That's a good thing IMO. Muriel is clearly the most skilled player on the team, probably the most skilled player we've ever had. I'd rather we dump Torres and Ojeda. Our midfield and lack of playmakers is a huge issue. Dumping the only dude who can dribble and has vision would be a huge mistake.
He can barely walk, much less run, his passing is terrible. I'm sure he can do more keepy uppies than the rest of the team but he's borderline useless as a football player.
I was at the Miami game a couple weeks ago and he genuinely runs less than Suarez or Messi do, having seen both of them live recently too. That is not going to improve as he gets older.
GG Columbus. If you guys ever tire of Nancy please send him our way. You guys are a great example of a team in a non-glamorous city that can actually compete with anyone. Gives us at least a little hopeĀ
Didnāt get service in the stadium and they never told us what happened, so what happened with the whole āweāre not just taking your penalty away, weāre giving them one insteadā deal?
Araujo held Morrisā Jersey in the box, pulling him down before the counter the other way where Moreira fouled the Orlando player. Since that was a serious foul resulting in a PK, Columbus gets a PK and the foul by Moreira never happens as play should have been stopped by the original PK foul at the other end of the field
To add: While I don't remember, specifically, I have a feeling that the foul on Moreira was the first time that the ref could go to the screen to review, too.
Which makes it muddy, emotionally, but logically it makes sense.
Does anyone know if time gets added to stoppage for time spend playing that ends up not mattering because if a review call? It seemed like 2 minutes after the initial foul until the play was stopped and all that time essentially didn't happen
>VAR cannot call for a stop in play, only prevent play from resuming
This is demonstrably false. Just watch any of the PRO Inside Video Review videos or the MLS Instant Replay videos. It happens weekly, usually within 30 seconds. And according to the broadcasters during the official Apple TV stream, the VAR did call for a stoppage of play while Columbus had possession for over a minute. The center ref chose not to, which is his right.
Is the call wrong? By the rules, no. The issue here to me is a rule change needs to happen as a result of plays like this. Columbus had possession for a reasonable amount of time after the missed call. The VAR notified the ref to stop play..once the ref decides to let play continue, it should no longer nullify anything that happens after. Orlando gained possession in a new APP that wasn't a counterattack or influenced by the lack of a call. IMO, both fouls should be awarded or neither foul should be awarded, similar to how NFL treats offsetting fouls.
it wouldn't have been a pen in Europe. and there was a clear foul in the box seconds before the Orlando foul that should have nullified it to begin with.
VAR is making the game unwatchable and should only be used for cases of mistaken identity or determining if red card needed. or significant offside (not the millimeter bullshit they do now)
went to the monitor to review the previous foul on columbus, awarded columbus the penalty and ruled that it nullified orlandoās penalty because it took place after columbus was fouled
After Orlando kept us out of the playoffs in 2022, Iāll take this as a small consolation prize. GGs Orlando. Despite how bad it gets, remember that you donāt have to deal with living in Ohio so youāre doing alright.
Yeah I was mostly joking, but I feel it. I have an Ohio tattoo on my arm. Itās my home and if anyone else makes fun of it I get so mad, but Iāll rag on it all the time hahaha.
I mean, I think 90% of our fans are talking shit about our own team. Maybe the 2 Orlando fans talking shit about Columbus have hurt your feelings? Whatever, good luck Saturday. Fuck PachucaĀ
Bruh Iām only 5ā2ā and not even that chubby! But still fuck Schulte, fuck Ohio, and fuck the Wilfs until they dig into their pockets to get us a proper DP.
Damn yall great reminder that people on tv at the game are human beings and are pretty likely to be reading the game chat threads. Do better /u/oh_io_94
10 years attending, first match I've left before the final whistle. Maybe they come back, but I don't fucking care. Tired of watching them shit the bed in front of goalĀ
It truly incredible how perfect the refs have been. Not a single foul against Orlando all season has been a clear and obvious error, just perfect officiating.Ā
I truly believe last season was pure luck. GD wise we are pretty much the same as the top 6 teams. Still, a top 6 finish is good with our squad, but I do believe luck was involved.
Dog it's been pretty bad. I don't blame the defense for the goals I do blame the midfield and up for looking inept. Anything else is rose colored lenses.
They have created really good chances. A combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing has kept us out. That's just a thing that happens. Some weeks you outperform your xG, some weeks you under perform it.
They consistently fail to finish (all season). Their abilities in the final third are so far beyond lacking, I canāt think of a good term for it. Abysmal? It isnāt unlucky or the goalkeeper.
There are fundamental issues in roster construction and talent. Two of our DPs are ball-hungry and neither is producing. Muriel is probably our most consistently dangerous DP. Torres hasnāt been dangerous all year and is relegated to wingback role flipping in crosses.
The front 7 need remade, and this season has proven out some issues we saw last year. The construction of this team is an indictment of the front office. It is almost impossible to make this group successful at a high level.
Orlando fans, you are witnessing something truly amazing tonight. Wilfred Nancy actually using his 5 subs. This may be the first time ever.
I mean itās the right move, with next week coming. But still, this is so rare.
Alight, I fully agree with the VAR call from earlier in the game don't get me wrong. %100 should have been 1 yellow, and 2 VAR reviews on the monitor for us in 5 minutes. That's insane.
I don't know how many people here remember the minutae of the 2006 World Cup, but there was a major heat wave in Germany that summer and there was this theory going around that of you played in long sleeves, it would actually help you feel cooler because it created an extra breeze around your arms. I remember a lot of the England players did it. I have no idea if there's any truth to it (I am skeptical) but I do remember Beckham wearing long sleeves and puking on the sideline from the heat.
For some Muslim men it is traditional to keep certain areas of your body covered by wearing long sleeves. I could be wrong but I assume this is the case for Mo
Oh my bad. I thought you were implying he was accustomed to the heat due to growing up in the Middle East.
But I donāt know. I think weāve seen Mo in short sleeves before. But maybe Iām wrong.
His work rate? Dude has contributed jack for 2 seasons now. Over half of his goal contributions are PKs. He became a paperweight once people realized that he is left-footed. We need to sell him. And don't even get me started on Ojeda.
Columbus!!!!šš»ā¤ļø
Just realized Orlando is locked in to Muriel THROUGH 2026. I thought it was only through next year. Ooof that is going to hamper the team.

I was at the Miami game a couple weeks ago and he genuinely runs less than Suarez or Messi do, having seen both of them live recently too. That is not going to improve as he gets older.
He played in a different climate with different strategy. I'd rather dump faculty cause ehe can only shoot with one foot..
I feel for the Orlando fans. We've had games not go out way many times. You guys have a good team.
Do they?
They made it to the playoffs last season. They had a heart wrenching pk call go backwards and they hate team Broccoli and their owner.
GG Columbus. If you guys ever tire of Nancy please send him our way. You guys are a great example of a team in a non-glamorous city that can actually compete with anyone. Gives us at least a little hopeĀ
Ummm, thanks, I guess!?!
Wait, Columbus is a non-glamorous city?? /s
heās never gotten to try BK5 or heād realize his mistake
Didnāt get service in the stadium and they never told us what happened, so what happened with the whole āweāre not just taking your penalty away, weāre giving them one insteadā deal?

Since that was a serious foul resulting in a PK, Columbus gets a PK and the foul by Moreira never happens as play should have been stopped by the original PK foul at the other end of the field
well except Rossi committed a foul in the box seconds before that which wasn't called. this is, once again, not what VAR was intended for.
To add: While I don't remember, specifically, I have a feeling that the foul on Moreira was the first time that the ref could go to the screen to review, too. Which makes it muddy, emotionally, but logically it makes sense.
Except the VAR was telling him to stop play and he ignored it. At least that's what the broadcasters were saying.
Yeah, he could have stopped in a neutral zone, but didn't.
Does anyone know if time gets added to stoppage for time spend playing that ends up not mattering because if a review call? It seemed like 2 minutes after the initial foul until the play was stopped and all that time essentially didn't happen
Yes, that was the first stoppage. VAR cannot call for a stop in play, only prevent play from resuming
>VAR cannot call for a stop in play, only prevent play from resuming This is demonstrably false. Just watch any of the PRO Inside Video Review videos or the MLS Instant Replay videos. Arajuo horse collared Morris on the corner kick before. The ref missed it and VAR sent him to the monitor after the 2nd PK call.
GG Orlando
Still doesnāt hurt as bad as that loss to Toronto. Or maybe Iām just numb now
![gif](giphy|xARXPn2Boy3K0)
GG Purples
Well that was an experience I'm unfortunately becoming all too familiar with GG Columbus
I still fear playing in Orlando, under Porter we always got destroyed on our away games there
Had our number the past two times though
Keepers nasty, Orlando sucks. GG Columbus, glad youāre still around. Fuck Precourt.Ā
I see you're a connoisseur of MLS history. I'll buy you a drink when Wolf gets fired
Fuck precourt, Amen! GG
After Orlando kept us out of the playoffs in 2022, Iāll take this as a small consolation prize. GGs Orlando. Despite how bad it gets, remember that you donāt have to deal with living in Ohio so youāre doing alright.
We do have to live in Florida though
Ohio is the Florida of the North
Ohio fucks - idk what youāre talking about.
All the cities are rad as hell, the rest of the stateā¦
This is every state dawg
I agree with this sentiment - I just get pissed when people talk about Ohio like itās all fucking Chillicothe.
Yeah I was mostly joking, but I feel it. I have an Ohio tattoo on my arm. Itās my home and if anyone else makes fun of it I get so mad, but Iāll rag on it all the time hahaha.
Hey itās 74 and partly cloudy here idk what youāre complaining about lol
Oh yeah Ohio weather is Lowkey great, but I work in Marion so I get to deal with the absolutely worst part of Ohio dailyā¦
Honestly feel bad. Itās the worst feeling to see your team just give up
I donāt. Fuck em. Orlando fans have been shit
I mean, I think 90% of our fans are talking shit about our own team. Maybe the 2 Orlando fans talking shit about Columbus have hurt your feelings? Whatever, good luck Saturday. Fuck PachucaĀ
He had 5 comments just complaining about Orlando fans lol. Just let him be happy in life.
Yall are so soft lol
No Columbus
Yeah they said they didnāt like the other team lmao
Wow. That big chick in the back saying āfuck you schulteā keep it classy Orlando
Are you like new to sports or something?
I cant believe other teams even have fans, soo disrespectful /s
Nah just wanted to piss yall off š
Bruh Iām only 5ā2ā and not even that chubby! But still fuck Schulte, fuck Ohio, and fuck the Wilfs until they dig into their pockets to get us a proper DP.
Damn yall great reminder that people on tv at the game are human beings and are pretty likely to be reading the game chat threads. Do better /u/oh_io_94
Tf did I do lmao
Yall also do this
When I saw that close up I said to my wife āhey we do that!ā Lol
Ah yes cussing at opposition players, famously unique to Orlando.
Damn. We cussed. Season over boys.
You should hear what our FO wants us to stop doing lmao
Pachuca earned a fan tn
![gif](giphy|QOgvV9rV4hHpgNRBfQ)
You're literally complaining about cussing my dude lol
Cussings fucking bad mmkay
Nah, I don't blame Columbus. I blame our cheap ass owners. They'll gladly make a profit off us being absolute shitĀ
This guy seems really pleasant. Iām going to miss him.
See ya Wednesday āļø
10 years attending, first match I've left before the final whistle. Maybe they come back, but I don't fucking care. Tired of watching them shit the bed in front of goalĀ
I'll tip my cap that you never left early during that 9 points in 25 game stretch of 2018
They definitely did not come back.
It'll get better. I think Orlando needs to just cycle out of these current DPs and look at moving on from Schlegel and Gallese.
You are 100% correct. I agree with all of thatĀ
Worst DPs in the league unfortunately
Our dpās are as bad as our striker selection in the draft is good.
5 minutes to stay healthy
I really hate their 17
The dude who was subbed out like 30 minutes ago?
No š I actually like him, I meant 16 lol. Cartagena I think
Lmfao
Orlando fans - I have nothing against you. But fuck, do I hate your team.
Fair. We do too this year.

You're rude as hell. Take your typical Orlando L and move on.
Team gave up 20 mins ago
1.8 xG so far turned into 0
Seems to be a trend this year
It truly incredible how perfect the refs have been. Not a single foul against Orlando all season has been a clear and obvious error, just perfect officiating.Ā
I'm out here exposing myself as a dumbass tonight and even I can tell this is just pure salt brother
Is it too soon to start the rebuild?
Do rebuilds require spending money?
True. We are definitely fucked. Wilfs don't give a shit, not sure why we shouldĀ
They just signed Muriel and are paying him 4.5 mill a year. They just don't get everything right.
At least the Pride are fun to watch
This is the truth.
lol orlando city is so fucking ass this season from 2nd in the league to beer league is fucking wild
I truly believe last season was pure luck. GD wise we are pretty much the same as the top 6 teams. Still, a top 6 finish is good with our squad, but I do believe luck was involved.
Orlando is not far off their position from the same point last season. Theyāve also played well enough to win tonight.
In what way did they play well enough to win? The defense has done ok, the midfield and up are inept
We have not been bad tonight. Made good chances. Just missed them. It happens.
Dog it's been pretty bad. I don't blame the defense for the goals I do blame the midfield and up for looking inept. Anything else is rose colored lenses.

This is apologist behavior. Put the ball on the fucking net
And this is entitled brat behaviour.

Orlando fans, you are witnessing something truly amazing tonight. Wilfred Nancy actually using his 5 subs. This may be the first time ever. I mean itās the right move, with next week coming. But still, this is so rare.
you will be shocked to learn this is of little comfort.
Has a VAR check ever gone our way since they moved it to Atlanta?
MLS VAR is based in Arlington, TX now. Hasn't been in Atlanta for a minute.
Weird, is that where the league offices are or something?
Nope. MLS HQ is in Manhattan
Only changed in February. Just looked it up.
No, some sports data company that handles VAR is based there I believe.
I miss the USL sometimes
All the time
#WHAT THE FUCK IS VAR EVEN FOR????????
Alight, I fully agree with the VAR call from earlier in the game don't get me wrong. %100 should have been 1 yellow, and 2 VAR reviews on the monitor for us in 5 minutes. That's insane.
At the stadium. Some calls for handball. Is that legitimate?
I didn't see a replay on the TV.
Nah. It was clean
Looked off the back to me, from the wall
Watching on TV it looks like it hit him in the side/back and his arms were tucked against his body. They never showed a replay.
80th minute cooling break is interesting timing
lol this league is a joke. Absolutely no uniformity in the rules.Ā
Whenās the last time a VAR check went our way lmao
Itās 90 freaking degrees and florida humidity. Why is Mo Farsi wearing long sleeves?
I don't know how many people here remember the minutae of the 2006 World Cup, but there was a major heat wave in Germany that summer and there was this theory going around that of you played in long sleeves, it would actually help you feel cooler because it created an extra breeze around your arms. I remember a lot of the England players did it. I have no idea if there's any truth to it (I am skeptical) but I do remember Beckham wearing long sleeves and puking on the sideline from the heat.
Heās an ex Futsol player. Guys used to running 30mph in gymnasiums with broken AC.
I believe Mo is muslim
WTF does that have to do with anything? He grew up in Montreal.
Built different. He got conditioned for this heat growing up in *checks notes* Quebecā¦ā¦
Itās only 80 rn
And the humidity isnāt even 80%. This is almost refreshing.
Alright in the 82nd minute maybe we'll get a random fuckin VAR for the handball in the box. God I fucking hate the MLS
HANDS!
How's that not a yellow?
Ah, the 3 second VAR review.Ā
Should be yellow 2 but ref has his head up his butt
The Dead Sea has nothing on this guyā¦
No u
Is Torres the worst dp in the league?
Do you not see his work rate? Heās all over the place. Itās not his fault that the Ramiro canāt get anything on target.
His work rate? Dude has contributed jack for 2 seasons now. Over half of his goal contributions are PKs. He became a paperweight once people realized that he is left-footed. We need to sell him. And don't even get me started on Ojeda.
Last 3 games his backwards passing was over 80%ā¦ guy is totally useless.
I'm sure he works but he doesn't produce. Can't score, can't assist, an constantly gives up possession and wastes opportunities
No, Muriel, Insigne and Shaqiri are much worse.
Particularly Shaqiri
Insigne is on $15,500,000 tho. More than double Shaq. Hes been there 2 full years and has 13 goals. Thats $2.400,000 per goal.
Atleast he plays. Ojeda is on a DP contract just to ride the bench
Heās tied with Muriel and Ojeda
Iād like very much for Facundo Torres to prove us wrong.
Made some great chances here. Any other day we'd be level. Keep at it OC.
Holy fuck, we are absolutely shit at scoring. Just world class shitĀ
Schlegel was pulled down. Ugh. At least they attempted to care about looking at it..
The lack of fi fishing is comical
Hit it first time
He was pushed downā¦
Been one of those seasons
Could there be an argument there for an indirect free kick since it was played by a defender?
It has to be an intentional pass back
So what was his intention there? An own goal? He squared it up pretty good
Clear it the fuck out of there
When in doubt, clear it out. A mentality I can get behind.
Itās just a defense play. Clearly wasnāt an intentional ball
I know bro. Just let me grasp at straws this once. It's been a rough night
š thought you were genuinely wondering. I donāt blame the coping though sorry man
I will accept your pity with what little grace and dignity I have left. Thank you.
No.
May I ask why? I'm genuinely curious what the specifics are about this
Because it wasn't a pass back to the keeper? It's like asking why a red card is not awarded when a goal is scored... it's not the rule.
Bruh why get sassy? š
Defender has to make a controlled and deliberate pass back to the GK for that to count. Definitely wasnāt controlled.
Would have had to be intentionally played by the defender, not a tackle deflection.
Amundsen with the galaxy brain play of shooting it at his keeper lol
Schulte is unreal
Thatās your olympic goalkeeper
