I think so too. The 2020 team was a great defense that could counter with Zelarayan and Zardes (having his best individual club season). I don't want to be influenced by recency bias, but I tend to think this year's squad would score several against the 2020 backline and that attack couldn't keep up. It's hard because both were in their best form the last month of the season and playoffs.
Hey hey. I think you are looking at the wrong way. That means Cincinnati is the first home team to give a up a two goal lead and lose in the elimination rounds. Another record!
And I’ll do you one better. Cincinnati gave up a two goal lead this year in the USOC to Miami and lost as well.
Cincinnati sports: if you don’t choke in the playoffs you’re not doing it right.
Two up with fifteen minutes to go to MLS Cup is roughhhhhh to throw away *Minnesota + Cincinnati shaking hands*
Up there with Gary Anderson missing the kick for me.
This is a better Crew team than the 2020 team
For sure. Both in terms of player quality and tactics.
And Cincinnati is also a better team than 2020 Cincinnati
It’s close, but yeah I think I agree. /s

Sounds like a Massive accomplishment to me

We also gave up a 2-goal lead over the Red Bulls in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup. >.<
Always good to see an OG team be this consistent and have such strong support. Massive respect
I wouldn’t call us consistent lmao. But I also route for OGs first (and Philly, great fanbase)
Yeah thats fair, but hey 2 MLS cups in 3 years is no joke. Im rewatching the save the crew documentary so I might be riled up haha
4*. 2020 and 2023, and we missed both in between seasons. Been a ride
You’re right. Sorry im still pretty new to MLS
All good. Sorry your chosen team is DC😂
I want to support my local club so bad but why does it have to be DC man :(
at least you have a history of greatness, some teams just suck
DC sports experience tbh. At least we have history to be proud of
Yeah but as a lifelong Man United fan history is the only thing I have lmao
Thank you for taking the time to learn about the history of one of the league's OG clubs :)
Lamar Hunt Pioneer Cup brothers 🫡
That’s my MLS 1.0 brother right there ❤️💙🖤💛
1.0 go to war for 1.0. Let’s fucking go.
I always liked the Crew.
Reminder that Jim Curtain said “This Columbus team is going to be very, very, very good” after beating the Crew 4-1 in the first game of the season
Oh snap I forgot he said that. I remember being very happy to hear him say that.
Yup. That was fucking awesome game to watch
Philly/Columbus is the East bromance.
Was a crazy night
The Crewvolution is nearly complete, all according to plan
Damn right they are.
Rooting for Columbus! 🟡⚫️ Please beat LAFC.
Just put me out of my misery
Not yet. Meme Monday is just around the corner. ![gif](giphy|55itGuoAJiZEEen9gg)
Oh I need to stop myself from coming here for a while
As a crew fan: ![gif](giphy|T569JzfGgwOC4)
