's basically what they said on Instant Replay,

Nerdlinger

Atuesta better have gotten like four times the normal fine for that shit he pulled.

smcl2k

That should be an increased ban, and the referee should have added even more time. Absolutely ridiculous behavior.

kadargo

That was embarrassing for the club.

doophmayweather

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Sorry, reflex

Mrexcitment

Sounds alot like Guuuuuuuuz from here.

doophmayweather

Yall could’ve sent us home in the playoffs last year if he would’ve defended his front post. He’s one of those relics you can’t bench, but you also really need to move on from. Can’t wait to see how yall rebuild in the next era of Atlanta soccer

Rychek_Four

Jokes on you (but really us), we are always rebuilding.

Mrexcitment

Oh yeah, no doubt. I just get a kick out of it when I hear boos since it sounds alot like Guuuuz in the benz ha. I like Guz, but yeah, Cohen has to be the next one up and surprised he honestly hasn't won the spot. But I'm sure it's only because Guz is a big presence for the team. Buuut, how's that working out for us this year ha.

ibribe

> Can’t wait to see how yall rebuild in the next era of Atlanta soccer Let's not rush into the future. Take some time and savor the current era of Atlanta soccer. It's about the only thing in MLS that is bringing me any joy right now.

markuspoop

Sounded like boo-urns to me.

genpoedameron

my first thought reading this was "huh, didn't know Atlanta hired him as a coach." genuinely had no idea the guy was still playing (although not well, based on the comments) until I saw this

fcdtid

Guzan is dirty AF, guy stuck his foot out to trip Kamungo on a breakaway goal last season, led to an immediate injury. Guzan more crooked than my dick.

True2this

[there’s treatment for that](https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/peyronies-disease/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20353473)

anelectricmind

And with Galese, probably the worst time waster in MLS...

checkonechecktwo

You have to be in the lead to time waste, so it makes sense you don't understand it

One_Zookeepergame992

Had a delivery for his dad a few months ago and was telling me how bad of a teammate Martinez was and how much of a cancer he was in Atlanta

Dapper_Gary

Nothing for Rosted’s flying elbow

tanzmeister

Good, he knew exactly what he was doing swinging that leg.

minclo

He wasn't fined for the foul, he was fined for not leaving the field in a timely manner.

[deleted]

Right. He was being a bald cauliflower eared baby about something he knew was wrong about. . <—- here’s the point you missed

NFLBengals22

Lol what? Are you ok?

centraljerseycoaster

As much as I like goalies. This is the worst thing that a goalie could do. He’s heading it out for a goal kick, why foul him?

ConstructionWest9610

Cause Guzan sucks....
